Hello all! Kurt, nice article. I really like the look of that #24 steamer.

Way to go Brutus! Haven't seen a godzilla movie in ages. But with the daughter; let the love keep flowing.

Berk, my first car, '65' Mustang, first new car, '79' mustang. The '65' was hit by an out of control Caddilac. I should've kept the '65' stang and restored it. (That and the '64' Grand Prix)

Restoring; I been off and on the past few months restoring my vintage '74' Gitane racing bike. The kind used in the Tour De France and other bicyle races. Simple cosmetics left to go but this bike can fly!!!!!!!!!

Best to everyone.

Congrats burk on mustang. my first stang was a 70 with a 302, second was 73 with a boss 302 in it (last year before they shrunk them)  3rd was 67 with a 289 hypo init. then I think the last was an 81 with a 4 banger automatic. I had my share before I basicly switched to trucks.

Evening all just pushing forward still no word (still working to get both done)  to confirm either way on either deal (selling home or fingerprints and job)

My mom had a green '73 Mach 1 sportsroof, or fastback, that had a 351 Clevland V-8 under the hood. It had chrome five spoke Crager S/S mags on all corners. It had narrow tires on the front, and wide tires on the back. She had it painted black not long before someone else backed  it in front of another car and totaled it. She had that car long before I was born, and there's not many if any pictures of it. Why did you switch to trucks later rtraincollector?

My mom told me that the first car she ever owned was an AMC Javelin. I'm not shure what car my dad for the first time, but he told me he drove an old '52 Dodge with a straight six under the hood. He said it was a big tank of a car, and somewhere along the lines of its life, it got hit by a drunk driving a car when it was parked next to their house, but it didn't total it out or anything. The first car I ever drove was my mom's 1998 Ranger pickup. It just tripped over 130,000 miles and I hope it doesn't give any major trouble in the future, because it's her only transportation.

berk my last truck prior to present one was a 1996 ranger with v-6 in it and when I sold it it had over 220,000 miles on original motor. infact the kid I sold it to still using it and that was about a year and ahalf ago. I got into 4 wheel drive as I lived in snow country basicly the bottom of the pocono's and blue ridge mountains.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 51 degrees. Going up to 75 today, with sunshine. Love it.

Today is a less busy day. Yesterday, I ran some errands and mowed all of the grass. Then trimmed. So, today, I can take it easy and enjoy the nice weather. I think I'll take some pictures outside. Buds on trees are getting green. Summer is coming. Maybe some train time this afternoon.

Dining car is here early. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

New car, eh? Congrats!

My 'first' car was a 1982 Pontiac J2000, friend and I took it mud bogging in the woods behind the HS and got it stuck on a 18 inch rut! Almost got the tow truck stuck too! Laugh [(-D] 1 week later I threw a piston rod going up the hill toward my friend's house. Next car after that was an '86 Escort (my parents hated me). First car I ever bought was 1982 Olds Regency, had a 308 under the hood... should have kept that car instead of trading it in on a '92 Storm. After that it was '96 cavalier, '00 blazer, '00 blazer, '04 Malibu Maxx, and now a '02 325xi. My parents have a '69 Cadillac Sedan Deville with the 472 under the hood. Really want this car but not sure where I would put it or what I would do with it. It was my Grandfather's pride and joy but has since fallen into disrepair and would probably cost me $10,000 to restore it... still has original paint and vinyl roof.

HEY ALL....Been a while, been busy with work, etc.

MY first car was a '66 Dodge Dart 225CID 6 with automatic then had a '67 Mercury Cougar 289 COBRA T10 4 speed (MAN that was FAST), '71 Dodge Demon (with a 6 then 340 then 360 engines), twin '68 Chargers (1 383 auto the other 426 HEMI 4 speed), 3 Road Runners I still own the Convertible, 1 440 4bbl/auto, the other 440+6BBl 4 speed.  Not to mention my HEMI Challenger 4 speed car THAT was A FAST car!  Trying to sell both the Wagon & Satellite.  I'll try to wrest the convert back from my sister after the other 2 are gone.

Have an interview today then a phone interview on Thursday.  Not making the money I think I should be here, so maybe it's time to move on.  I'll have to get a car(daily driver, beater, whatever...), since all I have is the COMPANY car.....yikes!!

Trains running really nice.  May be after cleaning the garage out, I may move back in there.  I'll have to get a portible A/C system for those hot SUMMER days (that last beween May & October)

Sir J, NICE layout!  Hope to see more of it!

Good morning all,

For all the newbies out there, It Is Another Beautiful Sunny Day In Southeastern Indiana with temps in the 70s.  I had a "Chief" night last night as my dad visited for a while, I checked on the status of the PT Cruiser at the mechanics, I worked on the lawn mower (JD, of course) to get it ready to mow, picked up sticks in the yard (darn squirrels), went to the YMCA for a half hour on the outdoor course, did some Second Life, and read the new Lionel Christmas catalog.  I slept well.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast and I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

RT,

Did your Ranger have the 3.0 V6 in it?I know that Ford put them in the Ranger, but I am unsure of the years.  I do know that the 3.0 was put into the Probe LX between 1990-92.  After the car was restyled for 1993, the GT got that Censored [censored] Mazda KLDE 2.5L V6.  The 3.0 V6 was a great engine compared to the 2.5.   I've had my eye on a 1989 Probe GT in northern PA, and I really wish I didn't buy a TV recently.

