Mornin Boyz & Gurlz !
Been up a while enjoying my coffee, as well as working on some halloween cars, on the patio. So nice outside early on weekend mornings, no car traffic, kids going to school or any other noise makers.
It has been miserable here with the humidity, unfortunately just enuff to be extremely irratating but not enuff to rain. Seems the mountains to our east are ringing most of it out and there isn't enuff left by the time it gets here. Oh well, at least we aren't having to deal with the stuff that NOLA mite be getting. Just don't think I'd want to live in an area that is right next to the water AND below sea level.
The munchkin spent thursday nite with us and he wasn't real happy with grampa when I had to go to the museum on friday morning. Would have liked to have stayed at home with him but there were only two of us signed up to run. Sure be glad when all these vacationers are back to the museum.
Got a new halloween car idea to work on, went by the dollar store yesterday looking for some monsters. Unfortunately struckout, however I did find some skeleton hands, about the size of the old style silver dollars, and bones. Thought I'd use the hands as stakes on a flat and the bones as the load.
Hmmmm ! Wonder if I could attach the plastic trucks to the bones and use them as a car ????????
BACK TO THE LABORATORY !
Now where did that rascal Egor disappear to !

Good Afternoon everyone!
Sorry I have been away again. Still waiting on help. HR should have their collective necks rung. Had a good candidate, but HR took too long and nickled and dimed the guy. I have done quite a bit of work on this and told them they needed to get this guy. Now I think I will let them do the searching and deal with recruiters....will cost them a whole lot more money in the end. Till then, it will just be more of the same for me.
On Friday night, we had the premier for the movie at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. The Cathy family sponsored it and they pulled out all the stops! It was a wonderful affair with ice sculputures and fanfair. I was impressed with everything. Had my neighbor who owns the railroad along with his wife and his VP who also was the engineer for the movie. They got to meet Kirk Cameron, which was a great thing for them. They also got treated very well with lots of kind words and gestures. The Cathy's also gave everyone care packages with lots of materials to build strong marriages. This was to a crowd of 4000 people.
On the way back from Atlanta, we came down I-75 and while the wife was sleeping, we came to a point where the highway is right next to some NS rails, along comes a nice lashup and they were blowing the horn...wife just smiled and said, I know you planned that!
I hope to be able to check in tomorrow. I am on call, and so far there are no cases scheduled. I hope it stays that way as I have been asked to man a camera for a concert tonight. We just purchased 5 new digital movie cameras for the church services and it really kills my back to stand there the whole time...I will need the rest.
Fife, we had a little incident at the church Friday night while a number of us were in Atlanta. Seems a couple of folks came by and through a brick through one of the windows on a glass door to the church, followed by a mollitoff cocktail. The security camera taped the whole incident. Thanks to God, the flames went right out, but they did have to replace the carpet and door to that area entrance. From what I am told, they should have enough evidence to make some arrests and prosecute the perps.
Well, I hope that everyone has a great week ahead.
God Bless,
Dennis

Afternoon all. Video directed at church this morning with a good crew of camera people.Had to sound out Don's post - glad it was translated. Lots of wisdom there and from Laz - I think this is a good lesson for him but I am surprised how much it meant to me that he was on the team - I will help him find another meaningful activity he sticks with.Glad to see Roy and Jack back for a spell.Basement looks great, Brutus! I had a Leinenkugel for you and Kurt last evening.Daughter and her girlfriends want to camp in the backyard tonight - with temps supposed to be in the 90s overnight and an a/c house beckoning, we'll see how long that lasts... ;)
Scary attack on your church, Dennis. What were they thinking? We are planning to go to the movie when it debuts here - lots of nice local publicity for it.One of the ATT tuners went on the blink - so they're coming out tomorrow (!) to swap it out.
Doug Murphy 'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...' Henry V.
Evening!
Back from dinner at the Olive Garden. Very good dinner. Chicken cooked correctly, not over oiley. Usually it's hit or miss. We go there because the kids like it, and are usually well behaved.
Dennis: Congratulations on the movie, and opening night! Can't wait to see it. Scarey stuff with the coctail. I hope they get those nuts.
Met with audio leader at Church today. He's ready to have me lead the audio group for the youth group bands. I start Tuesday. I hope I remember what all those knobs are for.
Brutus: I'm in for tonight!
Kurt
GOOD EVENING ALL
I think the chief needs to upgrade from his seven inch screen. I'm old and I can read this just fine. We have had a hot day with several more to come, but no rain expected. I just goofed off today inside was more comfortable but I know the good times are slippin away. so no trains, just food, PS2 golf, and a nap. Have a great holiday...S.J.
Brutus I am ready, fire up the thingy and I'll get the banilla.
OK, Kurt - you are on the screen We need to go get Doug too, since he has the good stuff! Sir James is bound to have some pretzels and stuff.
Dennis - bummer, glad that fire went out! Send those kids (?) to jail.
Well, had to run out for some more 2 x 4's to frame around doorways (gives prehung doors something to nail to), and that ate up some of my time. But, I did get the hallway done except for around the door at the end:
Still have a couple Sam Adams left in the fridge...
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Laz....Yes, our Pennsylvania import did real good. Usually we get good things from PA. Beer, pretzels, ketchup and Hershey kisses all are sent to Ohio from the good folks in PA. Yes, PA is good to Ohio.
Speaking of being good to Ohio, rumor has it that T-Shirts are being printed, sold and worn in Myrtle Beach, NC with the saying, "Ohio - Go Home!!!" I guess they don't want anymore of our money.

