It is a beautiful afternoon here in Louisville:  not too warm, a nice little breeze blowing and nice sunshine.

Here is the menu for Tom's Bday & our Sunday Dinner:

1.  Meat loaf w/mashed taters, gravy, green beans w/shelled beans together, choice of garden salad or slaw, buttermilk biscuits

2.  Country/Southern fried chicken w/any of the above listed side dishes

Dessert:  Chocolate cake and ice cream w/plenty of hot fudge sauce

Tom, hope you are enjoying your birthday, and will enjoy your birthday dinner!!

Everyone take care, have a good afternoon/evening and, if possible, maybe I'll see you all in the a.m., before they  start the system maintenance and lock the doors here.

Not sure how I feel about the changes just yet.  Willing to wait a few days to try to get adjusted to the new look.

I've put out cold cuts, bread, sub/hoagie buns, and all the fixings you might want for supper tonight.  Been a busy day, going to grocery and restocking, so just didn't want to/feel like fixing a lot for tonight.

Everyone take care, have a good evening and see you all later.

Why did they fix something that wasn't broken?

In their defense - we say the same thing every time things change.

On the other hand, this is going to take some getting used to.  Kinda reminds me of MS Windows and other MS programs.  If there's a feature I use a lot, invariably the next version won't have it, or will make using it more difficult...

Good Wednesday morning all.  Still trying to figure out this new system, and what happens:  power goes out all at once, then comes right back on, and have to reset the DSL modem, etc., just to continue on the computer.

BOC (Barry), glad to hear that you're feeling better.

Louisville has a temp of 71 degrees this morning, going for a high of 89 this afternoon.  One of the local meteorologists commented this morning that his allergies were all messed up, and guess that's right:  my head was so full of stuff this morning, when I awoke, that I was actually dizzy and lightheaded. Took an allergy pill, and already beginning to feel some relief.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is also ready and on the breakfast/warmer bar.

Take care, have a good day, and maybe one of these days, we'll all have the new system figured out.

Afternoon all.  Temps locally remain in the mid to upper 70s.  Wondering if we will make it to 89 this afternoon.  Walt has gone to the library, Sarah's out watering her plants and flowers.

Here is the menu for the rest of the day:

1.  Tacos, burritos, Spanish fried rice, mesquite grilled t-bone steaks and bone-in pork chops

2.  Chinese fried rice:  beef, chicken, pork, shrimp & special; sweet & sour shrimp; chicken w/broccoli; pepper steak; Moo Goo Gai Pan and beef w/broccoli

Everyone have a good afternoon, take care, keep safe and see you all later.

Afternoon Railfans!

Starting to recover from the upgrade and I am still working with IT on the major issue; biggest being the MASSIVE email messages that were going into the Inbox.  I think the issue is now solved and folks just need to adjust their profile settings based on if they want them or not.  It looks like allot of notifications that were not working on the old version kicked in with the upgrade and starting working.

I know I and others have other requests but can't say if we will get those changes or not.  Hang in there with us as we work through the issues.

Good Thursday morning all.  Beautiful skies and sun beginning to peak out.  Haven't heard the weather report this morning, but think we're going to have a nice day, particularly since our Ky. State Fair starts today, and goes to the 26th.  And, as always at State Fair time, we'll probably have quite a few very hot days.  But seriously doubt that we'll be going.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is ready and on the breakfast/warmer bar.

Everyone have a very good morning, take care, and see you all later.

Had a storm in the area!  Stopped over the city; made a lot of noise; 15 drops of water; moved on.

Wow - it is too dry to rain.  Not unusual - happens every late summer, but not usually for this long.  Rain usually comes after Labor Day - we shall see.  As usual - if we get cold enough this winter to freeze, that is when we will get the rain....Grumpy

Going to join the landlord in the bathroom shortly.  (giggle)  He is going to change our "flapper".  I could probably do it, but with the price of new thrones - don't want to mess it up.  Driver sez he isn't touching it, since it isn't his.  Since he feels the same way about cleaning it, guess it must be mine and the landlords?

