Phew!

Managed to get back on the forum. Why do they muck about with these things? It usually takes me several days to find my way back into the system after they have fertled with it.

Less and less or is it more and more things are getting user unfriendly!

Morning!

Doug:  Wha?????? ER?????

Brent:  I'm with ya on this one...Dump the bike.  That's too much trouble...Nice pics though!  Is that yellow one your next?  Shiny!

MitchRR714:  Keep me posted on when you'll be at the Gratiot Valley Show.  I plan to be there in there early, before noon.

Thanks for the props on the crane...I'll post some pics later today.  I also finished stamping the 2025 on the repainted engine...took about 8 trys to get it to where I wanted it, position, and stamp quality, but easy to do.

That pretty much puts and end to my train projects....all finished.  Maybe I need to finish wiring the UCS's...

Morning all,

got an early case today and then I am outta here.  Have a few things to handle tonight, but latter tonight the Marine Corps Band and Drill team are here to kick off the "Toys For Tots" program for the year.  Only admission is one toy.  Don't care if you are one of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children, another branch of service, or just a civilian, they are impressive.

Probably won't get to the trains till tomorrow.  Hope everyone is doing well.  Doug, not sure the problem, but will lift him up....God knows.

God Bless,

dennis

Morning to All,

Just a quick stop by to grab a cupbefore I head out this AM.  Been keeping up reading posts, but not replying.   Had great intentions of running trains last night, got home early.  After dinner came on and answered an e-mal, sat in chair and bam, a spell came over me and I reclinerized until 10:30 then tried to go to bed.  Of course after a 2.5 hour nap I was wide awake,  so then I watched end of Phillies - Rays game and most of Letterman before going to bed.  I hate when that happens.

Take care,

Mitch

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 50s again.  Obama will be in downtown Indy today so lots of traffic tie-ups.  Good news is that I have a dental appointment tomorrow and using a sick day (one of the few perks of state government).  Work was a bear again yesterday (I think one of Laz's).  Watched part of "Deal or No Deal".  At the end, guy had a choice of $1 or $1,000,000 or an offer of around $400,000.  He went for the case, guessed wrong, went home with $1.  Not sure if I could have lived with that.  I had some cinnamon bread toasted on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin' Fellas.

The game this Saturday will most definitely be interesting. PSU is by far and away the most balanced team in College Football on both Offense and Defense. Only team to have their O and D ranked in the top 10. It remains to be seen if there is a college defense that can stop PSU's O. PSU 35 OSU 17

Is there another Brent on the forum I'm not aware of?

Planning Susie-Qs b-day party for next Saturday. Her aunt's b-day was a couple days ago and we typically celebrate their b-days together, so her uncle is bringing the meat and I'm doing the rest. Should be a good time.

Oh yeah... Phightin' Phils are up 1 game to none!

Mornin' Boys

Up to 80 today, rain and wind,  outside activites may be limited.  I have to get some inventory pictures taken for my internet then bills to be approved and submitted.  Happy happy joy joyBanged Head

No word on the HOG, thank goodness I upped my towing coverage through Harley Owners Group.  Same tow guy and he remembered me (I think that's a bad thing...).  I can't ride today anyway and tomorrow looks like all day rain.

Here's something odd.  The kids are off from school tomorrow, but, there still is a football game.  Is that normal?  I don't get it......

I got something this AM I thought was really funny and thought of Sir James and the Michigan gang:

Michigan Law:
The Michigan State Police
are cracking down on speeders heading into Detroit

For the first offense, they give you two Detroit Lions tickets.
If you get stopped a second time, they make you use them.

Q. What do you call 47 millionaires around a TV watching the Super Bowl?
A. The Detroit Lions.

Q. What do the Detroit Lions and Billy Graham
have in common?
A. They both can make 70,000 people stand up and yell 'Jesus Christ'.

Q. How do you keep the Detroit Lions out of your yard?
A. Put up a goal post.

Q. Where do you go in Detroit in case of a tornado?
A. To the Detroit Lions Stadium
- they never have a touchdown there!

Q. What do you call a Detroit Lion with a Super Bowl ring ?
A. A thief.

Q. What's the difference between the Detroit Lions and a dollar bill?
A. You can still get four quarters out of a dollar bill.

Q. How many Detroit Lions does it take to win a Super Bowl?
A. Nobody knows and we may never find out.

Q. What do the Detroit Lions and a possums have in common?
A. Both play dead at home and get killed on the road.

Have a great day, I'll check in later!

Doug - Hope #2 is doing well, and everything is OK!!

Woke up yesterday morning and fires were out in the Fontana area (near Nascar track), fire contained and controlled, no serioud damage.  Today, same thing different location, this time near the Getty Museum in LA, a couple of freeways have been closed this morning.  Reports are indicating they expect containment by noon, if the weather cooperates.  This Santa Ana wind condition is expected to run til next Wednesday.  Sure looking forward to the rainy season!

