I live about 30 miles north of the heaviest snowfall - we got inches while they got feet....
It's still pretty impressive down in that area - snow is still everywhere (even the tops of power poles that have two crossarms have snow sitting on them), and, as you can see from the pictures, it'll be a long while before it all disappears. If I remember, I'll head down later in the spring and see if I can find some leftovers to share (photographically).

I'll have hot soup, some hot tea, are those rolls still warm?
Noon, and still 3 below. At least the sun is out...
All right, now: there had better be more people/patrons coming in here this afternoon. Otherwise, this cook will go on strike. I don't cook just for my health, you know.
On the warmer bar, for lunch/dinner, you will find: roast, taters, carrots, beef noodles, fried chicken warmed up from supper last night; and in the cooler, we have: cole slaw, garden salad, Caesar salad, mixed fruit Jell-O, apple, peach and cherry pies, blueberry cobbler, peach cobbler, and pecan pie, along with chocolate cake and yellow cake w/white frosting.

^? Cantaloupe? My favorite! Plus it spears really nicely on a sharp nail painted /////
Dan - Ace has a chair just like mine! It naps really great, too!
Weather much nicer. Watched an mt coal block two crossings for about 35 min. Don't know if they had head end trouble, crew trouble, sleeping trouble or what. It was there when we arrived and didn't leave for 35 more min, so could have been there a lot longer. No one seemed to be all that excited about it except some of the cars that couldn't get to the other side. This is that same area where they are going to redirect at least 1/3 of Lincoln's traffic when they take out a viaduct. I am so anxious for this to happen I can hardly wait. Finally, we will have some news in our burg. "Angry citizens drive over mayor's lawn"...."Citizens form lunch line waiting for sitting trains"...."Computers installed in area to work while waiting for trains"......
Who knows - a whole new subdivision may come out of this - "Live by the Tracks and Join the Train-watching Club!"......
I need a nap!

Good Tuesday morning to one and all! Larry, those pictures are fantastic!
Coffee is on, and ready to pour, fresh juice is made (oj and orange tangerine), hot milk for hot chocolate, and plenty of hot water for tea, cider and cocoa.
All the regular hot food breakfast items are on the warmer bar, and in the cooler and fridge, you will find some fresh fruit (cantaloupe, grapes, blueberries, apples).
Everyone have a good, safe morning, and I'll see you all after I get through with the Produce Tuesday crowd.

....That's really wild stuff....I'd suppose folks that aren't paying attention may get a rude awaking with their roofs coming down to meet them.

I saw ample evidence of roofs being shovelled, even that day.

Well, we've not had the "Slick stuff" like you all, but I have had to grab a few fence
posts and light poles the last several days that I've been out.
NICE Pic. of the Church; That would make a Great Model!!

Mookie, Willy, heck whomever wants to see it-
This picture was before the last one!
This picture is of KC (Kitty Cat)
This picture is of Ace, who's 21!
Dan
Mookie, haven't seen or heard from Tree today. He must be very busy.
DF, you suggestion is on the menu for tonight, along with fried chicken, mashed taters & milk gravy, corn on the cob, peas & carrots and dessert tonight: regular desserts of cakes, pies and cobblers are available.
Nebraska Runzas (TM)....... Only we bake ours. They are meat, onion and cabbage all cooked and put on a flat square of bread, then folded and sealed and baked and comes out like a very small loaf of bread.....to die for - and if you can't tolerate cabbage - you will. But they are sooooooo gooooood.....
LM - still looking for the snowshoes.....(and the chicken)
Moo...
I went searching the web for fleischkuekle and was slightly amazed to discover that it is rather unique to North Dakota (having come from Germany, of course). There are restaurants in ND that have it on the menu.
It is a meat pie (usually made from hamburger with various seasonings). Just take bread dough, flatten it, add the meat filler which gets sealed in the dough, and deep fry it. Rather easy to make.

My knowledge of the German Language is not very good at all, but doesn't that
mean: "Fried Chicken"?!?!
Guess Datafever will have to enlighten us as to the meaning.
Mookie, I ain't touchin' your last reply with a 40 ft. pole!!
That is too funny!!
On today's lunch special: 1. beef stew w/cornbread; 2. pork chops w/mashed taters and milk gravy; cole slaw, garden salad, Caesar salad; and regular dessert menu.
Do I have any requests for our dinner/supper menu tonight? PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP, if there are.
