Brutus

Well, the Tardis is ready, so I'll be over in a minute.  Need to run over and see if we can fix Doug's dishwasher, apparently it's making a hideous sound?  John Baker, I know you said the gritters were out, but I'm not sure that those are the same grits?  Or, do they put butter and salt on your roads as well?  Laugh  I hope things are okay at Tranquility Base and Chief did not have to break the glass!

There used to be a brick Tardis round the corner from my home, I was told it was demolished to make way for a block of flats. I suspect an American gentleman may have acquired it. Maplins are selling a Tardis for £15.00/$21.00 trouble is it is only 240mm/11" tall. wonder how all you guys can fit inside? Dos Brutus sprinkle every one with Angel Dust?

We have ice on our roads, when salt and grit(s) are added it gets an interesting flavour.Sad

I swaw a strange programme on childrens TV the other day called 'Chuggington' about a railroad with talking locomotives running on three rail track. Wonder where they got the inspiration?

Hope every one is prepared for the coming nastiness, the winter is forecast to be a hard one too.

Good morning all

Working night shift and things are getting wrapped up to turnover to day shift.  Paperwork to sign.  Going to be a long day as I have a funeral to help with later this morning, before I can go to bed.

John - HAHAHAHA.

May God bless

Morning!

Doug:  Try http://fixitnow.com These guys are a lot of fun and very knowlegeable.  For example, when you sign up, you need to reveal your prefrence of barley-hopps beverage.  I used them to repair our Washer.

Brutus:  Is Chewy a Lhasa Apso?  We had one years ago.  Entire back half would be ....how do I say this with a minimum of backlash...Oh well...The dog from the center of the back on back was pink, and warm to the tough.  Dog would go nuts itching constantly.  The oatmeal stuff, if it's what I'm thinking of is a good treatment, but we ended up givng her anitbiotics for skin allergies.

Sir James:  Received my GV reminder the other day...forgot it was Sunday.  I'll be there after Church, about 1:30pm.  Maybe you can keep yourself from buying all the good stuff until after I get there.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps maybe in the 50s for a high.  Went to the high school band concert last night with my dad.  Lucas' girlfriend was in the group.  Numbers are way down from prior years but they sounded good.  Jazz band also performed.  Good news is there is a set of quads all playing in it.  Bad news is when they grauduate, that group loses over 1/3 the kids in it.  Speaking of Lucas, he had a situation occur when he wanted to drop Latin and pick up another class.  All of his choices closed up on him, but he did find one open class to maintain a full class load.  I swear if I survive the next four years it will be a freakin' miracle.  Chick McGee on the "Bob and Tom Show" talks about the release only death can give, and you know, sometimes...... :-)  Anyway, watched a little of "Dancing with the Stars".  Cloris Leachman finally got voted off.  Work is a zoo again.  "Saucy wench in the kitchen" got up and made me fresh, hot bran muffins for breakfast in the dining car this morning.  A plateload is heading out to "Points East" with a stop at Buckeye's place for the Plasticville funeral breakfast.  There is nothing like a fresh hot muffin (or two or three) early in the morning:-)  I hope every one has a good day!

Keep on training,

Hey everyone,

A record 33 this AM at the ol' airport, 40 at the abode.  Frost on the windshield and up to 60 today.  So much for "global warming".

Played softball last night gametime temp in the 50's, reminded me of playing in March in NJ.  Lots o' wind.  We lost on an error at 2nd base.  That would have been the 3rd out and we'd have won, lost 12-11.  On to Winter Softball....

The wind wrecked the Halloween display again, tonight I'll take drastic measures to keep it up.  News at 11.

John F & Doug - nice!  The Plasticville Hospital and Soylent Green thing was hilarious!! Loved it, thanks!

OK I'm off to see the wizard, so we'll be back later!

Good Morning,

It is cold here in West Palm Beach FL for this time of year, 48 this morning for the low & a new record low for the past two days here in south Florida, up to high 60's in the afternoon. Didn't get the frost that anjdevil had in Jacksonville FL.

Global warming? I think that the North Pole is shifting or something to that effect, because the almost the whole East Coast of the U.S. is being hit by extremely cold weather.

Finished building my racoon proof trash can holder out of pressure treated 2 X 4's. Haven't seen the little guy in a few days but he might be arouind in another day or two. I don't want to hurt the racoon I just want to stop his late night feasts at my house!

A little upset with DirecTV, the bill is higher than I thought it would be and they are horrible to get any service from. My renter wants his own account for his area and I am in agreement, let him see how difficult & expensive DirecTV makes it for you.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny, cold day. No snow yet. Hope not. 36 degrees.

Today is a busy day. Grocery shopping for the wife. She is not happy about that. Prices are still high.

Leg  is a little stiff today. I think I worked it too hard yesterday.

