Mornin' Fellas.

Quite stop in before starting my day.

Fife - Don't know yet about York. I really need to sit down, go over finances, and get into the train room to see what - if anything - I need. If nothing else I may just do a half day like I did in April.

As for XM/Sirius my concern is that if you buy a receiver now that after the merger you'll have to buy another receiver to get all the channels. I had XM back when I drove Chevies and really liked it. Seems there are a few dead zones along the PA turnpike and I-70 south of Breezewood, PA before you enter MD... but in MD there was service everywhere... guess it's all that hi-tech gagetry in PA causing interferance? Whistling [:-^] Either that or the 'god father' isn't getting his cut of the revenue...

Best of Luck to Lucas! Glad to see the younger generation continuing the fight.

Colin - Denon = good stuff. I have a Pioneer 7.1 system and have all 8 speakers in my family room with the 'B' front channel amps running two outdoor speakers. Can't listen to two different sources at the same time, but it is nice when we have gatherings.

I have been thinking about looking into the whole second source thing as I have an old amp that I could use...

Just too much going on right now in my life. The job switch was good, but it really caused a huge shift in the work time/free time paradigm....

Wes,

I had scope to clean up torn miniscus 2 years ago (only 1 knee) & walked out after procedure with cane. Follow instructions about cold compress, etc & you will do fine. I had it done on a Thursday & was back at work on Monday & started physical therapy 1 week after surgery. Toughest thing was taking shower with plastic bag on my leg for the 1st 3 days while the bandage wrap was on. Good luck!

Hey y'all (hey, got to blend in with dem Rebs!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg])

XM/Sirius is going to be "backward compatable", so anything anybody has will work for both.  I'm just going to upgrade once the merger completes.

Wes - Happy "A" day.. I waited until I was 34 (maybe shoulda waited until I was 40 Whistling [:-^])

TMCC - good to see ya

Mike - When my son left for Rutgers, it was a big hole, expected him to be there, but was not.  The flip side was my daughter kept us "entertained".  Graduated in '01, and we have him back in the house.

Up to 91 & LOTS of humidity again, had a HUGE Thunderstorm for about 45 minutes, dumped and poured, like we need MORE rain.  A visit from Hannah is expected next week.  Just as long as it's nice THIS weekend.

Brent - see Brutus, I hear that TARDIS thing works really well on time/space issues.  If not, read HG WellsSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg] for more ideas!

See ya in the funny papers...!

Brent:  Forgot to add...Winton Marsalis has a great Histoy of Jazz show on XM Saturday mornings.

I need to hook up another speaker (2-channel stereo one-speaker) for the Bride in the Kitchen so she can hear her shows while cooking.  Our speakers are a bit directional, and only 5.1. Sigh [sigh]

Morning everyone,

I'm hoping for some rain here, as we need it. It hasn't rained here in a good 2 weeks.

This was really random. I was sitting in the basement playing Xbox live, and my dad came downstairs and stated that he wants to build the garden RR. I just looked at him. I asked him if he was sure about that because I'm going off to college next year, and my life this year won't exactly have time for a lot of hobbies. He told me yes he knows and he's still for it. So I don't know when this project will be undertaken.

Have a good day everyone.

PS Mike C., I jumped back into soccer. My doctor cleared me and I start practices Wednesday night. I'm a little worried about playing again but I'm sure that'll pass.

Morning all. Sunny and warm here this morning - I am working at home - but just walked over with my youngest to drop him off at kindergarten - a great way to start the day. Going to bring lunch to a friend whose bride has been very sick (for months) - it's his birthday tomorrow too and he doesn't get much of a break.

Brutus, that beer would be a Blue Moon.

Gary, welcome to the Pot. Glad your knee is fine a few years later.

Good morning,

Looks like we need to prepare for a couple more tropical storms again, one going up near Tallahassee FL and Texas/Mexico border and the other trying to come near Miami FL. HEY we need to dry out down here!!

Not much planned for the weekend or Labor Day(I have to work on Labor Day, get almost $150.00 for the day at work). Going to my parents on saturday in Stuart FL, just an hour away by car.

No grass to cut, didn't grow without rain. windows open only in the 70s. Train plans for the day are unknown at this time so have to report in tonite. Enjoy your friday....S.J.

Yep I remember when I had to do the plastic bag afer my ACL surgery. The hardest part was lifting myself in and out of the shower with the crutches, as I could only put pressure on one knee or I was gonna fall down. I did end up falling down on one occasion, and I used a counter top to get up. Not exactly one of my happiest moments.

Good Morning All

Hope the Chief is feeling better soon!  Its not unusual when someone has a significant change in environment, they can have a reaction to it.  (new office).

Some of you guys might want to head out this way, looks its going to be awhile before you may dry out back there.  SURE HOPE GUSTAV AND HANNA ARE LESS THAN EXPECTED.

