Hello Doug:

It is well worth the trip.  While there are layouts of all scales (including a nice G scale and a cool Lego layout), there is a big O representation.  The organizers do a good job with the event.  On a Saturday morning, I can't imagine it would take you more than an hour to make the drive.

Regards,

John

Bridges of Toko Ri was on TCM this afternoon.  To let you in on a little JohnandJulie13 family history, my Father was in the Navy during the Korean War.  He has a lot of pictures from his time in the Navy.  Unfortunately, this caused me to have some trouble with geography in school.  My teacher could not understand why I thought Korea was in the mediterranean.  I would respond that my Father has shown me pictures of Rome, Athens, Morrocco, Nice, Crete, etc.  So, of course, Korea MUST be nearby...Tongue [:P]  Only when I got older, did I learn that, while in the Navy, my Father was fortunate enough to be on the other side of the world "defending democracy." Wink [;)]

Not any Cracker Barrels in our area.  However, when we are on the road, we like their pancakes and bacon for breakfast.  Dinner [dinner]

I was moving around today!!!  My back continues to improve.  It now feels like I have a pulled hamstring and a sprained ankle.  Hopefully, each day will get a little better.  Celebrex gets my vote for wonder drug of the year.

I actually ventured out to try to get a serial adapter for my laptop so that I could upgrade DCS.  MicroCenter said they have four...but they are still packed away with the current shipment that arrived this morning.  Angry [:(!]  Hopefully, I will have better luck tomorrow.

Evenin' boys.  Evenin' English (if any of you chaps are lurking).  What a gorgeous day here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Worked a St Patty's Day parade this morning, then we went horseback riding out in the country.  Ended with dinner at the Cracker Barrel.

You have a great trip, Wes - I loved Orlando a month ago.  Dougsnotagrump, sorry I was zoned out - sorry about your train, glad it was okay!  Good afternoon to all, worked this morning and seems like I've just been home a minute, but it has already been an hour.  Friends are coming over for dinner.  Have a couple calls to make and just taking it easy on the recliner - no trains today.  TTYL

Morning all. Hope everyone is safe and well - looks like a good day is expected for many of you. I'm bummed I forgot about the High Railer show this weekend - it is all scales and usually a nice time - some layouts and vendors - but I don't think I can get over to Palatine in time. There's also an O 'scale' show in Arlington Heights.  Supposed to be colder with maybe sleet later, but it's sunny now - boy, seeing the sun sure makes a difference. Going to get my '15 minutes' on the layout later.

Hello Doug:

I was hoping to go to the O scale show as well.  Unfortunately, my back is not cooperating.  We still have the All American Train Show at the end of the month in LaGrange.  Are you planning on making the drive down?

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 39 degrees. Going up to 50 today, with cloudy skies.

Today is busy. It will settle down later, when the wife goes shopping with her Niece. I have a few things to do around here and then I can relax.

Buckeye...Is sleeping late today ?

Dining car has been here and I had the usual breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Redbugs and Ticks?   Mosquitos are the worst that I am used to dealing with during the hazy summer months.  I would have a hard time adjusting to those conditions. Dead [xx(]

I got close to eight hours of sleep last night.  Mentally, I feel much better.  My leg on the other hand, continues to progress slowly.  I was hopeful that I would be able to join the Mrs. and little John for the Easter Egg Hunt this morning, but it looks like I will be staying home.  Sad [:(]

If nothing else, today I hope to get either an old laptop or a serial adapter so that I can try the DCS upgrade.

Regards,

John

Good Morning from damp Southern Ohio

Looks like a good day to stay inside and work on trains but I am at work that pays the bills today.

Finished re-assembling the layout from the temp mod for the trainarama last night.  Going to do some cleaning while the layout is pulled out from the wall.  I'll post some pics of the layout with the trainaram tomorrow.

Got to go, check back later

May God bless

Jim

Glad the day went a whole lot better than it started out. Went to start cleanining track on lower level, bridge was up. Oooppps, fortunately only one engine took a tumble, the second just kinda hi-centered on the fuel tanks with one set of trucks hanging over the precipice the other just hi enuff to not get traction but the p/u's did. So here's an engine lookin' kinda like a teeter totter with its wheels spinning. Black Eye [B)] Blush [:I] Thanks goodness the one to hit the floor was a Williams, dust it off and check for damage. Later All !

Oh, we are supposed to get some really nasty bad weather starting tomorrow afternnon. Where is Mr Gore, they are talking possibly blizzard warnings for our local San Diego mountains. Go figure !!!!!!!!!!!

Evening all,

Brent, I was going to suggest that you ask Roy for some lighting advice since he is an EE.  However I understand he will be busy for the next couple of days. so you better not. Smile [:)]

Good health to all those having problems.

We had a beautiful spring like day today.  The bad news is some not so good weather is on the way.  Can't complain as this has been our mildest winter in a few.

Chief, My largest tomatoes are about the same size as yours, but you will be able to plant yours in the garden long before I can.

That is about all I can remember from the 3 pages since my last post.

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm glad to see that the Chief is back. It was such a stressful week, one that I really didn't need at all. So for today and the rest of the weekend, I'm just going to relax. Speaking of relaxing, the Formula 1 season starts tomorrow night at 11PM. I am staying up to watch it, and it's live from Australia. I'm rooting for Ferrari.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

Colin,
My parents are leaving Melbourne tomorrow morning for New Zealand, just before the race starts... My mother said traffic has been insane there the last few days. GO BMW!!! Wink [;)]

I am glad to see there is another F1 fans on the boards.  I will also be watching, but my rooting interests lie with BMW.

John

Even with the love for BMW, you're still a good guy, John. And it's even better that you love the PRR. I've always had this love for Ferrari, and I hope that they will do well, especially since the loss of Schumi.
