Morning to All.

Made a fresh pot. We have a few bagels and cream cheese if anyone is interested, cheddar cheese bagels from Wegman's.  Really a great tasting bagel.

Another long day in store.  More interviews.  This 7:30 AM until 6:00 PM business gets old.  Thank goodness no interviews tomorrow , Friday, or Monday.  By the time I get done interviewing, my brain will be mush.... (I know a few of you are thinking... What makes that different than any other time? Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg])

Well, I need to run off to work again.

Take care,

Mitch

Reclinerized too long.  Jim, if you land on your SOUTH side, you will be fine.  If you land on your Nawth side, you are in bad shape.  South is always fine. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Marty, you looking goos.  Got so many remotes, got to build something to hold them so they are not on the layout.

Later. Zzz [zzz]

Been a long while since I have been here last. Missed out on alot of train stuff in the last few months. Been busy working on starting a business of my own and recently bought a home that sits on 2 acres. Should be more than enough space to setup a nice large layout in the forthcoming future.

Finally read that the Legacy has arrived....maybe awhile until I can get one to test and try out. Pretty much all my train running and such have been on indefinite hold until I can get something setup to where I can run them again, even if its a simple temp layout.

I take it things have been pretty much the same round these parts. :)

Evening all!

Get ready for a chilly weekend here in the east.  I see 6' drifts for Roseyville in the forecast.

Was busy putting up shelving last weekend.  I can now house most of my Standard Gauge trains and conventional engines on it.  Still have to take the Christmas layout off the dining room table.  Guess I should store it away before things become a struggle for power here.  Wifey says "trains taking over 3 rooms in the house is just too much!"  I've gotta agree.

Legacy, Legacy....oh where is my Legacy!   Still waiting patiently....14 months.  Any tid bits of info you lucky giz wooz gots Legacy could share sure would be appreciated.

Evening Folks,

Not much to report. Still very cold and nasty weather is predicted for Thursday into Saturday. Snow sleet, freezing rain.  I love winter.... Dead [xx(]  We do have a long weekend due to MLK Holiday.  Will enjoy a day off.

Jim, be careful up there.

Marty, your power system looks great.  I am getting ideas for setting mine up.  I am at the point to start powering up tracks and want to do a good plan for the transformer holding area.

Had another emergency case....it does get old.  I guess it is days like this that gets one really excited about the meeting in Orlando.  Warm weather and the only work will entail keeping track of the rest of the family.  Anyway, I love what I do, but I miss the family when I stay away from the house all day and night till they are all asleep.  Makes one cherrish the days when I spend time with the kids.

Have a good night.

Well guys I have been in the train room with Legacy now for about a week.  Few things I would like to see changed but overall what a pretty cool system.

Chief must of hexed my CSX SD80 as the smoke unit failed with a pretty good wiff of non fluid induced smoke.  I took it to Iron Horse here in Pitt.  I probably should of opened it myself but I figured it would need parts so I let those guys do it.  They do good work and I like visiting the store.  The shelves are still a little empty from Christmas but the folks are nice so even if I leave with nothing it's worth the trip.

Weather got cold here, the kids teachers have a tenative agreement so a strike isn't likely so thats a good thing.  BTW I did some more work on my new transformer stand.  Added a manual shelf and an extension so Legacy sits upright...

John B, glad you are getting some train time at last.

Jason, hope you are feeling better soon, too.

88 - congrats and hope those numbers roll for you dude.

Chief, that sounds like a seriously cool layout, and big too?!

Doug Murphy, can you paint the inside of the building to mask the light?  Better watch out, Chuck might get his Blueberry hill done first Laugh [(-D]

Have a good trip, Roy.

Mike, what kind of book are you working on?

If you were working on the north side and landed on YOUR south side, what might happen tomorrow? I'd say you had better put on your old football helmet!  - crunch!

Evening all

CSXect- Way to go!!!!

JMKK- Chicken Soup!!!!

John B- When I hear of the fuel prices you al have it brings into perspective our lifestyle will need to change.  Mass transit, smaller cars consolidated trips and other things that at one time we did not need to think about.

