Afternoon all. Back from a "Blue Ribbon Committee" meeting. Nothing blue about a long dull meeting. Did get big breakfast with cheese GRITS. Now for lunch. I have figured out the Mayor's job. Go eat free meals all the time. Get fat like Boss Hog. Cold and damp so staying in and do some trains. Grandson coming for a few days. Chat later. God bless. BTW: hope all the sick get better. Shake and Bake was not feeling good last night. Hope he is not sick too.

Windy and around 77, should be in mid to high 80's today, maybe global warming is playing a part but it is a little warmer this winter. May get some rain this weekend.
Going to train show in Stuart FL on the 22 of March, saturday, going to other train show on April 5th in Deerfield Beach FL, above Ft. Lauderdale.
Usually don't see the local police unless they are running a speed trap on the main roads nearby, use motorcycle cops also, PBSO a.k.a. Palm Beach Sheriff's Office. FL State police are mainly highway patrol, turnpike or I-95.

Good morning all from a very rainy Dallas. 70's now and dropping to 50 this afternoon due to global warming.
Doug and Fife - being "that" house is a good thing - your neighbors don't bother you as much . It also improves neighborhood security when the police cars come by often. It is also good to be on a first name basis with your local officers.
Got back from our San Antonio visit last night. Had a great time. Ate too much (of course).
Daughter flies home tonight from her NYC visit. But with all the rain and storms here - I suspect flights will be in chaos here - ugh.

Very cloudy up to 75 today as we watch the Naval Air Show to escort our Presidente` to our "sunny" shores. Have already seen 4 FA-18's fly over head. Air Force 1 is due here at 11AM.
Not much else happening. Dad couldn't see the video, his connection is too slow, so he's gonna run over to my sister's house to see it.

Brent I think I might know why Suzy-q was sleeping so hard last night. She has a business on the side she hasn't told you I have a pic to prove it. She must travel (fly I would guess) down here every so often to make sure things are going fine.
Thought you would like to see that it probally wouldn't be hard to build. I always think of you and your layout when I go by there on my way to work took pics yesterday and then you tale of her sleeping right through your talk with chief made it easy to make a cute story.

Well the snow and sleet missed us,thank you,but it is dark with rain forecast. I lost the internet last night, gave up and went to bed. So much for "Put it on cable dad and it won't disconnect anymore". My wife still not feeling well,came home from sending the kids to school and went to bed. She said told daughter this is the last year of doing this. I will wait and see when the new school year starts. Ahh spring is near,,,,S.J.

Good morning all,
One word for weather in SE Indiana today: RAIN. Good picture of green river, Doug. They do the same with the canal in Indy. A belated happy birthday, Brent. I drove the Cruiser into work today for the first time since the wreck. I took it kind of easy to make sure none of the parts fell off! I had some errands to do, but I did make it out to the YMCA for a 20 minute run. We also watched "Deal or No Deal" last night. I had bran muffins on the dining car this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.

A belated happy St Patty's Day to all of you. Not much happening here, eexcept for three late nights in a row. Things are buzzin' right along with the school. Interior doors and counter tops are being installed. Terrazzo is going to be finished this week. Almost all of the marker boards (chalkboards of the 2st century) and tack boards are being installed.

I have been following your updates for a while now with some interest. However, I wasn't able to find the start of your posts. What kind of school is this? What is your involvement? Has there been some delays? It appears as if the project will be done in the next several weeks, an odd time for a school completion.

It is going to be a busy week. Wednesday evening I'm taking a few hours off to go to the Cathedral in Columbus for the Chrism Mass. That is the Mass where the Holy Oils are blessed by the Bishop for all the parishes in the diosces. It is a big deal. From there I'll head into work.
I got a plasticville Frosty Bar with a chrome counter in the mail off ebay. Pretty nice condition. It has a bigger footprint than I anticipated, so I may need to rethink where I put it on the layout if I do at all.
Need to get to work

Years ago that was no joke.
The Chicago River (pictured) used to flow East (toward the viewers' right) from the point pictured directly into Lake Michigan. I believe that's the Tribune Tower and the Wrigley Building on Michigan Avenue in the backgtound.
Pre War, not all sewage made it to a filtration plant for defouling. Add in chemical dumping. The River continually fouled the beaches and the water intakes at the brick cribs three miles offshore for drinking water. Hence, the locks were built a couple hundred yards East of the photo, and the flow of the river was reversed toward the Mississippi. In short, we took all the foul river water and sent it off to Brutus.
I lived about 8 miles North and West of the photo, about 75 yards from the North Branch of the Chicago River. And it stank year round.

we have some nasty looking weather coming this way,the whole works sleet,snow,sleet, rain tomorrow. After my doc. visit today I really didn't do much just kind of lazed. did run a train for awhile though. Wife sounds slightly better,moved around a little more today so its just a wait till it goes away thing now. I'll drop back in a bit.....S.J.

I ordered a passenger station "kit" that looks like a fun project. I hope it comes by the end of the week, since I have 4 days off and can't really do anything. Glad to hear we are all doing a little better today than yesterday and prayers for all in need. TTYL