Our current temp is somewhere in the low 90s, supposed to get up to 95??  Skies are clouding up; NWS radio went off a few ago, tstorm watch for several counties in Indiana, and 2 counties in southwest KY.  Nothing in our immediate area, so far.

Did finally make it to the store to pick up my prescriptions earlier this afternoon.  After I got off the bus up by the shopping center, the walk across the 2 parking lots was really, really hot.  Was very glad to get inside the store (Kroger has an in store pharmacy, so makes it easier to get there for prescriptions).  When I came out, sun had gone in behind the clouds, and looked like it could maybe drizzle anytime, but by the time I got off the bus, 1/2 block from home, sun was back out in full force. Go figure!

Here is our menu for tonight:

1.  Grilled boneless/skinless chicken breasts w/mashed taters w/plenty of butter/margarine, choice of green sweet peas w/corn, broccoli spears w/butter sauce, baked cornbread & garden salad

2.  Sloppy Joes w/fries and garden salad

Hope you all have a good evening, take care and see you all later.

CW Sounds good.!

It's +94F down here in Hope, Ar this afternoon.  Supposed to storm this afternoon or tonite.  I guess I should count myself lucky I've been inside all day.

From what Stourbridge Lion said I guess I should check my E Mail and do a little clean up there.

Best to everyone.

Thx Ian

That is a funny Jen...Especially the last part.

We're getting some of that strange stuff this afternoon and evening....Rain..!  Lord knows we need it.

But I'm hoping  it does as it's forecast to do....Get out of here late tonight, and follow the worst part of it that went southeast of us....Just rain here.

Want no rain tomorrow morning...'cause I have a clean car, and heading out east.  Forecast looks very good after this system does get out of here.

I have good timing....Morning paper indicated Indiana has increased it's gasoline prices faster in the past 2 weeks than ANY other State...What a nice record.

At least I can beat them on the way out of here....The car is full of fuel....and won't need to purchase any until I'm in Pennsylvania.

Good Friday morning all.  Quentin, hope you have a safe trip to PA and then back home to IN.  Take care and enjoy your trip.

We are starting off with  a temp of 69 degrees here in Louisville this morning, after the thunderstorms that rolled through here last night.  Supposed to make it up to 81 degrees today for the high.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the breakfast/warmer bar:  bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, bagels, bear claws and a nice selection of doughnuts and danish pastries.

Anyone attending our Ky. State Fair today is going to have beautiful weather for it.  Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all later.

It is official...I do not like these forum changes that much. I found a few things here where one has a few extra clicks one has to go throughGrumpy..the only saving grace was that I never had to enter into my profile to change email settings....Whistling

Not even a full moon and we have crunches and car accidents.

High of 79 and the skies are not cloudy all day, all nite or into next week.

Saw a couple of in and out coal trains.  Also a remote doing a backing into the yard with a rare caboose guiding them in.  Nice change of scenery.

Long day already and only 2:30 p....maybe a nap is in order.  Yessssss.....

According to the computer, our current temp is 83 F. out at the airport.  Our thermometer is showing 80 F.  Been a very lovely day, with an on again, off again breeze blowing, but had a good walk anyway.

Our Friday Fish Fry is ready and on the warmer bar:  Catfish, haddock, halibut, Tilapia, perch and shrimp.  Side dishes include:  baked beans, corn on the cob, mac & cheese, mixed greens, slaw, potato salad, and deep fried breaded mushrooms.

Desserts:  chocolate cake w/white icing, yellow cake w/caramel icing, yellow cake w/chocolate icing, apple and pecan pies and peach cobbler.

Hope everyone has had a good day, enjoy the weather and your evening.  See you all in the morning.

I don't think I posted the video I helped assemble for the Adirondack Scenic's 20th Anniversary Celebration (at least not here in the diner), so here it is.
