(PSSST - BNSF - You may see someone alongside the tracks with a very large purse.  Keep close track of your engines lest one fit inside....)

Hmmmm.... Fish and chips....

I think I will have some perch, shrimp and fries. Dinner [dinner]

For some good dinnertime disscussion everyone should stop in at the Railroad DNA thread. It is an interesting topic.

Have a nice day everyone.

Mookie, I couldn't agree with you more:  Willy is the nicest young man, AND complimenting you on your new purse, too!  BTW, I like it myself.  Does is come in blue?  That's my favorite color.  Maybe in a robin egg blue, perhaps, for spring.

On the FRIDAY FISH FRY  menu:  cod, perch, halibut, haddock, jumbo butterfly shrimp, hushpuppies, fries, and Mookie's personal lunch request.

Desserts:  pecan pie, apple pie, peach pie, and cherry pie, chocolate cake w/chocolate frosting, and white cake w/white frosting.

Isn't he just the nicest young man to compliment me on my purse!  I am afraid there are some young citizens out there that would just say - "what's in the bag, hag!"......

Now I am all twitter-pated.....

Lovely purse Mookie! What color could be better than lime green?

It is indeed a very nice day. It almost feels warm out compared to what it has been lately. Next Monday or Tuesday our temperatures could approach 70 before it cools down again late next week.

I hope everyone has a good day, and remember: TGIF!

Good morning, everyone.  I did not sleep well last night, but that's okay as I'll just take a nap this afternoon anyway (one of the advantages of being retired, you know).  And besides, it is an absolutely beautiful day!  Captain [4:-)]

Got 40º here, but the frozen snow is being slow to respond.  Supposed to be a string very early spring like temperatures for the next several days so perhaps some ground will begin to appear.

I gave some thought to going down to Rochelle Sunday.  It would be nice to have a visit and watch some trains, but with the business going strong, we still need the day for some R&R.  (Read that a long afternoon nap.)

I'll take coffee to go.

Good Friday morning to all.  Looks like it's going to be another good, sunshiny day.  We're supposed to get to a high around 70 today.  Then, rain late tonight, through early Saturday morning.

Coffee is ready, along with fresh juice, hot chocolate, and hot tea.

On the warmer bar, you will find bear claws, chocolate covered doughnuts, including the cream filled, chocolate covered longjohns, strawberry, apple and cherry danish, and pecan rolls, and cinnamon rolls w/cream cheese icing.  (Mookie, I've got a bib and a warm damp washcloth, so you don't get any stuck to your fur and paws.)

Everyone have a great morning, and please be back for our FRIDAY FISH FRY.

Ooooh - so many choices!  One of each, please.  I'm not all that hungry, but it just looks so good!

Coal train came in at work today, and I just happened to be out and about.  Two GEs (one AC) bracketing an SD40-2....

I have a bunch of fire reports to file, so time to do some keyboarding.....

Since the grilling went so well this afternoon, I have plenty of everything on the lunch menu, is on tonight's supper menu.  Guess I over-grilled this afternoon.  Joe, got a to-go container all ready for you, in the cooler, for you to take to work tonight.  I've got all the meat and hot sides on the warmer bar, and the cold sides are in the fridge.  There's plenty for everybody, so eat up and enjoy!!

Not too warm yet here, but at least it's nice and sunny.  Looking forward to the weekend...

T-bone steaks, eh?  Boy, the cook sure is ambitious today!  I'll take a medium-rare one, please.

Good Morning!

Lunch sounds great, CW!

I don't have much news today other than the fact that warmer air is finally getting to eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. I'm not sure that we're totally done with winter yet, but we are certainly nearing the end.

Everyone have a good day!

Grilled pork chops and baked potatoes plus baked beans. Luv 'em. I will have to wear my coat at the picnic table. The heat wave has not reached us so far.

Since it's going to be another beautiful day, I thought I'd fire up the charcoal grill for lunch today.  On the lunch menu will be:  grilled chicken breasts, burgers, hot dogs, brats, t-bone steaks and pork chops.  Side dishes will be:  cole slaw, three-bean salad, potato salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, mac & cheese.  Also grilling some sweet green and red peppers and "baked" potatoes.

Joe, hope you and Matt have a great afternoon; and good wishes for everyone else's afternoon, also!!

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  Looks like we had a very slow night in here last night.  Hope things pick up a little better today in here.

Coffee is ready, fresh juice is made (both oj and oj/tangerine), hot water for tea and cocoa).

Regular breakfast items (turkey bacon, sausage, etc.) are on the warmer bar.

Everyone have a great day, take care, and if there are any requests for lunch and supper, please let me know, okay?
