It's hard to write w/o a tongue-in-cheek symbol on the faces list.

The desk is pressboard with a cherrywood finish.  But that puppy is heavy.  Not exactly small, either.  It will be beautiful when he gets it all put together, but moving it into it's place will be a trick.  He is still very strong for his age, but I am a pansy.  So he will lift and I will slide and we will get it into its final resting place.

I always figure anything heavier than a plate is exhausting. Mischief [:-,]

Not too bad today - but beware - they are talking 90% rain tonite and tomorrow and then maybe measurable snow on Friday.  I may have to run south for a few days to avoid the snow and let it melt before I come home.  Wonder if Houston Ed would find me a corner to nest?

Joe - have nap scheduled for 11-1 today and 3-5 during construction at home.  That should do it!

Morning all, from AZ. A little cooler here today with cloud cover. Mook, have you ever tried AZ. Lots of NE folks come for the winter or just for spring training and the KC Royals train here.

I woke up before 4:00 and will definately have to nap sometime today but will keep checking on all of you here.

CW, that early coffee was great as I read the paper, which I left by the rocker. It is the AZ Republic so you will have some different news than found in KY.

Mooks:

Please go check on Willy in his hiding spot. I think he is making snow for CSX-Sarah to go schuss her trains through. We are looking at 9 inches (or more) of the wet white stuff by Thursday nite. Cuzzin "Little" has started putting out winter storm warnings here. Ma nature appears to be trying to get the moisture totals back up to average too quickly. No leaves on the trees right now is a good thing.

Know one survey crew out (field dogs, haven't graduated to mudchicken status yet) in the great emptiness of eastern WY that ought to be careful for a while and stay near the paved roads. Cat trax, not even 4wd may be not much help while retracing part of the Cowboy Line near Lusk (CNW/FE&MV/WC)....

....My, all this talk of snow is a bit frightening....Here I just commented to wife Jean about how I'm going to get messed up on my mowing.  It could use it's first cut right now but the ground is a bit wet and perhaps more to come next few days.  But the sun is shining in on me right now as I type.

And Jen, I'd think you will like your new home office computer desk after it is assembled and in place.  We did similar, more than a decade ago here turning one bedroom into this home office and it's been a good move.  Another place in the house to "go to".  And it really does serve a good purpose.

This assembled {by me}, desk complex is shaped like a "U" and one part of it fits {tightly}, right into the space where I did away with the closet, and makes nice room in the rest of the room for the other peripherals....And yes, this desk kit was really heavy as it came in boxes....I'd think you will be pleased with it when finished.

Okay, folks, leftover meat loaf, shellie beans on the warmer bar, along with some Mexican food for today:  tacos, burritos enchilada style, beef & bean burritos, quesadillas, spanish rice, etc.  So this Wednesday is a comination of DOWN HOME COUNTRY COOKING/MEXICAN FIESTA DAY.

I'll check back in after I get home from seeing the new doctor.

Pink chickens...to go with rest of assorted colorful animals in the cafe.....

Quentin - the desk looks like it will be beautiful.  Must remember not to set scratchy items on it or it will really show!

Jack - I haven't tried AZ for any long periods of time, but had an aunt and uncle that lived there for many years.  I can't remember just exactly where, somewhere around Phoenix, but they had a huge German Shephard named Pachuco - is that how it is spelled?  My grandmother was a tiny little woman and didn't care for any animals.  Guess who always wanted to sit on Grandma's lap!  We visited them quite a bit until they moved to Anaheim CA.

Joe - wake up!  My turn!

Muddy One, If there is En-sign of the revenge I shall Cope-land with it. I hope you have not Sub-lette the little house out back because Chief Satanta will chase you all the way to Moscow. And then we will have Elk-heart for dinner.

All others please indulge two lads who have walked - at least some of the way - in the same moccasins.

Mookie, if you will get a piece of thin plexiglass and form it to fit your desk, there won't be any scratches on it.....

Radar says it's supposed to be raining, but my office has no windows, so I can't see from here.

Getting ready to hit the road tomorrow.  Have to pay a visit to my little sweetie (and her parents) down in MD.

Back to the grind.

Well, I'm back home!  I think I'm going to like this doctor!  He shook my hand, when he came into the exam room, and looked me in the eyes.  And he doesn't think I'm going to be kicking the bucket anytime soon, either.  I do have to go back to his office next Thursday morning, for an ABI test, then go back to him on May 7th, for the test results.

Joe, containers are ready for you to take to work tonight.  And I'll reset the warmer bar in a couple of hours, for our Wednesday Mexican Fiesta.  Sorry, Mudchicken, but no more meat loaf and shellie beans left from lunch.  Although, I guess down home cookin' could apply to the Mexican Fiesta, if'n you live down Texas and New Mexico way!Wink [;)]

.....Joe, went out in the little barn where the John deere lives all winter and took off it's plastic cover and turned the key {without using the choke}, and let it turn over a few times to get the oil pressure up and then pulled the choke button and bingo it fired right up and now the first mowing is complete.  I'll check the tire pressure and install a new plug a bit later.

A beautiful day here....Lots of sunshine.  58.5 degrees now at almost 6 pm.

Heck, the grass isn't ready to mow yet anyhow, and it's only April - I don't dare change out the lawnmower for the snowblower just yet...

.....Larry, by my first mowing today means the season must be a bit delayed this year as I have mowed as early as March 25th.

Pretty white blossoms are breaking out on our street now....Will be very pretty soon.

Also, still waiting for the first Humming birds to appear at our feeder.  Have had it up now 2 weeks as of Monday....

Good Thursday morning, everyone.  Our current temp is 60 degrees.  I woke up at 5:15, and the temp was 59; no rain outside this morning, but do have the chance of pop-up showers, as the temp continues to rise throughout the day today, then thunderstorms coming in from Arkansas-Missouri late tonight.  Just what we need:  more rain.  (NOT!!)

Coffee, juice and hot tea are ready; even have the Gatorade tanks hooked up for the mudchicken.  Although, he will probably want hot tea, hot chocolate or hot cider if his area did get all the snow.  Haven't heard this morning.

On the breakfast/warmer bar:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, toast, grits.

Good morning to all you fine people. Currently 51 deg in Carolina this lovely morning. I haven't seen the forecast yet, but hopefully those tornadoes will dissapate before coming east. CW, I will have my usual pancakes and maple syrup and some diet Mountain Dew. Thanks and stay safe.

.....Tom, we have 45.7 degrees now at about 7:30.  Today we'll see where that line of storms head to...To be some severe stuff along it.  As of last night the weather people were showing the severe area {for today}, would be more in Ill. than here in Indiana.  But I hope no one really gets the nasty stuff.

I have to go out now and "mow" 4 inches of the heavy, wet white stuff off the walks and driveway now. Scotties out rolling and romping in it now. They are slowly turning white. Coming down hard.