Made a significant accomplishment last night, got ALL my Ross switches and indicators in sync and operating correctly.  Doesn't sound like much, but trust me it is.  (Having the correct LED light at the right time given ganged switch connection, left sometimes isn't, and right can be random, then having a X crossing and each leg is controlled by another switch, and of course the 3 way.  And then it all tied into the DCS AIU for remote capability.  But got it !!  And its all responding correctly.

Really disappointed reagarding the following:

Got word from a LHS that I new switcher that I ordered is in.  Maybe find time to pick it up next week.  They already checked it out on the test track.  Sorry Don!

With John getting a new generator, (propane powered?), my testing services will see a definite decrease in demand!  And what really hurts is I was just about to be ISO certified.  (Intense Scale Operators)

Off to work, hope everyone has a great day, and if your traveling be Careful !!!

Rich, all yuz giz from up Nawth have to do is open your mouth and we know. Laugh [(-D]

Am I glad that XM/Sirius is going to be that way.  We like Sirius better than XM.  XM comes on Toyota and you use to have to exchange your audio system to "private" one get Sirius on a Toyota.

Slow this AM.  Taking a break from Town and etc.  Cold is here so just ride it out.   Now can't wait until 9-18 for Lake House closing.  We have already started buying little things to go there [comes furnished] like water hoses, tools, "nick nacks" and etc.  Pull the Ranger up and keep it there.  Opens up a big bay in shelter.  Will pull out folding protable table saw and use that bay for that.  Just cover it with tarp and not fold it up like now.

Hi Guys,

I just got home from my deaconate formation retreat in the Abby of Gethsemani in Trappist Kentucky.  WOW, it was really something, more than I expected.  I'll be trying to catch up on the pot later.  I will check back later.

May God bless

Too the family to the depot in Kirkwood and sent them to KC at about 4:30, then hit the train store.  I picked up another of those 1:50 house kits, the second and last one they had in stock.  This one is some kind of rustic house.  Looks cool, can't wait to get my layout going and start doing the scenery and stuff.  Good project for a rainy day after the basement is done.

Just read on another forum that the Lionel Lionmaster Big Boy is delayed again until sometime next year.  Not sure if that is good or bad news.  Have had the money for it in bank for months.  If situation remains the same may have to use for other expenses.

Not much else to report, hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.

Good evening all

Lionel was doing business with the company tied up in the lawsuit. I would think as others, they have a parts shortage and will have to wait for things to get rolling again, before they can assemble and ship. Thats going to take some time.

I had a slow day today as meds still keeping me liteheaded. But almost gone, I'll see the results in a few days. I did some train stuff today but nothing worth noting here. Enjoy your weekend. Brutus we can leave now, have a wild three days, return and start over. Ready? S.J.

Brutus, those houses look great maybe based on English countryside homes.

Had a major fight with a cloged kitchen sink this afternoon lesson learned do not stand directly under a pipe opening while using the snake to clear a clog I had to take an extra bath todayLaugh [(-D]

Evening all!

Been a long time since my last post. Change in work responsibilities has really bogged me down - big project ongoing and will be several months before it levels out (and if I don't wear out first).

Kids are back in school. Having both in HS is making life in one area a bit easier. First football game was last night. Won big, but we changed to an easier division.

Son is on the HS drumline playing the Quads (4 drum set that he carries - ugh) - he looked and sounded really good last night.

Looking forward to York in about 7 weeks. I need the break and it will be good to see some old friends!

My aunt in Akron broke her hip and it had to be replaced. She is not doing great at the moment. Say a prayer for her.

Hope all are doing well!

Regards, Roy

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 70 degrees. Feels like it may rain, but they say No. Going up to 86 today with some sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have a few chores to do and then, I may start the mowing. Grass is growing slower, but it's time for a cut. Gas has dropped again, here. At $3.49 a gallon. I wonder if it will hit $2.99 this year. I don't think so. Big storm down south will bring it back up.

Dining car has arrived and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Morning all.  May everyone have a SAFE and HAPPY holiday.  Up at 4 AM as Burg and Lucy wanted breakfast and to "go out".   Cooked stuffed sausage and biscuits.  Drank some coffee and ate while Pam slept.  Wildone [Lucy] played with Burg [just lying on the floor] for a short while and then went to sleep.  Next thing I knew, it was 8:30 and Pam was up.  Reclinerized in the early morn.  Off to Miss Edna's in a few.  Nothing planned for this holiday.  Will probably mow [good for the cold] later this afternoon.  Later.

I have been wanting to get something of the nature...preferrably a little coffee house type building that you can assemble.. Want to build one and call it "The Coffee Pot" Est. 2004. Anyhow you said you had a bunch of dept 56 buildings? Do you have the Lionel Train building?

Cheif,

Still to wet to mow here..will mow on Monday...yeah I know its labor day but I still got to work...owell off to Starbucks...will try the Vanilla Bean this time...

--Black Diamond-- One thing about a train, it doesnt matter where it's going, You just have to decide to get on... Woo Wooo.....
