I picked up a de-thatcher for behind the lawn tractor this week.  Today while I and the two younger Granddaughters oncover the pool and they clean the winter cover I plan on having the oldest tow the de-thatcher around the front yard.  This is the first year she can reach the pedals and I'm hoping it'll be good practice in going straight before I get her to mow for me.

I have a couple of chicken halves marinating and'll grill them this afternoon, if the rain holds off long enough.  After all this is done we'll hit the train room for a bit.

Have a good day all.

A quick good morning and gulp of java before taking the middle boy to play in the church band - he is nervous.  Beautiful day here. Hope it is where you are too.

Mornin' boys.  61 and chance of thunder-boomers all the live-long day.  Gonna have to take the boy to get an X-ray of his left wrist, after a tumble from his bike yesterday = my day is already shot before it began.  Oh well...

Chief - Thanks for checking for me.  I too had contacted Microscale, and was told the set I desire may take a year (standard answer?) to distribute.

Sir James - both your PM's got scrambled in cyber-space...sorry.

Morning, good coffee today!

Fife, here is a link to that store, I think Sir James 1 sent me this a while back:  http://pdhobbyshop.com/  PS - look up at the top of the CTT forum webpage and you will see a link called private messages.  If you are logged in and click on it, you should find your PMs, I think?

Have a good one RT, things are sure looking up for you!

Big storm came through last night, so I'm glad we brought in the bed frame and head/foot boards my MiL was stripping down to refinish.  Will have to get to work on stuff pretty soon, maybe time for trains later.

Oh yeah, Laz, we posted over each other.  Hey, we watched Evan Almighty last night too - I liked it a lot!  A little preachy though, LOL

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 56 degrees. Thunderstorms over the night. Lots of rain. Going up to 70 today with some rain later. Hope not.

Today is an easy day. Got all the mowing done, yesterday, and I'm glad I did. Ground is really wet now. Today I am taking it easy. Running trains later. Not much else new here.

Dining car was here and has left for " points west ". Later.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good Morning

Cloudy some rain expected. 50s today, 70s by friday. no global warming noticed around here.

FIFE P&D opens at 10am Mon - Sat eastern time. Try to get to Pat, he is the owner and handles all the shipping himself. Open Sunday 12 to 5 but Pat may not be there. They take turns working Sundays.

Use the web link that Brutus posted, it has all the info you need.Theres an 800 number for orders.

Well if I  run trains today it will be quiet ones, as whatever is making me feel bad is worse than yesterday. We really need some nice days to  get rid of the dampness. Take Care All,,,S.J.

Laz, just don't do what I did when I put up the pool.  With moving a few tons of dirt to level an area, then putting down a couple tons of sand and finally  putting river stone around the pool I started having trouble with my sholders (sp?).  I messed up my rotator cuffs, after 6 mo. with therapy and about two years I still haven't gotten back full strength in the sholders.

Afternoon all.  Early Church and SS.  Then came home went to pond.  Put a bag of pond fertilizer in the edge and fertilized the grass on the "fishing bank".  Why?  Who knows.  So I can cut it more often with weedeater. Sigh [sigh]  Going to put some fertilizer on front yard.  So I can mow it more often I guess. Confused [%-)]  Got wedding to attend this afternoon I guess.

Now for the biggie;

Don Baker just called.  Chris won tickets to some all day concert.  Took his girl and they went.  Had "right there" seats.  Came home last night around midnight.  Complaining of severe chest pains.  took him to ER.  Has colapsed lung.  Went to OR and put tube in the evacuate air in chest cavity.  He is in ICU but doing good.  Lung has already got 50% capacity.  He will recover.  Don is working two shows yesterday and now off to finish one today.  Wife is with Chris.  On top of that, his internet is messing up.  Prayers for the whole crew.

Later.

PS: that guy on Craigs List is full of it as a Christmas Turkey.  $400 for two JD signs. Shock [:O]

Best wishes for Baker and fife clans.

