Buckeye, smoke unit is easy.  Lionel.  If you can't find one, I've got several.

Rain all around but none in Roseyville since Sunday School time.  Got 4 tenths then.  Bet we get more before the night is over.  Weatherperson said this AM, "Only slight chance."  Been weather alerts all day.

Ran trains and swapped engines around.  Ran my MTH Santa Fe F3's.  First time in months.  Ran good.

Later.

Hey guys, instead of drywall I went to the hobby store with my wife and kids.  I picked up the Woodland Scenics Farmer's Market scene and the Lionel/K-Line catalogs.  Started to trim around the house, but after the front and sides the rain came.  I quit and the rain did too Laugh [(-D]  I took this as a sign and goofed off the rest of the day.  Played phone tag, but finally got to talk to Kurt tonight - good man!  Emails with Sir James this morning, but nothing tonight?  Hope you are feeling okay?  Doug, hope the beetles are dropping like flies!

Chief - I think those grits you put in that smoke unit you-know-where did the trick!  You are da man!

Well, Sir James has the banilla and goodies, I've got some Sam Adams, Budweisers, and maybe an Old Mill or two?  Turn on the beacons and lets get the show going!  I think we need to see if Don's neighbor is out of jail yet?

Good evening all,

It was a nice day in SE Indiana.  Watched the high school boys team whip up on "my" soccer girls Friday night 6-0, which I think surprised both teams.  Mowed the yard Saturday and then went to Kentucky Speedway.  The weather was nice, the roads were good and the traffic not too bad.  Saw an exciting race, but Manning, Sarah and AJ IV all had bad luck.   Sarah drove the wheels off her car and would have beaten the Princess, but lost a wheel bearing on the last lap.  Sunday edged and trimmed the yard and ran the 318E and Lionel Classics upstairs tonight.  I had bran muffins on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Evening everyone!  Had to go in and do some rounds, but I am off call in the morning and should have a early day of  it.  Been crazy lately, but at least I am on this side of the drapes during the cases.  Can always be worse.

Jack, I saw an episode of "this Old House" in which they sprayed some kind of oil on the leaves of the trees and it kills the insects, but is not poisonous.  I think it suffocated them.  As for grubs, you know you have  a problem when the armadillos start to burrow in your yard.

As to camps for kids with cancer, they are great.  I highly encourage folks to spend a little time, be a volunteer counselor for a few camp ventures.  While outsiders think how it is great that you give so much to these kids, but I can tell you from personal experience, you get a lot more out of it than you can ever put in.  I worked for several years at a camp in Alabama that I had the privilage to work with some of the greatest kids you could ever meet.  Some were given the gravest of news just before coming to camp, yet they never let it get them down.  I was and am truely inspired.  Their web site: http://www.campsam.org/

I worked both morning and evening services on camera 1.  I love serving, but it really does take it's toll on my back.  Was a great service and Sunday School was extra special too.  Got to watch a few episodes of "Trains and Locomotives" on the DVR from RFD-TV.

I hope everyone has a great week ahead.

God Bless,

Dennis

WAY TO GO RT!!!!!!

Fife, Pam and I were in Lexington VA and traveled north and then east to Harpers Ferry.  From there we went north east to a town and it was having trains days.  I think the WM was there.  Big street fair and etc.  I bought a raffle ticket from some Fire Dept for a Silverado [they never called me to come and get it].  The town was right near and south of the PA line as we then drove north to Gettysburg.  Give me some feed back on this.

Just finished a great movie on MAX On Demand.  Jody Foster in The Brave.  A must see.  Popcorn finished and off to bed.

Good night.  Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

SHH Brutus, don't let our secret about Buckeye's smoke unit out.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear and sunny 56 degrees. Going up to 78 today with mostly sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have a bunch of errands to run this morning and this afternoon, I have a special meeting with a train buddy for supper. I am looking forward to it. It hasn't been officially declared an OTTS meeting, but it will probably become one.

Dining car has arrived and is serving breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Pleasant and 61 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.

rt - Outstanding, dear Sir.  Your "journey" this past year certainly has meaning.

Chief - I'm guessing that you went thru Hagerstown, as they have WESTERN MARYLAND #132 on display there.  Other towns that have similar events are Sykesville, Thurmont, and Mt.Airy.

Bakeer - That Phelps chap is from my neck of the woods.

Morning all.  Fife, think it might have been Sykesville.  And A and B unit [I think] came and was there.  Track ran right though town and like one or two block off of main st.  Big festival.

