Good morning, everyone.  It is a beautiful day.  Should be a high of 70 or so.  I think that summer is officially here.  Captain [4:-)]

...Overnight snow showers as we have a skiff of it on the ground this morning but the sun is shining bright now.  31.1 temp right now.  To be a warmer week as it unfolds.  Winter is retreating.

Good Saturday morning to all!  Nice cool 32 degrees here this morning.  Seemed pretty darn chilly when I got the morning paper off the front porch.  Supposed to have flurries and/or snow showers, later this afternoon.

Coffee is brewing, juice is made (oj and orange tangerine), and have plenty of hot water for tea and cocoa.

On the warmer bar, you'll find:  turkey bacon, sausage, grits, scrambled eggs, western omelletes, hash browns, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, blueberry and bran muffins, pancakes & maple syrup.

Everyone have a great day, and take care, whatever you have to do and wherever you have to go today.

Speaking of semis....

Had an interesting surprise when we came to work this past Monday.  Snow that had blown off the roof of the plant piled up on a trailer deep enough to cave the roof in.  Was pretty interesting unloading the rest of the trailer.....

Good cookies, Joe......

Those are good cookies!  I hope and pray that your mother will be ok.  I was driving home from work and found a nice surprise!  The photo order should be 2, 5, 4, 1, 3.  Lol I guess that's what I get for doing this at 1 AM!

The sun came out this afternoon, but after dark the clouds returned and dropped some snow on us.  Sheesh.

....Sounds like so many areas are experiencing bad weather from this large system working across the US...We lucked out on this one with total sunshine all day but with some pretty strong winds.

Big moon shining tonight.  Temps in the upper 30's this evening.

Best of our wishes for those in all the bad stuff.

It's cookin', CW, it's cookin',!!  One load is just about ready to come out of the fryers.

Interesting article in the paper the other day, attempting to trace the history of the Wisconsin Friday Fish Fry.  Was part Indian custom, and part came from the Brits, they figure it started about in the 1600s around here.

Spokyone, I'll take the "Extra Lead in the Behind"; I had to go to the store, and one "Gust" nearly got me!!

(I am a bit light in that dept.!!; all over actually!)

Our winds today have been out of the W-SW at around 25-35mph, with gusts

to around 40+ !

Not sure about that, but with the extra weight in the Large Purse that she usually

carried around that time, if she hit anybody with it, it was guaranteed to give

whomever a "Spiking Headache"!! Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

Reminds me of that episode of Dukes of Hazzard with the sheriff that carried the spike and tore apart moonshiners cars with it!!

Anyway, not too bad of a day here, other than the wind blowing at 30mph or so.  Wasn't too bad driving home from work last night, roads were drifted over in spots, but not too slippery considering the rain we had earlier in the day.  Sounds like everyone to the west and north of here got about what we had last weekend.  Brian, had you beat on the barometer, coming home last night the 2am observations were at 28.87 inches and falling, that is the lowest pressure I can remember in my 27 years alive.

I'll offer to help with the fish fry dinner tonight, we'll have all the usual varieties of fish, both baked and fried in canola oil, along with fries, chips, coleslaw, and tartar sauce.  Oil is heating up right now, should be ready to start batch #1 in a few minutes.

Dan, by my reckoning, we've got at least 11 to 12 inches of snow out of this most recent storm. I shoveled out a good portion of my sidewalk and it was roughly a foot deep. There are snow drifts up and down my street that are as much as two and three feet deep. I just talked with my sister Ginger, she and her husband Thomas recently moved back to Sioux Falls from Cape May, New Jersey, and this is their first experience with a snow storm in this part of the country. When my sister answered the the phone, I said to her, "Welcome to your first South Dakota blizzard!"Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

I wish I was that lucky.  Hopefully you stay warm today Ray.  How much are you supposed to get?  We were forecast for 6"-10" but we'll be lucky to see 2"-5" over the layer of ice, lol.

I talked with one of my supervisors at Wendy's a few minutes ago and she told me to stay home, only the drive-up window would be open today. There is still quite a bit of blowing snow in this area and the wind is supposed to finally die down tomorrow afternoon. Being that I don't have to be at work today, I think I will finish a jig saw puzzle I've been working on, and catch up on reading the last few back issues of Trains.
