Morning all; raining lightly today -first time in weeks and weeks.  Stressful eve last night walking through life with our middle boy who walked off the football practice field in a snit. Basically, through hours of talking, I told him we finish what we start and to apologize and get back out there today.

Mike C, same day Lucas is going to IU, Ben is going to kindergarten. Yellow rain slicker, 'Thomas' backpack taller than he is, big grin. You probably remember...

For the first time ever, the bride and I had a few hours together with all kids in school.  So what do we do... go to Wal-Mart. LOL.

Brutus, happy 14 to you and your bride! Sir J can pick me up on the way to your house and we'll get that drywall up in a jiffy.  That airship model sounds cool - and expensive. I have the Revell model I've customized hovering over Baker Field.  Great  news about your uncle.

Fife, our local PD loves their Crown Vics, though the neighboring departments are all getting Chargers. I am fortunate, during my adventures involving wayward teens of last year, to have ridden in the in the front seat... Black Diamond, we have a sort of Citizen's Police Academy where you can ride along... Last month's advisory was to turn off the engine when idling to save fuel...

Ran trolleys and Thomas last night. Have to clean track...

Another hobby shop bit the dust, Athens Hobby, here in Athens, Ga.  Though for the past few years they weren't much more than a toy store, at one time they were heavy into HO, some O and G, but were a good source for paints and scratch building materials.

Evenin' boys.  Rain & mild here in the Mid-Atlantic region.

CSXect - Rich was correct about the rotors.  The Chargers are fabulous for dem hiway patrols, but the constant stopping and going in urban/suburban areas apparently wreaks havoc on the brakes.  Dodge is going after the law enforcement market full-tilt boogie, and judging from all the Chargers, and now Challengers just sitting on new car lots, I understand why.  And,YES, I do get jealous!

Black Diamond - Yep, we've got ride-along programs.

cnw1995 - There's nothing wrong with the Crown Vic, other than it can be a boat at times.  Ford now makes it exclusively for PD's, and we'll probably keep buying them to help them out of their hole, much like we did with the Diplomats and Iacocca back in the 80's.

Chief - thank you for the kind thought.  Oh, about the driver training, we tend to save that for those that wrinkle fenders.  Our fleet is mainly rear-wheel drive.  I think for its size, the IMPALA is the ideal car for today's force.

On the meds.  Can hardly stay awake.  Think I will down a bowl of soup [you thought I was going to say GRITS].  Waiting to see if we get the rain.  Turned real warm and HUMID.

Evenin' Fellas.

Not much going on... except work...work...work. Got the front brakes replaced - thanks Rich - the rear calipers gave me some problems so going to have my mechanic do them tomorrow.

Fife - Other than thinning out the fleet, nope. Have to remove the Legacy Base, package it up, and ship it off to Lionel. On the other subject... nope... last month was a no-go... no word yet this month.

As for Chargers and Magnums... seems they have a parking problem too. Have two co-workers that own them and neither can seem to get them inside the parking space lines...

Took SusieQ to see Mindi Abair last night at Ram's Head Live in Annapolis. Good show... really miss the local jazz channels... liked having jazz to listen to in the car on the way to and from work... kept me 'relaxed' now all I have is Country and Rock... country gets old and rock tends to result in lots of frustration... or is that the fact that now that school is back in session that all the poor drivers are back on the roads? Last three days have been terrible... accident here, traffic jam there, bridge construction over there... Banged Head [banghead]

GOOD EVENING,

Finished CTT today, two real good issues in a row with classic trains again at last. Old memories with Frank Ellison,I remember when he wrote magazine articles. It was good to see some of his buildings again. Me I worked a while on the last item of my buy, old 027 switches, rewired and ready to go. Oh and I still have a track section to  rewire. forgot about  that. we had gloomy all day but no rain, we may get some  overnite but who knows. That covers my day so Brutus fire up the thingy and lets go....S.J.

Brent,

Do what Fife says and get Sirius.  I just installed it in the Sunfire tonight, and I couldn't be happier.  I got a great deal on a Streamer receiver and docking kit on ebay.  I am never going back to regular radio!

Warm and humid in St. Louis.  Mike C - forgot to comment about your son, glad he's in school and hope he does well!  Got home and mowed the yard - did the whole thing and knee didn't pop or grind, so it's a lot better, thank God.  Need to get more exercise, I can tell I've been taking it easy for a while now Sad [:(]

Sir James, I have some leftover cake from a party at work to bring, you've got banilla, all we need is rootbeer!  I'll be over in a few minutes, okay?  Laugh [(-D]

Buckeye and I are still going to York...I think...we need to finalize.

So I am getting both knees scoped to clean up some torn miniscus, and some other stuff while he is in there.  Nothing reconstructive.  Does anyone know how long before I will be able to stand and walk on them after the scope?  I'm sure it's different for everyone.

Tomorrow is my 10 year anniversary.  Not bad for a 31 year old...

Have a good one,
Wes

Cloudy and light rain off and on all day long, but not enough to measure.

It's been a busy one, and another one tomorrow.  My new emergency generator is to be delivered tomorrow, next will have to get my Propane supplier to do his thing.

