Good Saturday morning, to all!  Joe, thanks for making the muffins, and putting the coffee on,  and making fresh juice for this morning.  To go with Joe's & Matt's muffins, I've got fresh baked doughnuts to add to this morning's breakfast.

And Joe, you're right:  if this warm spell keeps up, I'll have to find the guy who cut our yard, and have him  cut it again.  And that's a 10-4 on the pizza for tonight.

....Strange things are happening to the growing plants, etc....Cherry blossoms coming out in Washington D C....Tulips shooting up in Central Park, NYC....High 60's in southern Indiana....Record temps. in the Northeast...

I had my yard mowed nice and smooth here at the end of the mowing season {central Indiana}, and now it is starting to look a little clumpy as some parts of it have grown since.....Strange....El Nino has really messed up where our winter has landed...Certainly not here yet....This is the coldest month of the season and we're running way above normal for weeks now.

Hope we don't have to pay in another strange weather happening....2 Years ago we were in a motel now...from a massive ice storm that blasted us here.

100,000 folks out of power, some for over 12 days.  We lucked out and made it to a motel in Anderson...Our power was out for 55 hrs.  {And our home is total electric}.

Thousands of Power Co. workers in from a dozen states to put our electrical system back together....The place looked like the face of the moon for 6 months.  Tree trimming trucks are really still working clearing power line ROW's...Which should help when the next one hits...Hope not anyway soon.

It's a little nippy out today - 34 degrees right now.  And only expected to get into the 50s.  What happened to the global warming that was supposed to be coming?  Sad [:(]  (Please, don't answer that!)

Pizza tonight sounds great.

Good morning, everyone!

Well, I see that a woman in Loveland was selling snow on EBay. I've got an even better deal for all of you back east, I'll sell you our whole winter! Wouldn't want you guys to miss out.

Well, at least there wasn't a lot of drifting with this last batch of snow. It was cold out this morning, though! Was able to talk nicely to Madison (the name of the CopCar) this morning, and we made it out to the semi-plowed streets without too much of an issue.

It is getting a little crazy, though. Usually our snows disappear almost as fast as they come. That really hasn't been the case with this winter. I'm runnning out of places to pile snow!

Well, hope you all have a great day!

TTFN!

Two note on following Chris' lead in putting his mug on his Avatar...or really NOT following his lead... those of us over 50 years old need sun protection to prevent skin cancer (not kidding about that one)...and also in my case if I followed his lead, my ugly mug shot might screw up the forum in some way!

Hey Chris, I'm glad that you are enjoying the snow.  I was living in Denver (actually Englewood/Littleton) back in the winter of 84/85.  I remember the Broncos playing on Monday Night Football (at home) as a snowstorm raged.  Nobody went anywhere for a day or two, and that snow stayed around for quite a while too.  Didn't faze me much - I've been through much worse.

Stay safe, and warm. Captain [4:-)]

So, here I am, sitting in the wilds of northern New York, wondering about this thing called winter.  We've had 3/4" of rain in the past 24 hours, it's 50 degrees and gloomy.  Did I mention that it's raining?  Managed to get the dogs to the post office and back during a break in the drizzle...

I shouldn't be complaining. That .75" of rain would translate to upwards of 7" of snow I have to be moving out of the driveway.

On the other hand, those whose livelihood depends on snow this time of year are looking at a hurting status.

I'll be in for some Hawaiian pizza later.

When the cold air does arrive (and I can guarantee that at some point it will) it will be devastating to all of that vegetation that's coming up or blooming. As a matter of fact, that cold blast may be coming soon. The GFS computer model has been consistently showing temperatures near freezing as far south as the Florida Panhandle in about two weeks, with very cold temperatures farther north in the midwest and northeast. While this isn't a sure thing, the other computer models are backing the GFS which gives this situation some decent credibility. It bears close watching...

I'll be back in for the pizza fest this evening.