A neighbor stopped by and helped me by lifting the sheet metal up on the garage roof.  I got the north side done.  It was dicey work.  Ice was on the purlins and needed to be scraped  off.  I was screwing down the last panel as the sun had gone over the hill and the panels got real slick.  You guessed it, slid off the roof like a sack of grits.Dunce [D)]  Gravity still works as does inertia.  Praise to God all I did was got banged up and my hip is a little sore but nothing broken.Angel [angel]  I dread getting up in the morning.  That is when it will hurt.  Dead [xx(]Memories of football days long ago.Black Eye [B)]  Pass the ibuprofen.  South side will be in the sun and tomorrow is to be sunny.Cool [8D]

May God bless

Jim

Chief, thanks for the reply in the email. I will try to get around calling you sometime.

And about your friends Legacy.... Hopefully we wont have those kind of problems. After all, what can you expect from a brand new system? Of course their are going to be some kinks in it! Wink [;)] Laugh [(-D] Wonder when Lionel will introduce Version 1.2?

Howdy..... Had a nice relaxing day today. Worked on the design of the mountain , which is next to the town of " Blueberry ". I think it will be snow covered. With an elevated tunnel on the upper level. Now I need a ski slope for the skiers.

Had a little more snow today. Cold. The sun is suppose to shine tomorrow.

Get well buddy.  Flu is no fun.

Back from Mom's.  Went to buddy's layout.  He has a business of furnishing restoring parts for old vehicles [mainly Chevies].  His upstairs to his warehouse is a massive layout.  I know he has over 100 engines.  DCS, TMCC and now Legacy.  Next trip, I'll take camera.  Turning real cold.  Might have some mixed presip Thursday AM.  Think I'll run trains until Comanche Moon comes on at 9.

Doug,

We are paying the equivelant of $9.00 a gallon for gas and most of our train fares are up 6 to 12% and food has almost doubled in price in the last year. My pension is going up 3%, so all is joy over this side of the pond.

Chas Ro delivered yesterday got the extra track on to the living room floor, great fun I have now done some shunting/switching, brings    much greater pleasure, been playing all afternoon.Toy Train Only down side is it has brought on the dreaded screws, I am now resting, might have to forego my daily Robinsons-but there again!Chugger

Morning all,

Making the transition from night to days so slept in a little.  Cold and snowy in Southern Ohio.  Going to do some outdoor work.  It is beautiful outside.Cool [8D]

CSXect and Mitch – Iv’e got an 04 Honda Civic I drive regularly and a 52 round trip commute to work.  Summer mileage is 42+ mpg, winter 38+ mpg.  I have noting but regular maintenance to the car.  Very reliable.  Great resale value, which means used is almost as expensive as new, especially considering financing differences.  Mine is a four door and it is OK for adults in the front and kids in the back.  I’m 6’2” and am comfortable.  Bride prefers the ride in her 03 Avalon.Whistling [:-^]

Roy- Glad you are feeling better.  Wish I was in Texas to see that S layout!

Brent-Good luck with the interview.  If I may suggest, have any "numbers you work out" put in writing, even a hand written note by the VP to remind the HR folks what the VP says.Wink [;)]

Spanky-Can’t wait to see pictures of the S on your layout.  Wish you were closer and I'd love to help in what little free time I have.

I went ahead and got all of the reading assignments and one book review done for one class.  One of the books for the other class is in the mail, so I will be catching up when it does come in.

May God Bless

' Morning from a very cold Chicago where it is 19 but feels like 8 - a day when you can feel the cold through the bottom of your shoes. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] Ran the trains a bit last evening instead of watching TV. Placed the barber shop building I got on sale over the weekend back in town at the far end of the layout. I randomly light buildings in town - though don't like this one lit - the entire ceramic shell glows. I'll adjust it after unpacking the newspaper building - probably with my youngest tomorrow eve. Got class tonight. Hope the car isn't too frozen in the Metra lot at 10 pm.

Brent, good luck with the job.

Roy needs a hot dog with horseradish and saurkraut too in NYC. That'll cure him right up.

Mike C, that perspective sure is interesting; I find it amazing how much local information about the war and its impact is in our local library.

Hail to the Chief and John for their donations!

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

where the temp is 28 deg with SNOW!

I wanted to take a minute and thank both Chief and Jefelctric for the great donations they have made to our Museum.

The Lionel Electric set that I posted on has also been donated to our musuem. This also is a great find for us.

We also have recived an outstanding S gauge layout, but of cousre we have to move it and marry it into our layout. Now all we need is more S gauge engines and rolling stock.
