Evening all. Nice day here - took the youngest out trick-or-treating in the early afternoon. He got tired after only 4-5 blocks -but it was so warm and sunny, it was a nice walk. Then I talked him into going out again later to visit some neighbors who just got home from work. Lotsa candy left for me. We watched Son of Godzilla for a while - love those Japanese monster movie - this was a particular dumb one. I had gone up earlier to pick up the middle boy at his day program - they want him a few more days which disappointed him, he's ready to go back to school  - I managed to fit in a side visit to a very nice hobby store - where they have tons of stock but full retail. I picked up a Plasticville coaling tower I've always wanted for $20. I was also looking at an MTH Premier truck with an ETD on it but no one could explain how it might work.  All in all, a very pleasant day. Oh, I worked a bit too - working more now. ;)  Beacon is on. If I haven't been missed tonight... I'm up for some of Dennis' ice cream..

Just renewed CTT whilst I was browsing. I realized it may be October - almost November but my last issue was the December one - yikes.

Morning!

Brutus
Jack, Chewy is doing okay on prednisone and still in the cone.  Healing slowly - she really chewed up her little rear end and leg Sad

Birthday is coming up, but need a tool for the basement projects, so no flanged wheels on it.

Brutus:  Yup!  Prednisone that's the stuff we used...Chewy will be fine in no time.

On the tool front...remind the Bride what you're saving in labor by doing it yourself....and that the basement will will get done faster with this tool...It works... sometimes.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' Buckeye.  Happy day after Halloween.  Clear and 41 at the buttcrack o' dawn in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Set your clocks back tonight folks.  Just had a concerned parent looking for her daughter knock at my  front door, looking for my oldest princess...who was in her bed. YEAHHHH!  Someone else for a change...

Good morning from beautiful Southern Ohio,

It is sunny and 40°F.  Breakfast car has coffee and oatmeal.  My bride is going to Cincinnati to go shopping and hook up with youngest daughter.  I am going to winterize the camper, and do yard work.  On call to watch grandkids if needed.

Wes – good job on the knee, be careful.  Continued prayers for healing

Jon – I don’t miss the splitting days at all.  Wood and coal was our primary fuel source for many years, and the splitter was me with a sledge and wedges.  Yes Chief, I hit my leg a time or two with either the sledge or the wedge.

Dennis – I never thought of flower to grease the skids on a train delivery.  Gonna remember that one!

Jim F – our last pet, a Yorkshire terrier is allergic to fleas.  One flea and her skin goes crazy.  Eczema sores etc.  Shots for infections and steroids to get it under control, lots of $$$$.  We use a shampoo called “Relief” from the vet. ~ $8.  Has Pramoxine and Colloidal Oatmeal.  Made by IVX Animal Health Inc.  It works real well. Good luck Chewy!

Kurt – I thought every project justified a new tool?

Buckeye – Don’t they recommend lots of fluids after blasting?  I’ll be in Columbus around then and if you can get out of your meeting I’ll buy.

Fife – been on both side of that one.  Oldest daughter was a real challenge.  She is still paying for bad decisions made.

I’ll check back later

May God bless

Jim

Morning all. Ate too much junk last night. Have to hide the candy from myself - candy and home-made chili - and pizza - and more candy - made quite the combination.  Sunny and beautiful here - Indian summer for a few days. So instead of raking leaves like a normal person, I'm going to try to fix the dishwasher. Something is making a horrific grinding noise. Probably not good.  Have a great day!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 48 degrees. Going up to a sunny 70 today.

Today is a good day. I'm a little stiff in the legs from all the walking, yesterday. But, it was worth it.

For the 10th straight year, no one came here for Halloween. There aren't too many kids on our road. Kind of miss it.

Dining car was here for breakfast and left for " Points West".

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Morning all.  SPman, agree.  The National Guard is NOT the regular Army.  It is for National Defence and for National emergencies.  Hats off to all those NG who have been or in Iraq.

Off to Miss Edna's [first time in over a month].  Have a good one.

Good Morning

Bright sun but not as warm as yesterday. 60s back next week.

