Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cool and sunny 44 degrees. Going up to 70 today with lots of sunshine.

Today is the drive to Cambridge for groceries. Gas prices have gone over the 4 dollar mark. Lowest here is $3.97. Highest is $4.29.  I have noticed less cars on the highway and slower speeds. Food prices have climbed up higher. Coffee is getting expensive. Folger's is $8.22 a can. Looks like it's going to be a long time before anything is done about it.

On a train note........ Lionel Gp-38 is running well and pulls a lot of cars with no effort. Now to start on the Budd cars for cleaning.

Dining car has rolled in and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Chuck

Good Morning everyone.  I hope that everyone is having a good week so far.  It has been on the warm side but we have AC and are comfortable.  Did not get much sleep the last few days as have concerns over someone at work.  I was VERY angry over some recent issues, but hey, I serve a God bigger than any issue.

Brent, go with the snail mail "Thank You".  While it may take longer to get there, it is not something that is quickly read and deleted.  They will have it in hand which says a lot more.

Finally got my CTT yesterday!  Some shady looking characters in there for sure.  Looks like lots of good information, with one exception, but I won't get into that here.  Having purchased the Legacy system, the information is timely.  Think I want to start a push for Kent Johnson for President!

Anyway, may everyone have a Blessed Day!

Dennis

Morning all. Cold here but sunny. Tried to dodge getting sprayed by the anti-skeeter-fogging helo this morning. If I grow a third eye or more hair, I know who to blame. Remembered I had class last night. Congrats to Lucas! I don't believe my oldest will have similar luck - but then again she doesn't have a job yet so there's plenty of time for summer school Wink [;)]

Any ideas for how I could fashion a sort of flexible sleeve that was attached to water columns in the UK to lead into a tank?

Chuck - About the same here. Comment on the news the other night that a gallon of milk and a gallon of gas are about the same price here.

Nice sunny morning here. Will be very warm and very humid today due to all the rain yesterday. Lakes are all full again after years of drought.

Busy day today - hope all are doing well!

Afternoon all.  Upgrades done on the GP9's.  Everything tuned.  No bad board this time.  BTW: Electric RR insturctions are not good at all.  Example of wiring diagram shows different board terminal.   Off to Raleigh on errands and the Legislative Reception.  Have a good one.

Would be glad too if I had time.  I've had these kits for 6 months and engines sitting.  Never done a steamer.  Think that would be easier as use tender and a teather.  Marty E has done Polar Express I know and maybe others.

Back from Legislative Reception.  Lots of big shots there.  Not many Legislators. Shock [:O]Laugh [(-D]  Good seafood and meat balls.  Plenty to drink [I stayed with Diet Coke as I was driver for another Mayor].  Even had SWEET ICE EAT. Wink [;)]  No grits. Disapprove [V]

Good rain.  TV time.  Later

Then kids carnival all the Awana kids are given game tickets for mostly homemade kiddy games and they win tickets  that they turn in for donated prizes. They have lots of fun. Free food such as hot dogs, cotton candy natchos w/cheese, and of course FREE POPCORN. The temp was about 62 so not great but ok. Tomorrow we are heading back up the ole thermometer into the 70s. No trains, no CTT reading today.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI, no check that, it is a FANTASTIC day in SE Indiana!  They had Honor Day at the high school for Lucas.  For those who have been here a long time, the following news will have much significance.  Lucas was awarded almost $9,000 in scholarships today!!!!! More than $5,000 is renewable, and the rest are one time deals that will help with the first year.  In addition we are waiting to hear on some cancer survivor scholarships that will be announced later this summer.  As of now, it looks we will be good for the first year with no loans!!  I wanted to share this news with all of you as soon as I could because you know the path we have been on with him.

Soccer season started as well.  We lost 2-1, but I had fun and made one or two good plays.  I had a little extra on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  Roy, I did not see the Danica incident when it occurred but I could feel the earth shake when she walked down the pits.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Prayers for Doug M - did anybody call him earlier?  Too late to call now I guess...  Hope he is A-Okay!

Congrats to RT on being moved in, hope he is settled and job is starting off well?!

Congrats to CSX for being back on the payroll!

Congrats to Brent and Lucas, way to go guys (and Dad)!

