Good Sunday morning all. Well, here we are, in our new 'home' for the next 3 months. Walt and everyone who helped get us moved, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! Couldn't have done it without all of you helping.
Quentin, I'm glad you had such a good Homeward Bound ceremony/celebration for Jean. That nice, big shade tree sounds wonderful.
81 degrees here in Louisville this morning, but we do have a nice breeze blowing right now. Going for a 'slightly cooler' 102 degrees this afternoon, as our high yesterday was 104 degrees.
Coffee, juices, Gatorade, lemonade, lime ade, iced teas (sweet and unsweetened), iced water, soft drinks, etc. are all nice and cold and ready to go. Larry and Tom, do have hot water for hot tea, ifin you want it.
Breakfast is on the breakfast bar: bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, cinnamon rolls and blueberry muffins.
Everyone have a good morning, take care going to work, Church, railfanning, whatever/wherever you'll be. See you all this afternoon.

...A new quarter. And we start with sunshine. And I believe plenty of heat as the day continues on. Have not seen the specific temp forecast for today here....but long range forecast yesterday had temps near the hundred mark all thru Friday.
Doing a bit of organizing here in home office this morning....to catch up, and about to get ready for church.
Everyone be careful with upcoming holiday, etc.....kids and fireworks, seems to produce unwanted results when not careful...!
Quentin
Good afternoon and peace be with you.
98 and oppressive in Carolina, supposedly headed for 99, but probably higher. There is not going to be a break any time soon, so sez they.
Q, good to see you out and about.
Nothing much to report, so everyone take care and try to keep out of the heat.
End. No more

Happy Canada Day. Canada is having its' 145th Birthday today.
It is sunny and 70° right now. I just came in from outside and after reading the news sites I feel guilty enjoying such nice weather compared to what I see happening in the eastern US. I saw mentions of Ohio in the list of affect locations. I hope Joe is not having too much trouble.
I live across the street from a pub and you can tell the folks inside are enjoying one of the World Cup Soccer games as every once in a while loud cheers go up as someone makes a good play, or scores a goal. Personally, I've never followed soccer, but it sounds like they are enjoying themselves.
Nice to see Quentin in here this morning.
Everyone have a great day.

Good Evening...
We had our neighbourhood fireworks display tonight...all of 30 minutes of it. About 300 kids and adults showed up for it...lots of fun to be had....
Hope everyone stays safe in those storms there...we saw nothing here at all....
....Today's heat generated wild weather went north on it's way east today. But we did get .04" of rain out of it. Badly needed. Even that small amount started to green up the lawn....But we've got a ways to go to really get it nice again.
Got thru this day. Made it to church today. The hugs, and words makes one emotional, but we made it thru.
Not as hot today, but when the sun was out it was plenty warm...This coming week has us posted for 90's and maybe better all week.
Everyone have a good holiday week.....
Good Morning...
Up at a weird hour of day...could not get to sleep for the life of me...chemo-induced insomnia.....
Going to get to 86F today, feeling like 92F.....in the sunshine....
Today is getting some shut eye day...if little Spring will let me......
Good Monday morning all. Quentin, I'm happy to see that you made it in a couple of times yesterday. Can't quite remember what our official high was yesterday, but when thunderstorms rolled in, naturally the humidity picked up also. Down to 3500 homes without power in our area this morning. Our lights flickered a couple of times, but power stayed on. Some areas (not ours) received heavy winds, hail and pouring rain. We had thunder, lightning and a nice gentle rain: never saw anything heavy, and no pouring rain. This was between 8 and 8:30 last night.
So, we're going to have temps in the mid to upper 90s today, with more humidity, so will still feel like it's about 105, 110 degrees outside. Right now, our temp is ranging from 71 to 73 degrees. Not too bad.
Coffee, juices, Gatorade, lemonade, etc. are fresh and ready to go. Breakfast is ready and on the breakfast bar.
Everyone have a good morning, keep cool, take care and see you all later this afternoon.
Good Morning Railfans!
It's currently 70F heading up to the low 90's; still hotter the seasons average but at least it's not 100+
Fire News:
Sadly the number of dead has risen to 3 after two more people perished in the Waldo Canyon Fire and the count is 346 homes lost in that fire alone. Heart wrenching photos coming out of folks returning to what was their homes including this man who just recently returned after severing over-seas in the Army

