Morning.  Out to set out more squash and tomato plants.  Then off to Miss Edna's for a visit with the gang [been a long time].  RT, hope Steve is there to finish our project.  Next weekend I will be in Roanoke VA for a Gander Mountain Grand Opening.  Really warm today with showers late.  Showers tomorrow and possibly storms Monday.  Got to go.  BTW: Glad our Doug M was not around the mess in Chicago.  Shake and Bake and Dougsnotagrump, stay out of the water. God bless.

Good Morning -  Yahooo Its the weekend.

Suppose to get in the high 80's again, threats in some areas up to the 100's.  Need to do some chores this morning, clean pool filters, clean back yard, possibly put up some patio lights.  Then be in the train room.

Not a whole lot of news here, that's why I havn't been posting much.  Tried to be unbiasd regarding my comments for the fellow contemplating DCS and TMCC/Legacy.  I did receive in the mail a VERY unexpected surprise this week!  Got a York car!  How about that!

Well dont want to waste cyberspace, so hope everyone has a GREAT weekend.

Good morning from beautiful Ohio.

We awoke to sad new in Central Ohio.  Mr. Mac, the owner and founder of our NHL Bluejackets passed away.  He was one of the most awesome people, a real down to earth regular guy, except he had a billion bucks in the bank.  He drove a 10 year old car and sent all his kids to public schools.  Buckeyeland will miss him.

Laz....Are you feeling okay?  No Friday night fishing because you are tired.  Somethings wrong with you.  Please go see the school nurse on Monday.

Rich....Happy Birthday from all of us at Rogers Corners.  Happy B-Day [bday]

Grayson..... Happy Birthday to you from all of us a Rogers Corners.  Happy B-Day [bday]  Keep those CSX trains on the track today!

RT....Congratulations on the new house.  Blue and orange are great colors for a train room.

May 10th.......????????????

Mike......Are you Hoosier about ready to throw a brick at your TV due to the political commercial?  Now you know how the Buckeye state is treated.

Have a good day everyone, including the Chief and his tomators.

GOOD MORNING ALL

Grayson=HAPPY BIRTHDAY

RT=congrats on the house, hope the job comes thru.Gov. paperwork runs very slow.

I'm off to a slow start this morning, just lazy. But at least we did not have to go camping like Brutus did. Nothing wrong with scout camping, but it's someone else's turn. Kind of overcast this morn. but in the 60s, 80 is gone for awhile. But we have green grass trees, shrubs and flowers blooming, I'll take that. Enjoy your Saturday,,,S.J.

Morning all. Happy B-Day [bday] to Rich and Grayson. Blustery and grey and cold today - temps really crashed. Storms last night. Too wet to do anything outside - yeah right so have to work indoors on the layout Wink [;)]

Happy B-Day [bday] to Rich and Grayson.

Buckeye...What about May 10th ????

Been a busy morning. Had a mess to clean up in the basement.

Wife left the water on at the stationary tub. Pumped out about 90 gallons from the floor. Rug got in the drain and stopped it up. Now, we have a nice clean floor. Fun job.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s.  Did some housework, did some trackwork at the YMCA, watched "Moonlight" and Numb3rs" last night.  Had bacon and biscuits on the dining car this morning.  Did some errands this morning and more scheduled this afternoon.  Lucas is scrambling to get ready for Prom.  Soccer game for today was postponed :-(  Buckeye, actually it is kind of nice to have the politicians visiting us.  It is the first time in 40 years anybody has had to campaign here.  Happy birthday to all those celebrating.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' All !

Sure seemed like a short nite last nite. In bed and out like a light b4 10pm. Sleepy [|)]

Chief, we had a visitor from the train museum in Wilmington, N.C. yesterday. He was pleased with is visit and the behind the scenes tour of the layout. Must be gettin old, forgot his name already. Sigh [sigh]

RT, Don't forget to keep records of all the expenses you are and have encountered with this job change and relocation, tax time rolls around far to quickly it seems.

Beach ! The beach is for tourists and kids, besides it is a real pain anymore what with parking, panhandlers and obnoxious/rude people. The booze ban has helped, now if they could get rid of the panhandlers. Give'em a free bus ride to S.F. Thumbs Up [tup]Big Smile [:D]

Gonna be a busy day, Mom & Dad got a fancy wedding then reception at Hotel Del, so we are taking the munchkin to his friend's B'day party then a B-B-Q at train museum.

Later All.

Grayson-Happy Birthday;  My present is a suggestion; read Proverbs and live by them.

CXSect- Keep up the great work!  I bet you are feeling a lot better.

It has been very busy around here.  I've been read the pot, just not posting.  I had to do a lot of reading for class today in Columbus.  Four more classes then off for the summer.   Beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel.

EVENING FOLKS

It was sunny 60s today, the high was 70 during the nite, a leftover from yesterday. Red Wings won today, I know kurt is probably the only one who might care, but it makes my wife happy. And that is always good. We had eggs bacon and taters for breakfast, its not grits and squirrel but I like it. Not a busy day but did some things and looked at the trains but no running.

Enjoy your sunday,,,,S.J.

Busy day.  Planted more garden [now have 42 tomato plants, 33 squash and zuc, 12 cucumber, 8 cabbage. 15 oinons, lettuce, spinnish, raddishes, carrots and three short rows of corn] today as was to rain this PM.  Only sprinkled.  More for tomorrow and Monday is suppose to be a wash out.  Hope we get a couple of inches [some did around us].  Dug a post hole in flower garden under maple tree [roots] and burried 4X4.  Installed fancy bird house on top for Pam.  Went to Miss Edna's and got new MTH catalog [throw up Wink [;)]].  Back to Lowe's Foods and picked up metal outside bench, Lowes Home Imp. and got insectcide for sprayer, seeds and bird food.  Put together bench for Pam and is now outside at end of front walkway.  Settled down to watch TV.  Ended up watching a late one, Queen.  Always dislike the old bird over the Dianna thing until I first saw this movie.  She did not know any better.  It was the way she had been taught.

