Evenin' All.

What a long weekend, I be pooped. Long day at the museum on friday + lousey traffic on the way home, the munckin was out saturday running grampa ragged ( where do they get all that energy ?), big birthday festivities for a good friend most of sunday afternoon, but the straw that broke the camel's back was the "Kid's Klub Fun Run" at the museum today.

Hope everybody enjoyed the day with family/friends and, whether purposely or not ,  thought of the real meaning of the day.

Morning Folks,

Put on a fresh pot this AM.  Had a bagel from the dining car. It is hard to beleive that this is the last week of may.  Time flies when you are having fun.

Nice day at sister and BIL's. Good food as always.  Brother, his wife  and son were also there.  My brother and his son are driving across Route 50 on their Harley's this summer to celebrate his 50th.  They figure they will put about 7000 miles each  on their bikes.  I hope they have good weather. I have read that Route 50 in Nevada is pretty desolate.  Sure they will have a good time.

Have a great day.

Mornin' Fellas.

Busy weekend. Had to help Susan's cousin move back home on Saturday. Then her father made ribs for dinner so we stayed for that. Sunday I mowed the jungle, then Susan and I went grocery shopping, then we attended a neighborhood gathering then headed to Susan's father's for the evening and to drop off his groceries. Yesterday we stained 2/3 of the deck, going to need a second coat because the people that owned the house before us do not appear to have ever stained the deck in the 12 years they lived there. Then we painted the trim and ceiling in the spare room.

Interview after work tonight so no trains again. Disapprove [V]

Looks like it's been a busy weekend on the forum... tried to catchup but decided too much work! Wink [;)]

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy and humid 65 degrees. Going up to 72 today with clouds. I don't know if we'll see much sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have a lot of errands to run. Locally. Then, there are the usual chores around the house. I might get a quick nap in, this afternoon. All the outdoor work is done.

Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Good morning all,

It is a foggy day in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s.  Buckeye, we were just south of the pylon in Grandstand A.  Perfect seats for Danica's incident.  The crowd was cheering her on as she walked to Briscoe's pit.  Lucas commented he knows why the gladiator contests were so popular in Rome.  Watched the Victory Dinner last night.  What wasn't said was more interesting than what was said.  Young Marco looked very nervous up there as well he should have.  I had the usual fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Morning everyone!

Chief, glad for Frankie with Ming.  Sometimes we call Lia a little Ming when she shows an attitude.  I know Frankie will give him a great home.

Belated thanks to the Vets...my computer had some tooth issues, as in the dog ate through the power cord (the one from the transformer to the computer).  I'll try to fix that later.

Did actually grab a few hours yesterday and did some wiring on the layout.  Hope to tackle some more of that as I still don't have my CTT and it will be  a good diversion so I don't get too upset.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead.

God Bless,

Morning all. Temps really crashed overnight - only 44 right now with the brisk wind. Brrr. Welcome to Ming (reminds me of my favorite sci-fi villain)! Thanks for the heads-up about the book, Brutus. Good Morning all from Rainy Southern Ohio

Kurt-Take care of the injury.  Those staples can really open you up.  I bet you will enjoy the fireplace.  We have one of the cast chimina (sp?) and we use it quite a bit.  Between scraps from the shop and tree trimmins fuel is not an issue.

Chief -congrats on the new family member.

Fife - things cool off yet?

Doug - is your daughter's situation better?  She is still in thoughts and prayers

All take care and may God bless

Good morning all,

A huge sigh of relief blew thru SE Indiana as I was just informed Lucas passed the semester of Pre-Calculus!!!!!  Technically, he still would have graduated and obviously his GPA will still take a major hit, but at least he gets the credit for the semester's work.  Right now that is all that matters.  I never thought I would be this happy for a child of mine to get such a low grade, but that shows how humbling they can be.  I wanted to share the news as soon as I could.  This means his addmission to IU is still good and any potential scholarships are still good as well.  This is a huge weight off my shoulders as well.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

GOOD MORNING

Well 87 yesterday,43 this morning. no rain at all. We got up later this AM as wife did not have to send the gr/kids to school. Their dad was home. Garbage truck comes by twice, once for garbage, once for soft yard waste. So I tried to beat the second round as I had neighbors evergreens hanging over my walkway to the back. Decided at the last minute to trim them before the truck came. I got most of it out in time. So thats one more little job off my list.

