She is done.  Good new coffee for September.

Stil proud.

Glad to call this very nice young lady a friend.  Man, that suit was hot.  When I got home, shirt and top one foot of my pants were soaked.  Head looked like I had been dunked in the pond.  Good night all.

Nice outfit there Chief!  Well, good Sept 1st and a cup of new Joe.  Didn't sleep well last night and son woke early this morning.  Guess I will go over his science book as he has a test this morning.  He should do well.

If I get home in a timely fashion today, will be doing a little organizing in the train room as I have to figure what scenery items and accessories I have so we can plan the next phase of the pike.  At least I will have some trains running.

Hope everyone has a great day!

God Bless,

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the low 70s.  This is a rare event when I get to post on the first page of a coffeepot!  I went to soccer practice for the girls last night.  Basically stood around with the other helpers.  Did work with one of the newbies on throw-ins.  Got trash ready and picked up sticks in the yard.  Went to the YMCA and did weights.  Also did a slow jog for a half mile.  I have to get my "air" up for next season.  Not going to worry about time and speed reports at this point in time.  Running/jogging uses different muscles than walking so I have to get them in shape.  Need to be able to put in a solid 50 minutes of playing time and not be winded.   Ended the evening helping wife cut coupons.  Work went ok yesterday.  Turned my Buffy calendar over to September and "Cordy" was on the page.  My day is set for the next month!  I had the regular fare on the dining car.  Beacon is lit.  I hope everyone has a good day.

BTW, Laz, I enjoyed your pictures.  Looks like you had a good summer.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning.  Up early compared to the time I went to bed.  Think the sun is out.  Had slow nice showers yesterday.  Got luncheon to attend today.  Grass mowing after that.  Wife is wanting to go to Gettysburg in Oct.  Will have to slip into Yankeeland for that one.  Mike C., wish I could run for a solid 50.  Everyone have a great day.

What a beautiful Sept. 1 in the Heartlands Cool  Temps in the mid 50's with no humidity, I know the farmers are hoping for some more warm weather to fill out the soy beans.  Without a doubt I think two of the nicest months of the year are Sept. & Oct., I'd like to be on the road travelling but that's probably not going to happen this month with the birth of our Grandson.  I sure hope it's soon as his Mom is really miserable and not sleeping much, our son was born Sept. 5---could it be the same birthday for his son?  that would be very cool.

I've been building more shelves for storage under the layout in the basement.  It's absolutely esential that nothing ever sits on the floor, I run a dehumidifer 24/7 down there along with central A/C and I'm still amazed at the water I dump out every day, even with low humidity outside.  At times I've cussed every basement in every house we've lived in but yet I can't imagine having a home without a basement, we are fortunate as train hobbyists to have the luxury of a basement---not everyone of us has that option.

I do the think the Chief looks very dapper today Thumbs Up

Jon

Aloha all. Amen to what you said, Jon. Beautiful day here - began in the 40s... Soccer practice with the youngest last eve - he would've enjoyed meeting that striped critter. Having guests Friday means will have to spiff up the basement sometime this week to show off the layout.

Good Morning

A nice week forecast, 70s all the way.

Big breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. I got the grass cut yesterday so need to change the oil in grannys car and we will wax it together, I told her this week while it's nice. I may have to prod a little. Nice picture of the chief but I noticed he did not post the "after" with the tar and feathers...S.J.

Good luck Steve.  Hope it works out.  Praying it will.  It is bad when people want to work and can't get a job or are disabled.  Then there are those [not like you] who ride the government.  Again, good luck.

Mornin Fellas.

Hard to believe it is September already!

Finally have the pictures taken for SPF, should have them posted tonight. Then have to ship cars to JohnF.

Haven't decided what to do about York. October could be very hectic for me and I'm just not sure I'll be able to make it. Probably send in the registration and that way if I can go I'll have my badge.

Just ordered the new shocks, struts, springs and install hardware for my Bimmer... UGH! Gonna take a couple months just to pay that off... then had to order new driver side mirror glass, new driver headlight lens and headlight gasket... have to get tires and an alignment too... not looking forward to this bill, especially now that we are armpit deep into the sunroom/screened porch project... there goes the vacation. Sad

Nice outfit Chief!  all you needed was one of those cat in the hat, hats like Scott Smith wears to York.  Have a good trip to Gettysburg but watch out for the Yankees.  The first time I went there, I innocently asked the docent at the cemetery if there were any confederate solders buried there too. He seemed highly indignant and said No!, they were the enemy.  I thought that was a strange thing to say in this day and age.  They were also Americans,  I found the whole Gettysburg visit a very moving experience.  Would love to do it again if I could.  I was there one year on the anniversary of the battle, July 1,2, and 3rd. and got to see some reenactors in costume from both sides camped out in the woods next to the battlefield. One of the soldiers let me hold his muzzle loading rifle. Those things were heavy!  I also got to see a confederate band with period costumes and instruments give a concert in the local high school that week.  Most moving experience was walking the route of Pickett's charge from where they started to the angle on the Union side.  Made me realize what it must have been like being under fire over that vast distance.  It was suicide. It's a wonder that any of them survived that charge.  This was where the Union got even for Fredericksburg.

