John Congratulations!!  Did they send you the "club car" yet?   (I'm expecting a dinning car)

Kinda tired, feel like I worked today.

Went to go out to the train room this morning, I had to go back in and get a sweatshirt, it was only 54. Finally got up to about 68, but when that sun went down, it sure got cold fast.

That was a great Packer/Giant game, (was there a 1/2 time?  Missed it ??)  T, would have liked to see the Pack win though. Did get my shelving done. The shelves I am using are ones I've had for probably 25 years. It has some type of Luan veneer, and boy is that tough! Went thru 4 drill bits, drilling pilot holes. Even got stuff put out on the shelves, and of course ran out of room. I think a train sale may be in the works. Going to get rid of a MPC Disney Set, & 75th Anniversary Special.

Think will go and check the SPF and stuff.

The above picture was taken from San Pedro, (home of our club).  The foreground is San Pedro, LA Harbor, Terminal Island, an oil refinery, then looking across the LA basin, toward Pasadena.  The first hills are in Whittier, then the San Gabriel Mountains. (Photo by Chuck Bradford, club President)

Rich,

There is one I am interested in now. It's my cousins friend and I think I'm meeting her sometime soon.

So, I had a bunch of friends up yesterday evening (I'm posting at 12:18AM). We watched TV and had to keep quiet because both of my parents are sick now. Not such a great time for them to be sick.

Grayson, nice engine choice. I wish I had that money sitting around now. But, most of it would be put into a car.

Good night everyone.

Here's one on me, Rich.  Watch the foam Wink [;)]  John F - congratulations!  Grayson, I think that the lights on that locomotive were mentioned in an earlier post on this board?  CSX doesn't have them so they weren't included - prototypical for the rivet counters I guess.  88 - nice benchwork, of course.

Good morning all,

Today (Monday) is supposed to be the best day of the week weather-wise in SE Indiana with highs in the 30s.  I have the day so that is why I am posting so (late/early).  Watched some of the games today.  I was hoping San Diego could pull off the upset and who would have thought Eli would be the Manning in the Super Bowl?  I did go to the YMCA for some weights and soccer drills.  I finished matching text and pictures for the kid story I am working on.  It looks semi-promising.  There was bran muffins on the dining car Sunday morning, but I am not sure what will be there Monday.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

HI GIZ,

Cold here today don't think it got past 18?

Ran trains tonight in basement while watching FUDGE PACKERS LOOSE.  DA!  FARVE STUNK, looked cold and probably did not want to be there?  Just like when he was in Chicago second to the last game and was complaining about the cold.  Time for him to retire and go back to Louisiana and get warm.

GRAYSON if it is a Legacy SD 40 it has oscilating ditch lights.  I have the NS, don't tell CHIEF,  and at slow speeds they do oscilate.

JOHN, I have to sign that certificate for you to be official.  Reason?  I came up with the name of OTTS, Charter Member,  so you better be good?  BIG CONGA!!!!!

   B good,

COLD 11going to 0. no snow.

EVENING ALL, train show was excellent. got my Wms.GP38 DT&I, and took it to one of the local Module layouts and let them run it for awhile while I meanderer. Some sellers had very good prices  and of course the ones that overprice were there too. I saw some real nice Am. Flyer today much more than usual so some of these sellers must have come here from a distance. Also bought three small metal marx cars for $5.00, don't run them but I like to shelf them. He ask for an offer on all he had but there was too much plastic stuff, I like the metal ones.

Dennis, I travel the following Monday night.  Will try to call after work on Tuesday, will probably be about 6 PM???  Working 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with I guess an hour for lunch?

Went and saw Cloverfield. I liked it a lot, it was really scary and except for the usual giant monster on spindly legs physics problem, everything seemed really real including the effects on the buildings and stuff during the rampage. There is a lot of information on the internet with the back story of who and why and stuff and none of that is in the movie BTW.

