BowBIG CONGRATULATIONS JIM!Bow

Day went fast!  We went to the memorial service, then to Walmart and looked at yet another laptop that we didn't buy.  Got ads and I'm going to see about one at about Midnight our time - should be able to get sale price online then if my wife still wants it then.  Missed one yesterday she wanted because the store sold out before we got there.

Buddy brought over a new-ish humidifier that was put on the wrong size furnace.  He put it on mine and hooked me all up with a transformer, humidstat and the works - good deal for free!  Then we all hung out all evening and played some cards, good fellowship.

Chuck - I'll catch you Thumbs Up

Looks like a lot of us had some fun today or at least got some stuff done!  RT - sounds like a nice one if your wife stole it!  Doug - did you forget you were doing drywall with me this weekend?  I waited and waited!  The pancakes got cold Wink  Sir James, I'll use the way-back circuit to get you a couple hours ago, before it all ran out of the carton!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

 I'm impressed !  CONGRATULATIONS JIM !!!!!

Reltivly quite here today, got all the Christmas Decorations ready to go up!  Also, been working on an inventory list of trains and inventory going to see about selling.  Either sell it, or make more shelves, would rather "modernize" and have fewer.

Checked the milage the car exchange program is going to be seeing, OVER 7,000 miles !!!

Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow, I have to go work a show in the early am, Then rest up for Monday.

RT, I think you may be right on that monitor....we shall see.

Well, we had a housefull yesterday.  Had eight adults and 13 kids.  My bride had arranged with several other families with adopted kids from China to come over as well as our kid's Chinese teacher.  Was a housefull.  My son is learning some important lessons, had an entire Lego City built up on his old Thomas train table....the other boys demolished it.

We had some great deserts though.  Wife made double chocolate brownies, I had made a couple of bourbon chocolate pecan pies, and a traditional English Trifle (John Baker from across the pond would know).  Anyway, it was all good, but now we have plenty of left overs.  Will take some to church, but will leave enough for a swing by with the Tardis.

Hope Laz has taken some game by now.  Our season starts in September and goes till the middle of January.  Lots of deer around these parts.  Of course, till I get some more help with work, I'll not get into the woods to get one....may have to shoot one off my porch. (just have to make sure he's not pulling a sled!Sign - Oops)

God Bless, hope everyone has a great week.

Mornin' boys.  Drizzle and 37 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Hopping the temps stay up so I can take the youngest to YORK/Glen Rock.  If we don't go, will be the first time in over 10 years.  My Cumberland viaduct is coming along.  Painted it yesterday;now for some artsy-fartsy detailing.  This project really has held up my progress (insert clucking poultry sound here), so once it's done, all the other tumblers will fall into place.

jefelectric - NLE #8432 arrived safe and sound.  We love that tape dispenser at the local P.O., don't we...?Laugh

rt - It is a Norman Rockwell kinda town, to be sure.  I 've learned the owner/FD capt has been very ill this year, so I'll let you know how things are.  One thing that Glen Rock is always good for: running the big scale sized engines on O-27 track!

Good Morning Chief

Good Morning Everyone Else

Things were a lot quieter around here yesterday as the kids must be wearing down some. I love my family of course but the quiet is what I have gotten use to. Except the noise in my ears that doesn't go away. I think some trains may get some exercise today since I have missed a couple days, need to keep the track dusted. 36 this morning with rain expected, turning to snow sometime tonite. yuck. Everyone have a safe day...S.J.

Good morning from St. Louis, MO!  It's 33 and overcast and looks yucky out.  Today, I have to do a science fair project with my son demonstrating boolean logilic with a few light switches I picked up.  BUT - he has to do the work and actually learn how this stuff works, so it will be interesting.  I love solving stuff like this, so to me it is fun.  I hope he gets that and gets into it.  Maybe if it was a videogame Whistling

Good Afternoon from Blueberryhill....

It is a rainy 40 degrees. But, today is a REALLY GREAT DAY.

I did it...I ran trains. Walked down the stairs and had some train time. Boy, was it dusty. I had to dust all 7 of the layout trains. I loved every minute of it. After 2 hours, I walked back up the stairs. Slow...but sure. Man, did that feel good !!! I will be spending a lot of time in the train room this winter.

Dining car was here this morning and we had breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.  I am !!!

Thats absolutely great news chuck!  I'm glad you got down there and had some time to catch up on some rail time.  I still want to come visit the layout sometime soon. Glad to hear that your leg is feeling good today.  Must have been the Turkey.

Back from train meet earlier.  Slept for a while. Then ordered some shirts [on sale] from BPS whose web site was slower than molasses on a freezing day.  Took 30 minutes.  Started to drop out and go to Cabela's and see wht they had on sale.

Well Chuck, you saved me some airline miles and Holdiay Inn points.  Buckeye and I had discussed us going and tossing your butt downt he stairs.  Now you know you can do it. [prayers answered]

Cold and rainy but I hear gun fire in the back ground.  Must be another carry conceal class qualifiying at my range at the pond.

