Welcome back Buckeye!

Congratulations, Pat!

Taking it easy tonight as back still hurts from yesterday, but I did go through some boxes of stuff that my Mom and Sis "packed" for us when they were helping my wife clean the house about 2 months ago.  I found Home Depot ads, my DS, pocket change, and basically all my stuff that disappeared inclding a book a buddy loaned me - guess I better get that back to him.

Tardis is fueling, but will be ready shortly.  I'm stocking up on Old Mills, Sam A's and popcorn.  We still have chocolate chip cookies, banilla, rootbeer, and for some reason two large containers of humus and some Naan bread that my family refuses to at least try, geez!  Laugh

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Well, hello Buckeye....

Was up to 88 today fairly humid but ok.

Brutus, beam me up, I have some cold Moosehead here, let's party up!

HD still inop, dealer is of no help, time for a trade in...checking another job offer in Maryland, looked at some real estate in Point of Rocks...I'll have to SHMBO on this one, depending on the pay structure.

Howdy

Pat, congrats on fifty.

A goofy day weather wise, clouds and sun then sprinkles, it went that way all day, like it could not decide.

Brutus I am ready for the Tardis with extra banilla if needed.

Good evening everyone.  Had a OK day in that I went in a little later.  Had to have a talk with a friend who's daughter was just diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.  Gave him the run down, and fortunately, he and his family have a great faith.  Will be tough as she grows.  It is a new way of life for them.

Case was long, but went well.  I am tired, so it'll be off to bed.  Have a bunch of little cases in the morning.  I also have the evaluations to do for our department.  Always hate to do that as we have to be critical, but fair.  Oh well, that is how we get better.

Seems I won two auctions, one for a Jersey Central reefer, and another for a K-Line statue of liberty model.  I am sure I can find a place for both on the layout.

Practiced a little violin with the kids and wife tonight.  That is always fun.  Some times, the music from those instruments can make a heart warm....Other times, it can make a dog cringe.

Good night.

Dennis

CLoudy, muggy, some thunder & lightening, and about 80 today.

Congratulations on your 50th Pat.

Work is still there.  Politicked most of the day on a project that has gone a sour.  Must be human nature to ask 'what happened and why', rather than 'what are you putting in place to fix it'.  Until the fix is in place, the former question is useless.  Once the fix is in place, 'what happened and why' becomes important to undersatnd so it can be avoided next time.  At one time I was considering going back to Corporate if a position opened up.  Days like today make me re-conside that possibility. Wa, wa, wa.  I'll pass out cheese to go along with this whine.

Corporate sent paperwork that authorizes the start of a new product - always good news.  Tight timing and funding, but that seems to be the way of things recently.

Nothing new with the trains.

Later youse guys.

Where has Buckeye been?  He and his "team" tried to slip into Roseyville but was caught on camera and surrounded by Roseyville Police.  He landed his forces on helicopters painted black that had no markings or numbers.  He was forced to fly away.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI, but there is no joy in Mudville (Greensburg) as "my" soccer girls got pounded 9-0 last night.  You knew it was going to be bad when the other team scores with less than a minute gone in the game.  My wife knew it was bad when I came home and still had my voice.  JV lost 8-0 as well.  No offense, no defense, no nothing.   Sad, sad, sad.  Long day at work yesterday as well.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to "Points East".  TBIL, and you can pick me up early because the boys do not have a JV team.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin' boys.  Wet & 66 TAKE IT!  Sorry, lemme gather my compusre and rephrase... anjdevil, Rich ol' buddy, Point of Rocks is a beautiful area.  Lots of RR action, served by MARC, close to Fredrick, Charlestown, and just far enough from DC.  Plus, Brent wwould be halfway between your place and mine.   Now if that don't seal-the-deal...Big Smile

Never mind what the NJ Giants are going to do to your football team!  Just kidding.  Hope everyone is having a good day.  Doing a bunch of minor cases and getting ready to do the evaluations.  I'd much prefer to just do clinical work and be done.

Chief, sounds like you and Miss Pam are getting plenty of use of the Eagles' Nest.  You need it with all the work you are doing in your "Retirement".

Got my TCA magazine and ballot yesterday.  Will try to get through it in the next day or so.  Interesting to read about some of the folks who have gone on before us.  I was reading about Mr. Carstens history.  Seems we have had giants upon who's shoulders we stand.

