Mornin' Fellas.

Chief - Glad to see you are still around (at least snooping) Wink [;)]

Jack - This light thing has been driving me nuts. She wanted recessed lights in the ceiling (can't install there because the sink is in an alcove out the back of the house and the 'roof' is too shallow so not enough height. So then she wanted a light with an extension cord with a rotary switch... when I pointed out this would be above the SINK and she wanted this so she could see when WASHING DISHES... you get the picture. Then she called her brother and he said he would have to ruin the grape vine border around the ceiling to install a light... no go... so then she wanted a shelf about the window with a light in it (another TV show she watched)... I told her she would lose her curtain... no go... so then I found a light a Lowes but I have to open the wall to hide the wire and that is going to take some time... she disappears for a few minutes, comes back into the kitchen and puts a can of paint on the island and says, 'get started'... Shock [:O]Banged Head [banghead] So when I get home tonight I'm to help her clean the house, install the new light, and vacuum and dust the basement/trainroom... I get home at 4:15 and my sister and her family are going to be at our house around 8:30 or so... and I have to cook dinner... Confused [%-)] Anyone remember the schedule she came up with for our moving weekend? I learned then not to ask when the 'contingency plan' was... as I was told 'You work faster'.

Good morning all,

It is rainy in SE Indiana with temps in the 40s.  I talked to all of Lucas' teachers last night at the high school.  One trouble spot is math....again.  Hopefully, just one more set of nine weeks to go.  I am tired of being a parent.  I did go to the YMCA for a 30 minute walk as we ate too late for me to do any serious running.  Watched "Lost".  Each episode gets more strange.  I had a little extra on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Jack - I didn't see where you played the "Safety" card.  Where you need to run that extra wire in the cupboards for safety.  It always works around here.

Ran trains for awhile tonight, no problems, lots of switching.  Was fun!!  Terrible weekend planned have to work 3 shows, and then next week 2 presentations.  Going to be busy!

Waited too long to post, tired, can't remember half the stuff wanted to mention.

But most important, hope everyone gets to feeling better real soon.  Enjoy the great weather.

I've been told my fascial expression varies from the sincere to one that I can't post here on this board...

Kind of like tonight when Susan asked if I was going to install the light above the kitchen sink tonight... I said, 'No, it is too late', 'Then you have to do it when you get home tomorrow', 'Yes dear.', 'No I am serious. I don't want that thing laying around the house for the next 6 months.', 'I said Yes dear.', 'I know you did, but you had that inappropriate look on your face again.' Confused [%-)]Whistling [:-^]

Forgot to mention... dinner tonight was at Five Guys' Burgers and Fries! Dinner [dinner]

Never let Wifey pick out a lighting fixture without you present or let her watch you install.  Wifey comes home from Ikea with under the kitchen cabinet lighting fixtures: two 3 light sets, strung together with enough wire to run to the neighbors' house. Triple the installation mounts.

OK, I think, a bit more installation effort versus simple light bars, but it's what she wants.  Plan: Run to hardware store for a few items. Shorten wires, install new connectors, drill a couple of holes to run/ hide all wiring in kitchen cabinets.  No problema, or so I thought.

She came into the kitchen and asked why all the dishes were on the table, and I reminded her she didn't want any wires showing, so I was going to run them in the cabinet. Then she said she didn't want any wires in her cabinets either.  Battery operated lights?  She didn't want battery operated lights.  She wanted the transformer to be hidden, not under the cabinets nor in them.  She also wanted me to alter the wiring to move the on/off switches from one end of the fixture string to the other.

I told her all of her specifications were possible when either Edison invents invisible wire or electricity that did not require wire to get from point A to point B.

It all went downhill from there.

Prayers for you guys and now for Kelly, too!  I've had pneumonia and it is no fun, so make her take it easy and keep on the meds until they are all gone Doug!

I'm fine - pills are working and staying off my feet (as much as possible).  Pain = 0 on a scale of 10, so Jimmy is fine.  Thanks for the kind thoughts and words, though!  Signed up for OT this Saturday (6 hours) which should pay off my train debt to the family budget, at least so far this year.  Stopped and got some White Castles for dinner, yummy.

When does TCA membership renewal come around?  I would have thought I would have gotten a bill and renewal thingy in the mail about now?

Jack... you're learning... its Susieq when we are dealing with the layout and she's being 'cool' its Susan when she is playing the roll of the unforgiving, unrelenting, slave driver. I keep telling her that if she wants something done right away she has to provide a deadline... and it has to be agreed upon with the contracting company BEFORE the project begins. She asked, 'who is the contracting company', when I responded 'me', she responded, 'I will now refrain from kicking your behind.'  Now if you are familiar with the cartoon Dilbert, Susan is Alice - I'm Wally (with more hair and without B.C. glasses).

John, I've been having back problems on and off since I hurt it playing baseball, infield backhand stab at a line drive.  Caught the ball, couldn't throw it back to the pitcher.  I'd agree with you about the pain killers, though lack of sleep makes John one cranky boy.  More important, less mentally acute to fend off wife's barbs about (pick a topic), or sensing when she's saying this but meaning that.  Dangerous stuff.

Brutus, staying off a leg for few weeks ain't easy.  Look at the bright side.  Imagine if this flareup and doctor's orders had happened before all the recent snow activity and you had to delegate the shovelling. "Honey, could you please go back out and shovel the drive again?  I know it's 11:30pm and you've been out twice already, but it's easier to keep up with it than to wait until we're buried.  Oh, and clean off the cars while you're at it.  I'm going to grab a beer and wait up for you down in the train room."  RIP Brutus.

Lee, keep at it buddy.  We want those larger pics.

Brent, so now it's "Susan."  Sounds ominous.  Remember to duck.

Greg, great advice and ideas here on the forum.  You'll get less emotional and more rational ideas from arms length folks here.  I have a few family members.....but I digress.  I admire your thinking about reducing overhead and backfilling income, tough choices better addressed now than later.  I think I'd donate a kidney rather than surrender my trains, though.

John

Sure hope the pain maintains a low threashold, just don't overdo it with the lessening.  Might be a good time to catch up on some of those train videos.  I have been getting some from NetFlix, as it turns out they have quite a few.  Only problem is I usually fall asleep before I get 15 minutes into them.  Not boring, just too relaxing.

Obviously your under good care (son), just don't get over anxious.

Hoping for a speedy recovery!!!

Good Morning All:

A tough night of sleep for me, but I am operating without any pain killers.  I have been able to move between the master bedroom and the guest bedroom.  With this pace, in about 10 years, I should be able to get outside.
