Hey man - sorry, I haven't had any time on the xbox since then, not online anyway.  I was playing coop Halo 3 with my son last weekend for an hour or two, but that's it.  I'll hook up tomorrow and see what is what though - thanks!

The 4-6-0 I have is an ATSF set from MTH from a couple years ago.  It is a really good smoker - when you stop, the smoke goes up like a line and it smokes very well while running.  Have to watch it to make sure it doesn't run low!

Nice chats with RT, SJ and Charlie tonight.  I'm fading fast so I'll let SJ drive tonight and hang out in the game lounge for a while Smile

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Jim, I really like the TPC's for giving the ability to operate in various modes but unfortunately it does seem to have a weakness, Air Whistles! If I use a TPC on the club layout to run the wife's Hogwarts the whistle is extremely poor but if I switch over to transformer ops it works fine. For a test try setting the tender on a section of track powered by a CW-80 and then on the track controlled by TPC, the whistle difference is considerable.

When going outside at the museum yesterday I kept hearing all kinds of hi-revving big engines, last weekend they had hydro races so  I assumed it was the big thunderboats this weekend. Wrong, as part of "Fleet Week" they are having  road racing at North Island Naval Air Station.  You name it, chances are it will be there. NASCAR style cars to Euro's and even Bob's TR's.

BUCKEYE, I'm in the process of getting a new camera, what kind do you have?  Is that the one that shot the video?  Which by the way was totally awesome.DUDE!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.  Smile

Laz, the camera is a Cannon Power Shot S2 IS.  I have had it since 2006.  Cannon does not make it anymore, but makes a Power Shot S5 IS.  The feature I like the most is the LCD viewing screen will swivel.  This feature is great when photographing the O gauge trains at track level.  The camera has a function where it can be set up to take photos at predetermined time periods.  You have seen those documentaries where they have a flower opening and closing, well this camera can be set to take that type of photo.  It also takes continuous photos.  I have used this many times to take photos of a moving train engine and I seem to always end of with one good photo.  Here is an example of photos taken using the continuous mode:

The green trees made all the difference.

At the time the S2 was probably near the top in non-SLR camera, but today there are several non-SLR cameras that have the great features.

Mornin' boys.  Rain and 64 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  S'posed to clear out by noon.  Wifey's nephew spent night, will let him run trains in a bit. Will probably go sailing later on today...right after the RAVENS host the browns.  Former Commissar Tagliaboo-boo recommended that Baltimore build a museum after handing Carolina a franchise (how's their attendence?).  Perhaps one will be built for Joe Flaccooooo, who will continue to pile up points this week.  Hopefully the d-backs and special-teams worked hard on open field drills, as cleveland's rookie return man could be trouble.

Prediction - RAVENS 34 browns 13

BUCKEYE sent you a PM.  Great shots with your camera I like it tell me more.

Good Morning

Some fog  and overcast 60s.

I had fun driving the thingy last nite. They were hiding booze somewhere as everyone staggered out the door as I dropped them off. Love those loop-de-loops. No plans for the day so far.  Have a great Sunday...S.J.

Man - woke up with a terrible headache and upset tummy - I think it was from Jim's aerobatics!  Could have been a bad batch of Root Beer, though, lol!  Sounds like Universal Monster Movie weather, Jim!

Today I shall work on the basement, maybe mow the lawn if it dries out, and then play xbox.  TTFN!

PS - Doug, they need to have a railsounds tender for the HEX!

Aloha. Bears win! Notre Dame wins! A good weekend of football. Beauty day today. Last day of 80s I'm sure. Supposed to crash to 50s-40s tonight. Spent the day trying to fix the dryer. Won't heat. Did everything I could think of. Nada worked. So service call for Tues. There goes a few hundred. Oh well. Goooood news for Mrs. Brutus.

Okay RT - I ran trains first, then finished putting up drywall in the inside of the closet (still need to do some finishing touches, battery died on the drill and the charger was empty!), then I mowed the lawn, had a chat with the neighbor, mowed some more, then gave Chewy a bath, and then gave ME a shower!  I'm pooped.  Did not make it to the xbox, but trains were fun - 5 cars on the HEX now (Nos 18 - 22),  I found that after it ran for a while, the whistle was a little better.  Doug - that sounds like a good idea, but I've never heard the Shakespeare set.

Oops - wife drove across town to pick up some Jimmy Johns Sandwiches, but forgot her wallet!  So, now we will be having McDonalds (just up the street).  Oh well, McDonalds is good.

Good evening everyone.  Was a great day at church.  I was supposed to be on lights today, but they needed me on camera this morning.  Great service followed by Sunday School.  Had to go back early for a "Way of the Master" class we are taking.
Mike C., we had a large toad in the back yard last year.  Thing would croak for hours and just when I thought i'd had enough, a rattle snake ate him.  We do have a diverse eco system around here.  Keeps things interesting.

Hope everyone has a blessed week ahead,

Dennis

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s.  Went to the trains show.  Lots of layouts.  Few vendors.  Grandson and son-in-law enjoyed the day as well.  Watched a tape of F-1 race.  "Desperate Housewives" is on next.  I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car.  Could not find toad today.  May have moved on.  TBIL.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Doug, If it is an electric dryer, the heating element is a pretty simple DIY fix.  They are a little different depending on the brand.  Here is a sample to give you an idea. Just remember to pull the plug before you work on it.

