Back from the "bazeball" game.  Fun.  Pleanty to eat and it was FREE.  Wife being chewed by Lucy [who is 50 times smaller than wife].  Funny as Lucy does NOT chew on me.  Cured that one right off the bat.

Black Diamond, vanilla bean double blended is a lot better.

Time to rest.  Got to check computer to see if I have a meeting tomorrow.

Later

GOOD EVENING ALL

Kurt, about the grass thing, well it rained here last saturday and sunday so the grass kinda grew higher in some places and not others. I have been cutting at three inch height so a little growing shows. three weeks and it needs a cut.

I got a suprise today. A Lionel tank car with the Lifesaver wrapper. from TTOS 2007. just recently released. I knew it had arrived but had not seen the guy who had them until today. Cable guy showed to check my phone and web disconnecting, punched in the numbers on my laptop a said nothings wrong. I said yes there is it disconnects, nothings wrong, ok I guess I will just keep calling every time it does it till they send someone who can fix it. He changed the motem and left. Brutus fire up the thing and lets go,,,,Banilla all around..S.J.

dougnotta - I dig them out first, then do the walk.  YOu'll note that they are the rare salmon variation flamingos...highly sought after by most collectors.  I originally wasn't going to remove them from the box.

Fifey, my wife loves those flamingos.  They are scattered throughout the back garden in various "shapes" [plain ones, windchime ones and so on]. Shock [:O]

Good night.  Sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a partly cloudy 61 degrees. Going up to 84 today, with sunshine this morning and a chance of rain later.

Today is a busy day. I have a few errands to run and some projects to finish up in the house. I may get a break later.

Looks like our friends in Florida are getting hit with the storm. I wonder how they are doing?

Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Cheerios.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Good morning.  I have a meeting at 8:30 really close, so I have some time at the keyboard.

My replacement switch is on its way from TK.  TK seems to have everything when I need something at reasonable prices.   They have one of the best in-store layouts that I have seen.  Not just some little loop of track.

Speaking of track, Big Walnut mentioned that the Ohio Central was sold.  That is true. It was sold to the GW.  However the owner of the OC has some type of agreement for storing his collection of steam.  We might see more steam excursions in the Amish Country of Ohio in the near future.

The Duesenberg has not been happy as of late.  I don't know what is wrong.  It is making funny noises.

Have a good day.

Good morning all,

Nice weather in SE Indiana.  Soccer season starts for high school boys team tonight.  Went for walk with wife last night.  Gave her foot rub as it was first day to sub at school.  Did some Second Life, first time in quite a while.  Had the usual fare on the dining car.  Welcome, Black Diamond and welcome back, Ed.  Met an old acquaintance who might be interested in getting started in trains.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all. Sunny and warmish for my long day - last class of the summer though. I start up again in a few weeks which is good - means enough students are still interested in my class so I get paid a little extra.

Happy Anniversary, Rich! Hope you recover soon from the card from Citgo - I'm a BP man myself.

Buckeye, those Dusenbergs are not what they used to be - Didn't I tell you to get a DeSoto instead?  I have my eye on a nice Studebaker for '09. I hear their South Bend plant is very busy these days.

Hey guys!

Sam Walton saved me yesterday and a quick trip to Starbucks for a gift card.  Wife should be happy, especially since I'm pseudo-supporting the family on my pitance my boss calls a salary!  Dinner at the Japanese steak house and all should be well!!  Thank for the well wishes and support, my friends!

Apparently ol' Fay is burning out, just wind and rain (gee...isn't that what I said?), bought 3 cases of water just in case.  So Wednesday & Thursday rain & Wind.  Wonder how Phillyreading (Lee) & Asch (Palm Bay)are holding out?  You guys ok down there?  Made a quick call to my Aunt in Vero Beach (near Fort Pierce), everything was ok there last night...Unk is 50/50 or status quo...we'll see how it goes for now...

Making progress on the car, cleaned and painted the transmission support yesterday, need to remove the firewall components then paint the frame.  The engine compartment looks like next week, then on to the engine/trans stuff.

That's all for now, see ya inna while!

           Hey All...

Just chiming in for today, it's another beautiful sunny day out current temp is...73 degrees. Just got in from work....gave the grass a trim...wasnt bad wanted to get it b4 it got to tall. I was listening to the radio all night... they kept talking about Fay hitting Florida sometime round day break. I understand its not a full hurricane but I still wouldnt want to be there...

Laz 57...

I dont quite know what  NARTHERNERS are Confused [%-)], ummm if you are referring to Northerners, I am originally from Elkhart, In which is about 2 miles from the Michigan state line. I moved to North Carolina back in 1999. But this I do know... when its 10 and 20 degrees there where u are at, its about 60 here... Whistling [:-^] anyhow thanks for the welcome...

Dbaker48...

I'm quoteing you... "Now that is a whoody who and what????  And Your from the South ????" I live in Nc as I informed Laz... but you are right, I am not from the south... I originally grew up in Elkhart, In. I went to your club website, that corner tressell is a real piece of work. How long did it take to build that thing? It looks really good. Thanks for the advice on the software, I will admit I was kind of skittish about it, but if you recommend it...I will take your word...

I think you are on to something sending Cheif some...."Buttered Tofu and Red Gravy, BBQ Tofu and crackers and might even be some Spicy Varmit flavors". Maybe along with that we could send him some as you would call it...a whoody who and what???? Venti Mocha Frappuccino....

Fifedog...

Black Diamond - First off ---->Sign - Welcome <img src=" border="0" width="55" height="36" />.

Secondly - Venti Mocha Frapwhatever = Fruit in Beer.

Thirdly - I fit right in, there is one person that likes fruit in their beer here..

