Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 58 degrees. Going up to 91 today with mostly sunshine.

Today is a less busy day. I have to finish a project and do a few chores and then, I can relax. Yesterday was really busy. I was tired last night and slept very well. Glad it's over with.

May get some train time in, today. Time to dust the layout.

Dining car is here and it's breakfast time. Later.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Chuck

Good Morning from Southern Ohio

Prayers for those in Fay's path.

Bedroom painting done.  Note to self, never OK wallpaper again!!!!  I start night shift tonight so slept in some.  Deaconate classes start this Saturday.  This is the last quarter.  As a matter of fact, 100 days from today is ordination!  It has been four years since the begining of classes.

Going to cut grass and clean out the train room today.  The train room received everything from our bedroom during painting.

God bless

Morning all.  Hope Fay moves on and leaves my FL buddies alone.  Had coffee and breakfast [sausage patties and waffles].  Now to get moving.  Carson City on Westerns Channel.  Cowboys and trains in this one.  Trying to dodge Town things today.  Need rain again.  Later

Good Morning,

Another great morning, cool start but middle 80s for this afternoon. Still no rain so the grass looks like straw, but it did stay green longer than usual this year. A quick trip to Kroger this AM and reg. gas was $3.63. That was at Speedway, their price goes up and down like a yo-yo. If the others do not follow then they reprice to match. No train talk yet today so I guess To play will be the way it goes. Have a good one all....S.J.

Politics...

Good afternoon all,

We interrupt the normal 'train' of thought.  USA! USA! USA!  Women beat Brazil 1-0 to win Olympic gold in soccer!!!  We now return you to normal programming.  And yes, Black Diamond, there is a lot of good food on the dining car for breakfast.

Keep on training,

Morning all, It has been a few days since I checked in on the pot.  Last week was busy with doctor and dentist  appointments.  Had one almost every day.  Had colonoscopy on Wednesday.  Nothing life threatening, thank God, but they discovered a little errosion in one place.  Have to take some kind of medicine that cost $15 per day. Ouch!  Insurance will cover to a point but I have to pay out of pocket after the donut hole kicks in if I have to take it that long.  I'd rather be spending it on trains.

Chief, I'm amazed at how much rain you folks seem to get in your area.  It seems like if you don't get any for two or three days you are worried about drought and haul out the soaker hoses.  I guess it takes a lot of water to grow a garden.  We always had a garden in Virginia when I was a kid but I don't remember having to hand water too much.  Then again, it seems like we had thurdershowers almost every other day with all the humidity.  Out here in Californy I can barely keep my grass alive.  Soil is hard adobe and needs lots of sand to grow anything.  Yet the Imperial Valley which is only a 100 miles or so from here provides at least a third of the produce for the country on irrigated land.  Water comes from the Colorado River.

Might try to have a get together at my garage layout tonight if I can cool off the place after the sun goes down with a window fan.  High today is predicted to be 88 but I will believe it when I see it.  It's always over 90 in the garage in the afternoon.  Sometimes over 100. Have a good day all, Ray

Chief - If you need it, I can see if I can find some more vanilla beans out here so you don't have to reblend the same one so much, I'm not sure about that vinte part, is that where the cut vent holes in the bean, or is that some kinda vine?

Oh, don't worry about the coffee, I will take care of it.  (Like it fresh with new grounds).  Also if you need some new tea, I could do that too, so you don't have to put so much sweetner in the water.

Wiring blocks isn't that difficult.  Isolate the center rail of your blocks with a plastic pin, one at each end of the block.  Run power to each block from the center rail of that block to a switch and back to the transformer.  I ran my power from the transformer to a terminal block and then to the other block switches.  Track power is connected by the white wires.  Don't forget a circuit breaker or fuse.  I use 5 amp fast blow fuses, and am having good luck.

Surfin' thru the Garden side of the forums, note the green Clown [:o)], and came across an interesting link. It will probably be of real interest to Doug M. but the buildings could really be used for any Main Street, USA. The plans are in HO but could easily be resized to "O". Take a peek and see what you think.

Hope Roy is doing OK, seems like Texas and a lot of the midwest is really getting hammered as bad as Fl.

I like those paper buildings. Ah, my tax dollars at work. Do you see 78 E Williams St in beautiful downtown Crystal Lake? I'm with Buckeye: at least the snow can't eat you like a gator. No rain here. Everyone watching TV in a different room tonight. LOL. At least I figured out how to get the TV in the basement to work so I can listen to the DIY whilst running trains. Have to find the 24 hr All-Trains channel. There's bound to be one...

GOOD EVENING

Just talked to Brutus by e-mail and he is sitting out some bad weather. Now I have the keys for the Tardis, oh boy loop-d-loops tonite. He'll never know. I have the banilla and root beer so turn on your beacons its going to be a long nite. For those of you working tomorrow we will just return to nine PM. Ran a few loops of trains today while doing other things, kind of like a RR crossing, I would stop and watch as the train went by. Wild Bill's on my schedule for tomorrow but don't expect to find anything new.  S.J.

Good night.  Not feeling well.  Pam came home and said I looked pail.  Had been sweating bad [inside on A/C].  Think I have a bug.  Slept for a while and now feel better.  No dinner as not humgry [yes, I'm sick].  Probably burning candle at both ends this week.  Off to bed.  Got 9 AM meeting, lunch with oldest [her birthday] and Dr's apt at 2 PM.

Hey everyone,

Just checking in. Getting ready to head to the shore before school starts to enjoy a few days away from the regular life here.

I just started this new site where I post all of my photos. No trains pictures, all cars, but the site will be updated to include other things such as scenery and candids. Some of the pictures aren't great, (I was a bit lazy in some, specifically when and how I took them) but the rest I think are pretty good.

That's a vapour trail caused by travelling through time at hyper speed and quickly condenses into damp patches.

I'll let you inon a secret, Brutus's Tardis was originally outside the Red Lion in Heckmondwike market place.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 62 degrees. Going up to 89 today, with sunshine.

Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and an errand to run. Then, I will take it easy. I need to do some cleaning up in my workshop. I have a bunch of tools to organize. I can run trains, as I do that. They come thru the wall into the workshop. Upper level.

Dining car is here and it's Cheerios for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Friday. Buckeye...TGIF

Up and at 'em early today, couldn't sleep, too much sitting around yesterday. It's already very warm with high humidity but this may be one of the final warm days of summer, bigger cold front coming through tonight.

Off to another Patriot Guard Ride this morning, my third one this week. We will escort the cremains of a WW2 vet with no family or next of kin to the new Iowa Veterans Cemetery, it's the right thing to do. This cemetery was a $7.5 million project that was built over the last year, Congress can do something right. The land was donated by a farmer and it's just beautiful--over looks a valley and you can see for miles. We are really losing the Greatest Generation at a rapid rate now.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend, slow down and smell the flowers.