Hi GYZ,

68 today but rainy.  Did shopping walked dog did laundry.  Then went and picked up new camera.  Went to RITZ Camera shop at local mall, got the Sont a230 camera.  Pretty neat, I got this one because it is the only one that is compatable to the Quantary lenses that I have on the Monolta 35mm camera and I can use them on this sony.  The only thing I don't like is it has no video for it.  Oh well.  Ran trains for an hour, NO PILE UPs all ran good.

Stay frosty,

Good Evening

72 today but cold front is bringing wind and storms so they say.

Detroir Lions won their first game since Dec.2007. And it was not on tv because they could not sell the tickets. I wouldn't buy one either.

Banilla is ready but I doubt that I will get to drive. Brutus bring on the thingy.

Good MONDAY morning.....>ugh<

Princess wanted to be at her friends house by 0545, so I’ve been up since 0430, I’m already beat Banged Head.  Homework and “Spirit Week” stuff.

Spent most of the weekend with the Princess’s “to do” list.  I would up waiting in the car for 3 hours while she shopped for costumes for High School “Spirit Week” and Halloween.  Napped and listened to the Yankee/Red Sox game.  Sunday stood on the street with a “Car Wash” sign for the Dance Team Car Wash.  Tried to listen to the Giants/Tampa Bay game and the Yankee/Red Sox.  Got home in time to watch the last 3 innings of the Yankee game.  AL East Champs, 100 wins all at the expense of the Dead Sox!! Giants 3-0 and the NJ Devils are about to start the season – life is pretty good right now....

So since I spent so much time doing ‘other’ things, I’m still rounding up the inventory for the train sale Saturday.  So much to do and so little time.

Upper 80’s today and partly cloudy 30% chance of rain, wish it was fall here.  Could really use the mid 70’s daytime and 60’s at night Sigh.

Angel to all that needs ‘em – Detroit Lions not with standing....

Long weekend...

SusieQ found out that the fertility clinic messed up her meds and resulted in another blown IVF cycle! UGH. Sad Went out for dinner on Friday and had a most wonderful time and meal. Got a new recipe from the owner/chef and will be trying it out this weekend. Thumbs Up Got some little things done on the project (installed the deadbolt plates on the french door and sunroom exterior door, installed the lock pin plates on the french door, sanded and respackled the family room wall). Couldn't get much more done because the electrical and framing inspections need to be rescheduled - need to do that today. Went to use the dish washer Saturday morning and found the nut plates that were (notice the word WERE) used to fasten the dishwasher to the bottom of the granite countertop had come off. So had to attach a piece of poplar to the bottom of the countertop and now need to get to Lowes to get some small screws. Picked up the insulation for the sunroom since Home Depot was running a sale this past weekend. Got all the insulation for 60% off! Thumbs UpBig Smile Also picked up the mouldings to build the crown moulding in the sunroom against the FR wall at the top of the cathedral ceiling (needed this for the electrical inspection) and the lumber to build the mouldings to hide the wires in the screened porch for the ceiling fan (needed that for the electrical inspection as well). Need to call for the reinspections today and get the mockups for the mouldings done tonight. Need to get the sunroom insulated due to the temperature drops later this week.

Hope to get into the train room this week as well so I can get some work done and get the pictures posted for Doug's and Jon's cars.

 Hello all,

Great soggy week end, Had a wonderful party with my grandson and the trains. Kids and adults were impressed with the trains. Hopefully some new blood in the hobby.

Brutus  Great news, continued prayers

Dennis, A rattle snake in the back yard ?????

Doug, An electric dryer is less complicated than some trains. There is probably a schematic some where on the inside.

Prayers to all who need them

Morning all.  Yeah Banks, a rattle snake.  We have had a few.  Neighbor's wife went to clean out the pool skimmer and had some babies in it.  Fortunately, she looked before she swiped.  I have killed them with a shotgun and wife has chased them off the front stairs with a broom, but overall it is a rare event.

I'm on call, have some administrative work to get done before the end of the month, and have two big cases to do today.  Doubt I'll be hitting the rails till later in the week.  Oh well.

Better get started with case.

Dennis

Thanks John! It's a gas-powered GE. I traced everything I could and it still doesn't heat. :( Cold overnight with winds heading over the lake to Michigan and Ohio. Maybe'll see the sun. Definitely train weather. :) Here's a link to the Shakespeare set: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUBX1

Morning all!

Brent:  Our new DW has alternate instructions to install to sides of cabinets, instead of gluing the top supports to the stone countertop.

Watta weekend!  Bride had a friend over to can tomatoes Saturday.  I had her boys (6yo, and a 9-yo) and ran trains.  Boy are they hard to keep up with.  I think the train went around one loop (4'x8'), and they wanted to change an engine or a car.  A lot of work, but a great time!

Sunday was a Birthday dinner at our house for friends.  We had 9-adults and 3-kids and twin infants.  Couldn't watch the Lions, so I watched the Vikings...Favre sure puts on a show.

Windy and rainy last night, and today.  Dog was in bed with us because of storms last night about 3:00am.

It is a clear and sunny 60 degrees. Very windy. Going up to a 72 degrees day.

Today is a busy day. I have a bunch of phone calls to make for business. Then, the usual chores around the house. Maybe later, I will run trains.

Dining car was here for a Cheerios breakfast.

Y'all have a great Monday.
