Fife:  Just watched the rest of the Black Diamond Video.  I needed to split it into 3-parts.  Kids.  He really makes it look easy.  I'm sold on the realtrax!  Thanks for the recommendation.  Great video.

Good Afternoon Y'all!

Fife, now if it was winter, I am sure you would have had those 'roos' on a 1:1 scale snowman!  My wife and I still talk about that....have to keep that in mind for when our brood gets to the teens.

Chief, you only need one light (even if it is a blinker) as folks are kind enough to take turns at the intersection.  In most of these yankee places, a red light is just a suggestion.

Got to help the bride make and take party supplies to the son's class today.  Was fun, but I had to leave to come in and was not able to stay for when the kids came back to the class.  Tomorrow is the big night for the graduation.  They are saying that the DVDs are available for sale, but I have not been asked to be on camera duty, so I hope someone has that handled.  Anyway, bride said that I was not going to stand at a camera as I need to take in the moment for what it is...she is right again.

HOpe everyone has a blessed night.
Dennis

Kurt, I also like the looks of the Realtrax but they sometimes can be a Realpain to assemble. My first experience with a small loop resulted in a couple of continuity issues, had to re-solder a couple of the copper tabs to the center rail. For ease of assembly, especially with kiddos, I give the Fastrack a double Thumbs Up [tup], except for the noise issue.

Evening all

Hope all are doing well and those not so are on the mend.  Gas was $4.01 and diesel was $4.65 on the way home.  I am noticing less traffic and folks driving slower.  I guess there is a silver lining if you look hard enough.  Got the plasticville barn today I won on ebay.  As soon as I get the farm out buildings I won, I'll put them on the layout and take somepics to get youralls opinion.

Fife was kind enough to offer some room on his layout for my Frosty Bar that I posted pics of.  Man what a guy.  So generous!

Dennis- A few days ago you mentioned a Ram and Buck mounts.  Would you post a pic?  I enjoy lookng at mounts.

Take are and may God bless

GOOD EVENING

Not a nice day weather wise, I don't think it made 60. But I feel a little better today, a long way from good though. My wife and 2 grandsons went to Weblos at the church, daughter stayed with me so we got to visit alone for a change and boy the time went fast.

I noticed theres hard times in Rosyville,The chief "fired" the squirrel and groundhog so the entire city staff is gone. Hats off to the chief on saving city money. No trains today but as always  they are waiting. Got banilla and cookies ifen you want to stop by.  TTFN   S.J.

Oops... I think I mis-quoted...I think he used scale trax.  The one with out the plastic ballast.  It looks like a great permanent system...Solid outer rails and a narrower blackened center rail.  I agree with Doug, and the ease of use of the Fastrack.  I did see some complaints on how fragile the tabs are on the real trax.  That's why I opted for Fastrack for the Christmas Layout.

Brutus:  Who's house are we meeting at tonight???  It's still pretty cold in Michigan maybe somewhere warm.

Realtrax looks great.  Hard to assemble [newest version].  Also they have thinned the center rail.  Now once assembled, I turn over and solder.  If you don't, you might have some "dead" sections.  Their switches, Dead [xx(].  If I could get Mikey Boy by the neck, I'd be in prison. Shock [:O] Now, folks on OGR are complaining too.  Poor quality control.  I think I will change mine out for Ross [want to work on how to mate without crazy track sections and also get roadbed the same level].

Back from Pitt Memoral Hospital [East Carolina Univ. Med School].  Dr. sent Mom this afternoon.  Did not keep her.  Dominica.  91 going on 92.  Brain aneurism 15 years ago.  Now really paying its toll.  She is refusing daycare [which she must have now] or assisted living.  Had daycare for her and she was so mean to them they left [several].  Gave her the choice.  Tough on me but told her she would accept daycare or packing her up and moving her near here at assisted living.  Still fighting me.  YUZ GIZ think you have it rough with teenagers.  Think Cathy [oldest] is going to stay a few days until I can find someone.

Did run trains today before I left for Regional Transportation meeting that I never got too.  DR. waited 3 hours to notify me Mom was at hospital. Angry [:(!]  [BTW: censored is one of the "smilies" they removed].  If Dr. had called as she should, could have gotten a stand in as very improtant Town was represented.

Later.

