Good luck was with me - she trimmed the inside of my ears for free Laugh  I guess to make up for all the "free space" on top she didn't have to cut?  Banilla?  I'm on the way!

Went to lake house and got there around noon.  Took leaf blower and blew all the leaves out from around house and all the buildings.  Neighbor had his big zero turn mower with vac system.  He sucked up all the leaves at his house and mine.  He did a wonderful job.  Wish I had him here at home as still got lots of leaves to get up.  Could not believe it.  Pam drove home and I rode in the back and rested. Dead Fell asleep early in recliner.  Now to bed. Zzz Later.

Good morning - all that was left was poptarts when it got here.  I sent it on to Chuck's to.be restocked though Wink  What's the word, Chuck?  Did you make it to the trains yet?  Sure hope you are doing a little better my friend.  Today I have to go to a memorial service and then we are hooking up with some friends we haven't seen in a while for an early supper (lunch + supper = lupper, they say) and maybe get a free humidifier installed on the furnace?  We'll see.  I did read Trains and Classic Trains at the salon last night.  I hope Biden really does push rail, it's such a sensible step forward in this energy crisis, which is not over.  Some lady on NPR said yesterday that in a few years the world population will go from like 6 Billion to 9 Billion, so that will mean a lot more drivers in the world etc.  We definitely need to give the railroads some tax breaks etc so that they can expand infrastructure.  Plus, a bullet train from KC to St. Louis to Chicago would make me a lot happier!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Morning all. Cold here but sunny. Went to breakfast with the men from my church small group as so many are out of town. Put up the tree and Christmas decorations yesterday. The bride and teens are going to Woodfield mall today - I'm taking the youngest to help finish a friend's layout. I'll be the one with a nailgun crawling around atop it whilst he 'directs' me. ;)

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 37 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  May be "dicey" tomorrow for the trip to YORK then GLEN ROCK...will be watching weather/road reports very closely.

Dropped off wifey at work, then realized there was a local train/toy show.  Netted a LIONEL NEW HAVEN Hi-cube boxcar (9605/MINT), and a Williams WESTERN MARYLAND stock car.  Picked up a couple scenery items, and I was in-and-out in an hour and spent $40.  Not-tooo-shaaah-by.

Morning.  Yankee wind, Yankee cold, Yankee graish black clouds and Yankee cold rain on the way. Banged Head  Out the door to do my 1.5 mile walk around the park.  Going to movie this afternoon with wife, second wife and Pam's friend/boss.  Will probably be a cold rain by the time we get out, if not before we go.  One of those stay inside and stay warm days.  BTW: put traction tire on Big Boy [the one the trashy MTH switch grabbed and cut].  Have to get the driver just right to get the tool [supplied] on the nut.  Now you have to stand on one foot, pat your head, chew chewing bum and sing Dixie at the same time to get tire on.  Actually would be easier if you have a second pair of hands.  Reason, traction tire is a LOT smaller than the driver.  I used two dental picks and two tiny flat blade screw drivers.  Once it got started around the upper half, it went on.  Getting it started was the hard part.  Later

Good Morning Chief

Good Morning All

Just checkin in, no real plans for the day. We have sun this morning but won't be here long as snow is forecast for  Sunday/Monday up to four inches. Of course when it comes to snow they are seldom wrong. My little ten dollar Marx car arrived and has proudly found a spot on the shelf. Good seller, shipped next day. Everyone have a safe weekend....S.J.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It was a cold morning. Woke up to 18 degrees. Now it is sunny and 33.

Today is an easy day. Legs are a little stiff today. I have to keep exercised. I have not made it down to the train room yet. I was going to try it today, but not now. Maybe later.  Should have built a first floor train room.

Dining car was here and well stocked. Breakfast was usual.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Doug, are you trying to make us all look bad putting up the tree so early?  Just kidding but I was'nt sure if you put one up at church or at home the way you wrote it.  I am grateful that I will be able to put up a tree this year.  Last year, I was in the hospital with emergency surgery on Dec. 4th-9th.  My youngest son had to do all the decorating himself.

Roger, thanks for the thoughts re digital camera.  I have to do some looking around.

I need to assemble my Walt Disney World train station that I got off of E Bay.  It looks pretty easy with snap together construction but I'm debating on wheather to put window glass in the windows.  If so,  I'll have to get some window material from LHS.  The station comes with a little box that has a station announcement sound in it running off of batteries.  I have to figure out how to change batteries in the thing without taking the station apart each time. "When all else fails, read the directions".

Still having trouble with my partial dental plate.  Developed a sore spot in mouth around Thanksgiving and can't get rid of it by rinsing with salt water.  Can't wait to see the dentist on Monday if I can.  This is aggravating.  This reminds me of a Civil War story in which Union General Mc Clellan is telling President Lincoln that he is not moving due to "sore tongued and fatigued horses".  Lincolin being fed up with the do nothing General replied, "excuse me general but what have you done lately that would have fatigued anything".  I'm paraphrasing but that was the jest of it.

Well, I think I'll go run some trains now as nothing else is going on right now.  Have a good day y'all.