Got word from a LHS that I new switcher that I ordered is in.  Maybe find time to pick it up next week.  They already checked it out on the test track.  Sorry Don!

Haven't found any time to work on the dollhouse last two days, maybe Saturday.

Yeah, I have XM, but with the merger, all XM & Sirius channels will be available.  I'm just waiting to see what happens before I upgrade....

Brent - Glad I could help!!!

Ran the 1055, and it ran better.  Now runs over switches without stalling.

Had Tacos for dinner and then went to Sonic for an Orange Cream Slush YUM!!

Chief - get better

Brutus - Angel [angel] for your uncle

Doug - Walmart  -- That's where we went after our wedding reception...don't ask...

See ya tomorrow.

On my way, Sir J...

Rich, at least ours was a Super-Wal-Mart....

Forgot to mention I had a nice visit with a UPY switcher crossing in front of me at a remote crossing today... It didn't have a gate on this road but an overhead flashing light.

Do they let wheelchairs into York?  Wes, we need to find out what we need to do from someone so they let us in the door.  Congrats on the anniversary.   Tell the Mrs. the same.

On the way Doug and Jim!  Buckeye, if they say they don't allow wheelchairs, just invoke the Americans with Disabilities act of 1994.  That should scare them straight on that issue!  Get well soon, Chief and keep those bedbugs at bay!

Honey-do list is growing for the weekend Laugh [(-D]  Will make time for a steak and some Sam Adams, that's for sure.  What was that beer you recommended once, Doug?  Something with "moon" in it?  At least I learned my lesson from Laz, no fruit in da beer!  Laz, come on over and we'll have a couple cold ones!

Kurt, if you want to call some morning this weekend (not too early!) that would be great - same to any of yuz giz!  Got drywall plans with Sir James too, though!

Good evening everyone,

Got back home from the shore Wednesday morning. We had a 7.1 surround system installed Saturday before we left. The system consists of a Denon 7.1 reciever, 5 Definitive Technology Speaker, 1 Definitive Technologies Sub woofer, and 2 Bose outdoor speakers. The setup has the 5 speakers and the sub inside and the 2 Bose speakers outside. The reciever is dual zone capable, which means I can watch T.V. inside and my parents can play music outside. As of now, only one Bose speaker is operating. The Geek Squad guys were at my house from 10 AM until 11 PM. They're coming back Saturday morning to finish the installation. But the system sounds amazing. I watched Shooter and you hear everything, and I mean the shards of glass that fly out from windows after a sniper shot hits a propane tank which cause the house to blow up.

Speaking of large cars, I couldn't turn down the opportunity to drive a Mercedes S430 4Matic for the whole month of September. I was suprised how easy to drive it is, and the parking is really easy too. However, there are some spots where it is very troubling to park. but other than that the car is awesome! It accelerates like no other (probably because it has a 4.3L V8) for a vehicle of its weight and size, (only tried the acceleration on the highway, not illegally either), the ride is smooth and is very user friendly. I actually find my dad's Chrysler 300 to be more challenging to drive.

Have a good night everyone!

Just a quick check in to let folks now I have not fallen off of the face of the earth.  Opening has been great at the new school.  Still developing new routines for dismissal and traffic patterns, etc. Having some technical issues with some Dell 2400MP projectors.  Have a tech services rep coming today. Biggest problem so far is the noise from the students chairs on tile floor above us.  The second floor is a concrete deck poured in a metal pan with steel girders supporting the metal pand and the deck.  No insulation to speak of between the drop ceiling on the first floor and the floor of the second level.  Kids stand up and move their chairs and it sounds like a heard of elephants is thundering above us.  Need to work out a solution.  We may have to ask each child to bring in a can of tennis balls and we will slice them and put them on the chair legs.  I have got the sales rep for the chairs running in circles trying to find a solution too.

Take care,

Mitch

Morning!

Brutus:  I'm up at 5:00am...too early?

Brent:  We have XM, and it's great, especially when travelling.  Or just buy CD's.  5-jazz channels.  I listen to the traditional, contemporary, and standards.

Wes:  Happy Anniversary!

mitchelr:  Try laying acoustical batt insulation on the ceiling tiles.  Careful about running the isulation over the lights.  They need to be rated to do so.  Ask your architect.  Second floor carpet or carpet squares?

Good morning all,

Sunny with chance of rain in SE Indiana (typical Hoosier weather).  Lucas survived first day at IU with help from his sister and mom (long story).  Can't say the same for the soccer kids.  "My" soccer girls got pounded by arch-rival 7-0.  It was a road game (maybe glad I did not see that one).  Watched the boys lose 5-3 in a game that featured 4 (count 'em, 4) penalty kicks.  Normally one is the most you see, two is rare and four does not occur unless there is a shoot-out.  Each team had two and all four were made.  Friends from Chicago coming down this weekend.  IRL is at Detroit this Sunday.  Hope AJ's team can make up for the disaster at Sonoma.  I had the usual fare on the dining car.  I hope everyone has a good day.  Congrats to all those with anniversaries, and hope all who are ailing get better.  Good to hear from you, TMCC man.  CNW1995, I remember the kindergarten days.  Enjoy them now as they slip away from you.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
