Chief....there seems to be (have been) a disproportionate number of squirrels on your spread lately.  Is it because they look at Chiefs' Chalet as nut Mecca?  Or because of the squirrely atmosphere created by the "chief" proprietor?  Or because they like to peek through the windows each evening to watch Rocky and Bullwinkle reruns while you are reclinerizing?  Laugh [(-D]

Yes, Jack, the BIG Southern Squirrel Hunter strikes again. He probably puts out feed for them and then shoots them. It's a good thing Buckeye..is meeting with several Senators from Ohio, to figure out how to keep Chiefie.from entering our GREAT STATE and find out if he has broken any " Endangered Species " laws by killing poor little squirrels. I try to picture how a " Turkey" would look shooting a squirrel.

Here we go..............Gas price update...........

Several gas stations in Cambridge, Ohio....have closed. BP and Shell have shut down because their gas pumps only go up to $3.99 a gallon and only $99.99 on the total. No word on how they will fix the problem.

I guess that means that the price will be over 4 bucks a gallon.

Can you send me that link?  That sounds cool!  John Baker said there's a Lionel show across the pond this weekend!  Roadtrip!  Or should the saying be 'Tar-dis!'  The best thing about this is that we can always get a larger one before we gout this one!  Laugh [(-D]

Saw some die cast 1:50 batmobiles at Toys R Us yesterday...comic book styles...Bride just doesn't understand.

Kurt - found it on ebay, search on "Die Cast Miniature TARDIS & Dalek 2-Pack"  I think it's a little big at 70 mm tall, should be about 50 inches wide and 8.5 to 9 ft tall in real life according to various sites I searched last night...

Doug, sure looks like a cool accessory!

Man Don, those pictures are incredible - glad nobody was hurt!!!

Laz, maybe pick up both Emma's Peel?

Dennis, that's a real shame about Mr. Chapman's children Sad [:(]

Wife and kids took Amtrak to KC area today, waiting for call that they made it.  Cost about $100 round trip compared to about $200 to drive due to gas.  Working tomorrow - but that will pay for a new toy train!  So, it's all good!  Me and Chewy are full of brats and I even had a couple Sam Adams while watching Idiocracy - funny movie!

EDIT - Oh yeah, always was Bewitched by Liz!  And how about that Jennie I used to Dream about?!  Laugh [(-D]

Jason....I bet those stations at Bagley Road and I-71 don't have any problems raising their prices.  I have always considered them to have the highest prices in the state.

Kurt, if I was 90, I bet I'd think she was smoking hot!  LOL

Hey, I bought it on ebay from a store in England.  it was about 15 pounds delivered.  In American, that's like $30.  Don't tell Mrs. F, okay?  Whistling [:-^]  Tardis plus a dalek toy - diecast.  Tardis is 70 mm tall, which is a little too big, but they are toys right?

Evening all. Back from driving the middle boy to his guitar-playing. I waited out in the car reading various O train mags until I ran out of light.

I have dibs on that squirrel meat.

Brutus, That Tardis is great! I found one that's a little bank - a bit smaller but the light on the top works.  Kurt, never seen a gold one. Are we off to Blighty this evening - to see Mrs. Peel?

Jack, it's not that Woodstock - still a tad rural but rapidly suburbanizing. You wouldn't recognize it.  The hobby store, though charging full retail, is great!

Dennis, thanks for the heads up on the Traction modeling book - they are rare! I will have to track that down.  Very sad about the Chapman incident. As a dad of three adopted kids, including one 'driving-age' and a young'un the age of his daughter, I feel very sad for all of them.

Roy, thanks for the reminder... Stooge-a-palooza is on this Sunday - must-see-TV!

I wish they would show Doctor who on The local PBS station. Other great shows on PBS like RED GREEN(from canada) and a few of the brit comedies are cool but Dr. Who and I think it was called Blakes 7 where some great sci-fi shows. I am ashamed to admit it but I have the first two boxed sets of space 1999 DVDs also trying to get orginal star trek series on DVD as well.

Nerd!  Hey - I loved Space 1999!  How about UFO, the series that preceded it from Gerry Anderson?  Of course, don't forget the puppet movies he made (and the great satire puppet movie from Parker and Stone that was a take off on those shows)!  I have the complete Avengers Emma Peel Megaset, including all of the episodes that she appeared in.  I've thought of adding the Tara King episodes as well.  Red Green is hilarious, but my wife doesn't get it, much like Stooges (Doug is right!).  Original Trek and Next Gen were great, the rest were just okay.  Too bad, but I think Berman drove that show into the ground.  I have high hopes for the new Trek movie though.  I've heard Blakes 7 was good, but I never watched it (yet) - ditto Red Dwarf.  Hitchhiker's Guide tv series and books were great though.

Got a call from my wife and they made it to in-laws' house.  Amtrak from St. Louis to Lee Summit and car ride to somewhere near KC took about a total of 6 hours.  Usual car trip is about 5.5 hours, so not bad.  She said they were on a siding for a while waiting for the Amtrak train going the other way to get past them.  Why isn't that double track from STL to KC?  This seems like such an obvious move to me!

Ok here goes.  Bird feeders full of black oil sunflower seeds.  Now several feeder chewed up to get more seeds at the time.  Also three pecan trees [no pecans until early fall. they start cutting them when in green hulls].  No one in town has killed any in years [except getting run over crossing streets which we see all the time].  You see them coming across the ground and through the trees from way down the block.  Now that they are being shot, when I come out, they run for several houses down the street.  Now we are being invaded by groundhogs.  I've killed one.  Now a visitor is eating off my cucumber plants' runners.  Since the Town has grown so much in the past few years, shooting with rifle is restricted to on the ground and on your property.  Actually shooting in town is illegal but police understand.

Later.

Tomorrow is the Indianapolis 500 and the Nascar Pepsi 600.

Dining car has rolled in and is ready for breaalfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Good Morning -

Just checkin in, nothing new with Chris, he saw the Dr yesterday.  Still reluctant to remove the tubes.  Going to do another xray on Monday, then make a decision.  I hope its favorable but have a feeling the surgery is imminent.  I'm not worried about the surgery, but unfortunate for Chris his band of buddies are home for a 10 day leave, and of course they had made all kinds of plans.  None of which included much "quiet" time.  And, Monday is his birthday as well.

Me with this dang cold doesn't help, I'm avoiding Chris, but don't really feel much like working in the train room.  And I had a lot planned to do today, havn't even been in there for 10 days, I'm sufferin withdrawals as well.

Got the new CTT, pictures are real good, so are the articles I've read.  Need to go pull out the March issue, read they had an article on rewiring the 450 signal bridge.  I have one needs work maybe that will answer some questions I had on it.

Probably spend some time with train videos today, right now don't feel like much else.  Better days coming.

OH, the weather was relatively calm yesterday nothing like what was predicted.

Take care all !!

Don

GOOD MORNING

Bright sun this morning going to 70,78 Sun. & Mon.

Brutus hope your family misses those KC storms.

Wife is driving me crazy as we are having a family gathering here today. And of course I haven't done or suggested anything right, so I might just as well leave until everyone shows up. I'm sure all husbands know what I'm talking about. I like to keep up with the post so I'll be looking in till family arrives this PM.      Stay Safe, S.J.

Oh fifedog I was at P&D yesterday and you got his last 48-86, so be gentle.
