Good evening everyone,

I'm still live, but definitely not in the best shape. I saw my surgeon yesterday, and he was not really happy with my knee. I cannot bend it as far as it should be, so tomorrow I have to go back under. They are probably going to stretch it out, and snap the scar tissue so I can regain mobility. I was really upset about it, but I am happy that it is nothing too serious. It was that or the really painful route which meant they would put my knee at 90 in therapy, which he said would make anyone cry.

Well, it snowed here....it's now changing to sleet. I got the DVD set of Band of Brothers, so far I hve finished 6 parts, ending at Bastogne

Jason, feel better soon.

Phish, thank God that you are ok. I don't even want to think of a fall like that.

Chief, sounds like a nice layout

Fife, way TOO many trees....I could not handle that.

Brent, thanks for the concern...good luck with the benchwork.

Laz, how much snow did you get out there?

Chuck, all  hve to say is thank God I am not driving yet. I'll probably have no money left after I start driving from all this gas money.

Grayson, how ya' been?

Marty, looking good sir.

Dennis congrats on Legacy.

Bruce Webster, hope you get Legacy soon.

Buckeye, take the weekend off will ya'?

Yankee invasion repelled.  Wife said it was snohioing at 5 AM.  Turned to rain.  Our spies say there is another Yankee raid on the way for all day Saturday.  Could get 4 to 5 inches of snohio. Grumpy [|(]  Got train show Saturday at Fair Grounds and in a great building instead of that crummy place we usually have it.  Hope the snohio doesn't hurt that one.  Been trying to get them to move it to this building for a couple of years.  Located at the main part of the Flea Market.  More exposure and central heat and A/C.

Ran conventionals with TPC and Leagacy remote for the first time today.  Worked great.  Cold mist now.  Deer were waiting and came running as soon as I got away from the corn I had just dumped.  I walked away from truck and they would look but not run.  Getting there.

Fried chicken, turnips and colards for dinner.  UMMMM  Later.

Evenin' boys.  Snowhizo & 31-33 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. 10-50s (Sorry, motor vehicle accidents) all over the landscape, and for once I can say the roads are that nasty.

On the layout, I'd bet I've planted close to 500 trees on the CUMBERLAND EXTENSION, some not more than an inch tall (forced perspective).  Haven't been able to run trains due to the "web" of hot glue strands I've got to clean up.

Had to get caught up on the past few pages...

Phish - Glad that fall didn't cause major damage. Angel [angel]  Now, go play the lottery.

Marty - Cool remotes.Thumbs Up [tup]  All the Legacy talk is intriguing, but I'm gonna stay a conventional kinda guy.  I seem to have to hold a remote for everything, and my Z-4000 throttle is just a nice departure from the real world.

GregM - if gas were $2.79 in MD, our Gov & willing acomplices would feel it time for a fuel tax to bring us more in line with Great Britain...Disapprove [V]

anjdevil - So...how was that flight...?

I saw gas priced at $2.799 on the way home tonight.  Didn't stop as I had filled up this morning expecting the usual Thursday mid-morning price hike.  Would have been rather late getting home if I needed gas as the lines of cars waiting to get to the pumps were pretty long.

Good Afternoon everyone.  Worked late last night, but did make it to the dinner.  Before leaving work, spoke with bride and she told me I had a box from the Train-Station.  Almost skipped dinner to go open a box.  Anyway, I am now amoung the proud owners of the new Legacy System from Lionel.  While I don't have any Legacy engines, I am at the point of having the layout wired and figured it will be something to grow into.

On the weather front, was raining all yesterday and still going today.  Was in the high 40s this morning, but by the time I came into the hospital, it had dropped to the mid 30s.  I almost wore long pants today, but figure it is only a few steps from the parking deck to the warm inside the building.  Ohio can keep this cold stuff.'

God Bless,

Dennis

Mitch--

"Gravity, it's the law". One of our physics teachers used to wear that t-shirt on in service days, always cracked me up. Speaking of cold---tomorrow nights wind chills will reach -30, good grief. Sound like a good night for the fireplace to roar, haven't even used it this year. Good look w/interviews, don't miss those days.

Good Morning/Afternoon

Been working a lot, not much time for trains.  Did spend time working on bridge, and some shelving.  Put up three 12 foot shelves which will hold two tracks each, and one 6 foot shelf.  Be glad to get the shelves filled.

Oh, Yeah Thomas left town.

Morning all - supposed to get brutally cold tonight and into next week. Looks like transit 'doomsday' in Chicago will be averted by the politicos at the last second again, with a tax raise. Ran trains last eve. Made a few lanterns for Thomas and friends' pilots - it would be neat to figure out a way to place them temporarily according to the train being run. Thinking about selling a few items to afford Diesel. They're 'rationalizing' salary grades at work. Never good. Wink [;)]

Morning all

Mike- A move from small towns to Detroit, quite a culture shock is coming.  Like they say don’t let the bright lights dazzle you.

