Greetings to all our regular customers and Welcome to any new ones. Some of you know we have been asked to begin a new coffee shop so here it is. Please begin using this one ASAP. I believe they will probally lock the old one within a few days. It is sad to see it go but we can all meet here and carry on the same 'ol chat.
I wish to thank each and every one of you for making the old coffee shop the success that it was. I look forward to meeting all of you here in the new shop.
I wish that 2007 will be a most prosperous year for all our guests and that it exceeds your wildest expectations. God bless each and every one of you.
Thank you all.
Jim
I sure love that new diner smell!
I moved over the stuff from the old diner, so CW's trademark breakfast is on the new warmer!

It is good to hear from you, your comments have been missed.
....Cheers to Jim to getting a new diner up and running. Best wishes to all for new year.

Thank you Jim for our new location. And thank you Larry, for moving everything. Just one little question: did you guys get all the train layouts dismantled, packed up and moved? I don't recall Mutt saying anything about it, but I could be mistaken.

Found some out of work elves to assist.....
Hope Ms Mook finds her way in here.
mmph, (shove), grunt, (push) - that kitty litter is heavy! Need get my cup - someone put it up really high. Tree? Brian? Need some height here!
I am in only to grab a donut and leave again. We are off again on the 2nd - my normal day off - due to Pres. Ford evidently needing a day off, too.
Back again on Wed, now.

Good to have you back Jim.
CW, I bet the Mookie can find her way...pretty resourceful for a feline!
In fact, just got a new recipe for a kitty energy drink in mail...think I will stick with Starbucks though...the new one includes blended goldfish....
Everyone stay safe this weekend, stay cut in, and if you over do, call a cab.
Already been to a few to many cemeteries this year for my taste, and don't want to have to go to any next year.

Agreed to the previous comment: gotta love that new diner smell! This place is nice and I think I'll like it! Way to go JHH and CW!

So what's their reason for the shutdown? ...
Also while this may seem sad that they are locking up the old DD/CS, I have noted in the past that it had become an institution of trains.com and was surprised to see it still running.
However with that business taken care of I should say that while I'm in college, I still railfan when I can.
Oh yes and what's that smell .......

As noted toward the end of the old Diner thread, really long threads (we were up to nearly 1000 pages IIRC) tend to bog down the server. Normally a really long thread doesn't get much past a dozen pages or so before it fades into oblivion.
Because of the rambling nature of the thread, starting a new one won't mean much of a difference. As I suggested in the old place, maybe we should "remodel" once a year, just as a housekeeping thing...
After going out for brand new birthday decorations, I've got everything arranged, and the birthday decorations are up for tomorrow. We will end the year in our new DD/CS, and celebrate Ed's birthday.
Yes, Df, pizza is on for tonight, in the new kitchen. Below, you'll find the pizza menu for tonight:
1. Canadian Bacon2. Cheese3. Goetta4. Hawaiian5. Pepperoni/Mushroom6. Supreme7. Vegetarian
I have made two extra large pizzas of all seven kinds on the menu for tonight. They'll go into the new oven at 7:30 EST

Thanks, CW. I guess that I was just getting a little impatient. For my very first dinner in the new diner, I'll have two slices of Hawaiian pizza.
//Looks around for a table that isn't already full, but isn't empty either. Ah, there's one... "May I join you?"
Sorry, but the Canadian Bacon pizza is
MINE, ALL MINE!!!!! And you can't have any! (just kidding a little bit here, I know I must be polite and share with everyone, otherwise I might find myself in trouble with Cherokee Woman. We would not have a Diner without her help.)

I'll take a large 4 & 4 coffee and some pancakes please!!!!!
matt
I'm up for some Hawaiian Pizza...
New place looks good...
Thanks Jim,
LC
Well, isn't the new Diner nice? I'm glad to be here! Thank you Jim for getting this new Diner going right away.
I have been gone for the past 24 hours because we moved on Friday and I just got the wireless network back up and running. Our new house is super nice and best of all, it is near the BNSF railroad tracks in Omaha. I can't see the tracks because they are down in a gulley, but I can hear them. The computer is actually in a room that we've already designated as the office, rather than in one of the bedrooms. We've increased our garage size, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, and the basement is completely finished. Such an improvement!
The best news of all is that it now looks like we may end up with 2 - 4 inches of snow here in Omaha. That's even better than moving and living near the train tracks.
All righty, that's all for tonight; there's still a lot of stuff to unpack and put away. My room also has to be repainted since the family that lived here before us had all girls and all of the bedrooms are all painted yellow or pink. Yuck!
Hope everyone has a good evening!
Willy
WELL ISN'T THIS INTRESTING?? I leave for one week go back to Philadelphia, and come back to find the DD & CS in a brand new building and in a different location. I do wonder how close to the tracks we are this time? Anyway, nice look, and we still have our old COOK! YAhooo!
I hope everyone is doing ok tonight, esp the people over in Denver, CO! WOOOOOWEEEEE are they getting some snow or what? God Bless and good luck.

Wow! I would call this a successful grand opening. And on a holiday weekend yet!! I hope that this is a sign of things to come.
Gee, I guess I'll have another piece of pizza. What's left? I'm not fussy, I'll eat anything!