"Hey Brutus... pass the fruit to this fine Gent!"

                                       Kurt           Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Thanks for the welcome though... glad to be here...Like the pink flamingos...What did you get framed I see its a issue of CTT but is it like a spefic layout is it your layout? How cool would that be...to have your layout in CTT or MRR?

CSXect...

Yup love old steam engines, in fact the next engine I am going to buy is in the 2008 volume 1 K-LINE catalouge. On page 10 Its the New york Central Empire State Express (6-22105). I think that will be the last engine I will buy. What is a loosley based Lionel layout? I like Diesels to... I have the Black Diamond Set by Lionel....(6-31993). Thats where I got this name...Black Diamond...but I love my Steamers.... The Polar Express... I think that was with a 2-8-4 Berkshire if I aint mistaken. But I think Lionel got carried away with the add on cars to The Polar Express.. If you assemble the Fastrack to the normal 40 X 60 Oval, and run all of the cars that came with the set and add in all the add on cars, The Engineer is going to be sitting in the caboose or in the car that is in front the caboose. I technically dont know what they call them on the passenger trains as opposed to freight trains (the caboose) maybe some one can enlighten me...

 Sturgeon-Phish....

Thanks for the welcome, Wallpaper!! Do I need to say more? U didnt say what color you are painting the room???

Chief,

Will have to try that...next time i'm there, vanilla bean double blended, is that a frapp or coffee? Oh by the way I see you are from Nc also, I have been told about this place by guys at work that know I collect trains... Spencer, Nc? I have heard they have a huge layout down there...have you ever been there? I think its a mixture of all scales.... I dont know, just wondering... I was thinking on taking a trip down there.

The Flamingos, sounds like you have a whole flock in the backyard...

--Black Diamond-- One thing about a train, it doesnt matter where it's going, You just have to decide to get on... Woo Wooo.....

Good Afternoon All,

Colin - Great news on the license!  Congratulations !

Buckeye - Better head that Dusey out here!  There is a flock of em at the Robinson Auto Museum.  Even a few Edsels, and Turners.

Fife - Are those birds insured?  That is really a great job on the display board, hope it is prominently displayed, deserves a special spot.  Great job!!

Black Diamond - The trestle at the club took over 2 years to build.  It still is being worked on.  It is spectaculor!!  All scratch built as well.  My wife was familiar with that drink, she said that Venti just means tall, and that it was really sweet.  Who woulda known?  Also regarding the Chief, I've been looking for some pictures I had of Roseyville a couple of years ago,if I find them I will post it.

Last night we spent the evening at Verizon, ALL new cell phones!  Even I have one now. The challenge will be if I can figure it out before I loose it.  Of course it has features on it I didn't know I needed.

Got my RK Big Boy (Little Boy) all packaged up, sending it off to Co. for repair.  UGH!!!!  I think the boards are bad and of course it is out of warranty!  Sad [:(]

Some really concerning news: Since Chris had the lung collapse, the Dr. said it may not reoccur and be self healing.  We found out last night he has been having chest pains and difficulty breathing for the past week!  So right now he is at the hospital having a chest x-ray, so the Dr. can see if anything is going on.  He just started back to school yesterday, my big concern is that surgery may be iminent.  Sure hope not!!  Disapprove [V]Sigh [sigh]Sigh [sigh]

Well got to get to work!

Evenin' boys.  Muggy & 91 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.

laz/dbaker - I actually bought the frame 3-4 months ago Dunce [D)], but just got around to presenting things for framing last month.  Right now it's in the living room, with a future in the train room.

Black Diamond - Check out CTT Jan '08.  And yeah, it was a pretty cool deal.  Hope to do it again in the next couple years.

Phish - INSURANCE?!Shock [:O]  Gonna have to look into a rider to my policy.

kpolak - Thanks for the link, Kurt.  Will look it up.Wink [;)]

mitchie - Yeah, I kinda forgot the cold lonely nights in the doghouse...but then again, I 'm always one paw away from it at all times...

dbaker P.S. - best wishes for the boy.

My layout is going to be loosely based on 2 super O Lionel  Display layouts back to back with an extra loop surronding them. Loosely because I will be using Gargraves track and atlas 0-36 switches and I do not have any of the accessories .....yet I do have some K-line accessories from before lionel take over that will be incorperated. Two Items on my to get list that are not original accessories are the canadian mounty rescue by lionel and man fishing from bridge pier by k-line.

I have been to Kokomo back in 1990 to apply at Delco when I was a student here in Columbus at DeVry did not get hired on but was an interesting experience.

I like all steam engines and transition era deisels also like more modern stuff if it is CSX (a lot of family has worked for that railroad in Willard Ohio)

Good evening all

Another beautiful day in Southern Ohio.

All of the bedroom  walls are painted except for the wall that had the wallpaper.  The patching and priming did not enough to color coat and there is a couple of places that need touched up.  I swear I rather patch a hole tan repair where the paper has torn!

Grandkids start kindergarten tomorrow.  They are excited.  They grow so fast!

Mitch and Laz and all you others who teach our kids, you have a really important job.  I think many times your role is taken for granted, and your value to our kids underestimated.  My hat is off to all of you and I pray for your vocation, for you and the young lives you will shape and impact.  Thank you very much.  God bless you.

Anjdevel2 - are you taking progress pictures?  When I go to car shows I love to look at the progress photos.

Black Diamond - The walls were beige and now light green.  Looks like mint ice cream.  I suggested painting in a few dark brown chips and it would look like mint chocolate ice cream.

Buckeye - Have you checked the fuel filter for grits?

Fife - I was so distracted by the classic flamingos I did not notice your article display.  Very nicely done.

Don B - I will say an extra prayer for Chris

Good night and may God bless

Jim
