HI GYZ,

42 this morning but another great day on tap, to get to 74.  Going to ride 15 miler on mountain bike.

KURT,STEVE,and BRUTUS, we had amassed about 2000 rounds of .45 ACPs.  We got them back when they cost about $10 a box of 50.  The TOMMY fires at a rate of 800 rounds per minute.  Soooo if we had a magazine to hold all 400 rounds would have been done in 30 seconds at a cost of $80 bucks or 20cents per round.  Well worth it!  It did take us 2 hrs to shoot all 400 on the count of reloading the 30 round sticks and the 38 round drum.  We had great fun though.

GO BEARS!!!!  They are playing my other fav team the STELLERS, so I win no matter.

Stay frosty,

Good Morning

Sunny but chilly, going into the 70s with needed rain expected before morning. Granny enjoyed her class reunion I don't know why as it was just a bunch of old people. 10000  post not unusual for a politician, they talk a lot and say nothing. Trains today for sure and a birthday party next door.

SEND MORE GRITS,winters coming and we need pothole filler.

Mornin' boys.  A glorious 64 degrees here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Going sailing at noon.  Taking middle princess out parallel parking...  Good chat with Chief yesterday.  We talked about chargers.

...Speaking of chargers, RAVENS invade Sandy-Eggo at 4EST.  Could be a long day for the Bolts, especially with a banged up O-line and no LT.  Jet-lag may be an issue, so look for a more reasonable passing game.  Prediction = RAVENS  29 chargers 9  Oh, and JOE FLACCO will bring back the prettiest charger cheerleader, who will find herself unexplainably attracted to the uni-brow.

Afternoon all.  Back from Sunday School.  Had to teach as teacher did not show????  Must have Yankee fish in my pond.  Took lots of moldy bread and threw small chunks all over the water.  Nothing had eaten it 30 minutes later.  Found big fire ant nest next to big pine tree.  Came back and got killer bait.  Fed them good.  They were running all over the place with bait in their mouths.  Got two at Miss Dorothy's coming out from pond.  Then treated 8 at nighbor's next to sidewalk and churb.  He's lazy and will not treat.  Also mows over them real low and strows them.  I have to treat or they will invade my yard.  Found a new tiny mound next to my curb.  They really love the stuff.  Sprinkle it on and they come out like it is sugar and carry it below.

Need to mow.  Don't usually do that on Sunday but will not have time until middle of the week.

Going to run some trains too.  Later

At first I thought it was indigestion from the political fund raiser's food the night before, but then I realized my nightmare was coming true last Friday morning when I had a kidney stone that was starting to pass.  Luckily I made it to the local ER where the IV drip was started and then without warning a stone the size of a BB popped out into the specimen bottle.  The ER nurse looked at the bottle and said, "I'm impressed!!".

Back to work tomorrow.

Buckeye - YIKES - I feel your pain (literally-been there).

Angel - every body who needs 'em Ray comes to mind, Brutus and Jim Phish...

Up to mid 80's again today, tried to get the axle out of the oldest's Daytona, couldn't find my breaker bar and the air compressor isn't like those at work, so wrapped it up until I can get the tools needed for the job.

Did some food shopping at BJ's wholesale club.  Joined for $45, spent $97 and had coupons for a total of $66. Felt good about that, at least.

Fell asleep on the couch, the Princess is resisting getting caught up on her homework, so, the oldest is walking her through an hour of math, then off to bed with her.  0500 is an early hour.  Open House at the High School, which will be a massive amount of fun.  The wife is working and the Princess will be at dance classes so I'm flying solo this time around.Banged Head.

Chief - Congas on the 10K.

The 'Boys and the 'gents tonight, should be a great game.  After homework, I'll tune in.

Not much on the train front.  I'm gonna start getting things together for the train sale in Deland on the 3rd.  I have a few items that I want for my self and the rest are up for sale.  geez, I need the room.

Will check back tomorrow or later if I'm up.

Good evening all,

IIAB....wait, it is RAINing in SE Indiana today with temps in the muggy 70s.  Went to Mass this morning (two baptisms), stopped in at my dad's, ate lunch at Ponderosa, did weights and treadmill at the YMCA, watched the end of the Neckar race, set up the Fastrack layout in the back bed room and ran the Alaska set.  I had cinnamon rolls on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Buckeye, you sure she was looking at the bottle when she said that?  Laugh

Congrats on the 10,000 Chief!  Course now you are over 10,000, so you will have to keep going to get to 20,000!

Went to parade today - son was in a marching band, very fun!  He thinks he might not do it next year, though.  We told him to wait until the end of this year and then he can make a decision.  The parade itself was about 1 hour long, but we had to be at school 90 minutes earlier and it turned into about a 3 hour event for us.  One other good thing, we parked at a Lee's Chicken.  Had chicken livers with hot sauce for lunch - yum!

Tardis is ready and the sky is clear, better get a move on!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Fife,

Here in PA, parallel parking is a major part of the license test. After you've spent some time on the road, you realize that people have no problems with parking, but their driving skills stink.Shock

Rich,

What year is the Daytona that your son has? One of my friends from work has a 93, and he has nothing but trouble with it.  Daytonas seem pretty rare in my area. I don't even see many in the yards anymore.