God Bless,
Dennis

Aloha all. Congrats on reaching a true milestone, Pat. Hope to make it that far. Does this mean Buckeye has been standing around unable to sit for almost a week. Wow. Great Tardis ride last eve. with Brutus, Charlie, Sir J and the rest. Ran the layout for the first time in a while. Everything worked! Grey and cool here today - sending it on to Kurt and Sir J in Michigan and Mike C in Indiana. I think the town has an Oprah-hangover.

dwiemer - Well, since your beloved giants do not play the RAVENS in the regular season, I'll except that they should meet in Miami.   Hmmmm, how did that last encounter go...?  Ohhhh, now I remember - 34 - 7 (1/28/01).

Helloooooo Boys....

Up to 90 today lower humidity today.  Bright sunshine.

Looks like no help on the horizon for the Harley, after another $250 disaster and a year of ownership, I may get a Honda...but we’ll see.

Still reveling in the glory of my revamped layout.  Went to dinner at Johnny Angel’s, a 50’s style diner.  Good stuff.

Fife, oh, yeah, SNOW and a change of seasons.  Gotta love that.  I checked on MapQuest of the areas and realtor.com for locations and prices.  I have until the 21st to apply.  My brother lives in Centreville, VA and that would only be 45 minutes south, Mom & Dad about 2.5-3 hours north, not to mention being close to Emmitsburg and NETC campus.

Seems a bit pricey as far as real estate, but we’ll see.  Maybe they’ll compensate me...

and don’t forget THE BASEMENTS!!!!  Underground play areas!!!  Oh, yeah, youse guys being close would rock!!!  Job is in Fredricksburg and I think the MARC serves that location or close to it.

Don’t get me started on football (OK, GO GIANTS!!)  Gee, get to the Verizon Center to see my Devils kick some Ovie butt...nicceeeee.

OK off to see the wizard, higher ups are in from Saint Lou, more fun than I can Imagine  awaits..

Pat:  Congratulations!  Bow

Rich:  Sorry to hear about more HD problems.  Worse that the dealer won't help.

Doug:  You must have put a southern curve on the weather.  Sunny and cool here!

First day of school for 4-yo.  I goofed.  Her class is in the afternoon.  Oops.

anjdevil - Frederiscksburg, VA?  Yeah, you could take MARC from Pt of Rocks to D.C., then take VRE south to Fredericksburg.  Not sure how the timetables lign up.  Would be quite the haul on a daily basis. Dead You may also want to consider homes around Winchester, VA, or even Augusta or Berkley Springs, WV.  These are all commuter enclaves around D.C.

 Morning All,

Congrats PAT !!!  That is astounding, 50 years!  Tremendous accomplishment for you both.  We are just approaching 30.

Seems the Chief had an exciting time at the Lake, just grateful everyone is safe, and family had fun.

Back to work at the office, yesterday, busy day.  When people ask how is business, I typically reply "Good".  Then explain that I learned a long time ago that if it isn't good, that complaining about it doesn't make it any better, Lord knows I tried.  So if it is anything other than good, that just means I have to work harder.  So, therefore it IS good.  Long story short our recent activity at a new venue, has been working well.  We have seen a lot of activity as a result.  So will continue its pursuit.

Spent some time in the train room last night, did well.  Did seem to notice an issue, I put a spdt switch on some crossing gates to shut them off.  I put the switch on the "negative" side, however I'm picking up a "faint ground" somewhere, causing false operations.  Thing I will change the switch to the "positive" side.  (Great advice from one of our electricians.)

Going to go over and "check" on my buddy with the TIU problems.  He told me he got a new TIU and the poblems have disappeared.  So will check it out, and help encourage him.

Hope everyone has a great day, weather is calm, and don't work too hard!

Later

Good morning

70s today and boy is it stuffy.

Been out to the bank and Kroger this morning. Unfortunitly A CD expired and the new rates are so low it's like having to pay them. I decided to cash it and shop around. Shredded wheat for breakfast and half a muffin. Enjoy your day...S.J.

Lawson Farms - I'm inclined to think that Harpers Ferry is a bit of a high-rent district.  Plus, Pt of Rocks is just east of there, without the multitudes of tourists passing by.