Jim- Security interviews are really a big deal any more.  For guys we hire an “easy” clearance takes 6 months and easily $5K.  When interviewing job applicants ones whose resume shakes clean will get put ahead of an equal candidate with flags that would create complications.  Best candidate in the world does me no good when he can not have access to job essential information.

Brent-Quite a package they offer, and the reimbursement is an issue.  If new company hip on continuing ed, ask about the new company picking up the reimbursement tab.  They may see it and professional development dollars in their budget.  Pray for guidance with this one my friend.

Cool and overcast with snow falling.  Does not look like I’ll be getting on the roof today.  Feeling better after my gravity test.  I think working yesterday instead of laying around worked out the kinks.  Bride thinks I’m nuts.  We’ll see, if the sun would come out for just a few hours I could make progress.

Well I’ll use this time to study some.

May God bless

Jim

Morning!

Litigation in Kodiak Junction????  Alert the TV stations!  Marty needs some work with all the awards ceremonies going belly up.  Or is it cover your belly up?

Just ran the new Burro Crane.  What a cool thing this is!  I love it!  I never thought I'd own one of these.  It didn't really peak my interest, until I ran it.

Received another Monon car I forgot I bought...with the origional Christmas present from my bride!  That makes 1-Burro Crane, 2-Boxcars, and a handful of parts, from the same present!

BIL and I were talking about why people buy trains, and asked if I was making any money off it...  I replied it's just for the 'enertainment value.

He origionally designed Dies for Lionel, and got to keep all the first runs, and was able to take all the prototypes with him, but he wasn't interested in the stuff so he left it.  DOH!  I told him he could have retired on what he left.

Good morning all,

It is a snowy day in SE Indiana with temps in the 20s and 30s.  I did 30 minutes of track work at the YMCA last night and watched a little bit of "Deal or No Deal" and "American Idol".  It is always interesting to watch people who think they can sing get so upset when they are rejected.  It is also interesting to hear about the reaction on a security check about chatting with our friends across the pond.  I wonder what they would say about my Norwegian soccer friend!?!?!  I never quite thought about it in those terms.

It was the usual fare on the dining car today.  Lunch was a little different yesterday as we had leftovers from a business lunch brought in from Buca de Beppo's.  It was fairly good and I did not have to pack a new lunch for today.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin' Fellas.

Made it to work this morning before the nasty stuff hits... guess I'll be driving home in it! Yeah!! [yeah]

Interview went well last night... now just a matter of if the contracting company can make it worth my while to leave here. The long term career benefits are great, but I have to look at short term finances also. Being in Master's school and my company paying for most of it, but requiring a 1 year commitment after the class ends or having to prorate payback the money makes it hard to leave... but the new company is growing and has LOADS of professional development, technology development (learning new languages), as well as potential management... Confused [%-)]

Trying to find a good recipe for a marsala sauce...

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 30 degrees. Going up to 39 today with a chance of some snow flurries.

Looks like the South is getting all the snow. Darn......Big Smile [:D]

Today is a less busy day. I have a little project to work on and then I will take it easy and run trains this afternoon. I got gas for the car yesterday at $2.99 a gallon. That was from Shell, who was cheaper than the WalMart station. It's still , way too high.

Buckeye....You are working too hard. Hope you have the weekend off.

Chief...... Do you have a big snow shovel ?

Well, the Dining car has rolled in and it's " All Aboard " for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

No snow here.  Was up at 3:30 and only damp leaves.  When I got back up at 6:30, rain.  Weatherperson said snowed around 3 AM all the way to Fayettville.  Then turned to rain.  Just a cold wet day.  Guess 8 Am breakfast with Wake County Schools has been delayed until 10 AM.  They are under inclement weather policy.  Will sit and drink coffee.  Later.

About 3" of snow here in the N.C. High Country since midnight-----28F @ 6:30 a.m.

Started sleeting around 3:30 a.m. but is supposed to warm up and turn to rain---I hope!  Got to travel to Greensboro later today. Looking across the valley toward highway 194 I haven't seen any traffic moving which is not normal because these mountain folks don't usually let a little snow stop them.

Got a bad cold comeing on this morning, roads look clear today the white stuff and freezing rain will come on my days offYeah!! [yeah]

Just ordered a machanics creeper and roll around stool to make working on layout easy from a place called Northern tool, the selling point for me is the 350lbs capacity the two together were 24.99 but shipping is calculated by weight(add another 20.00) It is metal not wood I still think it is worthwhile to invest in tools such as this as it could be used in garage as well. Lots of bad things going this morning in Columbus in the newsDisapprove [V]

well got to be off to work in a few later.