Sir James, Laz made a B-double e- double r- u - n, BEERRUN, so I might have to run the TARDIS over there first, then grab Doug, Kurt, Don and Chief before we hit your party palace!  Anybody else want a ride?

Got home, mowed lawn, watched an old I Love Lucy with the kids, sent them to bed, and chatting on emails with friends.  Pretty good day!

Blue Bunny makes these little one-serving icecreams now that are pretty good!  Peanut butter flavor was good anyway.

Evenin' all.

Finally beginning to feel half way alive. Man last weekend just flat wiped me out. When I last dropped a note in the pot last monday nite I had just started about a half a pot of coffee in hopes of staying awake til bedtime. What's that old line about the best laid plans of mice and men, seems I had forgotten to put the pot under the dripper. Guess if I wanted some coffee I could have rung out the dishrag. Brutus, Blue Bunny makes some pretty good ice cream in general. Thumbs Up [tup]

Can't sleep.  Must have been the two cups of tea I drank several hours ago.  Need to switch to decaf tea too.

Congrats to those who have found employment.  Can't say the same for myself.

Regarding Thank You notes.  I know it is considered the PC thing to do, but I actually did not like receiving them when I was doing interviews for a tech position.  Haven't had any interviews myself yet except with one employment firm.  Waste of time.

Been working at getting the house ready to put up for sale.  The more I do, the more needs done.  Waiting for a new patio door to be installed so I can replace deck.  Concerned about how long it will take to sell this house as houses aren't selling very fast around here anymore.

Haven't paid over $4.00 a gallon for gas yet but it is just a matter of time.  Milk is actually cheaper at $2.99 a gallon.  Sold all my gas powered lawn tools except for the mower.  Bought a battery powered trimmer, works good so far.

Think I will check e-mail now to see if any bites on the stuff I have for sale on Craig's List.  Some things go real fast others not so much. lol  No trains on CL yet.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear and cool 42 degrees. Sun is shining. Going up to 77 today with lots of sunshine.

Today is a less busy day. No errands to run. Just a few things to do around the house. I plan on taking it easy. Hope it works.

Found Folger's coffee, yesterday, at a little store for $5.99 a can. That's 2 bucks cheaper than Walmart. Bought 2 cans. You have to watch everything you buy.

Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Morning all from beautiful Southern Ohio

Blue skys and a little cool, but that's Ok as I have a couple of stumps to remove.  I spent most of yesterday cutting grass, my daughter's yard and mine.  Son-in-law has skipped out on her and the three kids a week ago.  The grass in her back yard was well above my knees so I doubt if it has bencut all year.  Grass cutting is the least of my issues with him.  Oh well, I must pray for him too.

It sounds like the prayers are working on the employment front for some, great!

I start night shift tonight so I'll be chacking in late and keeping the pot warm all night long and have it ready for those early risers

May God bless

Jim

GOOD MORNING ALL

We have bright sun this morning, going to 70s, I can handle that. No big plans for today, going to have some chow and then take a short walk. Plants are still alive but don't seem to have started growing yet. But then it has not been very warm either. If it does get warmer later the front porch and CTT may be in  my afternoon plans.,,,,Have a great Day.....S.J.

Morning all!

Good overhead shot of the El derailment in Chicago on the Today show this morning. One car is split between two diverging tracks. Looked like it was on the Loop to me as it was on a 90 degree turn with a straight diverging route - probably caused by them using 0-27 switches.

Rain is out of the forecast for the next 5 days or so. Low 90's for the rest of the week and weekend. Will also be very humid.

Mike C and Lucas - Big Congrats! Way to go Lucas!

Chief - good news about RT!

GregM - we will keep pulling for you on the job front!

Brent - if it is a management position - sounds like new policies for 2 certain Fridays in April and October! Maybe add those 2 Thursdays too!

DougdG - glad to hear you are feeling better!

SJ - the porch and CTT sounds good right now!

Wonder how Don B is feeling?

Regards, Roy

Morning all.  Sent truck to repair shop [something I did not wat to do].  Was up early and ready to do "my things" when TV station calls and wants a D--- interview.Banged Head [banghead]  Trying to make something out of nothing.  Especially this station.  Always trying to twist things into a controversy.  Now that messes up my train time I had planned.  Meeting this afternoon.  They would not wait for me to get changed for meeting and do it an hour before meeting.  Want it now.

Later.
