Morning to All

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I am still here and kickin'.  Today is the first day back for teachers.  The building is mostly ready, but we still have some little piddly items to have to be finished.  Biggest is is with some metal bookshelves that are crumbling due to poor construction. Had to pull all out of service and trying to get vendor to deal with manufacturer.  Pain in the butt. Still lots of books that need to be and distributed tobookrooms.

Have a great day.

Morning!

Good day at the Fair Saturday!  Bride and I rode the Himalaya (sp?)  I rode it as a kid, round-de-round up and down.  At top speed the operator blew a train whistle.....Boy that was loud!

Ran trains with the Motor City group Saturday evening...nice to get out with the boys for a change.  Ran the 2025 for about 2-hours...just barely getting warm!  Smile [:)]

Church published a need for tech people...looks like I'm in it again.  Sent e-mail to get started.  Bride approved.  Will be nice to get into the audio again.  I sure miss it.

Chief:  Great Job!  Glad she likes suprises!  You'll be paid back tenfold with the legacy stuff.

Colin:  Happy belated Birthday!

Brutus:  I thought we paid for the Tardis in Banilla!  Laugh [(-D]  We can aways go back and make up the payments!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cool and sunny 53 degrees. Going up to 84 today with sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have errands to run. Then, the usual chores around the house. Maybe I'll get some relaxing time later.

I am working on a project to hinge the steel blue bridge this winter. I have to get some parts and work out the details. This will make it easier to get to the center of the layout, without ducking under.

Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Still ain't done painting the outside of the house.  Wish I had 88's energy.

Greeting from Soggy and damp No.FL.  Rain today, expecting Aunt Fay Wednesday Night/Thursday morning

Rained off & on Saturday and Sunday.  Didn't do much this weekend, cleaned the train room and layout, layed down the new parking lot at the Diner, ran the 2026 also.  Runs good!  Bought some stuff for the car project, will tackle that later.  Have to work on one of the driver's cars, thank goodness I have a 3 sided garage to work in.

Princess was so excited to get to school today, she got us up at 4:45 this am.  didn't need to be there until 7.  That'll wear off by Sept 2..... Guaranteed!!!

Catch ya on the flip!

GOOD  MORNING ALL

Phish-looks like your luck has run out, might as well face the music, sorry. We have another beautiful summer day so I guess the grass will get a haircut. I need one too but I also need help holding the mower over my head. Kids DON"T try that..Chief, good job last nite, you made us all proud. My wife got an unexpected day off but we can't go anywhere for the day as I have the cable guy coming..Phone and internet disconnect without any reason known to me. no bad weather. Maybe loose connection. So grass it will be, and some kind of train stuff here at home...S.J.

Morning all. Beautiful day here again. I am in the office for the first time since Tues. so much catching up to do.

Sir James, I am impressed your grass is still growing. Mine looks like straw. And the dirt is now as hard as concrete. The youngest and I tried unsuccessfully to plant some watermelon and cucumber seeds he had saved (his idea).

Hope I don't have to replace the roof anytime soon - like anytime during the next ten years when the kids start going to college. LOL.

Brutus, I don't mind the taste of Michelob Ultra. It has a definitely strong taste. I second Laz' Man Law.  Why are we behind in payments on the Tardis? Maybe the bill is still going to the Doctor and you know how he is. Let's see -- I have a dime, a piece of string, a washer, and half-a-stick of gum in my pocket. You can have the dime for this month's payment.

Mitch, good luck with the upcoming opening of the school. Our youngest meets his kindergarten teacher for a brief interview today- who knows what he'll say to her...

Kurt, I am always impressed with the audio boards at church. Too many dials and buttons. I'll stick with video - even with four cameras and a few other video imputs, it seems simpler.

Reading a book about the wreck of the airship Shenandoah in Nobles County, Ohio...

Doug:  LOL!  I'm right at home with the audio...even with a 52 channel board, with 10 outs!  The video and lighting controls, especially lighting looks like greek!

Morning All!!  Been awhile since I last posted.  Been busy with either work, or train club Operating session.

Lots of activities and happenings recently on the forums.  IMO each forum has its own personality, and if you don't like it don't go there.  Personally I enjoy this one the most.

On the train side have had a lot of activity, received a upgrade board for the ZW (new version) to fix a Legacy related problem.   Going to wait a hile before installing to make sure there are no other problems or variables involved before I introduce more.  GOOD NEWS is I got my Lionel BB BACK on Friday!  Havn't taken it out of the box yet, maybe tonight.  Since I initially received it in January, it has spent between 3 and 4 months either at Lionel or in transit back and forth.  MAYBE its home for good.