Good job Mr. Eagles, someone owes you a dinner out for saving the county that much money, NICE!!

First car -- bought my Grandfather's '54 Dodge with a HEMI, true story, didn't last long -- threw a rod. Then a new '68 Plymouth Road Runner that just screamed, got hit by a drunk 14 months later and totaled it .... I couldn't afford to keep it and rebuild but in hindsight I wish I had that car today. Had lots of fast cars after that then I got married............

My Mother learned to drive in a Ford Model T. The first car I drove was a 1948 Pontiac. Then a 1954 Chevrolet and a 1954 Buick. I drove a Ford Falcon to college and it was my graduation present. First car I bought was a 1964 Ford Falcon.

Beautiful morning in Jacksonville. Had 5 of 6 trains running in the dining room Saturday night for a little while, conventional and TMCC with LEGACY control. All went well. Nothing new on the train room as have been busy with yard work, house cleaning, and remodeling-new windows last week-new deck to be built next week. Final exams for my Elementary Statistics classes next week. New term starts the following week.

Would love to make it to York sometime. Appreciate all the reports from those who went.

I replaced a generater and a battery while I had it. It was quite an attraction at the high school. sold it for $35,not bad drove it a couple years and made a profit.Well the grass needs cutting but so does my hair, hair cut first, not sure about the grass don't have the mower ready yet.

Morning!

Happy Hug Your Mayor Day!

Interesting...$1.9m to delay construction???  I'm sure that reads reduction in today's terms with the construction industry slow down.

I learned to drive on mom's '73 MG Midget.  Later did a frame on restoration, including new vinyl on the top myself.  Needed to have a local shop machine the block and heads, but I could lift the empty block out by hand.  Machine shop motto:  'Speed costs...How fast do you want to go?"  I remember the MG being very finiky, but fun!  At 75mph the front end would start to lift.

My first car was a horizon mizer...I'm not proud.  It had heat, and a rear window defroster.  No radio.

Morning all. My first car was a '73 Dodge Charger SE - with the smaller engine. I bought it for $300 in a sealed bid at a church auction when I was 16. I was the only bidder. Boy, were they mad. After I bid, then I had to call my dad and ask to borrow $300 - LOL.

Have to deal with the aftermath of a bomb threat last evening called into our office that closed some campus buildings. Sigh.

Hi all

My first car was a 1961 Olds Dynamic 88 four door, a real land boat.  I got it when I was 15, and my Dad said I could drive it when it ran.  It took three years of scraping up money, rebuilding, and repairing before it was on the road.  Great lesson.  I really appreciated that car, and it set my attitude towards how to treat a car.  Bride says I'm OCD when it comes to my vehicles.  First car I drove was a 63 Rambler

Let's see, my first car was the impressive chick magnet...the 1974 Ford Pinto Wagon!Blush [:I]  My Dad told me "I'll help you with your first car the way my Dad did, I'll make sure it runs well when you buy it".  So, for $500.00, it was mine.  When the muffler started to go, boy did it sound mean....well, maybe not.

Chief, after all that money you saved, they are only going to give you a hug?  Hold out for the steak!  As for the 1.9 million in added construction costs, I'd have to make a comment about folks who have lost credibility.  Good Job, Keep it up Mayor!

Well, my son and I played the Wii Lego Starwars.  Kid kicked my backside....so I had to lay down the law.  No games till all homework and chores are done.  Rotten nasty 5 year old kicks tail on his father!  I also picked up one of the war video games, but he is too young, I will play it when they are not around.

Hope everyone has a blessed day.

What was with the bomb threat? Was it just a  prank or something?

Yesturday I had to cut my granny's yard. Her backyard is aCensored [censored]to mow, because there is a steep hill that slopes down sharply to a fence that outlines her pool. I the steepest part of the hill, or cliff, is about 75 degrees. Oh well, thats 20 bucks well earned.

I have been having some beautiful weather down here in Shelbyville, TN, nice sunny weather and 82 for the high temp. Suppose to be 52 tonight for the low. But when we usualy have nice weather down here, where going to pay for it sooner later with bad weather.

Wow.  I ran trains this AM!!!  Moved enignes in and out of storage siding.  Moved consists all around.  Man, that is fun.  Making them work like real engines with no hands except on the Legacy remote and switch handles.  Got to get my switch controllers hooked up.  Got switchers building trains and lashups backing in and coupling to heavy long trains.  Was fun.  Then went to Town Hall to type letters.  Back in time for several BIG showers.  Need to g feed the fish, deer and geese before going to Town Board meeting.  First item is discussion on opening a Rolesville Raptor Center.  Yes, Eagles in Rolesville.
