Laz,

Your really making it difficult, I know I said I could probably get the paint scheme modified in a couple of hours, but still it DOES need to dry.  I will try and get it reshipped Sunday evening, but it will be tough.

Many thanks to all of you friends on the forum for your condolences on the passing of my Aunt and the prayers and good wishes for my urinary problem.  Good news is that my water is clear this morning and I'm taking the antibiotics now.  Still no pain.  I've had kidney stones before but I have always had pain preceding the discovery of them.  This thing acts differently  I read somewhere that certain foods can cause color in the urine also.  I hope it is something as simple as that.

Partly suunny and mid 70's here. I'm noticing some of the maple trees are starting to turn.

Brutus - Check your TPC to see if you had a minimum voltage set.  I had mine set up so my conventional postwar locomotives would start up without cranking 3 turns on the red knob.  The first time I put my Williams BL-2 on the loop, I turned the red knob - nothing, more turn - nothing, a little more turn and it took off like a dragster.  The starting voltage for the postwar stuff was way higher than the starting voltage for the Williams.

 About it.

Happy birthday to your Mom, Chief!

Thanks Bill - I think that is probably it.  I remember I had to adjust something for my MTH engine to run it in conventional with the tpc.  I need to find the manual for my multitester and put in a little time figuring this out - then carefully write everything down for next time.  Maybe I will put a voltage readout on the layout anyway - that could be a good idea.

Went to a luncheon for a friend who is retiring.  We've worked together for 20 plus years now.  My hamburger, fries and diet coke cost $20 (well, 19.80).... Coincidence or Carmack?  You be the judge Laugh

Nice chats with SJ, Ole Timer and RT tonight.  Have to call it an early night tonight as up at 5 AM to work OT and then going to a birthday party.  Maybe time in between to pick up a hardcopy of the new catalog?

Dang kids are out in the street - playing at knocking/ringing in the bell and running.  Wife went out and yelled at some of them, told them she knows them and the next knock will cause a phone call to the police and visits to their houses.  Hmmm - no disturbances since then.  Guess it worked.

Tardis time!  Banilla sounds good to me, let's hit the road Smile

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evening all, my train buddy with the melanoma got some good news today.  They say the surrounding tissue after the surgery is cancer free.  Thank the Lord for prayers amswered.  I got the part for my pool skimmer today that I was looking for so we are making a little progress.  Ran trains this morning but too hot after noon in the garage.

Hey Chief.......Sure glad that you have shown us all what retirement is all about! Sit back, relax, sleep in.....Ah, enjoying the "simple, lazy life and dealing without the everyday chaos of the "pre-retirement years! How do you deal with all that inactivity in your day to day routine now that you no longer have to work?

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 64 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Had a 72" water main break just before rush-hour, which made for a long night.  Taking the youngest princess horseback riding, then to one of her friend's birthday party.

Two pieces of mail yesterday of some interest.  NRHS (National Railway Historical Society) magazine covered "fly-over" territory (you know who you are), with lots of great pics.  This publication has really been good past couple of seasons.

The other was a Hawthorne Village mailer for their Norman Rockwell collection of pre-lit buildings.  If they are anything like the Thomas Kincaide series, they are worthy of a look (especially if you model the northeast in winter).  Some guys knock on Hawthorne, but I have found to be a rather nice fit on my railroad, and I have 13 buildings scattered throughout my layout.  They are closer to S gauge, but look good in the background on O gauge as well.  They aren't as cutesie and glossy as the Dept 56 line (which suits me fine), highly detailed with light only shining thru the windows (which is even better), and usually a third to half the cost of Dept 56 offerings.

morning all not a lot planned for today. well working on a plan to keep train room as my brother ofered us a bedroom suit that wife likes and guess the only place it will fit at the moment? Well thinking if I move desk computor to train room and put it in here ( this is smallest room of the 3) I might be able to get at least a 6x9 train layout as if I stay here it looks like a 4x8 max. a lot to do in 2 weeks including moving all the cable to the house( well main connection as the modeum is in this room and will have to move to other)

Well I now have a minor problem as they put it at the Va that my pulse gets up to 130. They say its not dangerous but I need to monitor it as if it gets above that like 160 then there is a concern. ( I can feel it when it starts to race) did it twice yesterday and then came back to a normal mid 70's first time after 4 hours second time after 3 hours. and cafine may have something to do with it as I had chocolate a little be for each time. first time I had a peppermint patty and a three musketeer about an hour befor it happened and the second time I ate over a 2 hour period a package of the mini/snack size butter fingers ( pack of 8 for like $1.00 on sale $1.50 reg) so guess need to limit my chocolate. even thou that realy may be more than you should I don't concider that a lot to eat as know some who eat a lot more than that but then they don't have my problem.

Any way about to eat breakfast and go get a hair cut need one bad.

Hope all have a good day

Good morning

Sunny, going to the 70s.

I am waiting for the grass to dry so I can give it a hair cut and trim. Granny is out to one of those cancer walks and then this evening I will be taking her to her 50th high school class reunion. Oatmeal for breakfast, I guess we should not have eggs everyday...S.J.

Absolutely perfect day here in central VA. Great day to stay on the farm and lounge on the deck, grill, watch NASCAR trucks. Will stay away from our little town of Culpepper. They are having their 250th year anniversary day with parade, bike and antique car shows, garden tours, craft sales, lots of people, Etc.

