Well, looks like the weather in Nebraska has kept Mookie home today.  We'll all just have to carry on as best we can today, without her here.Sad [:(]

Since we seem to be so slow, I've only made sandwiches and fries for lunch.  The sandwiches are:  PB&J, bologna & cheese, ham & cheese, roast beef sandwiches, and tuna salad sandwiches.

Looks like quite a few areas will have to batten down the hatches this afternoon/tonight.  Even us in KY.  At least so far, about the entire western half of the state, and Louisville is on the perimeter.  So we'll have to be watching carefully, also.

Everyone stay safe!!

Hi
I will just grab a bite from the warmer bar. We had a big thunderstorm overnight. (Rain is easier to shovel) If wind will die down, I'll clean off the branches and twigs from the roof. My Chinese Elm tree is wonderful shade, but sheds like an old cat. No offence.

We're under a winter weather warning tonight - snow followed by rain.  Might get a three day weekend out of this yet....  And it's so nice out right now.

*walks casually in*

I am doing alright now, I slept most of the cold away yesterday, and the day before. Now it’s just leftover phlegm, and junk waiting to exit. (sorry to ruin anyone’s appetite) So yeah I am doing much better, more coherent, and more …here…LOL

I think I will have me some orange juice, and some hash browns. No eggs…Call me strange but I never liked eggs.

Pregnancy and colds do not mix. All I could take was Robitussin, and that stuff doesn’t get the job done as well as I remember Nyquil to do. It’s more on the watery side too, so it doesn’t stay around long enough *curses out the druggies that use the stuff to cook methamphetamine*
The vitamin C and zinc didn't help at all either. The C make me very nauseous, do I avoided that at all costs. The Zinc helped a little though.

So yeah, I am still alive and well.

You guys get all the snow this weekend, all we get is rain….whoop de doo.. LOL

Blizzard warning was just issued for Omaha. 8 to 10 inches on the ground already, with storm totals expected to reach over a foot in some spots. What an incredible storm system!

Good morning folks. It kind of looks like we are under a severe weather/blizzard advisory for today and tomorrow. The winds are supposed to be blowing at about 40 mph by about the middle of this afternoon here. All the schools in this area are closed. I will brave the elements and head for my part time job at Wendy's later this morning, unless my supervisors should call me and tell me to stay home, which I would not mind doing, but I would rather be working. I just now looked out my front door and the conditions are not all that bad yet, so I should be able to make it to work.

Everyone stay warm & stay safe.

Currently, it is snowing at 2 inches an hour and there is thunder and lightning. Visibility is almost is zero with winds gusting over 30 mph.

All of the major school districts have cancelled school which is really too bad because I had today off anyway. I'm really being cheated out of a snowday, but I guess I won't complain too much.

Good Thursday morning to all.  Hmmm, looks like we had a very slow night in here last night.  I'm glad someone put the food away, and cleaned up, though.  Thank you, to whomever did that!

Coffee, juice, hot tea and hot chocolate are ready and waitin'.  And on the warmer bar, you will find bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hash browns and tater tots, oatmeal and toast, bagels and bear claws and apple cinnamon muffins.

Everyone have a terrific day, and take care while outside.  Right now, we're getting a light slower, but could be in for some storms, tornado watches, etc. later on today/afternoon/evening.  Looks like March is definitely coming in like a lion!!

Well, I certainly managed to get in more than my usual amount of walking today.

It snowed pretty good last night - at least up on the mountains to the east.  They say that the road up to the Mount Hamilton Observatory will be closed until next Tuesday.  Nice to finally see some snow around here this winter.  Captain [4:-)]

Mudchicken, keep us posted; maybe we can figure out something, to meet again.

Got more beef noodles and tuna melt casserole ready for supper.

Joe, got two plates ready for you, in the cooler, with your name on them, as usual.  Take whichever one you want for tonight, or go ahead and take both of them with you.

Anybody hear from Nightrain today?  Sure do hope she's doing all right.  Don't imagine it's much fun, having a bad cold, when you're pregnant.  Heck, it's no fun anytime!!

How quickly things change! We go from a rather mild looking winter weather event, to a possible blizzard in only a couple of hours. Omaha is now under a winter storm warning for 5 to 8 inches of snow. Council Bluffs, Iowa, one county east of Omaha, is under a blizzard warning for 8 to 12 inches of snow.

Now that our forecasters have got me so excited, watch it snow half an inch! Wink [;)]

We're supposed to start with freezing rain then change to a 'wintry mix' then to snow.  I'm hoping for more snow than freezing rain, personally.  If the weather holds tomorrow I might 'fly' down to Belvidere, IL to snag shots of CNW 8646 if I can find it.

Ther is snow in another Bellevue today(the one out in Washington state) and it is snowing outside right now.  It has been snowing for about an hour and a half and it has started to stick in the last half hour. There is about 1/8 of an inch on the ground right now, but if it keeps snowing at this rate I am going to have a lot of unhappy ducks at home wanting out of the snow.

Sorry I havn't been around much lately. I have been a bit overwhelmed with homework and with spring sports starting this week I don't get home till fairly late in the evening.

I'll try to stop in for lunch tommorrow.

Willy:

Snow here started 6 hours earlier and is heavier than predicted. Mr. Snowshovel will get some work tonight. Seems to be pretty heavy wet stuff. Western Colorado got quite a bit of drier snow.

Disappointed to hear Ed B was too late. Went to share with BossHen last night and saw the final sad chapter. His dogs need to teach our dogs how to tolerate cats.

There had to be a reason that we washed the truck yesterday.

ps - Looks like I'm back in Indiana on August 31 teaching  where the Monon crosses the B&O...

Interesting weather situation tonight. It looks like there will be snow. Right now I'm saying 2 to 4 inches for Omaha and Bellevue, 1 to 3 inches for Lincoln. Just 25-50 miles east of Omaha, 6 to 10 inches are certainly possible. This means that if the storm tracks just 25 miles farther west than it is forecast to, Omaha will get some big snows. This is obviously one to watch closely as small changes will make big differences.

Also, folks just about anywhere in the southeast U.S., be on the lookout tomorrow. There could be a very major outbreak of severe storms and tornadoes. Keep an eye to the sky and be safe.

Mookie - Cheer up! Just think, winter is almost over and warmer temperatures and bright sunshine aren't too far away.

Sure CW - we can talk of cabbages and kings - or tuna and sardines!  How is SP doing?  You can show me some more pictures of her!

Maybe I will dig around the crocus and see if they are going to make it up this spring.  Wonder if they taste good.....

Glad to see that everyone's slowly making their way in today!  Mookie, here's a nice warm blanket for you, just out of the dryer.  Should make you very comfortable, while you sit out in the garden.  Would you like some company?  I'll be more than glad to come out and sit with you.

The specials for lunch and supper today are:

1.  beef noodles w/salad and crescent rolls
2.  tuna cheese melt casserole w/salad and crescent rolls

Clouds are back this afternoon, w/sprinkles, but we're supposed to make a high temp in the mid 50s later this afternoon.

....Putting a pet animal down is difficult at the least but we all know when it's time and sometimes we put it off just a bit too long.  Had experience with two {long time}, pet family members, one 16 and one 17....Little miniature Doxie dogs....Difficult does not describe it.

Sun is trying to break through here today but it is cloudy but bright....and it's to reach 42.  Tomorrow, rain but up into the mid 50's.  Sure should take much of remaining snow with it.....
