Morning everyone, I've been a cookin' machine!  Today I made some breakfast fajitas and egg 'n sausage biscuits.  You can add bacon, cheese, or substitute out the sausage or egg.  I've got some ham slices warmed up that go great with the home made rolls.  I also decided to make some pancakes and waffles and have some variety of those too.  There's plain, blueberry, chocolate chip, and bananna.  I've got some maple syrup, apricot syrup, and strawberry jam you can put on them.  For those in a lighter mood I do have a couple of bagels and donuts of varying flavor yet.  The coffee's hot, all the juices and milk are cold, plus there's hot water and bags of tea for those that want some.  Enjoy all!

Dan - I will snag a blueberry beagle.  I can even work the toaster, but with no opposable thumb, someone will need to smear the cream cheese on it.  Oh wait.  I chewed the top off, so I can just bite the beagle and lick.....mmmmm  gooooood.......

Wonder why collie flower doesn't taste this good?

Morning All,

Thanks Brian and RJ for the kind words about the shot! Blush [:I] Brian, the best advice I can give you is to avoid big glass as much as possible. It's highly addictive, and you'll soon be suffering from LBA (a term from my Pentax forum...it stands for Lens Buying Addiction). Telephoto stuff, and high speed stuff seem to be the worst.

For instance, that shot was taken with a 300mm f2.8. Lo and behold, now I'm craving a 500mm f4.5, and am even looking at a 600mm f4. Doh! On top of that, I'm kind of missing my Canon 400mm f5.6L (great birding lens...small and light enough to use handheld, but oh so sharp! even wide open). So I'm also keeping an eye out for an FA*400mm f5.6. The list also contains a lot of shorter focal length lenses, too. Sigh.....it is a disease!

At any rate, should you feel the need to get some bigger glass, let me know, and I can give a couple pointers for that "other" brand that I used to use. You might check about rental information, too. One of the nice things about your brand is that every rental shop offers them(not the case with Pentax). You might be able to rent anything up to a 600mm f4L IS at a decent rate (out here that lens runs $100 per day...but you only get charged one day for a whole weekend). Could be a neat way to play with some big glass without breaking the bank.

Well, guess I had better be on my way. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning and thanks for all that breakfast food! Dinner [dinner]

By the way, we need to make a LOT of "hot comfort food" over the next 3-4 days. It's supposed to get down to 24° F. in the mornings in Sacramento, CA over the next few days. Shock [:O] In short, make lots of hot beef stew, hot chili, and hot chicken noodle soup.

Right now we have a temperature of 25 degrees here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but with the wind blowing out of the northwest, it actually feels like 13 degrees. By 9:00 PM here the temp will have dropped to 15, and the wind chill will place us at 0. Tomorrow's temperature is not supposed to get above 6 degrees and the wind chill will be a minus 10 degrees below 0.

So let's bring on the hot chilli, beef stew and chicken noodle soup!!Chef [C=:-)]Dinner [dinner]

I've got a feeling that I will end up staying home tomorrow, rather than to be out looking for work, and I will probably be drinking a lot of hot chocolate.

SactoGuy and Ray, your wish is my command:  beef stew, chicken noodle soup, chili and plenty of cornbread are on the warmer bar, just waiting for everyone to start rolling in for lunch.  And for those on the west coast, there's still plenty of Dan's breakfast items still on the warmer bar, also.

CW I'm now up daily by 4 or so.  I feel like making breakfast so it's not a big deal.  Lately I'm working from 5 AM until 9 PM or thereabouts so long days are the norm for me.  If I'm stealing your thunder I can stop cooking.

No Dan, I was only teasing about me getting up at 4 a.m.!  You are more than welcome, to come in at 4 a.m., and get things started.  I don't mind at all.  It's nice to have some very, very good helpers in here:  you, Mutt, Joe, Ray, Larry, Mookie and Randy Vos, and Sarah.  And, of course, little Matt (even though he's taller than I am, I think.

Thing is, at 4am, I'm just getting to sleep!!!

Not too much else happening here, one of my parents favorite restaurants burned down earlier in the week, Moy's over in Elkhorn.  I was never big on Chinese food, so the family didn't go there often, but mom and dad used to go quite a bit.

