Good evening all,

Another hot one in SE Indiana.  Spent most of the day nursing an intestinal disorder.  Bit both wife and me.  Did get some "work" work done.  Watched some of the IRL race on line.  Manning was out to lunch.  Princess was fifth.  Helio won.  I sausage and pancakes on the dining car this despite Buckeye's best efforts.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

GOOD EVENING

I do not have to winterize my boat this year, did not use it. So I'll take out the plugs, spray some defogger, give it a couple rotations and back together.done.

My wife and I spent a quiet day at home which is one of a very few weekends like that. # 2 son and family were here yesterday for burnt offerings , but today we reclinered. I did some train fussing but nothing noteworthy. Brutus I am ready, fire up the thing...S.J.

Beacon is on! Prepped for the first day of high school - everyone seems set. Beautiful end-of-summer kind of day today. Off to run trains.

Evening all.  Hope all are doing well.  BTW: look at the stars voting.  One has no stars.  Seems the Sorry Old Boy drops in and votes on threads now.  Chuck saw that the other day.

Great meal at FIL's.  Also found my missing Band of Brothers set.  FIL had the DVD set and forgot he had it.  Been missing for months.  Later

Evening All !  Sounds like most had a traditional Sunday, Church, relaxation and family.

This afternoon, I installed a pair of Ross switches.  Had a long 8' siding that was primarily used as a parking spot for Chris' Norfork Western J series.  Put the switches in (a pair of 11 degree) and connected to the main line for a bypass.  Had to adjust the track just a touch to acommodate the BB, but it all fits.  BARELY!

Going to update my RR track plan to reflect the changes.  Need to go and check out the other threads and stuff.  What happened to the Tardis????  Still waiting, and becon light is on!  Save me some fudge!!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 60 degrees. Going up to 78 today. Maybe some sunshine.. We got a little rain last night. Nothing much.

Today is a busy day. I have a lot of errands to run and chores around the house. Typical Monday. No train time. Grass is growing slower. I will probably need to mow, later in the week.

Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Hello from Soggy NorthEast Florida.....

For 2 days now, I have seen this strange thing in the sky...it's very bright, just can't figure it out.Bow [bow]

Up to 89 today and high Humidity (go figure...) and Thunderstorms later in the day (ya think?)Banged Head [banghead]Well, Friday I got to work and it was pouring!!! I got some things done and left at 1 pm.  Found about 1 foot of water in front of the house, got the van up the driveway to safe ground.  Cleared up a little later in the day, still was windy and rainy.  Saturday was less so.  The Princesses boyfriend finally made it back to New Jersey.  He called Friday and they rescheduled him for yesterday.  Now he's back home in the "real world".

Saturday cleaned and lubricated a Lionel track cleaner (3717?).  After dusting it off and reseting the brushes in the motor, that thing worked great!  We have some cleaning pads ordered for it, so next week we'll see what magic we can do for the tracks!!

Worked a little on the tracks at home yesterday, ran the 2026 for a while.

Princess back to school today, having gone 2 days then home 3 for the storm.  So much for the 3 weeks off for Winter Break (AKA Christmas Vacation)

Now to dry off and see what work has been left from the storm.  And COFFEE!! See ya later!

Morning all. Everyone off to school this morn. First day jitters for the high schoolers - will I remember my locker combination? Where was my locker again? Why does my schedule have nothing on it for fifth hour? Can I get back in the school after football is over or do I have to carry over all my books? Who's going to pick me up after football? Can I drive over to so-and-sos house after school? Can I have some money in case we stop somewhere on the way home from school? Didn't I tell you we have to pick up friend A, B, C and D this morning?  LOL - the kindergartner is far easier...

Inquiring minds want to know what Buckeye chose to work on over the weekend.

 Good Morning Peeps',

Life is good these days in Burlington, Nc! Kinda cloudy today..Temp is 78 Degrees with a high of 87. They are talking about pm thunderstorms though..(I hope Cheif gets some of this..). I did a quick cut of the grass again. I dont know why but it grows faster in certain spots then others.. Go figure. Wife and I did our regular Sunday routine. Go to Church, then Food Lion (grocery store) then we came home and grilled out T-Bone steaks with baked potatos.. and sweet peas. Oh, we also went to Barnes and Noble and picked her up the next book in a series she is reading, (chrisitan fiction). While she was doing that I managed to sneak over to the magazine rack and picked up the current issue of CTT, since I subscribe to MRR I wasn't going to buy that. And just by chance, they also have a Starbucks in there... Yall know what that means..Venti Mocha Frappucinno!! I was at the register and orderd it then I changed it to a (Vanilla Bean, remembering Cheifs advice). But right before he poured in the vanilla bean flavor I chickend out and went with a Mocha...but the moral of the story is... Barnes and Noble = CTT magazine and Starbucks... Yes, Life is good.... in Burlington, Nc.