Hope Don's shows this weekend are indoors, it has been absolutely miserable hot since thursday. Hate to see the electric bill.

Been under the weather since wednesday nite, but feelin half way human today. Unfortunately wasn't able to make it to the museum friday, they unveiled a change to the layout. Looks like it might be a popular change with folks who like some of the operating accessories. Sounds as though there are some additional "modular" changes planned, I like that idea. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Ouchie - prayers for Chris and Fife's son as well!  I think Don said that his son had tickets to a "pit" so maybe someone hit him in the chest?  Hope all are well soon!

Mother-in-law is using my good sawhorses to strip varnish from old bed frame and head/foot boards.  I went to HD today and found a 12 foot board for a shelf in the daughter's room.  Tried to rout a round over along 3 sides.  I had picked up 2 sets of cheap plastic sawhorses just to work on these shelves.  Well, I'm routing away and all of a sudden it's getting harder and harder to go straight - turns out the sawhorses were tipping/sliding!  Oh well, I did a half-decent job anyway, although I burned the wood a bit.  Laz would probably give me a B-minus....  Some Old Mil would be very welcome about now!  Wife has been painting them, so I'm sure I'll be drafted soon to start putting up brackets.  Have to find my laser-level and stud finder.

No trains and can't now get into the basement unless I go outside!!!  Need to get this all done so we can get around in the house again.  Daughter's junk is piled up everywhere.

Storming now.  Good rain.  Lazy afternoon.  Put fertilizer all around as said earlier.  Then chopped the whole garden after sidedressing all of it.  Put down soaker hoses [which I hope we do not need this year].  Put tomato cages over all tomato plants.  While doing that, went next door and put out neighbor's house that was on fire.  Not much damage but if I had not been outside and smelt smoke, it would have burned.  He had not been home since yesterday evening.  Fire seemed to have started outside in pinestraw next to house.  HUMMM Burg was barking just before it was discovered.  Think he had a visitor.  Idot left his back door unlocked.  Nothing missing inside as far as we know.  OH WELL.  Think I can take a break now.  Later

PS: picked first ripe tomato.  Will be a few before picking another one.  Rest are smaller and green.

I hope Chris and Fife jr. are doing better, jrs going to hurt for awhile. As for Chris I can't help but wonder if that loud music had anything to do with his lung collapse(forgive me the devil made me write that) I spent most of the day on the couch, watched the LPGA,I  know its women but they look better than the guys, well most anyway. Then went to lay on the bed and fell asleep for an hour and a half. Feel likeCensored [censored]finally gave in and took a Celebrex, other stuff did not help. Get ready for monday y'all,,,S.J.

Best wishes for the fifepup and the Baker pup.  Keep us posted on the progress of each.

Very windy today in Buckeyeland.  Ran the trains.  I have a traction tire off of my K-Line Diesel.  Any hints on how to put one of these back on without taking the trucks off?

Chief...We haven't even planted our tomatoes.  In fact, two years ago, I got snowed on while fishing in Canada.

Buckeye,

I use one of those really heavy duty paper clips that I straightened out then with a pair of needle nose pliers made a hook on the end. Kinda like a shepperds crook. With the loco upside down push the replacement tire down, towards chassis, trying to catch the tire in the groove on the wheel. Using a small screwdriver to kelp hold it in place reach down with the hook end of paperclip and hook tire. Pull around sliding tire into groove much the same as an auto tire is rolled on. After it is on you can run the hook around a bit to even the tire on the wheel.

Just make sure that there are no children present, even with homemade implements replacing tires can result in some not quite polite verbiage spilling out. Shock [:O]

Laz, that's the difference between a pro and an amateur Bow [bow]

Full of banilla and too tired to move, turns out the temp was about 85 yesterday while I was doing all this outside work, which might explain why I got so worn out, not used to the high temps yet!  Good night, folks!  Maybe some trains tomorrow, if I can make a path to the basement door.
