RAN TRAINS!!!!!  Was great night.  No accidents and Legacy did NOT loose communications with base [NO RED LIGHT].  Used switcher to move the grain train back into its siding at the grain elevator.  Then built the piggyback/maxi-stack train.  Pulled it out of the siding and on to the main line.  Stored switcher and backed 3 SD40 Highnoses back and away she went.  Other train then had right away and around it went.  Don Baker, used all Lionel smoke fluid in the Atlas SD40's and two Legacy SD40's.  Works a lot better.  Also loaded up the three SD80 and the Dash 9 which have not been smoking good with that other brand.  Fired them up on siding and they immediately started smoking good.  Other stuff goes on the shelf.

Good night.  Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

PS: we had a sprinkle with forecast of lots more to come.

BTW: Cool, my gear is a little more expensive. Shock [:O]

Dbaker,

Can you or someone else explain to me what the "Tardis" is? I keep reading about it...but still havent figured out what it is...  I even googled it...here is the current definition from Wikipedia...

"The TARDIS[1][2] (Time And Relative Dimension(s) In Space)[3] is a time machine and spacecraft in the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who"

Sounds like something they found in Roswell New Mexico...

The current series of Dr Who can be found on <bbc.co.uk/iplayer>, just log on and root around the site, it keeps up to a months programmes on stock for downloading. The download will self destruct after four weeks. Dr Who has been around for over thirty years, the early episodes were very crude but todays stories use modern high quality graphics with much improved scripts.

It started as a childrens hour programme and has now crossed into the main stream.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cool and sunny 54 degrees. Going up to 80 today with mostly sunshine.

Today is a busy day. We are going to shampoo the carpets. About a 2 hour job. Have one more wall to paint in the kitchen. But, not today, It is above the cabinets. Hard to get to. Maybe some train time later.

Dining car has arrived and is well stocked. Breakfast.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Morning All.  Up early for me.  Thought sure I would sleep late as cloudy [no more rain as of yet].  Had sinus headache.  Now after a tablet, better.  Now for coffee and breakfast.  Finish moving pictures and awards to new office.  Got some calls to make from home.  No hurry to do anything today.  May go to Miss Edna's and take her some cantaloupes and exchange that bad ETD.  Need to go to Lowes and pickup bird feed.  Have a good one.

Morning all. Sunny but cool today - more like Oct. than end-of-August. I notice it getting darker and darker when I get up. Had a guy come over to look at some spots on the roof last evening. Ran the Birney trolley for a while (ding, ding, exit at the front please!)

Good Mornin Peep's,

Cloudy dreary and light rain here alll last night. I am surprised the storm didnt work its way over to cheifs neck of the woods. But anyhow I took my CTT magazine to work last night and was thumbing through it and seen a add on page 4 (Sept Issue 2008). The great Train Expo is coming to Raleigh at the State Fair Grounds!! Sept.. 13th and 14th. Thats a Saturday and a Sunday. Im going to go check this out..never been to one. Cheif are you going? I called Customer service and I didnt know you could take the rest of your remaning credit and put it on a differnt subscription, so now its changed to CTT instead of MRR. Plus in that add if u suscribe to MRR or CT or CTT you get a free pass to the show..That also includes changing your existing subscription to I guess cause I'm getting a free pass into the show....

Kurt,

Len Carparelli wrote an excellent article for CTT in 2000, and he explained the striping process.  The stripes were applied by an inked metal block that had the stripes raised above the surface.  Reproduction stripe and lettering decals are available in adhesive or water slide varieties.  While your working on cosmetics, replace the headlight lenses and buff the paint.  The original lenses in mine were yellowed badly, and the new lenses make the GG1 look much better.  I used a soft, clean rag to buff the paint, and it really brought the gloss back.  You won't regret your purchase.  I bought my 2332 for $268 plus $31 for parts.  It was worth every penny.  If you have any questions, I am more than happy to help any way I can.

Another beautiful day here, but what we need is rain.  Probably show up for Friday nights HS football opener. Wink [;)]

Spent most of the day on my doll house project.  Experimenting with printing out some stone paper to wrap the chimneys, using Model Builder Software.

Tomorrow is TCA Museum day.

Got MR and Trains today, checked them both out, but did not read in detail.

Talking about fancy trains, I read somewhere that they are going to put Saddam Hussein personal train back in service as a passenger train.

Here is the short article:

BAGHDAD - Iraqi Railway officials are preparing to return to service the luxury train that deposed dictator Saddam Hussein called his own, the Associated Press has reported. The train should be back in service next month.

Hussein rode the French-built train only once, in the late 1970s, and it's been kept in a secret Baghdad location to protect it from looting following the 2003 U.S.-led invasion.

The 23-car train will be used to move passengers between Baghdad and Basra.

I was just upstairs running my Lionel Dockside locomotive in convential mode before I rip out its guts and put in TAS TMCC and Whistle Controler.  So just to see what it could do, I hooked it up to a mix of boxcars and tank cars, twelve(12) cars in all.  It moved the consist very easily so then I started it up my 2 percent grade.  Cranked up the power and it pulled it easily up the grade!!  I was astonished!!! Lionel Dockside for a engine less than $100 seems to be a great buy.  Maybe I'll change my mind after I run it two or three years.

IT RAINED!!!!!  Big time here.  Most did not get what we got.  Red on the radar right over Rosyville.   Just finished watching a great movie and funny too.  Dan In Real Life on Starz.  Had several replies but slipped the old mind.  Buckeye, had planned to install and Electric RR TMCC unit in a Plymouth switcher.  Hope that works too.  Had a busy day.  Phone calls all morning and then getting office in new building arranged and pictures on the wall.  Last minute errand to Lowes to get bird feed and etc.  Now to bed.

Good night.  Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.
