Morning all!

RT:  You're in luck my friend!  Rumor has it that you can get HD's for about $.10 a Gig!  Shoot me an e-mail and I can tell you where to look!  I think maybe a Terabite of space?  Laugh

That 'cow gas' tax extends to all livestock.  I don't quite understand the issue, or where the money is going, but PETA seems to be pushing "Socialized" livestock raising?  Their issue comes from reducing the carbon footprint of meat production.  Growing grain to feed the animals, is an issue for them.  It sounds like small farm pasture fed farm animals are just added into the mix, just 'cause they're there, even though it's supposed to be an excellent way to raise the animals, and have one of the smallest 'carbon footprints'.  So go out and hug a cow today.  uh... from the front.  Or collect the gas and send it to PETA.  Here's your tax!  and Here's yer sign.

Brutus:  Congratulations on the Architecture project!  Can you tell me more about the project?

Busy day today...Dentist trip to get the sides of a couple teeth filled...They tell me it's from over-brushing?  Then need to get clothes for the Children's Christmas production, and there's school.

Looks like we are signing up for Dave Ramsey Financial University class thru Church...Every week for 13-weeks.  We're not having money problems, but trying to learn how to make our money work for us.  He believes no debt is good debt, includng the house.  He had it all, and it sounds like the banks called his notes in, and broke him.

Good Dark Early Morning Y'all!  Getting ready to head in.  Late start, but thats because I am on call....so we never know when I will be home.  Hopefully, it will be a good one.  Nurses and techs seem to get a bit distracted this time of year.  Their minds are on shopping, etc.

May actually have help coming.  I have a friend from Africa who I had helped to get into school here.  He did well and now has a couple of years worth of cases at a busy heart center in Florida.  If all goes well, by the end of the week, I should know if we are actually going to be getting him on board.  Either way, it would still be 2 months before he gets here as a medical license in this state takes at least 6 weeks, and then credentialling, etc.  I am getting tired of all this work.

Well, Time to head out.  Hope everyone has a beautiful day.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good morning all,

It is warmer and rainy in SE Indiana with temps in the 50s.  You can tell what kind of day I am having as I am late for the coffeepot and I left my name tag for work at home.  Fortunately some one on my floor let me in, but re-entering at noon will be interesting.  Finished the set up at the museum last night.  Not exactly the way I want it, but it is serviceable.  Some other people brought some different items as well so we do not have the same stuff as last year.  We will have layouts in four gauges this year, N, HO, O and standard.  Did some eBaying and some Second Life.  A friend there is trying another relationship again and will inevitably be heartbroken at some point and I will have to pick up the pieces...again.  Oh well, it does build my personal interaction skills so it is not all bad.  Wife and I watched "Charlie Brown Christmas" last night and part of "Boston Legal".  Part of the show dealt with someone with Alzheimer's.  That and ALS (Lou Gerhig's disease) would be two of the worse ways to go.  I do not believe in self-check-out, but if faced with one of those options.....  Sorry to be a downer.  As I said earlier, it has been one of those days.  May work on Christmas and Hanukkah cards tonight.  On a brighter note, Lucas went to church on his own initiative for the first time in a long, long time last Sunday.  He even told his girlfriend about it.  Maybe there is hope in that regard.  I had bacon and biscuits again on the dining car for breakfast ( I would use B&B for bacon and biscuits, but given that the "saucy wench" fixes them, some people might get the wrong idea about what was being served and the Ogauge Overlord would have to lock the thread and everybody on the pot would be upset and so I will just stick with bacon and biscuits!).  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all. Pouring rain here - supposed to turn to ice and then snow later. I'm wearing my big boots on my rounds today. Of course, I have to go to meetings all over Chicago.  Nice the Feds finally arrested our governor this morning. . .

You can imagine Mike Singletary is also a heck of a motivational speaker too.

Dennis, hope this helper works out.

Can't wait to hear about the Chief's meeting .. go easy on him, their industry's in trouble. ;)

Kurt, I think you'll appreciate the Ramsey classes. Do I practice what I learned? Some... ;)

Mike C, I think you're stuck in the building until 5.  Interesting about teens and twenty-somethings... it's seems regardless of how much they were taken to church as youngsters, they have to come to 'own' their faith sometime. The stats on those who 'fall away' are sobering.  My dad has the big A. It's not pretty.