Chief.....I'm sorry to hear about your Mom and will say a prayer that your powers of pursuasion prevail.  I went through the same drill when my folks got to the point where they needed help but found some deal-breaking fault with every option.  Banged Head [banghead]  (I had flown to Chicago at my father's request because he wanted to discuss the dilema.)  If I make it to 91, I suspect I will hold on to my independence as fiercely as your Mom, bless her.  She's lucky to have you to do all of the worrying.  Payback's a bi_ _ _.

Dennis....I ran into the same wifely advice at my granddaughter's first preschool graduation at age 3 when I started to pull the video equipment out of the trunk.  She reminded me that it was an event to watch, to listen, to dream, to cherish.  Then when she realized that there was no one to capture the cherished moment for posterity, she panicked, did a 180, and barked orders for me to retrieve the camera stuff from the car.  Banged Head [banghead]

Sir James....glad your feeling better.

Brutus.....I beat you guys to the punch tonight and stuffed myself with goodies BEFORE reading the Pot posts.  Quartered a ton of strawberries and prepared two large bowls, topped with a way too much non-fat Cool Whip.  Wife criticized that the portions were outrageous, so I volunteered to finish what she couldn't.  She drained the bowl, out of respect for me of course.  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Morning Folks,

Made a fresh pot this AM.  Been very busy. Late meetings etc. Teaching staff is completely hired unless we pick up enough Kindergarten students to warrant another class.  Only need to pick up about 8 so it a realt possibility. Some folks just don't think, "Doh , Jr. is going to be 5, I guess he will go to school",  until they see the Back to School ads in July.  Last summer my previous school picked up over 40 Kindergarten kids from close of school in June until opening in August. Banged Head [banghead]

They are still puttering around trying to finish up the loose ends on the building. Banged Head [banghead]  Still several more big projects before we can get use and occupancy certificate.  We are now almost 2 months past the priginal date for substantial completion.  Newest problem is extremely high water pressure at town's water hook up to the building.  Pressure is steady at 145 psi or so, spikes to 170's in evening.  Fire Sprinkler supply pipe cannot have pressure regulator in it according to what I am being told.  The fire suppression system has a pump that boosts pressure by 49 psi when it goes into test mode or into action.  The sprinkler pipe is only rated to 175 psi so they will not allow the fire suppression system to be commissioned and put in service for fear that the pipe might not withstand the high pressure.  According to our construction manager normal water supply is supposed to be between 40 and 50 psi.  Town's water system guy doesn't seem all that concerned, but we've got a 20 million dollar building we can't occupy until they get this issue taken care of.  I called our local Mayor and we'll see if he can light a fire under someone to get things moving.  Wish Chief was our Mayor problem would be fixed by now.

Chief - prayers to you and your family for your Mom.  I have several friends and family members who have been through that situation.  It is never easy.

Don Baker - hope Chris is on the mend and you kick that cold quickly.

Have a geat day.

Mitch

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is 46 degrees and partly cloudy. Going up to 66 today with some sunshine. Needs to get warmer.

Today is busy. I have a bunch of things to do around the house. Looks like I will be mowing grass this weekend. I might get some time, later, to run trains. Need to do some work on layout too.

Chief...Prayers out for your Mom.

Dining car is here and ready for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Morning all. 43 and sunny! Usually raining before , during , and after Memorial Day weekend. Hard to believe it is almost June and the furnace is still on.  Youngest visited his kindergarten yesterday - he is ready to go now... Going up to Woodstock later today to their hobby shop to spend my gift cert. I have my eye on an MTH water column. Thanks, Kurt, it was a fun evening - I think I didn't ruin it by carping about how expensive it all was... Wink [;)] - Laz's new glasspak in the Tardis sure is interesting. There's hardly enough room for his 800 lb. bear though.

Morning.  Suppose to go to some Water Conservation Conference the Town Board wanted me to attend and Town paid for.  If Becky [lady who usually stops by and takes Mom places] can not take Mom to regular Dr. today and Cathy can't get there soon enough, I will tell the Town to go jump and drive back east to take Mom.  Got to get on the phone and see.  Pretty day here.  Cooler than normal but still comfortable.  Thanks for all the prayers.  Will work out.  I can't make it happen, in HIS hands.  Later
