Good morning all,
It is cold in SE Indiana with temps in the 20s today. Went to a scholarship meeting at the high school last night. Watched "Deal or No Deal" as well with wife. It is interesting to watch people overreach themselves time after time. Started working on a kid's story again. Pasting text into a .JPEG file is so much fun....not!
Chief, I will oblige with a picture of the lamp as soon as I get the next roll of film developed and have a CD made with it. Yes, I am not only the last person without a cell phone, but also the last one without a digital camera. I know the digital age is passing me by, but sometimes I do not feel the "need" to have all the latest bells and whistles. I will get a picture made.
Doug, I agree with you about the use of old footage on "The War" (how many times can you show the film on Pearl Harbor), but the persepective of telling the story from the viewpoints of four towns scattered across the US is interesting.
The dining car came in from "Points East" with lots of goodies. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 21 degrees. Going up to only 30 today with more snow on the way. Winter is back.
Today, I am staying at home and doing a few things around the house. I will take it easy, and maybe run trains later. I have a few repair jobs to do on the layout. One of the switches is getting slow. Needs a cleaning and lub.
Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
You guys have any frosted mugs for that root beer? I cleaned all the ashes out of the stove, no wonder the coffee was cold. Started new fire, its getting warm allready.
Chief, that is one of my favorite spots. Lunch there everyday, watch the employees for Fritz's take the break out back of the building. (Gentlemens Club, always interesting).
Going to get tomorrow off, payback for weekend.
Last Week 6 of 14/0 of 7/0 of 28, Today 14 of 14/7 of 7/10 of 28

Evening all! Recovering from last week's and weekend's illness OK. Have to leave for NYC tomorrow morning. We take down the Grand Central Terminal layout and ship it back to Texas for some R&R. Back on Thursday night late.
Big Train Show in Plano TX this coming weekend. We will have our big modular layout there (12 x 28 feet). It is set up in the shop and looking good.

This is one of the largest all scales show in the DFW metroplex. Lots o' O Gauge and a big Amer Flyer S gauge layout. Many N and HO layouts. The show is set up so a modular club can set up big layouts. Lots of vendors also.
Have a great week all!
Regards, Roy
Well its time, rootbeer hit the spot, I was confussed as the faq said to change on profile page, didn't mention anything about go to account. but all is well now.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Root beer sounds good. Snowing here.
Trust me, Mitch, gas'll be $4 / gallon by July 4th. At least here in Illinois. Aren't the used gas-sippers pricier these days? When we looked for a replacement car in November, the lots were full of full-size SUVs. I'm learning to try not to worry about something I can't change like the price of gas. Then again, the cost of my Metra tickets is rising 10% in a few weeks. Yikes! .
Going down to the basement to run trains - petrol is cheap on Sodor.

EVENING ALL,
RT= thank you, found it on the first try. I was trying in the wrong place.(update profile)I figured I might prepare ahead then when the time comes I won't have this problem on other sites. So far this was the only one I had a problem with. Can't stand these disconnects, put it off because I didn't want to change everything but i've had enough. Suppose to come next monday.
I just looked outside and its begining to snow and the election is tomorrow. the phones been ringing all day only time its quiet is when I am on here.
Brutus-I need a drink; got any rootbeer. we still have banilla, can pour the rootbeer over it.
I'll be back B 4 ten,,,,,,,Sir james

Should get my car back from the repair on Friday if all goes well. Started looking for replacement vehicles. Took a used Nissa Altima for a test drive. Seemed pretty nice. Any more it seems like a good low mileage used car is nearly the same price as new. Trying to decide if we should buy a new car with high fuel economy. Will probably need it if predictions of $4 per gallon come true. I drive about 45 miles per day round trip.Take care,Mitch

Yep, I can see that now, luckily Chewy is fully grown now!
Sir James, I think RT nailed it on the head, squire!
88 - good luck on the interview!
Magic...I'm appalled at most everything the Chief does.
Evening fellow Southerners. (And Nawtherners)
Went to Home Depot yesterday to get some wood for the layout. Had some 4x8s cut into 3x8s. Also bought plently of 2x4s and 1x4s.

Good Evening................
A little snow dusting today. Cold. Getting down to 22 tonite.
I'm glad today is done. :Lots of people dealing with, today. Once you get thru the automated systems, then you get dumb people. In other countries. Speaking another language. I must have gotten thru to the South. LOL
Be back later.....
Hi all,
19:00hrs here in the UK. Cold but a least its dry. Ran my Williams scale Hudson yesterday. Looks great on 072!

Morning fellas!Got my school work done so now I can goof-off the rest of the day! Have an interview on Wednesday, pretty much just a formality so if the benefits are right and the people are nice, I'll probably be changing jobs in the near future! Fife, that'll mean we'll have to hook up some weeknight soon - or we'll have to run trains on a weekend...GB/NE superbowl. This is what I've been saying for about a month now. I think GB wins it... just a gut feeling. Doug - NE now has more wins in one season than the Fins... so maybe they will be quiet?
Go Giants! It was nice to see them win. I hope they have a good showing in GB and that, even if they don't pull it off, whoever wins that game beats the Pats. A cooler day this morning and it actually won't make it to the 70s. I am on call so I hope to have a good week. Making plans for Orlando and my meeting.
Roy, glad you are home, hope you feel better soon. The last few years, I have been catching some kind of funk that requires steroids with antibiotics to kick. I have had cold like symptoms last for over a month.
May everyone have a blessed week.
Dennis
Good Morning
Snow flurries this AM, kind of like a drizzle but white. Not sure about today as yet my wife is not back from getting the gr.sons off to school. So one never knows.
What Brutus said was "the battery in my old(wifes)laptop". Just so there is no misunderstanding.
Later All,,,,,,,Sir James
EDIT,,,Kurt- the sunday show is at the Troy Athen HS on John R. We don't go to the Novi show. Not worth paying for parking and admission. I have a Saline flyer ,thats a thinking about it. Last time we went parking was a nitemare.
Mornin' boys. Overcast & 30-ish in the Mid-Atlantic region. Princesses overslept this mornin', and you should have seen the blonde locks a-flurrying. Unfortunately, the boy was asked to hold his bathroom privileges until after first period. Poor kid. I'm off today, so will get some quality train layout time.
Would anyone begrudge FAVRE one last ring? It was fun to watch him this weekend.

Thanks for your congas, Roy. I didn't think we'd go this long in the playoffs. I'll enjoy every minute of this. And to think, I'll be in NJ to watch the game, after, of course, I get out of the Trenton Devils Hockey game. My NJ Devils are doing well also. 3 more days of this and then fly the silver bird to Newark, 5 Exits south to "home". 6 days in normalcy then back to FL. Wife wants a sit down after I get back. Topic: move north. She has a job transfer pending with same company. Homes with basements. Real Attics. Real winter, spring and a bareable SUMMER! Cooler fall. Hmmmm.
Not sure...need a JOB first. Decisions, decisions......
Worked on the layout this weekend, Christmas stuff back in the attic, car back in the garage (yeah, we have a lot of stuff). Re-doing the layout, trying to acquire another foot on one end and another foot on the L side...wonder if wife will notice? Oh well,,,,,,,,coffee time then back to work..