RT, is the breathing machine for a sleeping disorder or something else?  I use oxygen at night only and have an oxygen concentrator machine but mine is for COPD.  I only use it at night and I can go without oxygen in the daytime or when I'm awake.  So far no problem.  Hope you resolve your situation too.

Hello September pot.  I had to go back to the August pot to find out what the fat cat suit was all about.  Looks good Chief.

It was a beautiful day here, 49 degrees on the back porch this morning.

Had a nice chat with Don B. last evening.    I think we solved most of the countries problems, except the fact that Pennsylvania is still without a budget!  Banged Head

Sunny and high 70's here today.  Took a stroll behind the lawn mower.

Brutus, Steve - great news!

Chief - I suppose all that will be left of you in your next picutre will be a smile.

I'm planning on spending a little while on my friend's Marx.  I'll clean it up, run it a bit, then send it back to its home. Think I'll put one of my Lionel tenders behind it so I can give it some proper exercise too.

The one of my presses was just going into changeover into one of the new part numbers.  Fourth or fifth time in the press.  I've babysat enough set ups to know it will probably be OK.  Time to let afternoon shift figure that out for themselves.  So far, so good.  The phone has not rung.........

Later.

In forty years of working in constuction, today was a first.  We dug up 60' of a lateral sewer that was laid backwards.  Yep, they were trying to get the water to flow uphill.  What a mess!

Mowed the lawn tonight.  This is the first year in 20 that we have not had to water the lawn.  We have had rain and cool weather all summer.

Good evening everyone!  Hope everyone is doing well.  Long day at work as had a number of cases and an emergency that added a bit of excitement.  Also, went out for sushi with the team and one of the manufacturer reps.  Some new equipment we are looking at to make things a little better.  Our numbers are at the top of the list for the country, but it is important to be on top of things.

Ray, the C-Pap is for folks with sleep apnea.  Essentially, it blows the air down the airway.  While numbers vary from study to study, they all seem to indicate that sleep apnea (cessation of breathing while asleep), is directly linked with several cardiac related diseases and sudden death.  Not to scare anyone, just if you have a history of apnea, it is worth getting a sleep study done.  I failed mine, so now I too wear a mask and had to have a second study done to verify the workings of the mask.  I had over 300 times where I stopped breathing in the first study.  This also leads to very restless sleep, so for some folks who always wake up tired, this could also be an issue.

Have a great night everyone.
God Bless,
Dennis

Howdy folks!  Well, today we had a little going away luncheon for a co-worker.  His wife works as a civilian for the Army and got a job in Germany, so Tom is going to be living there for 5 years!  How cool!  I would love to do something like that!

Talked early with RT and SJ.  Tardis is ready, so let's get the fun rolling, lol!

Evening Everyone !!

Major accomplishment (for me), finally got the computer system working here.  Came home Saturday night, and no internet, no phone, but the cable TV was working.  Started working the phone issue, reset the modem to the house, no luck.  Spent a good 2 hours on phone with technical support.  (Cell phone, until the battery died, during the call.)  There solution was to send some one out on Wednesday. (tomorrow).  Didn't confirm the appointment, and havn't heard anything from them since.  Anyway, I continued working with the phones, disconnected them 1 by 1.  Until get to Chris' phone.  I couldn't find it.  So disconnected the base, WHALA !!  The phones start working again.  (His phone was under his bed, with a box on it, holding the line open. Banged Head

So Sunday night trying to get Net up and running.  Another hour with technical support, they start walking me through 1 step at a time.  Disconnect all the computers in the house (4), then they do a reset from the office on the modem, and manage to get 1 computer to work on the modem.  Then say thank you very much, and if you have any problem, don't call us.  Now the Router is disconnected and nothing else works.  Go to their TS, another 1 hour +, and do a router reset.  No go, finally decide to call it a day until Monday.  Monday, same thing, only this time they want me to download a firmware upgrade, and install it on the disconnected modem.  Obviously, that didn't work.  Tonight got a good tech guy, (girl actually), first question she asked was what is the version of firmware on the router.  She shows me how to find it, then says That's the Problem.  So we upgrade the firmare, reboot, and everything is back!!   I don't understand how the firmware can just become out of date, overnight.  It was working fine Friday, then dead on Saturday.  Unless the ISP, did a blind upgrade or something.  Just doesn't make sense.

The fire situation seems to have improved somewhat, had a much cooler day, and some humidity today, which helped.  They still don't expect to have containment until Sept 15 or so.  Going to be a LOT of smoke until then!

Question: Since Chief has that real neat Kitty Kat costume, and Buckeye is crawling around in sewers, when will we see the Rat Costume??

Also, make the Tardis approach from the Southwest, (go out around Catalina, and back in) won't have a problem.  Will be able to pick up Ray and shoot right down to DDG's place.

Oh yeah, the guy I was trying to help with the layout, has a bad TIU for DCS.  (He bought a used one from a LHS, very early version).  So he picked up a new one and its all working.

Later

(Buckeye I will see if I can find a Mouse Suit, there should be one out here somewhere.)
