Got home this afternoon before the snow hit. My experience last night indicates that the 300 handles pretty well in the snow, so I won't have to borrow Randy's truck-yet. On the other hand the Pacifica...! If we get the possible 12 inches or so the truck would be handy, but I'd just as soon stay home. (Got a Trains to read yet.)
All take care

We can revisit this along about August, when it's 78 degrees here, under clear skies, and a nice breeze off the lake, and it's 100 there - temperature and humidity....

Thundersnow here, should be another foot or so of snow on the ground by the time all is done, on top of the seven inches we got last night. No power problems yet, hope we don't have any. Winds howling like crazy, too.
I'll have some of the meat lover's, please, then back to a cozy corner.........

I've seen the OM Wienermobile a couple of times around here in years past.
Supreme plus a brownie ala mode for me, please!
Still lucking out here in that we haven't lost power (obviously). Other more rural areas around us, though, have not been so lucky. They just mentioned on the news that I-80 east of Iowa City is closed due to downed power lines.
I will have pepperoni with extra pepperoni on my pizza. Maybe with extra cheese too.
@ the Oscar Meyer weinie mobile LOL!!!. I seen it in Orange Park a couple of weeks ago, too bad I wasn't armed with a camera
Let's see. Several points this evening.
First, there are so many pizza choices this evening that I don't know where to start. A calzone wouldn't be too bad either. I think I'll just have to try a little bit of everything, including the desserts!
Joe - Did you get my email last night?
Tree - Rather interesting "behind the scenes" look at Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile. That picture is actually not too bad as it is from a different perspective.
The change from rain to snow is not too far away here in Omaha. They still say 6 to 8 inches, so we will see what morning brings.
Everyone have a good evening!
Willy
One food related sighting during my trip to VA was this:
Sorry - that's the only decent shot I got - hard to get decent pictures at interstate speeds... Note also that it was snowing at the time...
mmm pizza brownies and ice cream. all good anytime of day.
Okay everyone, it's 5:51 p.m. EST, and I've been in the kitchen all afternoon.
On the SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA FEST menu tonight:
1. Anchovie 2. Cheese 3. Canadian bacon 4. Goetta 5. Hawaiian 6. Mushroom 7. Pepperoni/sausage/mushroom 8. Pepperoni/mushroom 9. Supreme 10. Canadian bacon, hamburger, sausage
And because SactoGuy asked nicely, there are calzones tonight also.
Everyone enjoy your supper tonight, and I'm sure Ray will be in after awhile with desserts!!

I got home from work within the last half hour and it is snowing here in Sioux Falls, so I figure that Willy must have pointed his weather machine in my direction. But that's O.K. If you are going to live in a place like South Dakota you should be willing to put up with a few inches of snow now and then. Right now we have a temperature of 30 degrees and we have a winter storm warning for tonight and into early tomorrow morning. 5 to 8 inches of snow have been forecasted for this region where I live.
I'll be dropping off a couple gallons of my homemade vanilla ice cream and a pan or two of chocolate fudge brownies for tonight's dessert shortly. I know the ice cream will be gone in a flash!

I"m sure we're in for some stuff here, but I haven't looked at TWC, or even the radar. The sun is out, and it's 23 right now - for the middle of February or so, that's not bad at all.
Spokyone - Most of the utilities are like that now. Back when they were more locally owned they were much better equipped to deal with emergencies. Nowadays service is well down their list of priorities. The bottom line is much more important.
Welcome back Ray, you never really had to leave...
I think I will just have some coffee today. Nothing too exciting. I am kin of feeling like blah...
Welcome back, Ray.
It is indeed very nasty here at this point- we've been getting rain all morning, and with a temperature currently at 28.8 degrees, you can imagine what's happening to that rain when it hits the ground. Joanie and I made a run to the grocery store earlier for our weekly stock-up, and now we're hunkering down for the rest of the weekend. One of our local forecasters is bucking the trend of everyone else (most are saying 3-6" by tomorrow) and is forecasting 7 to 13" for us Regardless, they're all giving us a blizzard warning (I wish it were a Blysard warning ), and I suspect that we won't have to worry about church in the morning. Hopefully the rain will change over to snow pretty soon so we don't have to worry about losing power- the lights have been flickering a few times this morning.
Good Morning!
I hope everyone is having a great Saturay so far!
Ray - welcome back!
Last night we got a nice little thunderstorm. There was actually some pretty loud thunder and half an inch of rain, so that was a very nice treat.
The snow is still on its way here in Omaha. 5 to 8 inches are expected. One thing that I'm worried about is the fact that the NAM puts a nice dry slot over southeast Nebraska and cuts our amounts down to 3 inches. However, that model seems to be the odd one out and it has been discounted from everyone's forecasts. Who knows, they may regret that decision.
After this storm, I'll be ready for spring. I'm ready to see some greenery and warm temperatures.
Good morning, everyone. It is a beautiful sunny day. Spring has sprung and then some.
Good morning everyone (grabs big mug of hot coffee).
Now, if CW can make a calzone as part of Pizza Fest tonight, I'll take it!

was awakened by pooch at 430 am.matthew also woke up.tried to go back to sleep but couldnt until mamma got home. matt went with her to the store now I'm much better.we have a winter storm warning here for ice.those up in milwaukee have the weather channel live there.they say you are going to have a blizzard.Im thinking spring is less than a month away right???
And a good Saturday morning to everyone out there! I've looked at the breakfast menu which CW just posted and it sure looks good to me. I'm hungry!
It's raining here in Sioux Falls, and at the moment we have a temperature of 34 degrees above 0. Hopefully, the rain we are getting will not freeze. I will be headed for my other part-time job within a couple hours. I got my first pay check from Wendy's yesterday afternoon.........not too bad considering the limited number of hours that I had worked in the last two weeks. I will use every bit of it to pay utility bills.
I've got some dishes in my kitchen that need to be washed, and gotta clean up my kitchen counters so that I will be able to bake bread tomorrow. If pizza is on the menu for dinner in the Diner tonight, I might show up with a big bucket of homemade ice cream and a pan of chocolate fudge brownies.
Good Saturday morning, everyone. I think I'm feeling a little bit better this morning.
Emmar, thanks for the well wishes; and Joe, thank you so much for getting the coffee on, and making the juice.
On the warmer bar for breakfast: turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, western omelettes, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, grits, country-fried ham w/redeye gravy, oatmeal and toast.
Everyone have a great day, be careful out there (especially if you're in an area getting snow, ice and sleet). They are now saying our rain won't be in unitl late afternoon, and continuting through to about noon tomorrow.