HI GYZ,

26 here this morning.  To get to 43?  Ran trains for a half hour yesterday all good, NO PILE UPs.

Not much else happening here.  Getting big storm maybe for rest of week?  Rian or snoa or both?

Afternoon Fellas - testing this to make sure it still works!

The project I've been working on at work has afforded me a brief 5 minute reprieve so I could hop on here... hope to get here a bit more often in the near future.

Lots going on around these parts lately... more on that later.

take care

Doug Murphy for Governor of IL.  Seems IL. Governor has been arrested trying to sell Obama's Senate seat.  I'm sure the Governor's seat will be vacant soon.

I second myself, and ask for an immediate vote by acclamation. All in favor? Aye! The ayes have it!  Thank you, thank you, Mr. Chairman, given our recent history of our past two governors having been indicted, arrested, and/or jailed, I hereby further nominate myself for Senate.

Doug,

I certainly don't think you would want the title Govenor, I mean you have 3 kids and a great wife, Illiniois Gov'nrs have a tendency to end up in jail.  So that would be out.  Now the state already has a Masiah, so I don't think you should venture down that path.  Chancellor, has had some negative connotations as well.  Now since Illinois is best known for Lincoln, maybe something along that line,  a whole new title, Abe-eator, or possibly even Conductor, given your train experience.  Or best, possibly Chief Emeritus.

Good Evening from wet Southern Ohio

I was pretty nice earlier today.  I got the house decorated with lights outside, and will finish the garage tomorrow.  I repainted a caboose and a boxcar to try and match my Franklin set, it is an odd yellow / orange blend.  It is closer but not quite right yet.  I may just live with it this way.  I also took apart and cleaned a track maintenance car I acquired.  It is really fast.  I now see why most of them, including mine, have broken hand rails.  It will fly right off the corners at 15 volts.

Buckeye – I received your car today.  Very nice car!  I will think of something special to take it’s picture.

Making chili for supper and the bride should be home soon.Chef

May God bless

Howdy folks!  34 degrees and raining in St. Louis, to get snow overnight!  Kids are hoping for a day off, but not me.  Wife will have to take off, as I have training tomorrow - if the kids' prayers for snow are answered that is Laugh  Watching some stuff on Ebay and working on track designs with rr tracks, but otherwise no trains today.  I need to remember to tape this trains show you guys are watching, it sounds interesting!

Deacon Jim.....Make sure you sign the car with your location and date.  I fear that the car will not be well received when it hits NC.

Dear Governor Doug.....I am sending you some trains.  Can I be a Senator for the Great State of Illi-bribe?

Probably caused by those MTH switches of yours. Laugh

I ran trans tonight and discovered that my decapod has a squeak, turned off the sound and it sounds like a side rod.  Guess I'll have to service it and see if that helps.

Good Evening,

It rained all day and we are expecting a little snow by morning. Not much just the tail end of the rain. I  received an e-mail tonite I will not go into, but it's sad to see how our own will turn their backs on others in need.

Brutus, we have banilla, root beer, hot fudge, peanuts, cookies and Alka-seltzer..And of course the trains if you want to hang around..S.J.

 Good Evening guys!

Yup, Chief I did see it!  Thanks!! I was very excited!

Was up to 75F today, breezy now and about 65.  Looks like rain tomorrow.

I'm fighting the good fight on this crud everyone has.  Lots of cold meds and tea with peppermint candy canes.  Getting about 4-5 hours of nappy time per night, just not enough for me.

Harley dealer has sent the Sporty over to their "BIG" dealership for diagnosis.  We'll see...

Finally got started on decorating the tree, I may get everything done by New Years Day...

Time for EXTREME TRAINS - hopefully without a lot of exerberance the host has..

See ya later!

PS Yeah Brent, nice to "see" ya around!