Dining car arrived with lots of good things from " Points West". It must have not stopped at Roger's Corners. Will stop there on the return trip.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Direct T.V. is the worst company to deal with other than AOL. AOL tops the list try to unsubscribe from them sometime you better have an hour. Direct TV sell you a service agreement but then for them to send someone out it has to be doing what you say when you talk to them on the phone which you normally have to wait 15 to 20 minuets to get thru and it usually clears up or goes thru a reset on its own in 5 - 10 minutes in the meantime you missed a good portion of what you wanted to see and usually at a very critical point.

Hey rtrtraincollecter,

I agree with you about DirecTV being as bad as AOL but not worse than AOL(nobody is worse than AOL liers tramps & thieves!!). So far they sent a tech out to see what the problem was with my renter's DirecTV receiver and they replaced the satelite head, said the rerceiver was good and a day later the same problem kept happening. Also DirecTV said I didn't authorize a new receiver for my renter, it was DirecTV that didn't want to come out and fix anything.

All daid and done, I am very upset with cable TV and Satelite TV service of any kind!!!! P.S. have heard that Dish Network is even worse than DirecTV. If DirecTV don't get better I may just go with watching DVD's and say forget cable service!!

Well that was just great had a whole post wrote out and hit spell check and when it went to do it, it cleared my post. Oh well I'll do spell check my way I do it out of tools from now on not by the button up on tool bar for this post.

Any way as I was saying AOL is the worst they top the list of being a pain to deal with. When I had dish and thats where I had the problem that I had to have the problem going on when I finally got thru to them which it seemed never to happen as soon as they would pick up or I waited on hold 10 - 15 minutes it would magically clear up. for a while then do it again ( my pic would freeze up and I would have to go thru a reset and it wouldn't take a reset for a minute or 2 at the fastest. and then it would have to go thru a reprogram so you lost about 10 minutes minimum. I personally wouldn't have any of them but wife watches tv not me I would have that new box and a set of rabbit ears.

Good Afternoon everyone.  Hope y'all are doing well.  Only a few cases here today, but will keep me here for awhile.  Church has "Candyfest" tonight.  They are expecting 9,000 kids to show up.  I am on call, but will try to get by before hand to help out.  Wife has purchased a few hundred dollars of candy to add to the pile.  They provide a lot of games and activities that are good, safe fun for the local population.

I purchases a K-Line Plymouth set from Boscov's yesterday.  Free shipping and they had reduced the price down to $60. for the whole set.  I got the Kennecot Copper Corp set with yellow/green colors.  May still take the plunge on the work train, but I think I have pushed the limits of train restriction.  The last several days UPS has delivered several items.  Also got a Madison Hardware Tractor Trailer (Lionel), and a Lionel caboose nicely detailed in "Southern" livery.  That will go well with the Mikado that is waiting for the Christmas tree.

Brutus, I don't think you have to worry about shots from the Chief, his targets drop on the spot, and he is so cheap, he only fires one shot one kill!  He wouldn't waste a bullet on siding.  I would be more worried about the neighbor kids, the same ones digging holes behind the house.

Have a great day,

dennis

Afternoon all. Working at home for the next three days so I can go to some counseling sessions with the middle boy. Sunny but cold!  Hope Chewey is doing ok with the collar, Brutus. I'm trying to ignore the dishwasher  - but I'm going to check out the link you gave me, Kurt. Got to fix the sink in the kid's bathroom first today.. RT, John and Doug, LOL, you guys are very humorous.  Mike C., not looking forward to the next four, make that eight years of high school and college drama... hmmm, the youngest will be a H.S. freshman by then so make that 16 years - yikes!  Thank goodness for the trains.

Dennis, I have that Boscov' set - you'll love it!

RT, try AT&T's U-verse for TV if you can get it - works like a charm, cheaper than cable or dish out here and they're very responsive...

Doug when I moved here in the end of May AT&T was advertising Internet and there cable or what ever you call it . I called them and was told neither was available at this time hereConfused so come June if they offer it I'll go with it but who knows I already have there modem for the INTERNET just need to re-hook it up when they offer it lol.

Okay what were we all so funny about this time.

I've been kicking the idea of getting it ( KCC Plymouth switcher) also the NYC Speeder set they offer for a total of $100.00 for one of each don't think you can go wrong. I also was thinking about the southern passenger set for $109.00 as it has the theater end on the end car. That A unit has duel motors and I saw last night some guy on ebay was trying to sell just the engine for $149.00 Whistling

Just got done burgers and tater totsDinner that hit the spot the return trip of the dinning car you knowSmile,Wink, & Grin

Well will talk to you all later did see Bob had to lock the one thread today but I saw that coming as some just don't know when to stop pushing the button.

