Good morning everyone,

Yesterday went well. My doctor tokk a picture of my knee at 120 degrees, so we now know I can do it. My whole right leg hurts from it now. He said he could hear the scar tissue snapping when he started bending.

Well, probably an hour after I got home, I came upstairs to finish Part 7 of Band of Brothers. Has anyone else seen it?

Chief, have a good day too.

Dennis you may wanto to check with a website called JusTrains...... www.justrains.com

They had a lot of Atlas stuff the last time I checked.

Well, I'm going to relax, so have a good day everyone.

(ps: good luck to anyone who is building benchwork today)

Morning all!  Took a pain pill last night and feel a whole lot better today.  Work got a bit crazy this past week and took it's toll on me.  Still on call, but if all goes well today, I will be getting some good work on the layout.  Also have to get back on the Doll House project....3 year old wants some progress!

Dog is getting more and more like one of the kids.  I had to break the news to him this morning that he is a DOG!  He woke me up wanting to be fed.  When I put his bowl outside, he backed up as if to tell me he wanted to be fed indoors today....after all, the yankee weather is here!

I am looking for a Savannah and Atlanta GP35 high nose from Atlas.  They were made a few years ago.  I called around to a number of stores, but was not able to find one.  If anyone has one they are willing to sell or the knowledge of where I may find one, please PM or email me.

Well, I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Dennis

PS: took family out to a new, fancy restaurant the other night.  Wife had Grouper with fried GRITS!  It was delicious.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 17 degrees. Going up to 26, today with a few snow flurries. This is going to be a cold weekend.

Today is a relaxing day. A few chores to do and then down to the train room for some cleaning. Running trains will be fun. I need to finish up on the ballast job on the blue bridge. I will take pictures.

Dining car is here and it's time for the breakfast call. Later.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Morning all

Cool clear and frosty in Southern Ohio.  At work on dayshift.  Assignments passed out.  Hope to have a good day.  Chicken ladder hook I ordered came in yesterday, so on next day off I'll be ready to hit the roof (as opposed to the ground) Black Eye [B)]and finish it up.

To get real cool tonight, single digits.  Going to do a walk around to ensure all the air makeup louvers are closed.  I don't want a repeat of the last time we had a cold snap.  Three heat exchangers froze and busted the pipes, one over top of 13.8KV/480V transformer.  That was exciting!

Check back later.  Try and have some fun with trains today for me!

May God bless

A VERY good morning all, this is the first opportunity I've had to get on.  This dial up stuf is for the birds....but it's Mom & Dad's so I don't complain.

It went from 48 to 33 in 3 hours here, went to a Trenton Devils Game (of course they lost to Reading 3-1). Fife, the flight was good up 'til North Carolina, hit some turbulance, dropped the plane a few times, realized it was the Chief, so I knew HE was ok....Whistling [:-^]...

Had dinner at the Italian restaurant last night, went in and it was snowin' came out and it was a rainin'.

Saw my Aunt today, her husband, my Uncle/Godfather passed away 2 years today, still miss him bad.  Great guy, had the Big Casino and it was very quick...

Dad is going to let me unearth the Lionels later today.  Last seen by me in 1969, no joke.  Mom knows where they are. I'm going to take inventory and pictures and bring one home to see how bad to get it up and running again.

Did a little house hunting, visited the High School to check the curiculum for my daughter, so when I get back I can make a presentation to the Wife.  Her idea, I just need to make sure the plans are made correct and executed properly, if it happens at allWhistling [:-^].  Most homes have >>>GASP<<< a BASEMENT!!! A place for me n my stuff!!!

Tonight is the Firemens Dinner, should have a blast I'm just no going to get blasted like last year.  That hangover stuff just sucks...Banged Head [banghead]

Behave youse giz....I'll check up on youze later!

WOW!! Just noticed I opened up on page 41!!! MY FIRE STATION NUMBER!! How cool is that???

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

OH man, my Nana used to make fried cornmeal mush for me - yummy!  A little salty, crunchy, creamy in the middle and covered in butter and syrup!  Man, I really miss that.  Just had a sensory flashback!