CW,

Save us a large goetta and a large pepperoni. Need a 2 liter Dr. Pepper if ya got it.

Everyone have a great afternoon. We had a 68 year record broken yesterday. It got up to 65 at the Northern KY International Airport. Supposed to be back to around normal on Monday and Tuesday.

.....And we are to see some colder temps this coming week here in Indiana too....but really haven't heard of any major precip along with it yet.

Normally I have my winter tires installed on my pickup about the 1st of Nov. and I still have not done so this season....If I see the pattern changing than I'll take action but so far, not necessary.

Mid 40's today mostly cloudy with a bit of sunshine at times today.  Normal temps for our area now would be:  34 / 19

I don't know if we blame this on global warming but some system is out of place on the earth to be producing this kind of weather over such a wide area.

Man, you folks are making me jealous with all of your warm weather. Here in Reno, we've been shivering for weeks with temps as low as 5 and highs sometimes no better than 30.  It's been warming up a little and we may actually have a 40 degree day this next week.  I wish some global warming would come my way!!

Sigh...well, the Hawaiian Pizza sounds like a winner to me!

Good afternoon everbody! It's just another cloudy, rainy cold day here. The local Cub Scouts had a "We'll pick up your tree and maybe you can leave a donation for us on the door" fundraiser set for this morning. I was afraid that they would get the envelope with money, but no tree. The wind was gusting up to 40 mph last and the tree went for a roll. I had to claim it from the street and drag it back to the driveway. I jammed it between a street sign that says "No Parking" and the street light.

I've seen trains with CN units pulling cars that look like pellet cars marked cartotex? I forget what I was told they are carrying. Aluminum pellets? maybe. Pretty cool.

I've been keeping many of you in prayer...for healed eyes and newborn eyes and such.

CW, I am really craving a cheese omelet. Is it possible to get one this late in the day?

More black coffee for me. I am wondering if any customers from Denver went skiing today. Hiway 40 is closed now with some cars buried in a snowslide. I hope all are OK.

For supper, I will have the sausage pizza, but I will have to get it to go, if you don't mind.

Well, I've managed to 'crawl" in this morning.  Not sure how long, though.  The headache is a little better, but still letting me and my stomach know it's there.  Yeah, it's one of those daggone headaches that make you so sick. Sad [:(]  that you almost wish you wereDead [xx(]I really hate getting one of those headaches.

Sarah, thank you so very much for taking over, and making and baking the pizzas for me last night.

Joe, thank you very much for getting breakfast this morning.  I've got me a big cup of coffee, and I think I might try some pancakes and sausage a little bit later.

Everyone have a great day.

I woke up with a minor headache this morning, so I can sympathize to some degree with Cherokee Woman and anyone else who suffers from them, especially if they are of the migraine type. Anyway CW, I hope you will do a lot better as the day progresses.

It's kind of a gloomy morning here in Sioux Falls, our temperature is currently at 32 degrees. With the wind chill factored in, it actually feels like 19 degrees. The wind here is out of the northwest. I've looked at the weather conditions for Louisville, Kentucky, and it looks like Locomutt, Cherokee Woman and Sarah are getting a lot of rain. Does it ever stop raining in Louisville??

I went to or local Hobby Town store yesterday with a Hobby Town gift card that was given to me some three years ago by a former employer of mine, not knowing that if I did not use it within two years, the Hobby Town Corporation would levy a monthly charge of $2.00 against the card. The people who run this local Hobby Town store are friends of mine, and they told me that there was only $4.00 left on the card. I was forced to shell out an additional $10.29 for the jig saw puzzle that I bought. I think this is a rip-off on the part of Hobby Town in general. I am not finding fault with the owners of this local store. Has anyone else out there run into the same kind of a snag with Hobby Town or other hobby shops??

The jig saw puzzle that I bought is "Spirit of the Mountain" by Nicholas Trudgian, and it depicts a passenger train on the Rio Grande Southern in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in the late 19th century. Very nice!
