Good Monday morning, everyone!  Sure do hope that everyone had a good weekend, and is ready to get back into the swing of things.

Looks like others are sleeping in this morning, like I did.  Didn't wake up until 7 or a little after.  Just felt too comfortable under the comforter!

On the warmer bar, you'll find:  bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, hash browns, scrambled eggs, oatmeal & toast.

This always happens near the end of the winter and the start of spring. Everyone is busy and forgets to make time for the diner.  I will try to stop by every day and liven things up.

Lets see- how could I rouse up some trouble without getting anyone mad.  Oh yeah everyones favorite topic, What is your favorite railroad?

Mine is probably Union Pacific out of the Class 1 railroads.

Have fun!!

....Feel lucky to be in this location that will escape the above mentioned "clipper" stuff.  We've had a bit of wind the last 2 days but along with a lot of sunshine and yesterday just a bit of March snow flurries at times and then sunshine again, etc...

But today just a bit chilly and a litty wind and total sunshine and our upcoming week is sunny to partly sunny forecast here for us.  Snow is almost totally gone now.

Well, gee.  Not a bad day in the altogether.  After a two hour drive to attend a RR board meeting (and the two hour drive back) I took in a benefit dance for the ambulance squad.  Wasn't going to stay, but it was a real band, with a horn section, even.  So I stuck around until midnight.  Dog tired, so I slept until about 9...

Willy - About this Alberta Clipper - kinda late in the season, don't you think?  Winds gusting to 45mph tomorrow, pushing some show, then cold, with the wind.  Gonna be a miserable week, by the sounds of it...

Now for dinner...

Good Sunday morning to all!  Not sure what our low was last night/this morning, but currently, we have temps in the mid 20s, and the sun is shining.

Ray, thanks so much for putting the coffee on, making the juice and breakfast.  Think I'll just have a big bowl of cinnamon & spice oatmeal this morning.  Not only am I trying to lower my cholesterol, but I need to lose a few extra pounds I've put on lately.

I hope everyone has a great day today, and please make it back in around noon EST for our Sunday Dinner.  On the menu today:  beef stew w/cornbread, corn and freshly made garden salad.

A good, cold, frosty Sunday morning to everyone out there! I've already got the coffee brewing, the hot chocolate is out on the counter and I've mixed up a fresh batch of orange juice.

On the menu for breakfast this morning; I've baked two pans of cinnamon rolls, better grab one while they are still warm, bacon, pork sausage links, scrambled eggs, french toast and buttermilk pancakes served up with hot maple syrup, and banana bread. And lest I forget.......we also have left over pizza in the fridge from last night.

I was dead tired when I went to bed last night at 7:00, and I slept until 6:00 this morning. It is supposed to warm up to about 32 degrees here later this afternoon, the winds here are calm and we have a temp of 6 above 0. We got roughly 12" of snow out of the last storm that came through the Dakotas. I made the trek to my neighborhood grocery store late yesterday afternoon for a 10 pound sack of flour and I had snow drifts up to my knees to have to wade through. I cross the main line of the Ellis & Eastern RR every time I go to the grocery store or just about anywhere else in the downtown area, and the Ellis & Eastern's track was buried in a foot of snow.

I think I'll go for a couple of slices of the Supreme Pizza tonight.  It's been a gorgeous day.  I'm told that the temp didn't quite reach 70, but it was definitely T-shirt walking weather anyway.

I agree 100% with you. I have nothing against the book; I actually enjoyed it very much and I think it teaches a great lesson. I know that even today people have trouble treating everyone with justice. It's really sad because there is a beauty in everyone and its too bad that some people are unable to see that.

I'm just not big on the essay because I don't care for writing.

I think I'll take a break from writing my essay on To Kill a Mockingbird and have some pizza. I think I'll have a slice of sausage pizza and I'll try a stromboli also.

My essay topic is: Select one character from the novel and explain how the character lives out three of the Marianist Goals of Education. I've decided that the three Marianist Goals of Education I'm going to use are: Educate in family spirit; educate for service, justice, and peace; and educate for adaption and change.

I would rather take a test on it than write an essay, but my teacher said that she wants us to actually think about the deeper meaning of the book rather than just answer simple questions on it. I guess that's what I get for being smart and being in honors english rather than in regular english. Sigh [sigh]

Joe - I'll keep your mom in my prayers.

Looks like a beautiful day here if you just go by appearances.  Bright sunshine abounds.  I've got my Safety Salt out working on the ice layer, shouldn't take too long before I can go chip the rest away.  The barometer is almost back up to normal, and we have 22 degrees with a light to moderate northwest wind.

We'll add your Mom to our prayer list here, Joe.  Happy train spotting!  I might even venture out myself, if I get a few things done here...

Much more snow to the north of us, but it is still windy with some snow here.  We don't have the balmy temperatures like Indiana, but it is warm enough for the salt to melt the snow on the road.

Terrible story about the storm in Alabama.  I won't complain about a little snow and cold.
