Evening all. Missed posting. Did Easter errands. Dealt with major teen drama triggered by a teacher phone call and worked on the previously mentioned toilet. Going to replace the latter on Saturday. It's venting properly and otherwise working, but in a bathroom used by three kids. Noticed they knocked the towel rack off again. stuffing too many towels over it. For the price of the plumber I have to call once a year, I've seen a class 5  toilet that'll probably pay for itself... Love the bunny ears. Maybe have energy for the Tardis...

Broke up a bunch of drywall scraps that were not useful and put them out in the trash - hope the trash guy doesn't break his back tomorrow morning!  It rained all day here so did not get a vacuum - couldn't bring it home in the back of the truck.  Did hang out with the kids for a good long time and had some fun.

TARDIS is ready!  Mike is driving, so we'll be by and get you guys in a few minutes, might be careful at Don's, don't want to wake up the family with that bell Smile

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Doug, Rather than getting rid of the teenager this Saturday, why don't you consider putting an ad in the paper for a young male plumber apprentice.  That may be able to solve all the problems.  Worth a try.  (Another sage prophecy from the left coast.)

Brutus,

Your timing is uncanny!  I think the neighbor may be back, there was a lot of activity in the backyard this evening.  I could hear water being splashed and a glow reflecting off the house.  Sounded like some laughter also.  I would have gone over to check it out, but that d**** cow bell makes too much noise when I open the gate, creating a bunch of questions.  Make sure you hover slowly !!!!  And check that their is plenty of memory available in the translucent hyperbelie event recorder.    Set it for "XX Rating",  I see one guy across the way, prone on his roof with infrared stereo binoculars, looking in that direction.

A man is driving along a highway and sees a rabbit
jump out across the middle of the road.

He swerves to avoid hitting it, but unfortunately the rabbit
jumps right in front of the car.

The driver,
a sensitive man as well as an animal lover,
pulls over and gets out to see
what has become of the rabbit.
Much to his dismay, the rabbit is the Easter Bunny, and he is
DEAD .

The driver feels so awful that he begins to cry.
A beautiful blonde woman driving down the highway
sees a man crying on the side of the road
and pulls over.

She steps out of the car and asks the man
what's wrong.

"I feel terrible," ! he explains,
"I accidentally hit the Easter Bunny with my car and KILLED
HIM."

The blonde says,"Don't worry."

She runs to her car
and pulls out a spray can.
She walks over to the limp, dead Easter Bunny ,
bends down,
and sprays the contents onto him.

The Easter Bunny jumps up,
waves its paw at the two of them
and hops off down the road.

Ten feet away he stops,
turns around and waves again,

he hops down the road another 10 feet,
turns and waves,

and repeats this again and again and again and again,
until he hops out of sight.

The man is astonished.
He runs over to the woman and demands,

"What is in that can?
What did you spray on the Easter Bunny ?"

The woman turns the can around
so that the man can read the label.

It says..

(Are you ready for this?)
It says,

"Hair Spray
Restores life to dead hair,
and adds permanent wave."
Happy Easter!!!

Patrick--

Thanks, that was an excellent way to start off Good Friday!!

We attended the Broadway Production of "The Color Purple" last night with the national touring cast, FANTASTIC.  If it plays anywhere near your home, go, you won't be disappointed.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 47 degrees. Going up to 60 today with rain in the forecast.

Today is busy. Chores and one errand to run. Got the entire yard mowed yesterday. It was getting high. Glad I did, before the rain. I might run trains later. I am slowly getting a few things done on the layout. Mainly scenery items.

Buckeye....TGIF

Dining car was here and we had the usual, Cheerios, for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Friday.

Morning all - grey, cold and windy  - as Jim says, appropriate weather for the day... I love your idea Don, just the usual 'lying, breaking-things, failing'  - character issues- trying other things to root them out, but not letting it bring me down as in other instances. Nice quiet Tardis ride. I like how Mike drives. No swooping like Brutus. Got a nice peek at F1 racing prep too.

Brent, after looking at your photos and your description, now i get it and look forward to it - check out Fred Dole's article in the last CTT about using flats and compression 'behind' your last row of buildings to give the illusion of even more depth.

Great joke, Patrick! Some little brat just told the youngest all about the Easter bunny.

Raining and 50's here.  I've got the day off, but my wife does not.  Plumbing project lined up for today.  A messy one - I'll have to open the living room wall.  Better to do this sort of project while mom is out of the house - it just goes smoother that way.

JohnF, Brent - sorry about your losses.

Chief - that sounds more like a farm than a garden.  Anybody living near Chief will want to keep their cars locked when zucini season comes around.  He will be looking for creative ways of getting rid of the surplus:)

When I was living in Kentucky, I had a garden that was about 50' by 50'.  I miss it since moving to Mo.  About all I have room for here is a few tomato and pepper plants.

Sir James - Cleveland is my other favorite baseball team at the moment.  They are keeping the Tigers out of the basement.

Gotta go play with pipes now.....

Well a good Good Friday morning to Y'all!  John and Brent, sorry for the losses.  Tought time of year, but it is a reminder of the faith we have of better things to come for those who know Him.

Been busy, not so much with work, but bride worked a few days this week as kids are on Spring Break.  I had to fill in...taking kids to daughter's ballet class, making dinner, etc.  I can't stand it when she works....I need a vacation afterwards!  (Ah, York!)

Like Laz, I am putting my York list together.  Mostly need people, but also want a Legacy locomotive and some other odds and ends (Divco CTT truck anyone?).  Looking forward to learning more and seeing lots of trains there.  One thing I have noticed, I have not seen many of the "Side shows" like the MTH-Tony Lash visit, and the Weaver visit, things like that.  Do they only do that for the October show?  If they have any additional things during this one, what are they?

Well, gotta run.  Hope that everyone has a blessed Easter weekend (for those who practice), and enjoy this great weather we are having.  We have Lord's Supper tonight at the sports park for our church, and then on Sunday, we have Miss America from 07 as a guest for morning services.

God Bless,
Dennis

Brent,

Clearing the cache and cookies did the trick. Thanks.

I am still waiting on that Fastrack I ordered last week.  I haven't had time to build any benchwork yet, but I'll do that after the end of the semester.  I changed my screen name as well. I was worried that my old screen name and my location could get into the wrong hands. Has anyone heard from Jack (RockIsland52)?

8ntruck,  I envy the chief's garden myself.  It reminds me of a Garrison Keilor story on public radio.  He told about how everybody grew tomatoes back in Lake Wobegon and when the season was at it's height, people would put bushel baskets full on somebody's back door step and run.  I had one good year with tomatoes but I think the soil needs more fertilizer now.  Just don't have the energy to fool with it anymore.  Found a good produce place where I get them cheap but the taste can't compare to home grown.

Took my usual walk this morning even though it is grey and might rain.  Going to church at noon for Good Friday service.  Hope all of you have a blessed Easter season.

Ray

Fifedog ... think I've got the canal ... water idea figured out ... we have 3 of those little waterfall units you sit around the house and 2 are spares ... going to take the pump unit and incorporate an operating falls and stream running into the canal . Real water and movement . What do you think ? About have every idea down pat ... need a few 30 " sections of fastrack and all should be ready to hit the workshop for the basic start . Picked up a  couple more Reading cars/cabooses .