Had a little dusting of snow as we left the mall.  Wife wanted to go and find a card shuffle machine with a rubber belt instead of little gears or plastic belt.  Found 2 at 1/2 price on clearance at Spencers so bought both.

Sir James - I think they've got you right where they want you!  Don't let go, either.  Wink [;)]  Sorry, Chewy can't come over.  She's spending the night at a doggy hotel and getting a full spa treatment tomorrow including ears trimmed and nails done.  We all miss her.  Busy busy tomorrow, but will probably be online early in the morning.  Maybe get to run trains Sunday or Monday - 3 day weekend!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

The willard marshes is a wildlife perserve and folks around it sometimes go deer hunting there which seems kinda silly to me as you can sink up to your armpits.

Sorry for Bogging down the coffe pot with talk of swamps and marshesDunce [D)]Clown [:o)]

As for trouble I have been nothing but in trouble all day sent home from work because customers are not sending in purchase orders therefore no need to let us work for nothing, went to bank and cashed my check but asked for 10s and 20s teller looked like I was making her work harder than she wanted to......ect ect.

Found some aprox O scale Johndeer constuction equipment at Walmart but did not want to pay $9.00 each they were in the clearance section 0ther stuff was marked down such as some fancy lightbulbs was 10.22 now 10.00  for 2 pack. Stoped buying Model railroader from them as they not only not take their 10% off coverprice which they are supposed to do on magizines but even actually charged more than the coverprice this happend twice and got tired of going to the service desk to get the addvertized priceSoapBox [soapbox]

NC has Chief... he could probably get you a good deal on realestate in Roseyville. Ms Lisa, Raleightrainfan, and Dewey are there too... maybe someothers as well.

OH has Buckeye, Sturgeon, Chuck, one of the Johns, Wes, GregM, and some others and they have the OTTS... Don, there was some talk awhile back about the Patent and Trademark Office opening up a west coast branch. I'm not sure what the current plans are. They are also discussing expanding our "telework" program to allow part timers to participate. However, as I mentioned earlier, currently you don't get to work at home until after you've been at the PTO for a couple of years. If they ever add a west coast branch, presumably you would be able to put your first couple of years in out there, instead of at the main headquarters in Virginia.

The nice thing about our "telework" program is that ultimately patent examiners will be able to live anywhere in the country and do their job. At present they still want us to come in to the office 1 hour each week, although that requirement is likely to change down the road.

Right now, I'm debating whether to move to Ohio or North Carolina. Anybody have any suggestions as to which state is better? Whistling [:-^]

Morning all. Refreshing the pot. Back from eye surgeon check-in - still seeing, though not as well - thinks I need new glasses. I'll take that over other things it could be. Getting a mite cold, as Jon noted - supposed to be 20 below tonight and into weekend. At least I am working from home today - now that the eye stuff has worn off.

Colin, hang in there. Praying for your knee and PT.

Brent, I'll look for the call. And I get Schraders catalog too! Thanks.

Lots of other things going on, I see. May you all stay warm - even Southerners - and be well.

Last financial thought -- if anyone is working with a broker, do your homework thoroughly. Be sure and ask them what % they are going to get on your money the day you give it to them, I would doubt that you will get an honest answer. There are honest Certified Financial Planners out there, just move cautiously and thoroughly or you won't be buying any more trains and that would be sad (:

We are really paying for having gentle winters for the last few years, it's horrible here right now with big winds and dropping temps, sorry Doug--it's going to be UGLY in the midwest for the next several days. Where's Al Gore?

Late Morning all

On dayshift and busy.  Got this to send you

This Yankee from Massachusetts was hiking through the mountains
of northern Georgia when he came upon the tiniest cabin he had
ever seen in his life. Intrigued, he went up and knocked on the door.

"Anybody home?" he asked.

Yep," came a kid's voice through the door.
"Is your father there?" asked the tourist.

"Pa? Nope, he left afore Ma come in," said the kid.

"Well, is your mother there?" persisted the tourist.

"Ma? Nope, she left just afore I got here," said the kid.
"But," protested the Yankee, "are you never together as a family?"

"Sure, but not here," said the kid thru the door.

"This is the outhouse!."

May God bless

Jim