Today should be the last day on crutches!  I have a Dr appt at 10:30am tomorrow morning, and hopefully I will get the green light to put some weight on the "worse" knee.  This past 6 weeks has been an eye opener, to say the least.  I have a lot of catching up to do around the house.

The holiday's are in the air...I can smell it.  I'm patiently waiting for people to make the shift to the Christmas layouts for this year.  I can't wait until the pictures start popping up on the forum.  Best time of year, without a doubt.

Afternoon!

Just back from my whirlwind tour of the east side of lower Michigan.

Sir James:  I stopped in at Wild Bills, since I was in the neighborhood picking up Daughter's Christmas present...What a great place!  I was a bit overwhelmed...ogling the floor to ceiling boxes of trains, buildings and everything in between...I completely forgot my need for an EOT device, and walked out empty handed.  I wish that place was closer to my house.

Today was Ms. Tina's funeral at the Plasticville Funeral Home.  Her sisters, Twyla, BeeBop, and Boink cried their little plastic hearts out as they stood over her deluxe Plasticville casket.

If you would like to send a memorial for Ms. Tina, just send it to me, and I will pass it along to Twyla, BeeBop and Boink.  Remember they only take plastic. Laugh

Yeah, Kurt - Chewy is 1/2 Lahsa and 1/2 Shihzu, but this is the worst we've ever seen.  She's very bummed out about the cone man.

PRR A5 came - it was out on the porch all day I guess?  It was ice cold.  Very heavy and lots of detail!  clean the temp layout so I can run it - this Saturday after work, I hope!

Doug, good luck - sounds like a lot of stuff going on!

RT - sounds good, we had fries and chicken tenders.

Back in a little while....

Not much going on lately.  A post on the OGR Forum caught my interest about some Walt Disney World train station that was sold only in the park but has been discontinued for several years.  They have been showing up a lot on E Bay lately and I picked up one this week.  The box says HO gauge but I am told it is really closer to O Gauge.  It is modeled after the station at WDW in Florida which was modeled after the real one in Saratoga, N.Y.  It would go well with the 19th century trains.  Looking forward to getting this item.  It's a snap together kit so assembly should'nt be too bad.  Only one more week until the election and then we can see something on TV besides politics.  I hope the next one does'nt last for another two years.  Ray

Sounds cool, Ray - let us know how close to O gauge it really is once you set it up!

Okay, got caught up on some stuff.  Went to dentist today - Hey ma!  No Cavities Laugh  Daughter cleared out an area for a small table layout, so I've got to figure out what tub my o27 track is in....  More later on this developing story!

GOOD EVENING ALL

KURT- If Lionel would ship all the stuff WBs has ordered, you would really see a store full of three rail trains. Right now the store is down to nothing compared to when he has stock.

Well a very chilly day just made forty, but a few 60s have been promised by the end of the week. I started boxing for the show today should be done tomorrow.

Home again.  Big metal building wired [240 breaker panel, 4 circuits, 12 outlets around the walls and special outlet with switch for compressor].  Changed out all the outlets and swtiches in living room from beige to white [as we painted the walls white].  Ran back and forth to Henderson Lowes.  Problem was keys cut by Lowes were not right.  Went back to Lowes last night [dodging deer all the way there and back].  Found out they can not cut a Pella door key.  Too late to go anywhere else.  Took bad keys and bought a file.  Went home and turned on TV.  Took original key off my ring and started filing the bad key.  Tried the door about 5 times and suddenly it worked.  Did the other bad key too.  Had to go back to Lowes this PM to buy water heater [manager gave me discount].  Seems house had original water heater.  Was seeping a little.  Will have all new piping [mains, supplies and cutoffs] by tomorrow evening per plumber.  That should cover everything.  Will read "pot" later but this server is crawling and timing out.  Other forums are flying at bullets pase.  Too tired to mess with this one.

BTW: Fife, saw a flashing red light as I was returning home tonight.  Suddenly realized it was ETD.  The CSX was slowly heading toward Raleigh along side US1.  Was running slow but faster than it was the other day headed north.  Guess engineer was taking his time going Nawth as it was a REB. Laugh

 Good evening,

Boy is this site slooow tonight.  Got two server errors when it timed out just changing pages on the pot.

Don't know if you guys know it or not but Boscovs is in Chapter 11.  Offers were supposed to be in from purchasers on Nov 15, but I have not heard what was decided on the sale.

Well tomorrow I guess I will have to break out the long underwear to mow the grass.  With low temps and high winds I am not looking forward to it.  I did put insulation around the pond filter today as the low is to be 29 tonight.  I'm not ready for winter. Sad  Spent most of the day in the basement working on the dollhouse project.

PHILLY'S  ARE WORLD SERIES WINNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RT,

The N/S Train running east on the old PRR joined in the celebration, and blasted the horn as it crossed over the local hiway during our after game parade. I could still hear him going at it as he rolled into Philly. This place went crazy.