I picked up some groceries and the Feb issue of Trains - looks interesting. Dropped the van off for a service tomorrow and to get a lift arm on the hatch back and a window switch fixed - should all be under warranty. Went to Culvers for dinner - yummy!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Yea, I looked at a video of it on YouTube and it didnt have any ditch lights either. Will TAS Studio ditchlights work with Legacy? I'll email them.

Marty, I'm passing through Phoenix Thursday evening [from RDU] and then to Spokane.  Reverse Monday AM but this time I go through Reagan and then RDU.  Don't guess we will be passing through the same airports. ????  Hoping for Big Seats.

GOOD TASTE IN BEER!!!

Granted, I average less than .5 beers a month, but I do treat myself once in a loooong while. Bottled water is about as naughty as I usually get.

I think Laz's three favorite words should be "Lionmaster BigBoy Sold" to GregM of course.  LOL

MartyE,  My basement was just too cold in the winter and too humid in the summer.  My dream is to have a separate building with a woodshop on the first floor and train room on the second floor.  With heating and A/C.  Yeah, right, maybe once I win the lottery.  Are you actually moving or is that just a wish too?

Saw the Isaly's building on SPF.  Karen worked at the Isaly's store in Steubenville, Oh when we met.  She worked there until we got married.

Holding at 32 degrees.  Got the room cleaned out.  Lots of empty boxes.  Somethings, in the trash.  Some shipping away.  Found things I forgot I had.  All stored and labeled.  Now time to run trains.

Morn -- uh, good day all from a brisk Crystal Lake where it is 2 degrees and allegedly 26 below with the breeze... Just got home. Long day so far serving as video director at church (church isn't cancelled until it's 20 below or 20 inches of snow Wink [;)]) and then driving to pick up the daughter amidst 640 of her teenage pals when she was returning from a camp weekend - finding her gear was amusing. After checking in on my class, I can watch the ball game and read the paper. I like Laz' three / two / one best words in the English language.

Afternoon Y'all!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and getting ready for a blessed week ahead.  Got called in for yet another emergency case.  So far, this has been the longest call week in memory as so many emergent cases.  Must be that Yankee weather or something.  Well, it could always be worse....hey, I could be stuck in Ohio or somethingWhistling [:-^].

Laz, thanks for the post on the FEF.  I like the story about the real engine and when it came to the rescue of a broke-down diesle....kind of steam's justice.

Rich, you may want to look around for a 6419 work caboose as most times I have seen a 6460 crane, it has one with it.  Those are some nice engines/rolling stock your dad has.  They should be up and running with minimal TLC.

Chief, I got called out of Sunday School just after getting my drink and food (one of the great things about being Baptist!).  While we have great services, I also really look forward to SS.  Wife ended up bringing the kids to the restaurant we always go to after SS.  Waiter wanted to know where I was.  Bride did pick up lunch for me, but looks like it will be awhile before I get home to have it.  If I am not still here tonight, I have lighting for evening services.

Don, I remember a episode of Late Night with David Letterman.  Johnnie Carson was on the phone with Dave and when Dave asked how he was doing with all the Fires?, Johnnie in his usual wit said "Fine, the mud slides are putting them out!".  My few experiences in California for meetings were usually tempered by some of your nature.   When I took the first part of my boards, we had a earthquake that morning...made for some interesting thoughts while my career was on the spot.  When I was at another meeting, smoke was thick in the air.  And yet another meeting was when the shuttle blew up.  I better stay away for awhile.

Jim, we will be leaving for Orlando on Thursday.  Give me a call at the hotel when you arrive and perhaps we can work out a train store voyage!

Dennis

Mornin All !

Long while with no visits. At last weekends train show I carried the grandson to much and the arthritis in my shoulders had me down for the count til wednesday. Just in time to unpack the stuff I took to the museum the previous friday and pack different stuff for last friday. I like the TPC operations although I haven't really tried to run PS-2 with it yet, according to the manual you can get most of the functions to operate.