Later

BTW: picked up two scale Lionel NS box cars for half what I have paid for them in the past.

Evening all. Great news, Chuck! Sorry we miscommunicated  Brutus, I was up all night waiting for the Polar Express to come by to pick me up to take me to your house. Sleeting / snowing here. After serving as video director at church, we drove down to meet my newest niece as my brother and his family were passing through on their way to Chicago. How easy to forget how small a one-month-old baby is. Didn't drop or crush her though.

Jim,

We have just returned from the east and want to congratulate you on your ordination.   I know it is a lot of hard work and long hours on US 23.

May neighbours respect you,
Trouble neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And heaven accept you.

I was really dissappointed to learn that TOOTS made it down stairs to the TRAINS.  I was looking forward to the TOOTS TRAIN TOSS.

Wonder if his trains "tooted: around the track or was it him that "tooted". Shock

Tubs of Christmas gone from under layout.  Then ran trains tonight.  No crackups or derailments.  Switched to different engines and changed out the bath tub gons for box cars and etc.  Getting NC box car ready to ship out.  Busy tomorrow.  Got to meet with Town Manager and Police Chief for a little chewing.  Then County Commissioners' Meeting, followed by Town's Christmas Tree lighting and then Town Board.

Will go ahead and say good night.  Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

rt - The train shop in Glen Rock is gone, but the trains were up and running in the town center building.  Stars of the show were a pair of PRR centipedes and a Big Boy.

York TOY show was allright, I guess.  I didn't spend a lotta money, which made driving back and forth in the rain that much longer. Did do a little Christmas shopping, and on the train front picked up a Lionel NASCAR flat w/1:43 LOWE'S car (yes, I collect race cars too) for $10.

fife, We didn't go to the show, even 30 miles in this nasty weather was to much.  Didn't really need or want anything special anyway.  Were there any nice display layouts?  Last time I was there they had pretty nice O scale and N scale modular setups.

Chuck - great news!  Glad you made it, man.

Got laptop for the wife (actually, she went out and picked it up) and finally got it to connect to the router.  Now, it is updating Windows.  I hope it isn't a hardware problem with the wireless modem!  I basically deleted all the connections and started over - I think maybe it was trying to connect to my wireless printer access point???  Who knows.  Maybe it was a typo in the security key or something.  I still need to upgrade the security stuff, but windows first has been a good plan in the past.

Also, my son and I worked out his Science Fair project.  He decided to take my suggestion and learn about computer logic (boolean logic) and circuits.  So, after some lessons, I drew out some simple patterns of 2 pole switches and he correctly "designed" circuits for logical AND, OR, XOR and NOR commands. Pretty Good!  Then, using 4 2-pole light switches I screwed to a board, a 9V battery, and a lightbulb/holder, he built a computer that correctly calculates whether you have the ingredients in a bowl to make pancakes.  The correct solutions include having Eggs AND Mix AND (Water XOR Milk).  If you have eggs, mix and either water or milk in the bowl, you get a lit bulb.  For our purposes, water and milk together do not work.  It lit up correctly and all other combinations did not light it up, so I guess he did a good job!!!

I've got half of a pumpkin pie and some redi-whip, who's in?

RT, no worries,  Actually, when I cook, the alcohol is cooked out.  Only a little for flavor.

Glad Toots is mobile and can get to the trains.

Had a good day at church.  I was a bit anxious on the services as I was supposed to work camera.  I have the Crud as passed through the forum from Doug and had taken some medication.  Good Lord lookin out for me and I had to cover lights.  At least I get to sit down and not sway back and forth while trying to hold a camera still.  Tonight, we had a special Thanksgiving service in which we heard a lot of what we have to be thankfull for.  One of our youth pastors just had a baby.  While that in itself is a common occurance, the fact that this couple has tried a number of times and have had miscarriages, etc., and followed by the fact that his wife's water broke at 20 weeks and she got an infection.  It is nothing short of a miracle that the baby survived to be delivered at 26 weeks.  He is on a ventilator and and has a long way to go, but he has already come a long way.

Well, I have an early morning, so I will say Good Night!

Good Evening All

Rain and sloppy snow today, still above freezing so just a mess out side. Suppose to be snow before morning. I intended to run trains today but the comfy couch and tv got me instead. Tomorrows not here yet so I'll plan later for it. Have a good Monday remember to push your chair a little further back in the morning.

Evening all from wet Southern Ohio

Had a busy day.  Church services this morning then we brought the grandkids home with us.  We finished decorating the Christmas tree with the kids.  It was fun.

Thanks everyone for the acknowledgments.  I can say it was the prayers and support of a lot of folks that made it happen, I did not do it on my own.  It was really neat to fully exercise the deacon ministry.

Jim F – That humidifier will be really nice as things dry out this winter.

Chuck – WAY TO GO!!!!!!!  Be careful.

Dennis – prayers for the baby.

May God bless

Jim