Havn't run much trains lately, just havn't felt like it.  Did try for a while yesterday with a ABA set that I upgraded to TMCC.  The upgrade is fine, the electronics are great, but the engine doesn't have the motor or drive train to pull more than 2 or 3 cars.  Very disappointing!  Might need to consider adapting the body on a different engine frame.

If you get a chance check out the thread "5th ANNUAL NEW YORK CITY HOLIDAY TOY TRAIN WALKING TOUR", submitted by NYC fan.  He really did a great job, a good thread!!!

Hope everyone has a great day !!

Good Morning,

QuestionStill trying to mettle through some of the quirks with this new website system. So far everytime I post a reply it goes straight to my private email, and YES I turned off or disabled email replies. Also have to sign-in like a totally new person everytime I try to log-on.Question We need a more user friendly site in my opion. Banged Head I have emailed Bob K & Bergie about these things as well.

Thinking about going to the February train show in Deerfield Beach FL, as the last one was a big success.

Getting a little cooler down here in West Palm Beach FL area, will be a help on the electric bill as I won't be running the AC all the time. Also gasoline has gone down to $2.76 a gallon near me, might be lower as that was a day or two ago.

anjdevil2:  I'd be offended if it weren't so true...I can't believe people still show up for the games.  What a waste.

Supposed to run trains this weekend, but everyone seems to be watching the U of M / Michigan State Game....WHY?

Uof M stinks like the Lions...why watch either?

Good Afternoon from Blueberryhill....

It is another beautiful day in Ohio. Sunny and 62 degrees. We had a frost last night.

Today is an easy day. I have been walking around w/o the walker. A little stiff, but it feels good. Slowly but surely.

This weekend I will go down to the train room. I am looking forward to running trains.

Dining car has been here and we had the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Lucy, I'm home!!!!  Actually been home for some time.  Been busy and then had to feed deer who are saying, "Why don't he write or bring us corn?"  This AM, trimmed all those long hanging limbs on all those ceder trees.  4 pickup loads stacked higher than the cap.  We have big burning pile on the common property at the lakeside.  Mowed grass this afternoon.  Yesterday afternoon, installed an on-board charger for a buddy.  Then guy came and trenched in my electrical cable to the big metal building.  I backfilled the trench.  Went to Cracker Barrel for dinner.  Rested after all of that.

Got to see a picture or two of Susie-Q.  Too good looking for that old codger she lives with. Laugh   Time for popcorn.

OH, saw some skid marks and where car had jumped the ditch.  Was on the highway between lake house and Henderson.  Figured it was a Princess from Maryland out testing the highways after getting her license.  Whistling

Prayers, Doug.

Laz, I'm gonna try and catch you giz at the after-golf victory party, then gotta run get RT and some of that blackcherry, sounds like he was holding out on us last night?  JD for Don, Old Mills, Banilla, Zuchini Bread, homemade chocolate chip cookies....  Sounds like a good party to me!  Beacons on!

Kurt - EXCELLENT work!  Looks really great!

My copy of Lionel Nation 2 showed up today, but we're watching Survivor now.  I saw that Deal or No Deal and I kept saying "Take the Deal", but he was just greedy.  I would have had over 600K if I was him at that offer.  I think he was supposed to get $10K for something, but I can't remember - they offered it if he could keep his BP down or something?  So I guess he got that as well.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

HOWDY

Trip to the dentist for repairs was a success but haven't done much this afternoon.

Doug I hope issues with your son go well

Brutus won't let me play with his new train, I offered to hold it for him till his basement was finished(which I figured would take awhile)and of course break it in for him.

Lions are so bad they can't fill the stadium for sundays game so no local tv.save the sponsers some money since nobody is watching anyway.except me I get a nice nap watching them.

OK lite the fuse on the thingy, banilla and black cherry are waiting.  S.J.

Good evening Y'all!  was not a bad day.  Did a early heart and then worked out the call schedule for the rest of this year.  Had to work out issues regarding holidays.  You would think that with only two rotating call, it would be easy, but it works out that the same guy would have taken both Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We worked it out.

Tonight, I took the family to the Civic Center here to watch the Marine Corps Band and Drill Teams.  Some spectacular things they do.  I was waiting for my son to ask why I don't do fancy moves with my rifles the way those guys do.  Just ain't no way that tallent resides in this carcas.  I think the most impressive move is when the inspector goes up the ranks and just stops on a dime.  Turns toward the marine and the marine does a few fancy moves, in which he demonstrates that the magazine is clear, and in a very dramatic move, twirls the M1 through the air right into the hands of the inspector.  That is followed by the inspector doing a fantastic demonstration of rifle handling skills, only to toss the rifle over his head, back into the marines arms.  Simply amazing.

I was notified that I also won a Southern bay window caboose and some other items recently....I hope SWMBO doesn't get too mad!

God Bless,

dennis