As CHUCK said "they are full of GRITs " and other things.
Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s. Watched the IRL race today. Interesting set of events cost Helio the race. Manning was 12th. The Princess was not a factor. Justin Wilson won. Having a nice visit with friends. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Don't know if anyone from the New Orleans area is member of the forum, but I whish them a lot of strength and hope the damage will stay within acceptable limits this time. It's a very hard thing to be hit by those giants twice in a row.. Hang on, we're with you in thought and prears.
Morning!
Friends over today for Fajita bbq.
I have the itch to set the fastrack up in the flowerbeds, and run 'em outdoors...Full smoke!
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a clear and sunny 60 degrees. Going up to 88 today, with sunshine.
Happy Labor Day weekend to everyone.
Today is an easy day. I finished all the mowing and trimming yesterday. So, today I can take it easy and enjoy the nice weather. I see signs of the autumn coming. Don't want to talk about winter.
Prayers out to all folks down in LA.
Dining car has rolled in and it's time for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday Holiday.
Chuck
Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Mornin' daanish (get it?). Beautiful & 64 (s'posed to get up to 88) here in the Mid-Atlantic region. We had a nice "retreat" yesterday at our best man's home, then spent the afternoon by the pyull. Gotta cut the grass (first time in 2-3 weeks), then head down to the shore for one more day in the sun, then back to the grind.
dwiemer - The local FBI is probably looking over your PD's shoulder on this deed. I'm sure they will wind up in a nice warm corner...
Chief - I'd lay off those COKE-ZEROs too. Some mornings it takes me just as long to "interprit" your threads...
dbaker - I want that 10 mins of my like back...
cnw1995 - We want the best for our kids, but sometimes we have to interceed ahead of time. My boy longs to play football, but I know his size, asthma, and lack of athletic ability will doom him to 3rd string water-boy. Hence, I do not sign him up. He is a penguin, swift in the water, yet pokey on land. Hellooooo water polo!
Blueberry - sleeper of a race last night.
kpolak - scratch that itch!
HAPPY LABOR DAY everybody!!!
55 here this morning, NICE! Going to patch back roof and put calking in a few cracks in openings of house, then run an easy 4 miler, then have a cookout with wife. No fire just grilling.
HAPPY LABOR DAY, enjoy it GIZ.

FIFIE - We are the Ebb Valley Eagles. Not my first choice, but one of the other choices was the Ponies, so I guess Eagles is better. I might have had to retire or resign if they had selected the Ponies.
Had a great reunion with HS friends on Saturday. Two of the girls lost their Dad with a week of each other. Both had been really sick for a long time, so it was a blessing that they are not suffering any longer. One of the girls who lost her Mom is also dealing with her Mom's Alzheimer's. Very tough.
Nice to have a day off. Concerned about wife's relatives in LA and East TX. Hope all is well for them.
Take care,
Mitch

Eagles is always BETTER.
Morning gang. Also those in Merryland. Off to mow the grass. Finally got a day of sunshine. Hope all you workers [who keep my SS coming in] have a great day off. Later.
Thoughts and prayers for those in the line of the storm.
Dennis, forgot to say that the premiere sounded really great, I'm glad you guys are getting some nice treatment for all your hard work. I hope that movie does really well - I'll pick it up at Walmart one day!
No basement work this morning - Char and kids return from Harrisonville on the Amtrak around 1, so I'm just lazing around right now. Watching the Tom Snyder Std Ga video right now. What a cool layout!
Happy Labor Day!
Good Morning from beautiful Southern Ohio
It is 68°F and sunny. I am off today and start night shift this evening, so hope to make it a low key day. I received the 793 Terminal I won on eBay. I want to clean it up and put it on the layout. Unfortunately the aristrocraft factory will need to be razed to make room.
Dennis - I can identify with your frustration with the HR folks. We have been trying to hire up for about six months. If the candidate's resumes did not have specific words in them the person never got an interview, even when we requested for the candidate to be interviewed. Crazy, HR works for us.
Also I feel for your congregation and pray for forgiveness and healing of whatever prompted the situation.
Buckeye - I heard the same thing. It seems a lot of folks around here do go to Myrtle Beach. I know of some who go every year at least twice. I've never been there. I prefer mountains to the beach.
Mitch - Ponies? Right. Eagles has a little more chutzpa to it
Have a safe Labor Day
May God bless
Jim
I plan on being at a car show on the 28th of September in Grovetucky. Have to clean and shine up the Trans Am. It is a small show at DrugMart in GroveCity.
Hope to get some wood and some other materials to finish benchwork this week.
Well lets see the grass was cut prior to moving in in late may ( the 30th if I remember corectly) and todat is going to be my first time to cut it as it just not growing here I thinking about selling mower and let a neighbor do it twice a year.
Wife says we need to plant more grass seed next spring and see if it grows any better and to give us a thicker lawn. I told her I like not having to have to cut it she wasn't impressed.
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne
http://rtssite.shutterfly.com/
Phish/mitchie - Yeah, but with "Ponies", Robert could've adopted a logo eerily similar to the NS thoroughbred scheme, thus the RR tie-in...
are there even any eagles in Merryland...?