I have not ran trains since sunday but I know they are waiting for me and it won't be long and I will need a fix. Did everyone enjoy their weekend? I hope so......S.J.

Afternoon guys!

Worked on my layout some yesterday and got my houses to light up again, old Radio Shack power supplies died and that is why the houses lost lights. Took out two defective 12.5 volt power invertors, one kept popping the breaker even after taking all wires off it and the other just didn't put out anything, both have internal problems, probally take them to haz-mat to get rid of in the electronics bin.

Added a type R transformer to the group of transformers and a small 4044 transformer(45 watt). That is now seven transformers for power and lighting on my layout. Put second part of lighting for upper level on my KW.

Took the wife to play miniture golf in the morning yesterday and we enjoyed it.

A happy Memorial Day Tuesday to all

"bout 85 and 70% relative humidity today, bright sunshine....feels like a MondaySigh [sigh].  Didn't get to go train watching this weekend, SWMBO had other plans, of course.  Moved some furniture out of the apartment to the house on Sunday, took most of the day, snoozed during the 500, saw Danica get in a tussel (love those brassy women!!!!), felt for Marco.  And of course, loved it when "SMOKE" got smoked by a flat right front, #9 DODGE is BACK, a nice DODGE Sweep of Lowes!!!  Yesteday had to futz with the TV's the power supply died on my Sony so I had to switch it out with my Samsung.  Now to find a power supply for the Sony.  It's only 10 years old.  My Quesar is 21 and still kicking!!!

My Boxcab CNJ #1000 will be in on Thursday, hope I can skip outta here a wee early to pick it up.  No LTS this weekend, I'll be working a "special" sale Saturday.  Sunday I have some stupid "scholarship" seminar for my hope soon to be sophmore in high school.  The school district sells the student list and we get contacted by everyone selling scholarship help, SAT PSAT and the like....and here I thought I got on the don't bother me list.Banged Head [banghead]

Ok off my rant....hope youse guys had a great meaningful weekend.  TILL Later!

Evenin' boys.  Sunny & 85 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Little one has ART nite at school, so I'll be there in the hour.

Phish - Yep, cooled down.  Problem is wifey got a bit too "worked up" yesterday (she had every reason to), and I kinda got worried with some symptons.  Keepin' an eye on things.  Did spend a few hours with a drink in my hand, and toes in the sand...for all it was worth.

Actually did paint the trim on my PLASTICVILLE tower I'm redoing.  Lookin' sharp.

Chief - MINGConfused [%-)]  ...as in Ming the Mercilous?

cheapclassics - Pretty cool that you got to be there.

Kurt - sorry, missed that report about your fingers.  Hope you are feeling better today! Kids just figured out they are out of laundry, after I asked them and then ordered them to go double check, just in case.  Sigh [sigh]  Back to work today and have 2 weeks of giving training, which is fun.

I've got a ton of train magazines to read now and also talked to a buddy yesterday to get help picking up the rest of the drywall for the basement.  Maybe he'll even help put some up?

Congrats on the food, CSX!

Evening!

CSXect:  Great news on getting back to the real food!

Brutus:  Offer still stands on the Drywall tools...Let me know when you pick me up tonght.

Bride wanted to go out for Vietnamese food...MMmmm Catfish in a Clay Pot!  Kids ran around the restaurant like crazy people...You know it's bad when the owner's 5-yo gives you dirty looks..Whistling [:-^]

Received a call from the in-line skating club's race results...Said they re-tallied the times???   My Bride won her division, and they're sending her a medal.  She called to make sure, since she was a DNF, and left a message.  She didn't sign up for any specific division, so there must be some mix-up.

Moving forward on the layout.  Contemplating a cannery, by Korber, since Bride likes canning so much.

