Good Tuesday morning to one and all!  Jesse (big90Mack), you're killing me here!!  I happen to love both apple and cherry pie!!  How on earth is eating that going to bring down my cholesterol?!?!?!  Guess I could just eat the filling, but dang, the crust is soooo good!Big Smile [:D]Evil [}:)]

Mudchicken, don't worry.  I'm not going to let you all suffer with me.  I'll be making food that satisfy everyone.  From now on, you'll find two separate menus listed (as soon as I can get them made up!).

Coffee is ready, juice is made, and we've got hot water ready for cocoa, tea.  Also got milk heating for hot chocolate.

On the warmer bar you will find:  turkey bacon, sausage, oatmeal, western omelettes, (toast, corn flakes, raisin bran, and Cheerios are on the counter).

Everyone have a great day, and if anyone has any requests for lunch/supper, please let me know, after I get back from Produce Tuesday.

Actually, it sounds pretty good to me, too.

I hated doing overnights at the EMS squad - there were folks there who sounded off no matter what position they were sleeping in.

Down here in IL ("flatland" to you cheeseheads and yupers up there), we had about seven to nine inches Saturday night and yesterday.  It was very wet snow and stopped for a while right about lunch time so I went out and shoveled (bad idea) and then it started again with a vengence at dinner time and I needed to go do it all over again after din-din...right now it is flurrying a bit but no biggie.  Wow, I can't wait until Spring!

Willy I look forward to your forecasts!  By my estimates we got about 16" of snow in total up here over the last 3 days.  As you said before Willy we're supposed to get round two this weekend.  I'm hoping for it.

Mookie I may have to beg to differ with you (respectfully!) on the snoring issue!  I know someone (female) that, while she sleeps, on occasion sounds like a Freightliner using a Jake brake!  BTW my little cat (Chace http://www.danielgbraun.com/cgi-bin/i/images/chace_010_256x192.jpg) had his first try at the out-of-doors yesterday.  He made it about a foot out of the door, slipped on snow, and then boogied back to the warm bed!

Good Morning!

I have Thursday and Friday off from school this week and tomorrow is a late start, so I'm pretty happy.

There are two more storm systems that I'm watching. The first one will be on Wednesday. Ray, it looks like you could get some snow or freezing rain out of that one, with just light precip down here in Omaha.

The second one looks stronger and farther south and it has the potential to give Omaha and points south several inches of snow. That one really bears close watching. I'll keep everyone updated.

Joe, sounds like you've gotten good advice on pink eye, so won't add anything, except I hope you get better soon!!

For lunch today, we're having leftover meat loaf, mashed taters, etc. from yesterday.  I kind of got on a cooking binge yesterday, and mixed up several meat loafs.  Knew at least Mookie loves meat loaf, and asks for it every so often, so I wanted to make sure I had enough on hand, to have as leftovers today.  Now, to think of something for supper tonight.

Just got back from picking up my medicne.  I am now on the generic of Zocor, because my cholosterol is up to 255.  Think I'm gonna have to cut several foods from my diet, so I can help the medication get my cholosterol down.  Any suggestions from anyone? (Besides me not eating very many sweets, and gravies.  I don't imagine that helps cholosterol counts very much .)

Not a bad stab there, Ray- just a couple of letters off.  "Conjunctivitis"

It's a weird Monday here in Eastern Iowa- the roads in town are OK, and most everything else is normal as far as my wife and I are concerned, but most of the schools in the area are closed today and alot of other things are canceled due to large sections of the area still not having any power.  Kinda the same situation they had in central Nebraska back around New Year's Eve, IIRC.

Good morning, everyone.  Another beautiful day.  It is not a sunny day, but that is at least partially due to the fact that the sun is still sound asleep.

Joe, if you have pink eye, I can sympathize with you. I've had it two or three times and it is nasty stuff! Wash your hands often, avoid rubbing your eyes as much as possible, and it would be a good idea if you would change your pillow case every night when you go to bed. Above all, see your eye doctor or your primary care physician as quickly as you can, either one would prescribe eye drops which would quicly get rid of the mess in your eyes. I think the medical term for pink eye is "Cunjunctivitous" (not sure of the proper spelling).

Joe - had pink eye a couple of times.  Felt like a little kid - but it was allergy related both times and it is nothing to mess with.  Warm water compresses until you can get the eye dr to poke his finner in your eye!

I'm glad you had a good night's rest, CW. Right now in Sioux Falls we have a cloudy sky and 21 degrees. the wind here is out of the north/northwest, leaving us with a wind chill of 8 degrees.

Last week I came upon a recipe for banana nut bread from the Northern Pacific Railway, and I think I'm going to try it later this week. I'm going to have to buy some bananas and a few other ingredients first. The list of ingredients in this recipe tells me it should be pretty good, and if it is, I will share it with others in this forum. Chef [C=:-)]

Wow - some of you are up early this morning!

We will have a nose count here throughout the day.  Make sure everyone survived the wild weekend and the television programs.

Willy - we had 1.5 snow here.  Mostly slush that turned to chunks of ice overnite.  I whined loud enough that I diverted most of the snow from us.  I am happy, happy.

See Datafever is bringing flowers into the diner; Tree is back from his trip and some of our regulars are back visiting again.  Ah - all is right with the world and it is only Monday!

Good Monday morning, to one and all!  Think I'm starting to feel 'human' again, after a very good night's sleep!  Big90Mac, the coffee pot is always on here, so no matter what time anyone comes in, there's coffee available, along with other n/a beverages.

We've got a nice temp out this morning, 35 degrees.  May have a few rain sprinkles this morning, but other than that, supposed to be a pretty good day today.

On the warmer bar this morning, you will find:  turkey bacon, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, tater tots, oatmeal, toast, bear claws and bagels.

Sure do hope that everyone can make it in this morning, after the storms from the weekend.  Seems like I may hear someone coming in the door, best go check, and see who is popping in.