Willy, if you don't quit fiddling around with that weather machine, I'm going to make it very uncomfortable for you, and I'm sure Mudchicken and Chris would only be too glad to assist me!!  Supposed to be 40 today, then rain, sleet and light snow tonight, then the temps drop, then snow on Sunday and Monday, could be quite the storm, then the bottom drops out of the temperature.

See everyone later.

I sure feel sorry for whoever lives in Denver!  This storm is baaaaad.  It's putting down three or four inches here in Reno/Carson and I don't even want to think about how bad it is in Tahoe.  If you're heading into or out of Denver, better take a train!   Stay safe and see everybody late tonight.

(Willy, you keep playing with that weather machine and you might get a blanket party! So, put down the controls and step away from the machine......)

Yikes! They're really turning on me here! And all because they don't want snow and cold temperatures! At least Dan is a supporter of snow, but I can't seem to aim any up that way. It'll get to you sooner or later, Dan. And the cold and snow will end for you other folks at some point or another, too. You just have to be patient. Wink [;)]

Anyway, I'm getting a bit worried here in Omaha. It looked like a great snowstorm for the weekend, but now the computer models are making all kinds of fancy changes with this system and it looks like only 4 to 8 inches now. I know, I know, I'm probably the only person in the world who refers to 4 to 8 inches as "only", but compared to what they were forecasting it's not a whole lot. I guess a lot can still change between now and Sunday though.

I hope everyone has a good evening and I'll try to do some work on that weather machine and get it so it satisfies everyone, but that may be a lost cause.

Those evil giggles you hear from under the counter is Willy cranking up the deep freezer for Denver while toning down the snow (a managable 6 inches over a couple of days this time, starting on Thursday night like clockwork - again). Just as long as I can make the mad dash to Indianapolis next week, I'll live with snow and cold.

Hope Copcar's namesake has enough battery to turn over and some decent antifreeze - or he's grounded/stuck in one place for quite a while.

Think I'll be taking a vacation far from Denver this summer (August 25-28) to avoid the zoo here in town....

Cider please.

Willy, you are doing just fine with that weather machine.  We all understand that it might take you a few years of practice to get it completely fine-tuned.  Yeah, it is going to be a little nippy here in San Jose for the next few nights, but during the day it is pretty nice.  And I still haven't had to turn my heat on yet.  Captain [4:-)]

Eight degrees last night, thirty-seven right now.  Willy - you need to tweak your long distance stuff a bit!

Not complaining too much, though - the contractors are getting work done on my system that could be under a few feet of snow.

Barbeque pit is all ready out back, the charcoal is piled up in the shed.  I'll be lighting things off nice and early so the chicken can be ready around lunch.  If anybody doesn't mind a little smoke, I'll gladly take some help turning the chicken from time to time.

And stay out of the fixin's! (at least until lunch tomorrow...)

In terms of extreme cold temperatures, it's beginning to get a bit wicked here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Denver is still getting too much snow, Louisville is probably getting more than their fair share of rain, and some people are not getting snow where they really want it.

I wonder what my chances are of enlisting the help of some U.S. Air Force B-52's out of Elsworth Air Force base just outside of Rapid City to bomb Willy's weather machine in Omaha????? Laugh [(-D]Probably zilch.Banged Head [banghead]

Seriously though, I don't really think I want to drop bombs on anyone!

The AC compressor on my 300 bit the dust today.  For now, removing a drive belt works to put off the kind of pricey replacement.  Can you set the weather machine to max out our temperature at about 60 degrees until about March 1?

GOOD MORNING, TRAINS DOT COMMMMM! Read that as though you were Robin Williams from 'Good Morning, Vietnam'.   Anyway....

For breakfast this morning I decided that since it's Friday which is always a good thing we'd have steak 'n eggs.  I'll make both ham steak and some tenderloin.  Eggs are as you please them to be fixed.  Plus there's corned beef hash, hash browns, bacon, or sausage on the side.  I've also brought in some oatmeal of varying flavors for those who need that kind of a warmer-upper.  The beverages are where they're supposed to be and at their intended temperature.  Enjoy!