Charlie and Kurt, you know where to find me tomorrow, I also have a cousin from Toledo going to be there in the afternoon. So should be fun even without many sales. WBs will do good though, always does. Problem is Lionel not shipping. He's only using six tables as he does not know what to take. He had more, sold them off to customers. Oh well it will all work out. Enjoy your weekend...S.J.

Morning All,

Been busy the past few days, had a little incident with Chris Thursay night.  He had another incident with chest pains.  We had to take him to the ER, as it turned out it was Pluresy.  He really felt bad that it was a "false" alarm.  Took some doing to convince him him that it was nothing to mess with, and to always advise us if the situation reoccured.  But alls well that ends well.

Had maybe 25 Tricksters here not many.  Had a really unreasonable customer yesterday.  He had bought a cartridge from us for his Epson printer.  Then the printer acted up and he contacted Epson, they sent him a new printer and a complete set of cartridges.  Then he felt that since he bought the Epson (original) cartridge from us, that we owed him a new cartridge.  Even though Epson replaced everything.  His position was that since ownership of the cartridge transferred from Epson to Us then to him, we also owed him a cartridge.  Can't believe how unreasonable people can be.  I told him that we only guaranteed the spelling of the ink not the performance.  Evil

Checked out the new Bob's video, didn't find the reference to Chief.  Disapprove

Got to get busy, painting reindeer today.  ALSO, it RAINED  here yesterday, suppose to be more this weekend.  That is really rare!!  Looking forward to it !!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

(Jack - I will post some pictures of the clubs layout and their tunnel soon)

Don

(EDIT)  Now this is REALLY  strange, all TV's stations are reporting a weather warning, go to channel 56, SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING !   Wow this can be cool, we might have some weather !!!)

Howdy folks!  Worked this morning after very little sleep last night. Haven't had one of those nights in a while, so I guess I was due.  Just couldn't fall asleep.  Sad  Stopped on the way home to take another look at the two saws I was thinking about at Home Depot.  Last week, one of them was $200 more than the other.  This week, the less expensive one went up $100?  Made the choice a lot easier.  So, since Birthday is this coming Friday, I went ahead and picked up the higher one - they only had one in stock.  Kurt - I always plan projects based on the tools I will NEED!  WinkThumbs Up

I'll be back later, stuff going on at home and then gotta scare up some dinner.  Might take a short nap Whistling

PS: Don - some people are greedy i-d-i-o-t-s.  Hope things go better for the rest of the day.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Milwaukee 6955-20 12-inch Sliding Dual Bevel Miter Saw w/ Digital Miter Angle Fine Adjust

1/2 price at HD.  Picked it up this afternoon.  I was looking at a Makita, but the sale expired on it I guess - price jumped $100 since a week ago.  This will help me crosscut some 2x10's and later some side panels for some tall built in shelves.  Plus - it's Totally Cool!

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s.  The wife and I got the housework done early, went to Batesville, hopped on a special passenger train ran by a bunch of Ohiozo people, went back to Greensburg and stopped in the Honda yard.  Saw the switch Honda will use and a siding full of autocarrier cars.  Went back to Batesville where we got off.  Went to Chili's early this evening for "linner", which was good.  Watched "Numb3rs" last night.  Had a mixed amount of different items on the dining car for breakfast.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

I'm ready for tomorrow, Ranger loaded and locked in the garage ready to go. Hope to see Kurt and Charlie. And of course my  cousin, not many of us left.

Brutus fire up the thingy and lets go somewhere. Banilla is ready...S.J.

Good evening everyone!  Woke up early this morning as I had to be at the church early to arrange production.  I was on lights, which is the best thing to be on if you are going to be there all day.  Finished up about 4pm.  Was a great marriage seminar.  For those interested, Dr. Gary Smalley was one of the main speakers.  Funny, yet had a great message.  I don't have any duties tomorrow (but always seem to be pulled into service).  Hope to get a little extra sleep with the time change and then have  a nice relaxing day.

Not much else going on the train front.  I get off call Monday morning, so I plan on getting my layout feet wet with smoke fluid!  Hope everyone has a blessed week ahead.

Dennis

 Good evening,

We moved the train tables to the library today, but could not set up as they had mistakenly booked our room for a meeting. That will be the last meeting until after new years as we are going to start setup on Monday afternoon.