Reclinerized through the Extreme Trains.  DVR was suppose to catch it for me.  Watched a movie the ohter night that DVR was suppose to catch and when got to the end, it turned off.  Think TWC clock and Halmark Channel are off.   Off to bed after I grind a lb of Dunkn' Donuts coffee.  Think I will get pre-ground from now on.

Sir. J [and others], I don't think that person ment bad for the people in your area.  Just no one "cried" when the southern states' textile mills closed and furniture facturies closed due to "fair trade".  No one "cried" for the tobacco farmers and the tobacco companies that left lot of workers and farmers with nothing.  I drive by closed and empty factory buildings every day.  My Mom at 92, if she continues to live much longer, will probably have to sell the farms that have been in the family for years.  Some before the Revolutionary War.  Why, because we did not get our "fair share" when the tobacco program was "bought out" and the feds require you to have nothing before they "kick in" help.  "Sound a little bitter there, Chief."  Well, your Congressmen threw us [textiles, furniture and tobacco] a few crumbs and said, "You are taken care of."  I pray each day that the good Lord will find a solution for the American auto industry and others.  I feel the main cause of the Auo industry [and some others] problems today is caused by the Unions.  Had its place many years ago.  When I worked for Bell telephone years ago.  Part of that time I was on the CWA executive board so I am not anti-union.  Just Union greed.  Speaking of greed.  Greed of America's oil companies and supeculators [who go unscaved] has beed the main driver of the failing economy.  OH, can't touch them.  Its free enterprise.  On all of our backs is not "free".   Now I will stop editorializing and get down off of my soap box and pray, "God save America."

In this season of celebrating the birth of God's son who came to save us, lets remember to help those who are in need.  Our family, along with others close by, are not giving each other very much.  In stead of spending on us, we are helping a single mom in the community who's kids would not have a "Christmas".  You will find that giving to those who are in need is a lot better than giving to "each other".  One of her kids loves trains.  No trains for me.  Got to see how I can help him.

I guess I have made some mad.  Sorry, I love you all.  Good night.

Morning all!

Chief:  No hard feelings....It's obvious where congress's interest is, and it's not with the people.  It seems the jobless claims numbers took them completely by suprise.  Rather out of touch.  I'm sure congress is lining up with special interest additions to any loans to the big 3.  When the banks started partying, no one said boo.

Sorry I can't stomach that guy on Extreme Trains.  I'll watch trains on RFD.  Nice ride last night...Charlie, you can see that beacon all the way from Doug's place, even thru the Chicago Skyline!  Brutus wanted a joy ride up the north shore...

Teeth all fixed.  They said I clench my teeth, and when they flex, they get stress cracks, and eventually break off small pieces.  4-teeth in 4-corners.  I think it happens when I sleep.

 Morning .....

A quick stop by before work.  Watched the Extreme Trains last night, man that guy must have ADD or something...

Rough night last night, was choking on the gunk in my throat, so I double dosed the dayquill and I got 5 hours nappy time (yes Dennis, I know that's not good).

Cheif, we all have our differences on politics and since Bergie slapped my wrist last month, I'll refrain from comment, but, there is a lot of blame to pass around on both sides of the Congressional aisle.  We're all friends here and I'll just keep my yap shut. Bottom line, no sweat, it's all good.

Weeelll, it's off to see the wizard, maybe I can make it through the day.

Morning.  ALREADY!!!!!!  Do not sleep past 7:30 here.  Can set your clock.  Lucy jumps into the bed [actually there is a wide seat at the end of the bed she jumps on and then on up] and comes to give me huggs.

Rich, sorry for the "slap".  I think they are still good guys.  I've been unofficially officially slapped before.  Rich and Kurt, I really think all of the CTT gang hate to see anyone without a job and less fortunate than we are.  We may not agree but still love each other.  Outstanding group of people here.

Rainy and warm.  Front late getting here.  They are saying we might have some severe weather tomorrow.  We are hitting the road about noon [just guessing].  All of Pam's [mine too] activities are Friday.  Have to stop in Petersburg VA and shop on the way up [it is an "always"].  That I do not understand as we have the same stores here in three different malls.  Off to the kitchen to cook stuffed sausage and biscuits.  Coffee is ready.  Have a good one and God bless.