I had a very rough day at work today. One of the guys from the grocery department called off this morning, then the only guy who was scheduled for tonight also called off.Disapprove On Sundays, I am the only person in dairy/frozen, and I got forced into grocery on top of my normal duties today. Normally when this happens, the managers will nicely ask me to help, and I am happy to do so. However, one of the managers is less than nice. He started yelling and talking down to me as he usually does, so I put him in his place. I understand that may have been uncalled for, but I can't stand being treated like dirt when I have always been respectful to this person. Fortunately, I still have a job.

Another fairly sunny weekend here in the Ol' Pueblo. Some thoughts of rain and some clouds but nothing coming down. It is starting to cool off though (we are only in the 90's).

Ray - hope everything is going ok now

RT - wonder if you and I have some of the same medications? Hang in there and stay on top of it.

Buckeye - glad everything came out ok.

Still trying to figure out what my work schedule is going to be this next week or so. Doc still wants me on the hill with someone else 'til we start the season. I have one appointment tomorrow and then the first one in Phoenix on Thurs morning and then the diabetic education class back in Tucson that night. So going up on the hill this week is out. May go up on Friday, but then I found out I've got friends coming in town. Still got more vacation, but blast we need to get things done. Then I've got some spot on the ball of my right foot that is bothering me. Think I may have stepped on something a while back and may have a piece of something in there. Like I need another trip to the doctor. Oh well, I guess this is the week for it.

Picked up two books at the used book store this weekend. One is a copy of All Aboard!, the history of the Lionel Corporation. Read the original years ago, but it means a lot more now. Also a fictional novel of the Civil War Navy. I've read a lot of the history on this, the era fascinates me, steam and iron but still wood and sail. This book follows the historical action pretty well and is supposed to be a series. Have to look up the rest of them. Thought of the Chief and all you grits fanatics since a lot of it takes place in the south:)

Hope everyone has a good week

Partly cloudy and high 70's today.  Ugly looking clouds, but no rain.

Picked my son's car up from the shop Friday.  Had the head replaced.  My wife and I used it to go the the Barnes & Noble in Columbia to get a few highway miles on it, making sure all was well. No problems.  Good thing, 'cause he is headed to Florida later this week.  He has friends there, and thinks he has a job lined up.

I know, I know - it is plaque, not plack.  I'm convinced that spell check and calculators will somehow figure into the downfall of civilization as we know it.

Work tomorrow.  Got to do my part so those Social Security checks don't bounce.

Prayers to those in need.

Later all.

Good morning all,

It is another rainy day in SE Indiana.  Took it easy last night, and mostly spent time on the PC.  Supposed to rain all week so not sure how that will affect soccer games.  Doug M, glad to hear you got to watch soccer.  Buckeye, hopefully you will not have any more such occurrences.  I had a cinnamon roll along with the regular fare on the dining car this morning for breakfast before sending it to "Points East".  TBIL, and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning.  Back from the gym where Pam and I did an hour's workout.  [Sore tomorrow]  Now to shower and shave and go to town hall.  Then Dr's apt to see if I can stop this nose from running.  Look like a 2 year old sometimes.  That will be followed by County Commissioners and Mayors' assoc.  Home late tonight.  Will try the gym tomorrow AM again.

Buckeye, if you ate grits and drank sweet ice tea, you would not have those stones. Whistling  Jokes aside, glad you are better.

8N, I'm not much on spelling and most here aren't either.  Don't give it a second.

Have a great week.  Got to get those photos of the MoPac in computer and posted.  Maybe I will do new ones as the NS Dash 9 is due today.

Aloha. Not much difference this morning from last evening, dark, grey and damp. But it's Monday too so that probably counts for something. Doesn't look too busy today besides calling the high school to resolve some teen drama from this weekend Wow, 10K posts = lots of words. Mike C, you'd appreciate the visual imagery of my youngest when trying to remember not to lift his feet when throwing in a soccer ball, pretends he's stuck in maple syrup. Don't know where he got that one...

Good Morning

Much needed rain arrived overnite, about 1/2 inch. Clouds for today maybe showers and we have a warm southern breeze.

RT your cat is packaged and on it's way, had to send regular parcel post as priority mail cost more. It has kitty litter and a quart of milk, I hope you trained it to open the cap.

No special plans for today so I will just roll with it....S.J.

ChiefEagles
Back from the gym where Pam and I did an hour's workout

Good morning all,

Chief, I'm surprised you need to work out in a gym with all the other work you do.

Buckeye, glad to hear the stone passed.  I have not heard anything yet from my own urinalysis test but I have had no more symptoms or color in the water since that first day.  I hope they don't find anything at all.  I have had kidney stones several times in the past however.  All of the pain I had with them was when they were internal passing from the kidney to the bladder.  The actual passing out of the body process was almost a non event with no pain.  Of course mine were small enough not to cause a problem with that but they hurt like boulders when they were in the kidney.

My aunt Martha will be layed to rest today.  Funeral was Sunday afternoon at her church.  Interment was in a different city causing the reason for the delay.  Wish I could have been there but I was unable to do so.  I'm sure there were plenty of my cousins and my own family members in attendance however.

Paper says we are having more unhealthful air in my area today.  Guess we are still getting fall out from the fires last week.  Not good for the L.A. County Fair but they are closed on Monday and Tuesday anyway.  Friend of mine has been getting a work out over there this month with the Garden Railroad exibit of which he is a member.

Getting ready to give my trains a work out now.

Later, Ray