Now off to bed.  Sleep tight and God bless.

Good evening, traniacs,

Massachussetts is ablaze.  Fire departments across the state tallied over 90 outdoor fires today alone.  Had only .3 inches of rain in April but thankfully it appears precipitation is on the way from the Midwest.  Dry as a bone here, sub 40 too.

RT......don't know how I missed your post, just read it.  Congratulations Thumbs Up [tup] on your new home (and train room)!  One more piece to fall in place and you will have hit the trifecta.  Stay with it, good things will happen. Funny, when I read your post I had just gotten home from visiting a buddy who recently closed on his first home.  A real project but structurally sound.  Needs a new roof, gutters, heating & a/c, and a lot of other TLC stuff to get it habitable.  Have paint brush, will travel.

Rich.....I also missed your b-day Happy B-Day [bday].  It does me good to see someone nearly as vintage/classic as I am.  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]  Unfortunately, I am not a C10.

Sturgeon/Jim....keep hammering away at the books.  4 courses before Summer....you must be on quarters or trimesters.  The journey will be well worth it.  How much more until you finish?

To all......anyone have any experience with medical insurance for pets?  I just started reading up on it, and it seems at first glance in the fine print there is more that is not covered, or covered with strings attached, than is covered.  And it ain't cheap.

Good night all.

Morning!

Early Church today...We're finding more of our usual crowd at the new church....

Ran trains with the Motor City Group last night!  Great time!  I think the limit for the Atlas GP-15 is about 20-cars...struggled to get up the grades, and had trouble controlling speed down grade...but success none the less!  Strange thing was that it worked better pushing 2-dummy engines, while pulling the 20-cars.

GO WINGS GO!

Just got home from camping - it was at Jefferson Barracks and designed to coincide with a WWII reenactment that included lots of armor (2 tanks and several other vehicles, both US and German).  My friend and I were taking our boys and this was their first real Boyscout campout - it was actually a camporee and they had over 650 scouts who camped, which was a record there.

Friday night was a terrible storm, so at the last minute, Dave decided not to go until Saturday morning, so I finally agreed and we just hung out and watched tv with the kids over at his house.  I'm glad now, because there was a lot of lightening and strong winds.

We got there and joined the troop at about 7:30 AM on Saturday.  There was also an all day thing with re-enactors showing off Revolutionary war, Civil war, and Cavalry stuff, plus some Vietnam guys with lots of dummy guns and ammo, Korean guys (2 were at Chosin Reservoir), an F1, and a Blackhawk helicopter that flew in, landed, and then flew out that evening to return to Fort Leonard Wood.  The kids had a blast and the actual WWII reenactment was very cool.  They were using pretty strong blank charges and you could really feel the "percussion", esp when the US tanks showed up!  One of their charges caught the field on fire, so the actors had to stop and put it out!

Saturday night, the temps dropped down to about 45 or so?  It was cold, but the new sleeping bag helped.  The cold made my blowup mattress go down a bit and it kept rolling me off, though!  We were very near some railroad track and there were trains about every hour or so it seemed.  So, I didn't get a lot of sleep.  I'll buy a nice stead cot if my son sticks with this.  Then, my son woke up this morning (Sunday) with a bad headache (sinus?), so I brought him home at about 5:30 AM and then went back to help break camp etc.   My tent is drying out on the driveway.  Man - I'm beat, but don't want to take a nap so that I'll sleep good tonight.

Big congrats, RT!  Happy Birthday to Rich and Grayson (did I already say that?).  Hope all are well.  I have a lot of clean up to do, but will be back later.  TTFN

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

This was reunion weekend at Episcopal High School in Jax. Fri and Sat nites partied with students from classes of '73, '78, '83, '88, and '93. Saw students and former colleagues from years way back including some I had not seen in 20 years. Was back on campus this morning for the Baptism of the son of one of my star students from the class of '88. I was his advisor from 9th thru 12th grade and taught him Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus. When he picked me as an advisor, several people said he was a handful.

I got a discipline referral from his Spanish teacher not very long after the start of the school year. I called Erik in and told him that was the first referral and there had never be a second or I would hang him by various parts on the great oak. He did an amazing turn around, now has a PhD in Physics, lives in California with wife and 2 children and works all over the world. Flew in from  Taiwan to be at the party Saturday night. This is one of those intangible rewards in teaching you sometimes have to wait a loong time to receive.

Needles to say, no trains yet this weekend.

Afternoon all. Had a good day serving a video director at church because I had a 4th camera, a mobile one, to use. It was fun though a long day - came home to chaos as the bride raced off to a shower, and I had a house full of surly kids. Think I'll put them to work and go play with some trains! Maybe there's a ball game on the radio. Sounds like a nice campout, Brutus. You made some good decisions there. Cooler here.  Bought the bride's mom day gift at a 'world market' they had after church.

And thank you Roy, visitors are always welcome.

I did put the K-line RS-3 and MTH Caboose, both in CNJ Coast Guard paint scheme, on the layout for a test run.  Just ran them again and loaded the engine into the DCS remote.  It has cruise and really runs nice  Going to see if I can lash it up with my Lionel Train Master in Lackawanna.  I have several prototype pictures of Lackawanna/CNJ diesels pulling freights.  The other stuff I got at York will have to wait till I get more time, spring outside work is still a priority.

We got .7" of rain last evening and night.  We needed it and it doesn't look like much ran off.  It was really dry for this time of year.  Grandson will earn his money mowing next week, may need to do it twice.

All have a great week.