Raciing Report for Mike C

.....While Mrs. Buckeye and I were eating out in the local Roger's Corner's greasy spoon this evening, Mr. Robert Rahal dropped in for a bite to eat.  He looked tired after this weekend.  Didn't get a chance to say hello this time.  He was driving a new Volvo tonight.

Hope everyone is doing well after the big holiday weekend.  Safest weekend in 38 years on the highways in Ohio.  We had two Buckeye drown in Ontario.  They appear to have fallen out of their boat due to high winds on Northen Lake Huron and with no life jackets and they did not make it.   Sad, but very preventable.  The wind will flip a small boat very quickly.

BTW, Mike C, I'm so sorry that Lucas has made the biggest mistake in his life.  IU = Clown [:o)]  Have you bought him some of those silly looking cream and crimson striped pants to wear. Big Smile [:D]

Chuck...I hope you are getting your bags packed for the OTTS Great North Eastern Ohio Museum Tour.   What freight is it that we need to hop on board heading north from Cambridge?  This time let's ride a boxcar and not the stock car with the chickens.

I kind of thumbed the o ga. on the Bay seems things are still going for more than I would pay. my last buy was in Feb. but I look, one never knows. My wife went to bed at 8pm, looks like the holiday fixens caught up with her, but she sure cooked plenty of food.  oh well TTFN,,,,,S.J.

Yes, Buckeye, all bags are packed. There is a coal train leaving Cambridge heading north. Too dusty. No more riding in a stock car. Box cars are ok. How about the caboose. Do they still use cabooses ? Why don't we just drive the Duesenberg ??

Jim,
I did not see the post in reference, but I'm certain you didn't mean any offense.

Fife - what did I miss? Another battle with the queen and the princesses? How is Chris' arm?

Chief - What's this about you importing a Ming? Wouldn't perchance be a Shar-Pei now would it? What do you need with a Chinese Fighting Dog? Confused [%-)]

----
Well it is official. I am no longer a student! Thumbs Up [tup] My final grade has posted (A-) which resulted in a final GPA of 3.93. Not bad for someone who in HS had a 2.73 average and in college earned a 3.20. I think I will forego the PhD and just remain a lowly MS. At least I got a hug and kiss from Susie-Q! Blush [:I]

Attended the interview this afternoon. Not sure how it went. I think I'm a great fit for the position, but no telling how they feel about it. Have to send thank yous tomorrow. Should I send them via email or postal mail?

Rained most of the day here - its all good. Cooled off a bit - but back to 95 tomorrow I think? Wouldn't mind a little of Sir James frost in the morning - my favorite time of the year.

Jim - no offense taken.

Brent - congrats! Good luck on the job hunting!

Kurt - hope the fingers heal up quick.

Jim F - did you get your Tardis you ordered yet? (I may have missed the final status on that).

Mike C - did you see anything about the tape review on Danica's accident in the pits? What's his name said she was out of her lane. Danica said what's his name was out of his? Which one is right? If you saw the race or the tape of Danica marching down the pit row - that is exactly what my daughter looks like when her dander is up - my daughter is the same size as Danica and also has dark long hair.

Have a great day tomorrow all!

Up late again.  Did another upgrade on the Conrail GP9.  Will look good lashed to the NS GP9 I did last night and today.  Today, yes.  Could not get it to respond and it was the first Electric RR kit I had done.  Then it wanted to run in conventional.  Waited until the CA folks woke up and called about 2 EDT.  Guy was puzzled.  Told him I had two more kits.  Then he said for me to change out the RC board.  Did and then thing fired up.  Defective board.  He told me to ship it back.  I had wasted two hours early in the morning [stayed up late like tonight]. Banged Head [banghead]  Well, this one tonight fired right up.

Brent, Sheriff was a Shar-Pei.  So Frankie wanted another one.  Sheriff was brown.  Ming is blue.  Fife, Ming as in the Ming Dynasty.

Time for popcorn as have not had any for days.  Yes, this late [or early].  Good night all.