The BAD news is my RK Big Boy decided to go down Thursday night.  It just decided to die.  Will not run in conventional or do anything!  I can hear a faint click when power is povided but that is it.  All the other DCS engines run fine, checked the battery, recharged, and even swapped, no affect.  Can't do a engine reset or nothing.  Think I will have to send it to Colorado.

An update on the tunnel at the club....  Ironic that since I opened the topic up a week ago, all of a sudden activity has been bumped up a couple of notches. Here are a couple of pictures.

The white paper is where the tunnel is going to be.  Currently there are two main line tracks in parallel that run inside.  The exposed side of the tunnel is going to be scenic with cliff facings.  The whole objective is to provide a base for a On30 track on the upper level.

On the far right side is the facing and bridge leading into the tunnel.  The 2 cars in front of the white paper and cars sitting on the top surface are standard size O scale cars.  (perspective)

All the framing from the water tower forward suddenly was completed within 3 days of my initial concern being voiced.  (The white board in the foreground with the rust stains, is a scenic view of the LA River Channel,  as viewed from across the room, really!)

Thought I would throw in a picture of the last Operating System.  The one on the LEFT is Chris (son), he had defined a switching problem that Chuck was trying to resolve.

So it will be interesting to see what happens regarding the tunnel.  I am taking a very passive role in its determination.  As some of you may remember the old adage, Lead, Follow or Get Out of The Way!  After voicing my concerns, I think I will adopt the latter.  (Have my own layout to be concerned about.)

So I need to make some adjustments for the Big Boy that I got back, and need to send the Little Boy in for some attention.

Off to work!!!  Hope everyone has a great Day !!!!

          Good Morning to Everyone,

I am new to this forum, I dont quite know everyone, but from reading the last few post one can kind of familiarize themselves with the current chit-chat....(you notice I didnt say gossip, that would not be good, a bunch of men gathering together to gossip over coffee uhmm...in Brutus's case "Fruit in his Beer" Sorry Brutus, I couldnt resist). But anyway...The Morning Report from Burlington, Nc is Sunny Skies, the Temp currently is 76 degrees. Giving the the grass its weekly trim, is done I did that Saturday. We also drug out the grill and grilled out last night for dinner thats always fun. Gonna have to do it again next Sunday, Johnsonville Brats and Bush Brothers Baked Beans Country Style, Corn on the Cob...Dinner [dinner](sorry got carried away)  As far as train stuff goes...I am still in the planning mode of my new and first layout...so as far as building it, its still on paper. I want to purchaes that RRTrack Designer software to play with it a little bit. I enjoy sitting outside or even going in the building, and thinking of how its going to look when its all done...thats a good motivator for me.

But anyhow I just wanted to jump in and say hello to everyone, also, I hope the coffee in the pot is not four years old. I drink Starbucks Breakfast Blend that is good but later in the day, I would rather have a Venti Mocha Frappuccino....

All Aboard... Departing on Track #9 From Burlington, NC

Destination : Infinity and Beyond..  (Toy Story)

--Black Diamond-- One thing about a train, it doesnt matter where it's going, You just have to decide to get on... Woo Wooo.....

'Vaniila ice cream'! You're talking my language. There's a wonderful firm in Macclesfield about seven miles away called 'Granellis'. I'd kill for their banilla.

Had a few minutes to drop by and say Hi.  Now I know what Mitch/Roy/et al have been going through lately!

New job = more work. Then I get sidelined with a cold for 2 weeks! OUCH!

Fife - my energy... you'll be twice your size in two weeks!

Chief - depends on what type of work it is.

John Deere bit the dust AGAIN (second time in two months) so I had to PUSH mow 1.3 acres yesterday - yes while fighting a cold. I was NOT happy. Did get the master bedroom steam cleaned... boy did it need it. Think I'll have to put that on a more frequent 'To-Do-List'.

Doc put me on some new meds yesterday... result... I've been up since 9:30am yesterday and I STILL do not feel tired. Sigh [sigh]

Sign - Welcome [#welcome]  Black Diamond, I take it that you like Coal hauling and maybe steamers as well? If I had the room I would make a layout that would have a mine or two an locomotive servicing facility and a destination for loaded hoppers but I do not so I am building a loosely based lionel display layout.

Well, I haven't been on here for a long time. I think I was spending too much time on that other forum, and since I am a Lionel collector and operator, and have had a subscription to CTT since the first issue, it's about time I get back. TCa77-11670 Ed
