Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s.  Had a guy quote us on new gutters and gutter shields.  Will never have to clean gutters again!  Woo-hoo!  Did some Second Life and eBay as well.  Watched someone win a million on "Deal or No Deal".  I had some more muffins on the dining car for breakfast.  I hope everyone has a good day.  Brutus, the beacon is lit for the Tardis, but I hope some one else can drive tonight.  I had to drive to work today and tomorrow as well.

Keep on training,

Morning all. Waiting to hear when my new nephew or niece enters the world today. Letting the bride sleep in too. Buckeye, praying that Mr. Stone will not visit. Roy, glad you're feeling better.  I have folks with  Master of Arts degrees in all sorts of fuzzy majors who can't write a lick. What is this baseball I keep hearing about - it's almost November for goodness sake - football season!  But I'm glad for Philadelphia and the state of Pennsylvania. Brutus, hope that A5 is working. I too was tempted by both Boscov's and the WDW station 'deals' - but joyfully ran trains last night. Swapped directions of some of the trains just for variety's sake ... More counseling today with the boy and now the school. Yesterday went well. Turned a corner.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Another chilly 37, but sunny morning in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Escorted one home yesterday from Middletown to the town of Fredrick.  Wrecked in his cruiser during a pursuit last week SadBrent, hope we didn't mess your comute home too bad (had Rte 15 shut down til 4).  Very blustery with flurries at the foot of the Catoctins.  Best moment was when we drove by Deaf School and all the kids were signing "thank you".

Buckeye - will you be able to glow in the dark for trick-or-treaters...?

Chief - Perhaps that CSX crew is slowing down so you can check them out...Thumbs Up

Baseball is my favorite sport and there's plenty of blame to pass around.  Start at the top --  commissioner/owners/PLAYERS SALARIES/length of season/price of tickets and price of BEER!  This game is not rocket science but it has turned into a huge greed pit.  I think we could apply all of the above  issues to every professional sport, the money is simply out of control, especially on the baseball field.  If I were commissioner.....................

Only true American sport. Thumbs Up  Did miss the games on TV due to meetings and the emergency run to the lake.  Was so late getting in at nights, no TV to speak of.  Well, except when filing my keys.  Buckeye, hope the stone is not there.  If so, I have a very heavy "sledge" hammer I can fix it for you.  No need to spend the money to get the Dr's to cruxh it.  I know it is heavy, drove an 8' ground rod at the lake.  Hard red clay.  No wonder my arms and shoulders are stiff and sore today.

Wes, glad the cruches are gone.

Well, got to get going.  Need to do some Town Hall time.  Have a good one and God bless.

...........Doug, the way the insurance companies work, they have some flunky that denies most claims when they come in.  Then, the claim moves on to another person if the client protests.  This second person then pays/denies, and it moves on.  In a number of cases, people do not push the point and so the insurance saves money.  Regardless, glad that you are dealing with the main issue.  It is a real condition and I pray things work out..............

God Bless,

dennis

DougM........don't surrender on this one.  I worked for Blue Cross for a number of years.

The employer determines what procedures and treatment protocols will be covered and what won't be.  The claims are received and paid/rejected electronically, no human intervention.  If the claims are being rejected, either (1) your employer excluded coverage for that particular procedure or treatment and/or (2) the provider entered an incorrect diagnosis/CPT code when billing Blue Cross.

Solution:  Check your employee medical benefits handbook first to see what it says.  For confidentiality, you may prefer to keep your human resources benefits folks out of the loop.  Get a human being at BC on the phone and have them examine the claim and walk you through an English version of the reason for the claim(s) rejection.

They often times discover the CPT mistake and advise you to have your Doc/medical provider rebill the claim using the correct CPT code; or they may just override the mistake and have the claim processed for payment.  There is an individual at BC that may be specifically responsible for your company's employee claims.