Radio Shack use to sell an adapter that has a switch for ac/dc and another for about 6 different volt settings as low as 1.5 up to 12 I believe so you could cut the wires or solder wires from battery pack and drill a small hole and put a jack that the adapter would connect to (I believe it has 4 different sizes at the end) and plug that into station or in it and never have to change batteries again as it would run off the wall jack that you could have plug into your strip plug with your other 40 plugsWhistling o Oh I know of this as wife has one that she usaes for her organ

by the way my Package made it to the P.O. here in Columbia at 7:05 now how much you want to bet 1 he doesn't bring or 2 won't deliver it just put tan slip in box as doesn't want to do his job as normal lol.

My, I feel sore from clambering around atop my friend's fully scenicked layout trying to put in an El train loop with homemade stantions and an almost 3 ft long Atlas bridge.  But it sure was fun. I bought my youngest with me whilst everyone else was at the region's biggest mall. He made cakes with my friend's wife, whilst we worked around in the train room. Now to recline for a while - ATT has turned on all 500 channels for a few days. . .

Well it turned out to be option 3 of 4 ( 4 being he delivered it) He look at the name and address on the box and then thought not in this nieghbor hood and started to pull out and stopped real quick when I came out the door and asked me how I say my last name ( being the joker I'am)  I said it and asked how do you say it? Big Smile He laugh and said you got me on that one. Any way its beautiful for being 60+ years old. And it looks all original. Wife had me put it up on the shelf in the den next to her lil critter G gauge engine Banged Head Which tells me I get the box and the instructions but thats hersWhistling Yes it came with original box for it. It appears its been kept in there and hardly used like maybe christmas only for about 10 - 15 years then it sat in the box the rest of the time. the 3 instructions that came with it 1 was for a 1045 auto crossing watchman ( looks like mice got to it) and 1 for Lionel automatic accessories no 151, no. 152, no. 153, and no. 45N  and the 3rd instructions was for 153C Contactor it also came with that and I think original one from the 40's as the spring is worn out and needs replacement.

Chief, could you take a kid to see 4 Christmases?

Ray, hope your plate prob is fixed asap. Sorry to have put up the Christmas stuff early - we usually do it the day after T'giving. I think some of our fellow forumites have had reindeer on their roof for a while now though...

Running trains today. Somebody who will go unnamed in my house used the box I had saved to mail a certain CPI car... so I will have to go out and get another. I think I'm also going to sell a few trolleys and misc. to get some other stuff.  Hey, 500 pages, not bad!

Good evening and Congratulations Jim. Thumbs Up

Spent the afternoon cleaning up the leaves in the back yard, what is left can wait till spring.  Still have to do the final front cleanup when the reluctant pear tree gives up the last ones.

Good Evening All

Well with thanksgiving weekend here the kids have dropped by, in and out, no time today to do much. Two days of turkey and we just raided the fridge for other stuff. We put the turkey in the gravy and it is now in the freezer for another day. I guess I will just sit here with the banilla melting until Brutus shows up. Good nite all.....S.J.

Congratulations Jim!  It has been a long haul, but you've made it.  Gentlemen, we are in the presence of a scholar.

It has been a good few days....sorry  I have not been able to be here.  Had a good meal at SIL's, but I was way under the weather.  Friday, we ate in a old train depot in Woodstock, GA called the "Right Wing Tavern".  You can guess what kind of political images hung on the walls.  Was a nice place.  Then, wife was not feeling well either, so I had to drive the 4 hours home.  Once I got home, I felt a surge of energy and went shopping.  After about a grand worth of spending, I returned with a new Toshiba computer, and a bunch of other goodies.  Today, I went out and picked up a high speed router for the computer and it is all good!  Great to actually be able to watch all of Bob's update videos and not have the computer lock up.

One down side to my shopping adventures.  Target advertised the "Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer" in the special circular for yesterday and today.  I had gone yesterday, girl couldn't find one.  Went again today as the store opened and the manager said that they never came in.  Called Target's customer service and was told that 160 stores around the southeast didn't get any.  Well, I am not sure we will get one by Christmas.  Son would have loved it.....oh well.

Now, back to my computer.  This one is real nice, but we'd like to get the Dell working too.  This past week, I had left it on doing a virus check.  In the morning, my wife went to use it and the screen was dark.  I turned it off and back on and initially the screen starts normal....has Windows icon and all, and within a few seconds, whole thing goes dark again.  Upon close inspection, you can make out that the screen is still there, but too dark to see the mouse arrow, or make out any details.  Any suggestions?

Hope everyone has had a good Thanksgiving and has a wonderful week ahead.  God Bless,

Dennis

Hello to all...Holiday weekend has kept me busy with family.  My kids wanted to see snow..so I am back up north at the cabin until tomorrow.  My son built a snowman and snow fort with the aid of my wife and mother.  All and all a good holiday. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the high 40s.  Spent most of the day decorating the house and the tree.  Wife, Lucas, and I did not kill each other, which is always a good thing.  Wife and I went to see "Australia".  It was a combined western cattle drive, World War II, and anti-discrimination movie all rolled into one.  I had sausage links and waffles on the dining car this morning.  Congratulations, Jim, on the ordination.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