Hay Chief - looking up and waiting!Dinner

Fifey - Remember Steve and I next spring on the exchange thing. I am going to check out the Norman Rockwell collection of pre-lit buildings.

High 70's and starting to cloud over.  Maybe rain later tonight.

RT - hope you get your heart rate thing figured out.

I'm working on reducing my heart rate as I type this.  But, I know what caused mine to elevate.  I've got a little framing project going this afternoon.  I was working cross handed, beating a 2x4 tnto place and hit my thumbnail dead center with the hammer.  I've got it on ice at the moment.  Man, is it ever going to be colorful tomorrow, as it is purple now..

Stopped at the LHS this morning and put a couple of Polar Express items on order.  Ordered a Boy Scout box car too.

Interesting item in the mail today.  Sales flyer from a company who makes patent award placks.  Seems a patent pending that I was part of has been turned into a patent.  Seems odd to hear of the award through a sales flyer in the mail instead of from the patent attorneys up at Corporate.

Well, the Advil has kicked in - the thumb is down to a dull throb.  Guess I'll swap the next load of laundry in and get back to the framing project.

Evening all.  Back from lots of travels.  Sent the motorcycles of this AM [cycling for Backpack Buddies, Rolesville Baptist Church, Rolesville Chamber, EMS and Fire Dept collect food and $$$ for kids who do not have food on weekends when not getting free lunches in school.  It is put in a backpack and given to the kids on Friday].  Went to Frankie's and gave him his benchtop drill press.  [hey, he just got may old/new JD mower a couple of months ago]  Went to Lowes and came out with $60 worth of bird food [they eat better than me].  Stopped by Miss Edna's who had just gotten in an MTH SD70 in NS.  Problem, it is Railking.  Sort of hesitant to purchase [still might].  Great price.  "Kinda" [that is Southern for kind of] looking at a Henry rifle instead.  Then off to SIL's for her husband's birthday cookout [steaks].  Now back home.  Enough.  Now rest.

BTW: having lake house withdrawal pains.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s.  At long last, I achieved a trifecta of sorts.  On the same calendar day, I watched an IRL race (Japan on Versus), a soccer game (high school boys), and I saw the Honda train go thru town.  My three favorite activities all on a single day.  Granted the ultimate "three-fer" would be seeing a race in person, going to a train meet and playing in a soccer game, but that would be pushing it.  The IRL race was kind of a snooze as Dixon won and Mr. Ashley Judd was second with the other "Team Red" (Newman-Haas) third and fourth.  Briscoe putzed a good chance to almost clinch the title with a bone head pit move, and AJ's team crashed near the end of the race to end a miserable weekend for the team.  The Princess was 6th.  The high school boys tied 2-2, and were quite fortunate to escape with the tie.  I reffed a more competitive game today than I thought it would be, which ended 2-0.  Wife and I watched "The Tale of Desperaux", which was a nice movie.  I finished the final detail work on the LEGO house.  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning for breakfast. Congrats to the Chief for 10,000 posts!  TBIL, and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

PS  Please keep the daughter of good friends of ours in your thoughts and prayers.  Friday she began serving a six month jail term for a drunk driving conviction.  She will be allowed out on work release to finish her student teaching.  It is a very long and complicated story, but she is basically a good kid who made one mistake.  Her parents are being very supportive and are jumping thru all sorts of hoops so she can finish her education while doing her time.  Thank you all for your support.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mike - prayers for your friends.  RT - prayers they get this figured out, ditto for Bob and Ray.  JimSP - prayers for the kids and family.  Prayers for all in need.

Laz - woohee!  Sounds like fun, haven't been shooting in a long time and never shot anything like that!

Pat - love the cartoon!

Worked OT this morning, then met friends for late lunch/early dinner.  Then we had some icecream cake for our friend's birthday.  Then us guys went down in the basement and watched an old King Kong movie while the wives and kids did their thing.

I've got SJ on the screen with the micro-beacon I implanted in his ear last night while he was asleep - shhhhh!  We'll  have plenty of time to get through all the banilla and even clean up before they get home Laugh  Ok guys - let's go!

Morning all!

Chief:  Backpack program sounds like a great idea!  I've been looking into weekend projects to engage our Church and local communities.  Happy Birthday to your mom!

Laz:  400 rounds - full auto?  Grouping?  Was there a target left?  What did that cost per minute?  Sounds like great fun!

Helped neighbor repair the bottom of a wood garage door.  Combined his clamps and mine, and we had enough.  Church today, and friends baptism.

Trains today!  I haven't run them in awhile.

Morning to All,

Just checking as I have not posted in a while.  I've been super busy with work and family.  Lots of late nights at work lately. One more on Tuesday and then we are done with evening meetings until the middle of October. Took off Wednesday because the Mrs. had a colonoscopy (everything was fine). Then took of Friday to help son move.  Long day but felt good to be able to help. Had a great dinner of steak fajitas at a restaurant near his old apartment. Spent Friday night after the move at my folks house.  Yesterday had scrapple and eggs for breakfast, it was so good! Came home and then laid around the house most of the day.

There's an RV show in Hershey I'd like to attend today but then I'd have to miss the NASCAR race and the Ravens game so we most likely will not go.  Maybe next year. I have some chores to do around the the house too.

Have a great day.