My wife works in HR and we have the same problems!  Remember, the person on the other end of the phone at BC or at the provider's billing office have to process claims using so many different protocols........why this country needs a single party payer system with one uniform protocol.  If you saw what these people have to do and know, you might be surprised any of our claims get paid at all.

Dennis......I could save you a lot of money, time, and hassles re the billing process and working with the carriers to keep the patients happy and rightfully put the money for services rendered back where it belongs, your pocket.  You could pay me a "train" commission.

Apparently yuz giz haven't had the problems with Comcast's (my ISP) "national email server" going down the day before yesterday.  Whacked my pc ID and my password, making me a nobody to them.  I sat on hold for 1.25 hours:  "Your call is very important to us (yeah, sure).  We are experiencing higher than usual call volume (no kidding).  Please stay on the line (for how many days?) and your call will answered by the next available customer care representative."  Banged Head  While waiting, I lost my internet service as well. Banged Head Banged Head

When I finally got a rep on the phone, was informed there was a major hardware malfunction mid-afternoon on the "national" server.  My response...."If you knew that, why didn't you folks just insert a recorded message telling us that......instead of inconveniencing a zillion customers like myself and tieing up all of your representatives saying the same thing over and over instead of doing something constructive?"  Then there was that awkward silence.  So you guys who have issues with your tv provider and ISP, changing to another probably won't help much.  They are ALL hopeless.

Comcast's music while I was on hold was turned down so low Superman couldn't hear it, so I didn't know if my call had been dropped or I was accidentally "hung up" on.  The infomercials informing me of the weather delay of the World Series game and the "buy more of our stuff," however,  came through loud and clear.  My wireless router is still screwed up. Banged Head Banged Head Banged Head

Chuck......sore leg probably means you are making progress building those Arnold Schwarzenneger legs back uo to speed.  Good news.

Laughed my rear off over comments on the demise of the plasticville citizen.  Great stuff. Big Smile  Wonder if the engineer and the railroad are going to get sued by the plasticville survivors.

DougM......what if Uncle Dougie finds out they are twins?  Prayers for a safe delivery.  Even better news with the middle boy's progress.  Hang in there.  16 years goes by quickly even if it means you age 32 years in the process.

MikeC......glad Lucas was smart enough to make a mid course adjustment with the Latin.  Like English, lots of rote memorization is require for both grammar and vocabulary.  Been there.

Brutus......remind me sometime to tell you my story of when a bunch of punks used my garage for target practice with their chinese stars.  One whole side trashed.  On a somewhat related note, the news last night reported on some town here in MA where the residents are restless....seems a nearby outdoor shooting range began using old bowling pins as targets and the ricocheting slugs were finding their way into people's homes a half mile away.  Hope Chewey's skin clears up.  You may want to read up on adding more fat and oils to Chewey's diet.

Belated congratulations to the Phillies on their World Series title.

Wes......crutchless at last.  Congratulations!  Call Chuck for some rehab tips for the leg.  Rumor has it his consultation doesn't come cheap.

Buckeye......I had so many issues with the inability of "educated" employees to write.  Had to cut them off from sending any free-form correspondence to outside customers unless checked first by a manager or co-worker.  Internal email was just as bad, horrifying actually.  Reflected poorly on themselves, their manager, their department, and the company.  I thought they should be ashamed they studied everything but how to communicate.  Had their managers put it in their reviews as a developmental need, then brought in an outside source to do conduct English 101 and effective business writing (attendance mandatory with a test at the end).  A sad day when co-workers whose native tongue was not English had to be pressed into service to screen their writing, but it got the message across.

Roy......glad you are feeling better.  You too Brutus and DougDGDennis, sounds like your pain in the neck isn't going away any time soon......heal thyself.