Peace be with you. 91 and sunshine in Carolina, oppressive but not like yesterday.
We had a real whizbang come thru last night. Our power was out for five and a half hours. Apparently, AT&T took a heavy hit cuz we lost internet for 22.5 hours and only got it back about 20 minutes ago. I like to have freaked out.... Actually, tho, it is amazing how much we have come to depend on these stupid things! There is a 20% chance of more thunder today and tonight.
That be about it. Everyone take care and try to stay out of the heat
afternoon
some areas still without power today.heard it could be Saturday before it is restored.got errands done and need to get back to chores.Cw thanks for supper. This week its work 2 days, off one day the back at it 2 days.
Joe
Afternoon all. Not sure what our current temp is; just went outside and fed Momma Kiki, Little Mook, Little Mud and the three youngins, and it is HOT outside. The breeze has even gotten hot again, so that is no relief. The only relief is, we don't have temps in the triple digits today!
Tom, regarding AT&T: that must be the reason Walt and I couldn't get on after the storms went through last night. We did have to reset our DSL modem and the wireless modem, but even after that, we had trouble actually getting online. But everything was working when I booted up the computer this a.m.
Joe, you're very welcome regarding supper tonight. And on tonight's menu:
Angus steaks: you can have it broiled or grilled, with baked taters and fresh, cold garden salad.
Hope everyone is staying cool and having a good day. Have a good evening, take care and see you all tomorrow.
CW - I would have broiled dirt if I didn't have to cook it.

Mrs. Fox (aka "foxxy") had dinner on our front porch last night, Bunny al-fresco. The boyz went nuts after they put two and two together. Nigel stood gaurd at the front door all night long.
If there is room at the counter could I say hello and get some lemonade? Just finished dinner.
Thx IGN
Lemonade is easy! Don't have to cook anything!
Temp is going to change, finally. Will go from 95 today to 100 tomorrow. I was beginning to think we were going to be stuck in the 90's!
Ah summer!
Sorry I didn't help move - had a train to run (actually three trips).
Good ridership, though.
A belated Canada Day to our neighbors to the north!
Grandson rode with us on Saturday. He seemed pretty impressed with Papa's train. He got a model of an F-7 in the gift shop, although he opted for the brighter colors of the WP versus the drab NYC...
Heard discussion of the wildfires and fire conditions in that area on TV tonight (TWC?). The question of fireworks came up - didn't sound real hopeful. Maybe they can arrange for a laser light show instead.

92 Degrees was the high today. The lemonade did have ice? Actually I shouldn't complain I've been inside all day in the A/C. Last nite thou storms knocked a tree down on the power lines no power for 4 hours.
I had some errands to run today and had a/c on in Millie. Had to wait in a line for a few min, so turned off the a/c and rolled down all the windows. I had forgotten how nice it was just to have 45 mph a/c. It was a little humid, but still felt good. And you can sing at the top of your lungs and no one can hear you, since they all had their windows up good and tight!
Storms to the north, storms to the south, and me bone dry in the middle......
Another hot day today, played Rochester for my mother today, she needed help picking up some things at the local Walmart, she is on restricted duty from her hernia surgery for a while yet. Other than that, just puttered around the house today, getting ready to go back out into the truck tomorrow. I have a feeling the semi will not be shut off for several days, except when I'm inside the truck stops.......
I can finally call the living room finished, did the last of the trim work yesterday, now everything matches, and the door frame to the kitchen was removed and oak boards were installed. Not bad for my first attempt at trim work.........
Keep the liquids coming, I have a feeling I'm going to need two cases of water in the truck for this tour of duty......

Going to go up to 91F feeling like 110F tomorrow...you get the idea...the only thing is is that tomorrow evening is the only time we are supposedly going to see thunderbumpers...if any do show up...
Starting off here in Louisville with a temp of 76 degrees, going up to mid to upper 90s again this afternoon, with a chance of a pop up storm early evening. I did hear on the morning news that everyone who was without power here in Jeff. Co., the power is now back on.
Mookie, you are the "Hostice with the Mostice" around here!
Mudchicken, what kind of critter was lurking on the outside of the front door?
Randy: got 4 cases of water for you. Will that hold you on your trip, or do you need a couple more cases?
Coffee, juices, Gatorade, lemonade, limeade, fruit punch, iced teas (sweet & unsweetened), and ice cold bottles of water are all ready to go. Breakfast is on the breakfast bar.
Going to be a looonng day: Produce/Bread trucks this morning, come home, get on computer to pay the bills, then go to the grocery for a few items, and to the bank for bus tickets.
For Lunch, have a whole big tray of club/hoagie sandwiches made up for everyone.
Everybody have a good morning, keep cool and safe and see you all sometime this afternoon, early evening, hopefully.
Everything is running just fine here in ACland...70F inside and outside already 70 feeling like 88F...going to get to 90F feeling like 107FF...in the shade...
I have a bunch of runnin' 'roun' to do this afternoon..yes, I said this afternoon...in the heat and humidity..but, it needs to get done..dang it... Think I'll stop by my favorite restaurant for a cold one .........that is ...if I am permitted.....

Sadly in South Dakota two Fire Fighters lost their lives when the C-130 they flew crashed. Currently all C-130s are now grounded while they look into the cause.