It was a beautiful day here today, I think it hit the 60s.

Jim, We have used a lot of Milwaukee tools over the years with great success.

Don, You need costomers like that to make you appreciate the good ones. Smile

Watching the Texas / Texas Tech came here, a good game.  Also liked the Pitt / Notre Dame game.

Thx for the advice/info on dog problem, I think she is doing a lot better today, but still not happy with the cone thing.  I'm sure she'll be prancing and dancing when we get it off in about a week.

Thanks guys, yeah Milwaukee tools are great, I've got that circular saw that tilts and it's a good tool.  This one has a 5 year warranty and I played with the floor model extensively before I bought it.  Very easy and intuitive controls.

Tomorrow, I need to clear all the stuff away from my layout in the basement and clean it off so I can run trains.  Also need to put up a light fixture.  If there is any time after that, I'll play with the saw - gotta have priorities!

Brutus, before you play with that saw you should map out the shortest route to the ER.

Evening all.  Good day but a lazy one.   Went ot Miss Edna's and had hotdogs.  Came home and visited pond.  Elderly black gentleman I have given key to was there fishing.  Was there yesterday too.  He and two of his buddies come and catch a few fish and have a relaxing and good time.  Glad to see folks enjoy the place.  Then went to SIL's to get quarts of brunswich stew cooked by FIL's church.  Ate some while there.  Watched a George Clooney movie as a "fixer" on HBO.  Good movie.  Dodged deer all the way home.  Seems they are out and moving more this year than in the past.  Gun season has been in a few weeks so they are stired up from that.

SJ, don't know what you mean byu Ranger is loaded.  Only ONE true RANGER in this world.  Ranger Boats, Flippin AK.

Time to go stop the windup old clocks and the coocoo.  Go set the vehicles' clocks back too.

Good night.  Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite. [popcorn time]

Poor Chewey! That's a beauty of a saw. Congrats, Brutus.

Watching over a room full of teens for another hour or so. They're watching a scary movie. I'm watching them - I'm probably scarier...

Mornin' fellers!  This time change thing had me up and at 'em by 5:00!  It's 30 degrees outside, but the sun comes up an hour earlier, so I expect we should be up to 80 by lunchtime, no?

The coffee is on, then I'll "wake up my wife" Mischief.  She's the choir director and I'm half the bass section, so there's no slackin' off around here on Sundays!

The big Syracuse Train Fair at the NYS Fairgrounds was this weekend.  I had to work both days on the radio!  Sad

Morning gang!  Well, got called in dark early this morning and just about done.  Heading home to make a meal for Sunday School and then get ready for church.  I am tired, so I suspect that when we get home later, a pillow is calling my name.

Chief, great thing about having some good folk enjoy your pond....they take care of it and you have another set of eyes looking out for things.  I am sure they really appreciate the kind gesture as well.

Better get going.  HOpe everyone is enjoying the extra hour of sleep most are getting before heading to church.

God Bless,
Dennis

Morning!

Removed old vinyl 6'x6' sliding window, and installed 2-new 3'x6' Anderson Windows yesterday!  Koining 2-windows was new to me...3-tripper to the HD  Hardware set should have come with screws...online instructions, and Anderson guy at store said so...I guess I got the only set that didn't.  Did get to use sawsall to remove some of the sheathing at sill...I don't know why they installed that stuff higher than the studs.  Bride's happy.  Kitchen much warmer.  Slider was seperating at window seam.  We used backer rod to seal the gap temporarily.  Those large vinyl windows don't last long.  I think 3' in height may be their limit.  The vinyl isn't stable longer that that vertically.

Off to Church to set-up for band in Youth group service, then GV train show to see SJ et al.

Morning to all.  Woke up early due to time change.  Today is another busy day with the Dedication Ceremony at the school.  Hopefully things will settle down when we get this ceremony finished.  Our son came home Friday night so he will be there today.  Also my Mom & Dad and my Bother and my Sister and their families.  Should be nice.  Probably go out for an early dinner with them.  Yesterday we did some yard work, then went out to our favorite hot dog joint for dinner.  As always it was the best, two grilled dogs with chili, mustard and onions.  Yummy. Not too healthy, but yummy anyway.

Have a great day.