Have to go and beat someone up.  Tire dealer yesterday damaged all 4 alloy wheels on wife's car while installing new tires and doing an alignment.  Gouges on rim edges AND on the spokes.  Installer must have been under the influence or was a 4 year old.  Wife as livid as I am.  The fix will be expensive, and I will be looking for a loaner car when ours is tied up for 1-2 days.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Got the OK from the doc to ween myself off the crutches.  It's amazing how you forget how to walk in 6 weeks time.  I threw one crutch in the trunk and using the other one.  I think I would fall down a lot if I didn't.  Knee feels good, just a little weak.  6 more weeks putting weight on it, then I can start some real rehab.

Buckeye - Good luck with the stones...

Town Hall time adn it is chilly in here.  Warmer outside [us REBS repelled the Yankee cold again].  Reminds me, got to go home and pick all the peppers and green tomatoes.  Need to pick up pecans as they are falling.  If I don't, the crows or squirrels will pick them up for me.  Need to leave as I have gotten on too many of the staff and their nerves as uneasy.  Seems you have to stay on some folks "behind" to get thigs done.  Can give you more reasons why it take so long.  Got new Post Office and handicapp space is 6 spaces from front door.   Since it is in a strip type shopping center, staff says the owner might argue he meets code for complete building.  Staff just met with him today.  I brought it up during Town Board meeting two weeks ago.  I told him to tell guy he has until tomorrow or he will not get approval for anything else in Town. Shock  Why has it taken staff two weeks to call the guy? Banged Head

Got this package at Town Hall from CA.  Told them to be sure and have it xrayed.  Might be a bomb. Shock It was not so put in the truck to take home. Laugh

Jack, thanks, but the hospital has folk who do the billing.  I get paid by the hospital which works out great for me.  Our demographics and patient population dictates that greater then 70% of our services are done gratis.  We are in the 9th poorest congressional district in the country.  If I hear that they are having difficulty collecting from the companies, I'll swing them your direction.  Who knows, maybe I can claim a finder's fee and put it to wheels on rails program in my house.

Roy, glad you are back.  Missed your presence and glad you are feeling better.

Sorry for your mission Fife.  As honorable as it is, I am sure it is most difficult and sad to lay another to rest.  Too many, just too many.

Buckeye, watch out for Chief's swinging hammers.....remember the leg? then again, he'd probably hurt himself more than you! (just funning you Chief).

Have to eat my wheaties Saturday as our church is doing a simulcast to a few hundred other churches with a program on "Fireproofing your marriage".  They have several speakers and the program is supposed to start around 9am.  I have to be there much earlier to set up and work the light board.  It is supposed to go until around 4 or 5  I think, but anyway, it will be a long day.  I may even have to give breaks on the cameras as standing for a regular service is a lot to ask, never mind a full day.

Hope everyone has a blessed day,

dennis

Prayers for no pain, Buckeye - I've had two myself.  Got 1.5 hours off in the middle of the day while we about 500 plus government employees stood around watching the bomb guys go in and out of our building with sniffer dogs etc.  No bomb, just a threat - thank God!  Although, after 1.5 hours, I was starting to think, okay - blow up already so I can go home!

Buckeye, sorry about the stoning.  Chief is on his way with the sledge hammer.  Pain should subside in a week or two.  (But really, hope you get that taken care of quickly and back to being a thorn in a certain rebs side)

Brutus, when I was with the FD, we used to get weekly bomb threats at federal buildings and around colleges, it would be daily during exams.  We didn't take it too lightly.  Just wish they would have made examples of the ones caught.

Well, been told by SWMBO that we (I) will be carving a pumpkin tonight.

God Bless,

GOOD EVENING ALL

Not a lot going on today but managed to finish packing for sunday. Ah the old days of train shows, tag a fair price and go home with some money in your pocket. Now it has become more like a day out with few sales to show for it. I did have a couple of very good shows when I was selling flat cars w/diecast trucks and a truck trailer for $20,I still have a few but they have been on the table twice now..Oh well enough of that. Got new Atlas and Weaver catalogs nothing that jumped out at me. Banilla is ready I hope it stays cold while  Brutus goes after RT.   Nite All     S.J.