Things to do today to prepare for Pam's 50th party.  Trying to set it up for Saturday evening.  Cleaned house [again] this AM.  Grass to mow since we had rain.

Later.

We had some wild weather this past weekend here on the east end, BUT between the storms on Friday evening, and Sunday evening we had perfect summer weather. The perfect weather part takes on greater importance when you have house guests.

Speaking of the storms on Friday afternoon, it played havoic with the LIRR trains running to the Hamptons and Montauk, and The Cannonball wound up about 90 minutes off the adverstised.

Our house guests were lucky as they took the extra Greenport Scoot trains that runs on Fridays and got in right on-time.

Gas prices here have started to fall (cheapest regular is at 3.89), but ridership on the LIRR and Hampton Jitney continues at a record clip.

Sun is shining now that the damp raining weekend is over. We did need some rain but the timing was all wrong for us. No plans for today but a trip to the train store is on for tomorrow. All is well, I guess....S.J.

Fife, about 6 or 8.  They closed main street and had venders and etc.  Good hotdogs [Reb style, chilli, mustard and onions].  They called it train days but not a lot of trains when I was there that afternoon.  The town was off of the main highway [I remember that].

Phone has rung off the hook this AM.  Can't get away from it.  Off to run errands.  Later.

Chief - Not sure what engines you saw, however, if I had to guess, the B&O RR Museum may have sent WESTERN MARYLAND #236 (which was right around the time it was repainted) to make a guest appearance on the Old Main Line subdivision.

Godd afternoon, ya'll,

I had to read 4 pages of Pot posts just to catch up. Wow!! [wow]

Friday afternoon's 20 mile drive down to East Boston turned into a nightmare.  We in MA. do most of our road repairs during peak driving hours. Angry [:(!]  The 20 mile 2.25 hour return was even worse because we got hit with severe weather (hail, rain, thunder, lightening, and high winds) and folks thought it was wise to drive Faster when the roadway is under water, especially through pooling in low spots under the bridges.  You guessed it, dead car city, 2 of 3 lanes blocked with 15 dead cars in the water during rush hour.  Knuckleheads hanging out their stranded car windows looking for help, but I forgot my gun. Disapprove [V] Thumbs Down [tdn]

I watched the Olympics Saturday and Sunday evening with family over at my place.  Just like the old days in the 60s.  In swimming, I felt really bad Whistling [:-^] when we nipped the French at the wall in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay.  With the French world record holder in the 100 meter freestyle ("we'll smash the Americans") anchoring his team and with one body length lead, he gets overhauled by the oldest American swimmer!  Don't ya hate when that happens? Thumbs Up [tup]  Wife still doesn't appreciate aging husband, screaming at the TV set down the stretch.

It's been a Summer quite unlike any other we've had here in my 20 years as a MA. resident.  No drought, watering restictions, or dormant lawns, especially the past 6 weeks or so.  One rain after another, like right now.  4" thus far in August alone, challenging the Florida boys for most precipitation.  More on the way.  Lawn mowing?  Darned if you do and cursed if you don't.

GregM......said a prayer for your second interview today.  My best wishes it went great.

Who is this lionroar88/Brent guy?  Newbie?  He almost had me in tears with his commute woes.... until I got to thinking about our commutes up my way.  Luckily he got his auto a/c fixed.

Don.....keep us posted on your negotiations over the club tunnel proposal.  Henry Kissinger ain't got nothing on you.

RT and Jon.....if the media spent just 10% of their coverage on the types of things you two are doing in service for others, we'd be well on the way to a better world.  It gets me to feeling badly about how I have fallen off the Special Olympics bandwagon in recent years.  Your example has awakened me.  Thank you. Thumbs Up [tup] Thumbs Up [tup] Bow [bow]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Chief.....up in MA., the pols would not permit any birth control or forced sterilization on the Gypsy Moths without an act of legislation and signed parental consent. Laugh [(-D]  Glad to hear the puppy travails continue with Lucy....better you than me.

SirJames.....you cannot call your malady a train addiction because addicts never sell their stash. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Brutus and Chuck......stop mowing your lawns and then telling us about it.  You're making us feel guilty.  And Jim, I think you are creating an interesting mix of Tardis and Star Trek.

Fife.....who's Paul?

Laz.....two days off from running?  Wear a disguise and the police won't be able to make the connection between you and the wanted posters.

DougM......somehow a Fall application of grub control (Scotts' GrubX) sounds about two months late for Northern Illinois.  I'll have to go back and check the website.  Your weather and the Grub cycle isn't much different than here.