     Brutus,

You still have your trains in there, while you are sanding? I know its alot of work to take em down and stuff..and you did the next best thing covering them with plastic. But that dust from sanding gets all over everything, I hope you arent going to be finding sanding dust over everything for the next two years! I dont know how but that dust gets in places that you would think impossible!! Good Luck! Oh.. by the way if you like to drywall, my building needs some! I will buy your plane ticket, here...then we can go raid the dining car at Cheifs house while he is loading it with grits and sweet tea! He is only 70 miles away. Back on the construction front... I was thinking instead of using drywall, some sort of paneling from Lowes. Not the traditional looking stuff but something more railroadish.. that you would see on the inside of a depot...like a brick patten or something. The reason behind it is obvious... no sanding.

Sir James I,

Maybe you can tell me since you are a caboose man. Is there a differnce in names for a caboose on a freight train, as opposed to a passenger train? Like in the movie The polar Express they call the (last car connected to the train) the observation car. Also, while I am on the subject have you seen the caboose in the Lionel Nascar Set? The paint job on the caboose is one unlike any other before, according to Lionel. If so is it in your collection? Also, I know of a way you would never have to winterize your boat again! Ship it down here...Cheif and I will take good care of it...Whistling [:-^]

Dbaker,

Can you or someone else explain to me what the "Tardis" is? I keep reading about it...but still havent figured out what it is...  I even googled it...here is the current definition from Wikipedia...

"The TARDIS[1][2] (Time And Relative Dimension(s) In Space)[3] is a time machine and spacecraft in the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who"

Sounds like something they found in Roswell New Mexico...

Have you heard anything new about Chris from the doctors? Hopefully everything is still ok.

Well gotta run for now... got this months issue of CTT to read up on... sorry the msgs are so long, but I have to read 2 or 3 pages a day just to keep caught up on things. Seems to me that the coffee pot is getting bigger. I just had a interesting thought, how cool would it be to make a building that we could put in our layouts and call it "The Coffee Pot", Established in Savannah GA on April 1 2004.

BD, good idea on the building.  Hey, the vanilla bean tastes like a vanilla milkshake.  I love those so I get VB at Starbucks.

Mornin' All !

Black Diamond_ If you want the interior look of a depot, how about "bead board". Approve [^]

Fife_ Want to bet she won't be dressed and ready to go early this time next week. Big Smile [:D]

Now all this talk about a "new town hall", am I being a little overly curious but I don't remember hearing about this til after "the lake house". Per chance is the new town hall going to be sitting lakeside? Can we all spell "annexation" ? Whistling [:-^]

What a surprise , not to mention unusual, we have some thunder bumpers rolling around. As long as there is some rain with the sky fireworks, don't need or want anymore fires. Grumpy [|(]

Cheif,

I have been trying to get the wife a drink at Starbucks she likes, (She is not a coffee drinker). The reason I changed it back to a Mocha is because I saw the Vanilla Bean does not have no coffee in it. I will have to get her to try it the next time we are there... I will order two of them. I asked them if it was a Frappucinno and they said it was... the Vanilla Bean, so we will see...you may have just helped me find the drink she was looking for....I will be sure to let you know what becomes of it... Cheers!

DougDaGrump...I googled that Beadboard... looks cool...do you think it would look good all the way up to the ceiling from the floor, They are 8' walls...the picture I see it went halfway up the wall....topped off with a chairrail or something...well I am forgetting you are only going to see form about 3ft up from the floor to the ceiling (due to the train tables), so that would probaly look good...what do you think?

That is it in a nut shell. Here is a little more detail but not all of it The TARDIS is the space/time travel machine of the Doctor(no other name, there fore the series is called Dr. WHO) The tardis is much larger inside than outside. It has the ability to blens in its surroundings by a cahmelion ciruit which has malfunctioned and is stuck on the image of an old English Police Call box(basicly a blue phone booth with a light on top) Sounds kinda corny but is a classic sci-fi series .Used to be on PBS station for many years also on DVD but may have to search for them.

Good Evening

Black Diamond-The Tardis answer you found is correct, we word play with it, lots of fun. The observation car is the last car on a passenger train, either has a platform with railing or large rear windows so passengers can look out the rear of the train. A regular coach at the end of a train would not be an observation car. As for freight caboose there are different names used by railroads for their caboose's but its still a caboose. they carried the train crew. todays trains rarely use one as everything is electronic controled now. All Y'all who are attending Chief's new Town Hall dedication in Roseyville will be dining on grits 'n gravy, tater salad, fried chicken, nanner puddin and sweet tea. When the Preacher says grace before the meal please be aware that only 3 religions are important in the South-----Baptist, Methodist and Football!

Mention that Eastern Ohizio SOB General Tecumesh Sherman and you will likely hear a sweet Southern Belle threaten to kick your *** which is not that bad. But having grits 'n gravy removed from your plate is stantard and severe punishment.

Tardis - yep!  We like to get together later in the day/evening and have a few rootbeers (or regular - choose your poison) and some banilla icecream or popcorn.

Got a Troublesome Truck and a video from Charlie RO today.

Thanks for the advice DB and Kurt - I guess I will put my stuff up for the duration.  I hate to do it, though...
